Rebirth In The Days When Curse Gao Was The Boss Chapter 56
byChapter 56
When the news that the last of Ryomen Sukuna’s fingers had been reduced to nothingness reached Jujutsu High, an atmosphere of mixed excitement and gravity settled over the campus. The final obstacle had been cleared; the ultimate confrontation now targeted the last remaining, and most core, consciousness of Sukuna within Itadori Yuji.
After months of preparation, training, and intelligence gathering, the plan to separate Sukuna’s consciousness was put on the agenda. All relevant personnel gathered once more in the familiar conference room, the mood even more serious than before.
Gojo Satoru stood at the head of the table, his gaze sweeping over everyone present, finally resting on the resolute Itadori Yuji and the expressionless but sharp-eyed Xue Yang.
“The plan is simple, but extremely dangerous,” Gojo Satoru’s voice was steady, carrying an undeniable finality. “Yuji, what you need to do is actively and completely release control of your body, and even… to some extent, cooperate with Sukuna’s consciousness, allowing him to ‘wake up’ and, as much as possible, ‘manifest’ his consciousness externally, creating the best possible attack window for us.”
Itadori nodded firmly, his fists clenched. “I understand! I will do it!” He knew this was akin to inviting a wolf into the house, but it was the only chance.
“Xue Yang,” Gojo Satoru looked at him. “Your task is the heaviest. The moment Sukuna’s consciousness is forcibly awakened and manifested by Yuji, you must immediately deploy Calamity (Sword Name) and use your Domain Expansion, Hundred Ghosts of the Burial Mounds, to forcibly suppress and lock down his core consciousness. Then, using Calamity, unleash the ‘severing’ power you possess. The target is not Yuji’s body, but the ‘contract’ bond between Sukuna’s consciousness and Yuji’s soul! It must be precise, and it must be a single, successful strike!”
Xue Yang lifted his eyelids, his fingertips unconsciously rubbing the cold hilt of Calamity. “Understood.”
“I will provide support from the side,” Gojo Satoru continued. “I will use Limitless to stabilize the battlefield, isolate potential external interference, and provide Cursed Energy support when necessary. Shoko, be ready for immediate emergency treatment. Everyone else, guard the perimeter and prevent any accidents.”
“Understood!” everyone responded in unison, their eyes filled with determination.
The location for the final battle was chosen to be the deepest, most heavily guarded underground training ground at Jujutsu High. It was covered by layers of talismans and barriers, sufficient to withstand energy impacts of Special Grade or higher.
In the center of the arena, Itadori Yuji sat cross-legged. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He began to follow the method Gojo Satoru had taught him, actively relaxing his mind, removing the suppression on the vast and malevolent consciousness within him, even… with a self-sacrificing will, ‘inviting’ it out.
Xue Yang stood ten meters in front of him, Calamity already drawn and held horizontally before him. He closed his eyes to focus, regulating his breathing, raising his state to its peak. All his mental energy was contained and condensed, like a bowstring drawn taut, ready to fire. Gojo Satoru stood slightly further away, his Six Eyes fully open behind his sunglasses, monitoring every subtle change in the energy within the field. Ieiri Shoko and Principal Yaga guarded the entrance, their expressions tense.
Time passed minute by minute. The training ground was eerily silent, broken only by the sound of suppressed breathing.
Suddenly, Itadori’s body violently shuddered! An expression of extreme pain contorted his face, veins bulged on his forehead, and black markings seemed to writhe beneath his skin! A vast, violent, and intensely malicious cursed aura, like a ferocious beast dormant for a thousand years, roared awake!
“He’s here!” Gojo Satoru whispered.
Itadori’s face abruptly twisted, and the mouth belonging to Sukuna split open again, letting out an arrogant and excited roar: “Hahahaha!! Foolish brat! To willingly offer your body to this King!!”
Four crimson eyes manifested on Itadori’s face. Sukuna’s consciousness, at this moment, had been forcibly awakened and pushed to the forefront by Itadori, at the cost of his own soul!
Now!
Xue Yang’s eyes snapped open, and the sight of mountains of corpses and seas of blood seemed to reflect in his amber pupils!
Domain Expansion—Hundred Ghosts of the Burial Mounds!
Buzz—!
The chilling, deathly scene of the Burial Mounds instantly descended, engulfing the entire training ground! Dry bones scraped, vengeful spirits shrieked, and the power of mandatory command, like an invisible giant net, precisely enveloped Sukuna’s consciousness, which had just awakened and had not fully adapted to the body!
“You annoying little bug again!!” Sukuna let out a roar of shock and fury. He felt his movements and Cursed Energy circulation severely restricted. That mandatory rule was even attempting to strip him of control over the body!
But he was the King of Curses, and even under the Domain’s suppression, he erupted with terrifying power. Black, ominous Cursed Energy burned like flames, fighting against the Domain’s erosion!
“Xue Yang! Now!” Gojo Satoru shouted. At the same time, he formed hand signs, activating the Limitless technique at full power, completely stabilizing the space within the training ground to prevent energy leakage, while also channeling a massive surge of pure Cursed Energy into Xue Yang from a distance!
Xue Yang felt the surging power within him, his eyes cold as ten thousand years of ice. He gripped Calamity with both hands, pouring all his spirit, will, and understanding of the ‘severing’ principle into the blade!
Calamity hummed with an unprecedented resonance. The blade no longer shone with a murderous cold light, but flowed with a dark trajectory that seemed capable of cutting rules and severing causality!
He locked onto the core of Sukuna’s consciousness, which was struggling and roaring within the Domain, and saw the twisted, tenacious black contractual bond connecting Sukuna and Itadori’s soul!
“Sever—!”
Xue Yang exhaled sharply. Calamity, carrying an unwavering resolve, ruthlessly slashed down towards that invisible bond!
There was no sound, no flash of light.
But in everyone’s perception, it was as if something… had broken.
Like the strongest lute string being silently cut, like the deepest bond being forcibly stripped away!
“No—!!!” Sukuna let out a shriek of extreme agony, filled with disbelief and eternal malice! His consciousness began to violently collapse and dissipate, like a foundationless building! The four crimson eyes were filled with resentment and madness, staring fiercely at Xue Yang, as if trying to drag him into hell!
The Domain of Hundred Ghosts of the Burial Mounds reached its limit at that moment and shattered with a crash!
Xue Yang violently spat out a large mouthful of blood, his face instantly turning the color of gold leaf. He felt as if all his strength had been drained, and he began to fall backward. Calamity slipped from his grasp and clattered onto the ground. Forcing the Domain and the severing principle to confront Sukuna’s fundamental consciousness resulted in devastating backlash.
Gojo Satoru instantly appeared behind him, catching him in his arms. Feeling the chaotic, near-collapsing Cursed Energy and severe spiritual trauma within him, Gojo’s expression was unprecedentedly grim.
In the center of the arena, the moment Sukuna’s consciousness completely dissipated, Itadori Yuji also groaned and fell unconscious. Several wounds appeared on his body, as if torn by an invisible force, and blood flowed freely.
“Shoko!” Gojo Satoru roared.
Ieiri Shoko immediately rushed forward and first checked Itadori’s condition, her brow furrowed. “Vitals are stable, but his soul is damaged, and he has multiple lacerations… immediate treatment is needed!” She then looked at Xue Yang in Gojo Satoru’s arms, her expression growing more serious. “Xue Yang is worse. Severe mental exhaustion, damaged meridians, and Cursed Energy is nearly depleted… he needs long-term rest. Absolutely no Cursed Energy use!”
Gojo Satoru held the weak, unconscious Xue Yang tightly, feeling his cold body temperature, his heart aching with both pain and anger. He lifted Xue Yang into a bridal carry and left a single instruction for Principal Yaga: “I’m leaving this to you.” Then, he vanished instantly.
For the next half month, Xue Yang was forcibly confined to bed by Gojo Satoru for recuperation.
Gojo Satoru stayed by his side almost constantly, personally feeding him water and medicine, using the gentlest healing Cursed Energy to soothe his damaged meridians, and at night, holding him securely in his arms, terrified of any discomfort.
When Xue Yang woke up, he found himself so weak that even getting out of bed was difficult. His temper became extremely volatile, and he met Gojo Satoru’s “overprotection” with various cold sarcasms. He even tried to sneak out of bed to move around, only to be caught by a dark-faced Gojo Satoru, who promptly brought him back and temporarily “fixed” him to the bed using a specialized cursed tool (harmless, but enough to immobilize the current Xue Yang).
“If you move again, I’ll have Shoko give you sleeping pills for half a month,” Gojo Satoru threatened, his tone unusually stern.
Xue Yang was so angry he wanted to bite him, but he didn’t even have the strength to lift his hand, so he could only glare at him resentfully.
However, under Gojo Satoru’s meticulous (and domineeringly possessive) care, Xue Yang’s injuries were indeed recovering slowly and steadily. Color gradually returned to his pale face, and his chaotic Cursed Energy gradually calmed down.
On the other side, Itadori Yuji also woke up under Shoko’s careful treatment. Surprisingly, although his soul was damaged and required time to heal, his body was recovering at an astonishing speed. Even more unexpectedly, when he tried to channel Cursed Energy, a faint, black electric spark, similar in nature to Sukuna’s slashing Cursed Energy, flickered around his fingertips!
He seemed to have unconsciously inherited a portion of Sukuna’s technique! This discovery shocked everyone but also presented new possibilities. This power was undoubtedly dangerous, but if he could control it, it might become Itadori’s new strength.
Half a month later, Xue Yang was finally “approved” by Gojo Satoru for minor activity out of bed. The first thing he did was look for Itadori.
On the training ground, Itadori was carefully trying to control the black electric spark under Nanami Kento’s guidance. Seeing Xue Yang approach, he immediately stopped and offered a complex smile mixed with gratitude and guilt. “Xue Yang! Are you better?”
Xue Yang assessed him and nodded. “As long as you didn’t die.” His gaze fell on the black spark at Itadori’s fingertips, and he raised an eyebrow. “A blessing in disguise, it seems?”
Itadori scratched his head. “I don’t know if it’s a blessing or a curse yet… but I’ll work hard to control it!”
Xue Yang said no more, simply walking to the edge of the field to pick up his Calamity. After half a month of nurturing, Calamity seemed to have recovered some of its spiritual vitality, and the dark glow of the blade was more subdued.
Gojo Satoru walked over and hugged him from behind, resting his chin on Xue Yang’s shoulder, his tone filled with lingering fear and absolute command. “No high-intensity training until you’re fully healed, and absolutely no using your Domain or that power, understood?”
Xue Yang struggled slightly but couldn’t break free. He snorted, which counted as tacit agreement.
Sunlight spilled onto the training ground. In the distance was the figure of Itadori training hard, and nearby were the two embracing. Sukuna’s threat was finally completely eliminated. Although a considerable price had been paid, the future was finally in their own hands.
Xue Yang felt the warm embrace behind him and the concerned murmurs in his ear. Looking at the vibrant scene before him, for the first time, he felt that being managed like this, living a peaceful and hopeful life, seemed… not bad at all.
He tilted his head slightly and touched Gojo Satoru’s cheek.
“I know, you’re noisy.”
