    Chapter 63: The Plan

Not long after, a tall, stern-faced man strode over. It was Gu Huaishan.

Zheng Jun spotted him from afar, like a drowning man grabbing a lifeline. He rushed forward, his face filled with grievance, and cried, “Camp Leader! You’re finally here! These people are simply going too far!”

Gu Huaishan’s sharp eyes swept around the crowd. When his gaze landed on Qi Xiaoyao, he frowned slightly.

He thought to himself, “Why is this guy here too?” Then, he shifted his gaze back to Zheng Jun and asked in a deep voice, “What exactly happened?”

At this moment, Qi Xiaoyao stepped forward and methodically recounted the entire story to Gu Huaishan. Gu Huaishan listened attentively, nodding occasionally in agreement.

After Qi Xiaoyao finished speaking, Gu Huaishan pondered for a moment and said, “Let’s not rush to conclusions about this matter. I’ll send someone to investigate and then…” However, before he could finish speaking, Qi Xiaoyao interrupted him decisively.

Qi Xiaoyao said with a serious expression, “No need. I’ll investigate it myself. After all, it’s my subordinate who’s in trouble.” With that, he looked directly at Gu Huaishan with a firm gaze, his undeniable demeanor making it difficult to refuse.

Seeing Qi Xiaoyao’s determination, Gu Huaishan had no choice but to nod in agreement. “Alright, then I’ll have to trouble you.”

After the crowd dispersed, only Gu Huaishan and Zheng Jun remained at the scene.

Gu Huaishan glared at Zheng Jun with a look of disappointment. He rebuked, “You’re the one who caused this mess again, aren’t you? Why do you always act on your own!”

Zheng Jun, however, stuck his neck out and retorted stubbornly, “That woman named Shi Yi is just too arrogant. If I don’t teach her a lesson, she’ll really think she can ride on my head!”

“Thank you,” Shi Yi said with a slight smile, tilting her head and looking directly at Qi Xiaoyao, a faint smile on her lips.

“To be so insidiously framed and still be completely unaware, I truly admire your blockhead.” As soon as he finished speaking, he quickly pulled a small, exquisite glass bottle from his pocket and stuffed it into Shi Yi’s hand without explanation.

Shi Yi took the bottle, looking at it with a puzzled expression. Her brow furrowed, and she asked softly, “What is this?” Qi Xiaoyao explained calmly, “This is a ‘powerful medicine’ I accidentally found in the vegetable garden. Just take it, and it will cause severe abdominal pain.”

Hearing this, Shi Yi’s face turned green with anger. She stared intently at the unremarkable little glass bottle in her hand, gritting her teeth as she said, “Hmph, I knew that Zheng Jun didn’t have any good intentions!”

Then, as if she suddenly thought of something, she abruptly looked up at Qi Xiaoyao and asked anxiously, “Then… what should we do now? How about… I go tell Gu Huaishan about this?”

As soon as she spoke, Qi Xiaoyao reached out and gently tapped Shi Yi’s head, scolding with a smile, “Silly, can’t you see? Gu Huaishan is no longer trustworthy.”

“What? Gu Huaishan? How is that possible? Why do you say that?” Shi Yi’s eyes widened, staring at Qi Xiaoyao in disbelief, as if she had heard the most absurd thing in the world.

Faced with Shi Yi’s questioning, Qi Xiaoyao took a deep breath and slowly said, “A few days ago, I accidentally saw him and Zheng Jun huddled together, plotting something secretively. Judging by their expressions, they are most likely planning something unfavorable against you.”

“Ah? Then… what are we going to do?” Shi Yi panicked completely, standing helplessly on the spot. Her originally delicate face was now somewhat distorted by fear.

Looking at Shi Yi’s pitiful, helpless appearance, Qi Xiaoyao couldn’t help but chuckle. He gently patted Shi Yi’s head, signaling her to calm down, then leaned closer to her ear and, in a low voice, told her the countermeasures he had already thought of in detail.

“Can this really work?” A hint of confusion flashed in Shi Yi’s eyes, her heart filled with doubt and incomprehension about the situation she was facing.

They had no past grudges or present animosity with Gu Huaishan, so why would Gu Huaishan want to harm them? This question lingered in her mind like a fog, difficult to dispel for a long time.

“It will work, as long as you and your friend cooperate well.” Qi Xiaoyao said decisively, then turned and left, leaving Shi Yi standing there, alone digesting this sudden information.

After a while, Shi Yi finally came back to her senses and quickly told Jiang Xianchuan and Li Lingyu about these things.

After Jiang Xianchuan heard it, the corners of his mouth rose slightly, revealing a faint smile. “Heh, what a petty Camp Leader! I never even had those thoughts.” His tone was relaxed and a bit disdainful.

“What thoughts?” Shi Yi blinked her eyes and asked curiously.

Jiang Xianchuan, however, played coy, answering unhurriedly, “Guess.” After saying that, he deliberately glanced at Shi Yi, his eyes full of meaning.

Shi Yi became even more confused by his look, but seeing that he was unwilling to speak plainly, she couldn’t continue to press him. At this time, Li Lingyu, who was standing aside, fell into deep thought. After a long time, he slowly opened his mouth. “No, I might… not be able to do it.” His voice was low and slightly hesitant.

Hearing this, Jiang Xianchuan immediately retorted, “A man can’t easily say he can’t do it!” He patted Li Lingyu on the shoulder, encouraging him, “You must do it.”

The three people sat around in the room and began to seriously simulate the specific content of the plan. However, the problem appeared soon after they started.

“No, no, our emotions aren’t in place at all. It’s just not working. Ugh, I really want to laugh.” Jiang Xianchuan couldn’t help but laugh as soon as he imagined himself saying those words. His laughter was like a flood that had burst its banks, completely out of control.

“Don’t laugh, if you laugh, I can’t hold it in either.” Shi Yi said as she vigorously rubbed her cheeks, which had gone numb from laughing too hard, trying to regain her composure.

Li Lingyu, on the other hand, stared intently at the chopsticks in his hand, as if trying to find some inspiration or courage from them.

He hesitated for a moment, just about to say something, but was interrupted by Jiang Xianchuan, “Don’t say you can’t do it! Okay, let’s go through it again!”

So, they threw themselves into the intense practice once more. Every action, every word was repeatedly pondered, striving for perfection.

After several such repetitions, Jiang Xianchuan finally nodded in satisfaction. “Mm, this time it feels much better, we can do it. Okay, let’s go with this. That’s how we’ll perform tomorrow!”

At this time, although the three people still felt a little uneasy in their hearts, they had more anticipation and confidence in the successful implementation of the plan.
