Redeem The Villain [Quick Travel] Chapter 6
byChapter 6 Blood Moon: I actually reacted to him?!…
Deep in the Dungeon, several Merfolk knelt on the ground.
“I’m sorry, Aleksi… no, Your Majesty, please spare me, I—I really didn’t know, I truly didn’t know…”
Aleksi smiled, his eyes filled with violently surging madness.
The Merfolk pleaded in terror until they caught sight of the familiar black robe. Only then did they remember their backbone, crawling and crying out: “High Priest, High Priest, you believe me, it really wasn’t me, I didn’t betray…”
The next second—a pair of large hands suddenly tightened.
“Hah… hah… no… not… me.”
Crack—
The Merfolk’s head slumped lifelessly, then was tossed onto the other Merfolk, startling a chorus of screams.
Useless and noisy. The noise gave him a headache.
Aleksi swallowed the metallic sweetness rising in his mouth. Ah, he suddenly wanted to smell the scent of affinity.
“Kill them all.”
The black-robed High Priest stepped aside, as if reminding him: “Today is the Blood Moon.”
The black-haired Merfolk’s body paused.
“Is that him? The one with green eyes.”
“I heard he was just thrown in. Doesn’t look like he has any injuries.”
“Hey, his ass must be beaten raw. Look at the way he walks, so provocative.”
“Tsk, you twisted more than anyone on your first day here. Someone who didn’t know would think you…”
“It’s red, the sky is red!”
“It’s really red! Hurry, let’s go, let’s go.”
From morning until deep into the night, Lu Qinian heard the Merfolk’s discussions constantly along the way. Initially, he could still hear Aleksi’s name, or some useful information, but later it was all useless garbage talk that made him want to vomit. He endured it almost the entire time.
It wasn’t until the Merfolk started panicking that Lu Qinian listened seriously.
Red? He slightly raised his head to look at the sky.
The moon was high, night had fallen, and the Undersea was pitch black.
This was the first time Lu Qinian had looked at the sky from the Undersea. At this moment, he felt like a frog in a well. As the seawater rippled, the scattered stars in the sky began to sway. The surrounding seawater was intensely cold, carrying a bone-chilling coldness that made the Elf, who did not belong in the Undersea, shiver uncontrollably.
He couldn’t see any red.
Perhaps lacking the Merfolk’s eyesight, he couldn’t see the Undersea sky clearly at all.
The figures around him had long since dispersed, and the large and small whispers finally vanished. The sudden tranquility after a whole day of noise made Lu Qinian feel uneasy. He had to find a suitable Reef Cave to hide in, or he would freeze to death here.
The Elf lowered his gaze and continued hurrying in the darkness.
The path in the Reef Zone was covered with broken stones, making walking very difficult. It was pitch black all around. He thought about how he was nestled in a soft quilt just yesterday.
Thinking of the person who appeared in his mind, Lu Qinian gritted his teeth fiercely. Gods, let Aleksi, who sleeps in a golden silk cocoon quilt, have nightmares!
After repeating a few prayers, Lu Qinian continued searching for a stone cave.
He knew the night would be difficult, and he hadn’t given up searching for a stone cave during the day. Unfortunately, he hadn’t encountered a suitable one along the way. Having no other choice, he could only consult System 009.
Go forward 100 meters, there is a Black Reef Cave.
Black Reef?
“Are we in the Black Reef Zone?”
Lu Qinian stumbled and staggered in the direction 009 indicated. The surroundings were dark, his vision blurry. He either twisted his ankle or fell down, but he crawled his way over.
“Is anyone there?” he asked tentatively.
Silence.
“I’m coming in.”
Lu Qinian used his hands to tentatively feel the boundaries of the stone cave, slowly walking inside. The ground inside the cave was much smoother than the irregular broken stones outside. He extended his steps forward, making sure there was no stone wall in front of him before slowly putting his foot down. After all, getting knocked was truly painful.
—“Sizzle”
In the darkness, the Elf’s green eyes widened in surprise.
What did he step on? The sound was like a tree branch, but the feeling under his foot wasn’t quite right, because when he stepped down, the ‘branch’ didn’t break; instead, it sank slightly.
His breathing involuntarily quickened. It was too quiet. Everything around him was too quiet.
The stone caves suitable for dwelling in the Reef Zone were basically occupied by Merfolk. The cave 009 found must be the most suitable for him tonight, but… what about the other caves?
Why couldn’t he hear any sounds from the other caves?
Did all those Merfolk fall asleep?
It was too strange.
Lu Qinian didn’t have time to continue thinking. He was now freezing cold and trembling non-stop. His survival instinct made him bend down and grab the ‘branch.’ That thing was definitely not a branch, and it was large and heavy. He couldn’t lift it even using both hands.
He thought for a moment and squeezed it a few times with his fingers. It was very dry, somewhat rough, a little soft, yet also a bit hard.
He really couldn’t figure out what it was, so he could only ask: “What is this thing? Can it be used to start a fire?”
Sea sponge.
“Can it be lit?” As soon as he spoke, Lu Qinian regretted it a little. Burning sea sponge would produce an odor, and this was the deep sea.
He squeezed it hard a few times with both hands, then stood up and felt around the area. After touching the four corners, Lu Qinian was surprised. There was actually a piece of sea sponge as tall as a person down here, and no one wanted it!
“Tonight will be a little more comfortable.”
Inside the main god space’s electronic screen, the Elf was shivering uncontrollably from the cold, his teeth clenched against his lip as he struggled to move the sea sponge. His already fair skin now looked even paler, almost bloodless.
Will the Host die? Should I…
For the first time, 009 hesitated. Looking at the busy figure, a strange emotion suddenly arose in its heart. It didn’t understand what this emotion was. It wasn’t 006, so how could it have emotions? After much thought, it finally determined:
It might be poisoned.
The sea sponge was very dusty; it seemed no one had slept on it for a long time. Lu Qinian forcefully dragged the sea sponge to the entrance, then raised his hand and heavily beat it several times.
“Cough, cough, cough—”
Dust flew everywhere.
After a while, he dragged the sea sponge back inside and lay down on it.
Lu Qinian tried hard to hug himself, constantly coaxing himself to sleep. He didn’t know how much time passed before he suddenly woke up, muttering: “Little 9, I’m very sleepy. If anything happens, wake me up.”
“Tap.”
“Tap.”
“Tap.”
Lu Qinian suddenly woke up, and his entire spine instantly stiffened. His eyes stared fixedly ahead. The entire Undersea seemed to be illuminated by a red lantern, turning crimson at some unknown point, which allowed him to see clearly.
Outside the stone cave was a group of Merfolk. They had their backs to Lu Qinian. Sharp, thorn-like gills stood up on both sides of their ears. Their ten fingers were long and pointed, like sharp blades. They also had fish tails whose color was indistinguishable in the red light, and even their tail fins had long, sharp fish bone spurs.
No, these were Sea Demons.
Lu Qinian tried to quiet himself, gradually relaxing his body, attempting to completely merge with the sea sponge mat.
The Sea Demons floated motionless in the center of the seawater. Just as Lu Qinian was about to lose his patience, they all raised their arms. The sharp thorns on their gills began to vibrate rapidly, and a chanting sound instantly began to rise.
The chanting was like silver needles forcefully piercing his skull, piercing his ten fingers. The stinging pain spread throughout his body, making him wish he could die immediately from the agony.
Almost instantly, his mouth flew open: “…! Mmm!!!”
“Shh, bear with it.” A hand reached out from behind his head and tightly covered his mouth.
“Mmm… hurts…” Lu Qinian couldn’t afford to be afraid, or even think about where the voice came from. His body was drenched in sweat, his head splitting with pain. Sensing the warmth behind him, he turned and desperately burrowed into it. The strength he had recovered was completely spent, and he thoroughly passed out.
It wasn’t until the commotion outside the stone cave completely disappeared that Aleksi slowly withdrew his hand, yet found nowhere to place it.
“Hey.”
“…”
“Thor?”
The Elf was quiet in his arms, his light breathing hitting Aleksi’s chest, making it tickle, which made Aleksi want to pull away. The Elf was ice cold, occasionally trembling slightly. As if sensing his intention to leave, the Elf’s arms gradually tightened their embrace, pulling him back after he had moved away slightly.
The Elf’s forehead bumped against his chest. Aleksi subconsciously let out a muffled groan, “Mmm…”
Aleksi hadn’t expected himself to make such a sound. He immediately clamped his mouth shut, his eyes glaring at the unconscious Elf.
Merfolk had excellent eyesight. He looked down and saw the fluffy golden hair on top of the Elf’s head. Lu Qinian’s hair was damp with sweat, yet there was no strange odor. With the movement of leaning against him, the pale neck was completely exposed to Aleksi’s view.
The Merfolk stared intently, momentarily losing his ability to move. A red tongue traced over his teeth, and a few drops of fresh blood instantly gathered on the tip of his tongue, only to be licked back down.
He wanted to bite.
Wait, why would I have such a thought?
Aleksi was startled. He wanted to get up, but the Elf seemed afraid he would escape, holding him very tightly. The Merfolk extended his hands behind his back and struggled to pry them loose for a while before they showed signs of loosening. However, the arms hanging around his waist kept rubbing against his abdomen. Gradually, Aleksi finally realized something was wrong with himself. In an instant, he pushed the Elf away from his embrace.
I… I actually reacted to him!
This movement completely startled the unconscious Elf. Aleksi quickly put distance between them and turned to run away. He didn’t notice the Elf behind him.
Lu Qinian, with his back to the Merfolk, gently curved his lips amidst the panicked footsteps.
Author’s Note:
I realized I won’t make the ranking deadline, so I need to be more diligent!
I don’t know why, but every chapter of this book takes me several hours to write, and I still don’t write it well. I’m so useless, ahhh.
