Redeem The Villain [Quick Travel] Chapter 10
byChapter 10 The Deity “You actually trust an Elf.”
The next second—Sea Demon warriors descended from above, protecting their leader.
“Your Majesty, leave the rest to us,” Ling Tang said, stepping forward.
“Don’t rush,” the Sea Demon Leader said casually, slowly descending from the throne. “How long has it been since we last met?”
There was no need for pleasantries between mortal enemies. Aleksi looked at him as if looking at a dead fish, his heart completely unmoved.
His eyes shifted, landing on the Elf not far away. The timid Sea Demon was stunned by the scene before him, failing to notice that the Elf beside him had long since turned his back, head lowered, attempting to break free from the hemp rope. Perhaps the rope was tied too tightly, as the Elf’s brow was furrowed, and he was muttering something discontentedly under his breath.
Aleksi himself didn’t realize it, but he inexplicably curled the corner of his mouth.
The Sea Demon Leader, who had been staring at the Merfolk, saw this and his strange expression almost broke. His gaze darted back and forth between the Merfolk and the Elf. As if realizing something, he teased, “Hiss—you really like this Elf? You’re not actually the bottom one, are you?”
Aleksi’s face instantly turned cold.
He had heard every word the Elf said, and naturally, he was furious, yet he didn’t harbor the slightest thought of killing the other party. Only now, hearing the Sea Demon mention it, did he realize he hadn’t thought to blame the Elf.
This expression from the Merfolk further confirmed the Sea Demon Leader’s guess. What was more satisfying than seeing an enemy suffer? He laughed maniacally, as if mocking the Merfolk cub who had struggled in the Reef Zone.
“Hahaha, I never thought you, Aleksi, would be a slave to love. Does that foolish Elf not know your true identity?”
With that, his gaze shifted, and his voice deepened as he roared at Lu Qinian, “You still don’t know, do you? He’s a Black Tail! The most ominous thing in the Merfolk race! His own mother was cursed to death by him, and he killed all his relatives. Guess why such a dark, violent Merfolk would be with you?”
Yang Luo’s killing intent was hidden beneath his black robe.
Aleksi’s headaches required treatment. Now that they had used the Elf, subsequent treatment would be difficult. If the Sea Demon continued speaking, treatment would be impossible. If necessary, they would have to kill this Elf and capture another. Aleksi’s secret must never be leaked.
Lu Qinian had long given up on struggling. The hemp rope on his hands couldn’t be undone without a knife, so he simply listened openly for a long time. The information the Sea Demon Leader revealed was all available in the data, but he was naturally curious about the hidden truth.
“Why?”
The Elf’s voice was not loud, but it was unusually calm, as if it were just a simple question and answer, instantly drawing everyone’s attention to him.
The moment Lu Qinian looked up, he fell into the Merfolk’s deep pupils. Aleksi’s eyes were profound and dark as he gazed at him, like a deep lake threatening to drown him.
Lu Qinian’s throat unconsciously bobbed. For some reason, he felt a hint of sorrow, or perhaps grievance, in Aleksi’s expression.
The Sea Demon Leader slowly walked to the Elf’s side and whispered, “Because… Aleksi won’t live long. In half a year at most, he will die. Guess… why he will die?”
This time, the Elf didn’t take the bait. Instead, he asked back with a detached, uncaring expression, “Since he’s going to die, why did you run to the land?”
Aleksi’s deep eyes flickered. He had always known the Elf was different since the Dungeon, but he hadn’t expected the Elf to know everything.
The Sea Demon Leader froze, his face gradually heating up as if he had been heavily slapped by the Elf.
He couldn’t possibly say that he hadn’t received news of Aleksi’s impending death before, so he planned to escape to the land. He was the leader; that would undoubtedly be slapping his own face.
“Pfft.” Someone laughed out loud, and the Sea Demon Leader instantly snapped back to attention.
The Sea Demon Leader was surprisingly not angry. Instead, he smiled playfully, his gaze fixed on the Elf. “Given your relationship, aren’t you concerned about his health? After all, he’s dying?”
“Will you tell me?” Lu Qinian was concerned, of course, but he knew Aleksi wouldn’t die.
“His birth mother was cursed to death by him, and his father found him a stepmother. This stepmother poisoned him when he was young. Guess… what kind of poison it is?”
Lu Qinian raised an eyebrow. “What poison?” This was hidden information not in the plot.
The Sea Demon Leader didn’t answer. Instead, he instantly turned his head and muttered to himself, “You definitely don’t like him, do you? No one would like a Black Tail Merfolk. So, let me help you.”
He paused, his expression twisted and sinister, revealing a chilling smile. “Let him… die quickly!”
The moment he finished speaking, the Sea Demon warriors rushed out. The Merfolk, whose nerves had been tightly strung, began to counterattack the instant the Sea Demons charged.
“Your Majesty, leave this side to us.” Ling Tang darted out.
Lu Qinian moved quickly, kicking away the timid Sea Demon and throwing his entire body forward to crush the Sea Demon beneath him. He then felt around the body for a dagger. With a flick of his wrist, the hemp rope binding his hands split into pieces and fell to the ground.
He then sprang up and quickly ran behind a stone pillar to hide.
“Today is your death day!”
The Sea Demon Leader was excited. He could already see himself dominating the Undersea in the future. His dark green fish tail flicked and swished behind him, propelling him dozens of meters through the water. A long sword, sharp enough to cut iron like mud, stabbed straight toward Aleksi.
He could finally turn the useless Merfolk into dried fish! He would seize all the resources of the Undersea! He would make those ungrateful wretches kneel beneath him and gasp for survival!
According to the redemption mission, the host should have thrown himself onto Aleksi to block the sword for him. However, Lu Qinian wasn’t worried about Aleksi. After all, this was a villain who almost wiped out the Sea Demon race. Did he really need saving?
Just as he thought, Aleksi didn’t even need to transform his fish tail to create distance between himself and the Sea Demon Leader. He simply reached out and gripped the Sea Demon Leader’s wrist, then twisted it.
“Ah!” The Sea Demon’s wrist was instantly broken by Aleksi, and the long sword dropped. The Merfolk flipped his wrist.
“Swoosh—”
The long sword flew from the Merfolk’s fingers in an instant, cutting a streak through the rapidly moving seawater. With a *pfft*, it pierced the heart of a Sea Demon.
“No, no… you should be severely poisoned and dying! How can you still have strength?” The Sea Demon Leader’s face was horrified, as if in disbelief, and his body trembled slightly.
The Fish Butler had clearly sent news not long ago that Aleksi’s headaches were incurable and worsening rapidly every day. He hadn’t appeared in the great hall for a long time, and his strength was so weak he couldn’t even kill an Elf with one blow.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have played along with the plan. He thought this opportunity was foolproof. He thought he could finally occupy the Undersea.
No, perhaps Aleksi was just pretending to be strong, trying to deceive him!
“You must be faking it! Don’t think you can fool me! Go die!” The Sea Demon Leader viciously charged again.
“Didn’t the Fish Butler tell you? Only an Elf can cure my headaches.” The Merfolk suddenly grabbed the Sea Demon’s neck. Veins bulged on his wheat-colored arm, and the strength of his five fingers intensified, his fingertips gradually turning pale.
What did that mean? What did Aleksi mean? What did he mean by headaches that an Elf could cure?
“Heh heh… Hahaha, an Elf, it’s actually an Elf. No wonder, no wonder. All these years, everyone I secretly sent in would be thrown back out by you. You never trust anyone, yet you trust an Elf. You clearly had murderous intent but still let him leave the Dungeon alive. So it’s because he can cure your headaches.” The Sea Demon Leader laughed maniacally. Although he was laughing, his eyes were unusually dim.
He was the same age as Aleksi and grew up in the Black Reef Zone with him. His father was the Sea Demon Leader, but he was extremely fond of Aleksi! He was angry and jealous, often secretly bullying and slandering Aleksi. Whenever he was exposed, his father always beat and scolded him, never even asking for the reason.
When his father died, he smoothly took over the position of Sea Demon Leader. That day, he issued an order to hunt down Aleksi throughout the clan, but he didn’t expect so many clansmen to die without managing to kill Aleksi.
The Sea Demon Leader’s dark green hair was no longer neat; messy strands hung on his face. The pressure on his neck increased, and his face was pale and bloodless.
Why should he, who was poisoned with an incurable toxin, have the heavens send a kind-hearted Elf to treat him?!
The next second—
The Sea Demon smiled wickedly, and his sharp, long fingernails instantly extended.
“Pfft—” The sharp fingernails instantly plunged into Aleksi’s chest.
“Go die! Go die! Cough, cough…”
Aleksi’s eyes darkened. The sharp pain in his chest instantly erupted throughout his body. The headache, which had been suppressed by absorbing affinity just moments ago, flared up again. His head was splitting, and his face was pale, but the strength in his fingers did not lessen; instead, it suddenly intensified.
This time, he had to kill him.
Sensing Aleksi’s determination, the fins near the Sea Demon’s ears gradually emerged. His face was turning blue from being choked, and the fins by his ears violently fluttered, fiercely drawing oxygen from the seawater. His gaze passed the Merfolk and landed on the Sea Demon behind him. Then, his dark green eyes met the Merfolk’s deep pupils, and he smiled slightly, “Go die.”
“Your Majesty, catch!” Ling Tang only had a trident in her hand. She raised it high and threw it forcefully toward Aleksi, then shouted behind her, “Hold them off, I’m going to help His Majesty.”
Yang Luo rushed over immediately, killing the Sea Demons attempting to surround them.
At the same time, Ling Tang’s legs transformed into a pair of silver fish tails. With a powerful flick, she slammed the Sea Demons beside her to the ground and rushed toward Aleksi’s back.
The Sea Demon behind Aleksi was violently flapping his fins, searching for the perfect moment.
The Sea Demon was not as slender as the Merfolk; his body was larger. His strong, powerful arms were holding a long spear raised high, about to pierce Aleksi’s back.
The black-curled Merfolk’s chest was repeatedly stabbed by the Sea Demon Leader’s sharp fingernails. Aleksi’s chest flesh was already lacerated. He desperately choked the Sea Demon’s neck with one hand, and with the other, he reached to the side, firmly catching the trident. However, the Sea Demon behind him was too close. He didn’t have time to raise the trident again, yet he was unwilling to let go of the chance to choke the Sea Demon.
If the long spear pierced his back, combined with the wound on his chest, he might not survive. The Sea Demon Leader was extremely cunning; otherwise, he wouldn’t have searched for years and finally found an opportunity through the Elf.
If he let go now, it would be very difficult to kill him later.
In this critical situation, Aleksi subconsciously wanted to sing an enchanting Merfolk song, but his slightly parted lips couldn’t emit a single syllable for a long time.
His deep eyes sank.
Since the moment he was poisoned, he could no longer sing.
“Pfft—”
Aleksi’s body stiffened. A crisp snap sounded from in front of him.
The Sea Demon Leader’s dark green eyes stared fixedly at the Merfolk in front of him, a malicious smile that could no longer be contained still on his lips. The sharp fingers that had stabbed into Aleksi’s chest instantly withdrew, and his arm dropped limply.
Strange, he clearly heard the sound of a weapon piercing his back, so why didn’t it hurt?
Aleksi’s fingers loosened. The Sea Demon’s neck instantly snapped, his head tilted at a gruesome angle, and his entire body slammed onto the ground with a bang.
The corpse’s dark green eyes stared fixedly at the sky above.
Lu Qinian’s palm was sticky. The blood on his hands even obscured the original color of the dagger. He tossed the dagger away in disgust, wanting to wash his hands clean with seawater, but he couldn’t touch the water.
His thoughts wavered for a moment. Perhaps he had been Undersea for too long; he almost forgot that he didn’t belong to the ocean. The water-repellent potion allowed him to live normally Undersea, but it ultimately couldn’t change his original form.
After a moment, he silently crouched down and wiped the blood from his hands onto the Sea Demon’s clothes.
When he stood up again, the Sea Demon Leader’s body was twisted and slumped in front of Aleksi. The black-curled Merfolk remained motionless for a long time, his strong arms slightly lowered at his sides. The trident had dropped to the ground at some point.
After thinking for a moment, Lu Qinian took two steps forward and waved his hand in front of Aleksi’s eyes. “Aleksi? Are you okay?”
What was going on? Wasn’t he a violent, vicious villain? Why was he stunned after killing his enemy?
What a pleasant voice. It must sound wonderful if he were to sing.
Aleksi’s slightly dazed thoughts slowly returned. Blood flowed all over his body from his chest wound, and his wheat-colored skin was tinged with the paleness of blood loss.
The Merfolk’s lowered eyes followed the sound. Those clear, emerald green eyes were looking at him with worry.
It was the Elf. Aleksi swallowed. No wonder the voice was so clear and pure. He had thought it was a deity.
Aleksi’s body stiffened. He actually thought the Elf was a deity.
The Elf was covered in dirt, looking as if he had fallen and then struggled to get up. His fair, slender hands were relatively clean, but a closer look revealed blood soaking into the creases of his fingers. A few drops of dried blood were splattered on his face.
Aleksi slowly came back to his senses. The Sea Demon who had held the long sword and was about to stab his back had his lips slightly parted, blood continuously spilling out, his eyes looking as if he were pleading.
It was the Elf… who saved him.
“What exactly is wrong with you?” He wasn’t really stupid, was he? Lu Qinian panicked for a second, but only a second before realizing that perhaps a stupid Merfolk would be easier to deceive.
With the Sea Demon Leader dead, the remaining Sea Demons completely gave up resisting. Ling Tang slowly walked over. “Your Majesty?”
Aleksi met the Elf’s meaningful smile, then turned to Ling Tang and said, “Clean this up.”
With that, he turned and walked out of the cave.
Lu Qinian scratched his head and asked System 009, “Little Nine, why don’t you find someone else to…” complete the mission.
Before he could finish, he was interrupted by a hoarse voice.
Aleksi had turned to face him at some point, his eyes deep, and his voice low and raspy. “Come here. Leave this place with me.”
