Rebirth In The Days When Curse Gao Was The Boss Chapter 50
byGojo Satoru’s command was like a stone thrown into a lake, creating ripples throughout Jujutsu High. The previously relatively routine campus life suddenly gained a sense of urgency and mission.
Principal Yaga’s office and Ieiri Shoko’s infirmary became the busiest places. Ancient texts, dusty scrolls, and various obscure research reports piled up on desks and floors. Yaga, wearing reading glasses, meticulously flipped through pages detailing secrets written in Old Japanese or even older scripts, attempting to find clues in the dust of history. Ieiri Shoko, meanwhile, used various precision instruments and Cursed Energy detection techniques to repeatedly analyze Itadori Yuji’s physical data, trying to decipher the mystery of Sukuna’s curse combining with the host body. Her brow was often furrowed in concentration.
Okkotsu Yuta, relying on his extensive experience and special connection with Rika, offered many unique insights into the nature of curses, often discussing them with Shoko late into the night. Although Maki and Mai were deeply resistant to the Zenin Clan, they grit their teeth and returned several times for the sake of the mission, searching painstakingly through the moldering archives.
Panda and Inumaki Toge were active in the outer circles, using their respective strengths and connections to contact master Cursed Corpse creators and reclusive Cursed Speech users, asking if there were any secret methods for stripping away powerful consciousnesses or curses. They gathered a lot of strange, yet potentially useless, information.
Fushiguro Megumi and Kugisaki Nobara, in addition to completing their regular missions, constantly watched for any sign of movement related to Sukuna or Uraume. Nobara even voluntarily intensified her intelligence gathering training, trying to filter useful clues from various urban legends and abnormal incidents.
As for Itadori Yuji, he became the focus of intense “care.” Not only did he have to cooperate with Shoko’s various checks and experiments (some processes were uncomfortable), but he also underwent higher-intensity physical and mental training under the rotating “supervision” of Gojo Satoru and Maki. The goal was to better control his body and suppress Sukuna’s consciousness. This process was extremely arduous. Yuji was often exhausted to the point of collapse and acquired many new injuries, but he never complained, his gaze remaining resolute.
Xue Yang’s “recovery” mission was conducted under Gojo Satoru’s almost obsessive supervision. Specially provided desserts, rumored to accelerate recovery, were delivered to him daily in various forms. Training was strictly limited to gentle exercises, and he was ordered to sleep on time every night. At the slightest sign of discomfort, Gojo Satoru would scan him from head to toe with the Six Eyes.
“Hey, are you done yet?” Xue Yang swatted away Gojo Satoru’s hand, which was attempting to check the bruise on his chest again, speaking impatiently. “It healed ages ago.”
Gojo Satoru caught his wrist, his fingertips lightly brushing the much-faded purplish mark. His tone brooked no argument: “If I say it’s not healed, it’s not healed. Sukuna’s claw wasn’t that simple; the residual curse needs time to clear.”
He lowered his head and gently kissed the spot where Xue Yang had been injured, the movement filled with tenderness. “I don’t want to leave any hidden dangers.”
Xue Yang’s body stiffened, his ears turning red. He turned his face away but didn’t struggle further. He could sense the worry and meticulous care beneath Gojo Satoru’s seemingly rogue behavior.
Gojo Satoru also adjusted the training for Domain control. Instead of pursuing extreme suppression and range, he focused more on fine manipulation and endurance. He had Xue Yang attempt to impose different levels of “commands” on various targets within the Domain, or maintain the Domain for longer periods without collapse.
On the training ground, the sight of the Burial Mounds flickered in and out. Xue Yang’s face still turned pale after prolonged maintenance, but he was clearly much more composed than before.
“Not bad. Your understanding of the rules has deepened,” Gojo Satoru stood at the edge of the Domain, feeling the increasingly solid compulsory force, his eyes filled with approval. “Continue. Try to construct a ‘cage’ within the Domain that targets only a specific curse like Sukuna.”
Xue Yang closed his eyes and focused his mind, attempting to mobilize the Domain’s power. Within the scene of mountains of corpses and seas of blood, invisible shackles began to selectively condense, radiating a sense of repulsion and restraint aimed at extreme malice.
Progress was not smooth. Most records in the ancient texts were vague or already lost; Shoko’s research hit a bottleneck. Sukuna’s curse was integrated with Yuji’s host body so tightly, as if they were naturally one, making it difficult to find a safe separation point; the information Maki brought back from the Zenin Clan was mostly ambiguous legends, lacking practical applicability; and Panda and Toge’s efforts yielded little.
An invisible pressure began to permeate Jujutsu High. Days passed, and Sukuna’s threat hung over them like the Sword of Damocles, while the method of separation seemed impossibly distant.
Late one night, Yuji fell asleep exhausted after training. In his hazy consciousness, he thought he heard Sukuna’s malicious low laugh echoing in the depths of his mind, startling him awake, drenched in cold sweat.
Gojo Satoru also found sleep difficult. He stood by the dormitory window, looking out at the silent night. The Six Eyes seemed to pierce the void, seeing the massive shadow lurking within Yuji’s body. He knew they had to speed up.
The next day, he gathered the core group for a progress summary.
Yaga rubbed his throbbing temples: “From the ancient texts, I found a few records of old rituals concerning ‘soul stripping’ or ‘consciousness expulsion,’ but the conditions are either harsh or the risks are extreme, and we cannot confirm if they are effective against an entity of Sukuna’s caliber.”
Shoko sighed: “Physiological separation seems almost hopeless. The Cursed Energy circuits of the two are deeply intertwined. Forcing a separation would likely cause Yuji to… collapse.”
Okkotsu Yuta added: “Perhaps… we could approach it from the angle of ‘contracts’ or ‘binding vows’? Sukuna was initially sealed in the fingers in some form; perhaps there are rules we don’t know about.”
Maki’s news pointed to a possible direction: “The Zenin Clan has a damaged notebook that mentions a forbidden jujutsu called ‘Soul Prison Stripping.’ It is said to be able to forcibly separate symbiotic entities, but the conditions and methods for casting it are missing, and… the cost is unknown.”
“Soul Prison Stripping…” Gojo Satoru chewed on the words, his gaze flickering behind his sunglasses. “It doesn’t sound like a gentle method.” He looked at Shoko and Yuta. “Continue to delve into the ideas of ‘binding vows’ and ‘contracts.’ Principal Yaga, please focus on tracking down clues related to this ‘Soul Prison Stripping.’ Do not overlook any trace.”
He paused, then looked at Xue Yang, who had been silent. “Xue Yang, your Domain, that rule of compulsory command—if developed to the extreme, could it simulate an effect similar to a ‘binding vow’ or ‘imprisonment,’ specifically targeting Sukuna’s consciousness?”
Xue Yang raised his eyes, a cold glint flashing in his amber pupils. “I can try.”
After the meeting, Gojo Satoru kept Xue Yang behind.
“Under a lot of pressure?” Gojo Satoru looked at him, his tone less flippant than usual.
Xue Yang snorted. “I’m fine.”
“Don’t pretend to be tough.” Gojo Satoru reached out and ruffled his hair. “I know you don’t like this feeling of passively searching.”
Xue Yang slapped his hand away, his eyes sharp. “Find the method, then kill him. It’s that simple.”
Gojo Satoru smiled. “Yes, it’s that simple.” He put an arm around Xue Yang’s shoulder. “Come on, I found a new crepe shop today. They say the mango flavor is absolutely divine.”
The path to finding a solution remained long and arduous, and the atmosphere within Jujutsu High was alternately tense and relaxed. But no one gave up. They knew this was not just about saving a comrade, but about fighting a massive threat capable of overturning the world.
Then, during a seemingly ordinary Grade 2 mission, Fushiguro Megumi and Kugisaki Nobara unexpectedly sensed an extremely faint, yet inherently cold and pure, residual Cursed Energy in the remnants of a recently exorcised curse—it was identical to Uraume’s power!
This discovery was like a faint lighthouse illuminating a lost path. Perhaps, by finding Uraume, they could find more clues about Sukuna’s fingers, and even the method of separation!
A new direction seemed to be right before them. And the steps of the Jujutsu High personnel became more determined and hurried. They knew the race against time had entered a much more critical phase.
