Today, Shi Yi was in charge of going out to purchase supplies and wait in the parking lot for the materials she had ordered from the wholesale market yesterday, while Jiang Xianchuan stayed at home waiting for the workers to come and install the soundproofing.
After waiting for a while, the workers knocked on the door right on time. Jiang Xianchuan invited them in and was about to go downstairs to pick up a package when he was stopped by the next-door neighbor.
“What’s all this commotion? You’ve been making a racket since yesterday.”
Jiang Xianchuan sized up the middle-aged man. He was wearing black-rimmed glasses and a cyan tracksuit, with his hands on his hips, looking down at Jiang Xianchuan with an arrogant expression.
“I’m sorry for the trouble. We’re renovating these days, so it might be a bit noisy. Please don’t mind.”
“Hmph! Don’t mind? How can I not mind? As soon as I get back from work, I see you messing around, changing doors and windows. Do you have that much money? Are you so afraid of thieves?”
Looking at the man’s aggressive manner, Jiang Xianchuan resisted the urge to punch him and tried to maintain a smile. “Uncle, I’m really sorry. We’ll try to keep the noise down in the future and not disturb your rest.”
The middle-aged man just rolled his eyes at Jiang Xianchuan and went inside.
“What an idiot…”
Afterward, Jiang Xianchuan returned to his apartment and sat in the living room, watching the workers do the soundproofing.
When Jiang Xianchuan was half asleep, the workers woke him up. “Young man, it’s all done. Do you want to take a look?”
After checking and confirming everything was correct, Jiang Xianchuan immediately paid the workers the remaining balance. After they left, he sent a message to Shi Yi.
Jiang Xianchuan: [The soundproofing is done. Have the supplies arrived?]
Shi Yi: [Just arrived a little while ago. I’m on Negative 3rd Floor. There’s no one here now. Come quickly.]
Arriving at the underground parking garage, Jiang Xianchuan was a little surprised by Shi Yi’s purchasing power, looking at the pile of supplies on the ground.
It had almost everything they could use daily, and even things they didn’t need.
Looking around and confirming that no one was there, Jiang Xianchuan put all the items into his space. Fortunately, his space would automatically sort them, saving him a lot of trouble.
“Let’s go, it’s almost lunchtime. Let’s go out for a meal?”
“What should we eat?”
Jiang Xianchuan gave Shi Yi a sly smile. “Let’s find a buffet.”
The two randomly found a buffet restaurant with high ratings and a wide variety of food on a food app. As soon as they entered, Jiang Xianchuan began grabbing food like he was in a famine.
“Can you finish all that?”
Jiang Xianchuan ignored Shi Yi’s question, focusing his attention on the waiters. As long as the waiters weren’t paying attention, he put the food into his space.
“How is it? This trick is not bad, right? If we open up our minds, isn’t going to a buffet the same as stocking up on goods?”
“Genius! Absolutely genius! But what about the surveillance cameras?”
Jiang Xianchuan pointed to the surveillance camera above his head. “Why do you think I’m sitting in the corner? I checked, this spot is just out of the camera’s view.”
Shi Yi immediately gave Jiang Xianchuan a thumbs up and joined his “stocking up” operation.
The waiter who passed by was stunned to see the mountain of empty bowls piled up on their table. They’d seen people who could eat, but never people who could eat so much.
It even alarmed the restaurant manager. “You two are…” Looking at the manager’s hesitant expression, Jiang Xianchuan put down the crab in his hand. “I’m sorry, we have a big appetite, but don’t worry, we won’t waste any food!”
“I mean, the dining time… you see?”
“Time? Isn’t it two hours? It’s only been a little over an hour, don’t worry, we’ll leave when the time is up.”
Seeing Jiang Xianchuan’s attitude, the manager didn’t know what to say, so he could only stand aside and watch them with tears in his eyes, frantically praying in his heart that they would eat less.
When the two hours were up, they left the buffet restaurant contentedly. Looking at the deathly pale manager standing at the front desk, Jiang Xianchuan patted him on the shoulder. “Your restaurant is pretty good, we’ll come again next time. I’ll write a good review for you when I get back!”
After saying that, the two left. Watching their backs, the manager silently added them to the blacklist.
