Chapter 13: Eat Your Fill, Drink Your Fill, and Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Since the leather jacket guy incident, the trio’s life could be described as calm and peaceful. Aside from observing the zombies downstairs, they were either tending to the seedlings, exercising, or watching well-worn novels and TV dramas. As time passed, it inevitably became somewhat monotonous and boring.

“Ughhhhh! I’m so bored! I want to play games! I want to play a popular online game!”

This was already the unknown number of times Jiang Xianchuan had said this on the sofa today.

“Li Lingyu, say something.” After saying that, Jiang Xianchuan leaned towards Li Lingyu.

Li Lingyu, who was reading a book, immediately put down the book in his hand upon seeing this, and supported Jiang Xianchuan with both hands to prevent him from falling. “Mmm, words.”

Shi Yi was speechless at this scene. Ever since that day, Jiang Xianchuan had been harassing Li Lingyu all the time, or trying to provoke him. Thankfully, Li Lingyu had a good temper and accepted it every time.

“Jiang Xianchuan, if you’re really bored, you can go water our vegetables.”

“Okay, okay, I’ll go, I’ll go.”

On the balcony, sunlight shone through the window, illuminating a vibrant scene.

The green seedlings sprouted from the soil, fresh and tender, as if showing their vitality to the world.

Each seedling was like a small life, striving to grow, looking forward to the future harvest. Their leaves were tender green and soft, seemingly swaying gently in the breeze, telling the story of life.

“Our little seedlings are growing so well.”

Looking at the lush green seedlings, Jiang Xianchuan’s mood also improved a lot. “Shi Yi, how long until we can eat these seedlings?”

“Hmm… it’ll be a while, but it should be soon enough.”

After watering the plants, Jiang Xianchuan returned to the living room and collapsed on the sofa. Shi Yi, on the other hand, carried some freshly made desserts and placed them on the coffee table.

“Wow, Shi Yi, you’re the best, you’re practically a chef!” Jiang Xianchuan said, picking up a piece of pastry and feeding it to Li Lingyu. “Come on, Yu-bao, open your mouth.”

Li Lingyu naturally opened his mouth and ate it, but his eyes never left the book in his hand.

Shi Yi looked at the two of them, shook her head helplessly, and thought that these two were really one thing subduing another. So she sat down and ate with them.

“Eat your fill, drink your fill, and get a good night’s sleep!” Jiang Xianchuan yawned and lay on the sofa. “Li Lingyu, tell me a bedtime story.”

Li Lingyu looked at Jiang Xianchuan and nodded. “Since x equals 2, |x-2| equals 0, let’s assume |x-2| is less than 1…”

Before long, Jiang Xianchuan fell asleep, breathing evenly. Li Lingyu gently put a coat on him and then quietly sat aside, staring at Jiang Xianchuan’s face.

Li Lingyu continued to read his book, occasionally looking down at Jiang Xianchuan, a trace of tenderness flashing in his eyes.

At this moment, Jiang Xianchuan turned over and muttered, “Can’t dodge the mechanics… I need to optimize…” Li Lingyu couldn’t help but smile, thinking that this person was really carefree.

After a while, Li Lingyu put down the book. He gently pushed his shoulder and whispered, “Wake up, go back to your room to sleep.” Jiang Xianchuan vaguely opened his eyes, looked at Li Lingyu, and nodded.

Li Lingyu helped Jiang Xianchuan up, and the two walked into the bedroom together. Li Lingyu tucked Jiang Xianchuan in, then sat down by the bed.

Li Lingyu quietly looked at Jiang Xianchuan, his eyes full of unclear emotions.

He reached out and gently stroked Jiang Xianchuan’s forehead, whispering, “Good afternoon, have a good dream.” After saying that, he stood up and left the room.
