Chapter Index

    Extra Chapter 1 (Part 2)

The autumn night outside was quiet and beautiful, but the air inside the room was somewhat scorching.

    Thick and ambiguous.

Bai Zhi lifted both hands to cup Xie Yuzhan’s cheeks, his eyes curved into crescents, his voice laced with laughter. “Honestly, no, I really didn’t. I had no idea what was going to happen, but—

“Because it’s you, I don’t need to prepare for anything. No matter what, you won’t hurt me. Understanding just that is enough. I don’t understand the rest, I don’t know how to do it, Big Brother, teach me~”

Xie Yuzhan gazed deeply at Bai Zhi.

The pure white wedding dress and the indigo blue sheets contrasted with each other, making the person immersed in the moment appear even more radiant and pure than the moonlight.

Facing the unknown, Bai Zhi was inevitably a little tense, but he showed no trace of wariness. His smiling eyes were bright and brilliant, filled with trust and affection, offering this sentiment openly to him.

Nothing could be more moving than this.

In the beginning, he was so afraid of Xie Yuzhan that his voice trembled when he spoke, yet now he was calmly handing over control to him.

This subtly soothed the fierce beast lurking in the depths of Xie Yuzhan’s heart.

He leaned down and kissed his lover, using some force to hold Bai Zhi’s waist. Under the warm yellow light, the other party’s eyes gradually became misty, making those caramel-brown eyes look like amber hidden in a thin fog.

    Unbelievably beautiful.

His hand rested on Bai Zhi’s tailbone, his voice low and hoarse. He said one last time, “If you don’t want to, or if you feel uncomfortable, you can call a stop or refuse at any time. I said this before, and it still holds true now.”

Bai Zhi trembled slightly. He didn’t think he was that sensitive, but Xie Yuzhan’s hand felt like some kind of switch; wherever it touched, things felt slightly off.

A tingling sensation made his waist instantly go weak.

He took a breath, looked up to kiss Xie Yuzhan, and then lay back down securely, smiling. “I’ve heard that so many times my ears are practically calloused. I know, don’t worry. I would never do something I didn’t want to do; I won’t let myself suffer. Come on, stop dawdling.”

Heaven knew what the sound of the other party’s voice felt like in his ears—it was like tiny hooks.

    It made his heart itch.

Xie Yuzhan responded to Bai Zhi’s words with a kiss. The ripples in his deep gaze had already turned into crashing waves. It was this very innocence and purity that was so alluring.

The moment to pluck that red apple had finally arrived.

After several deep and shallow kisses, Bai Zhi had given up on thinking.

As Xie Yuzhan’s kisses trailed down his Adam’s apple and collarbone, Bai Zhi stared wide-eyed at the pattern on the ceiling molding. The hands resting on the other party’s shoulders trembled slightly, yet he had no thought of escaping.

    This feeling…

It felt like syrup was being poured directly into his veins.

Dopamine and endorphins seemed to be racing, climbing higher and higher until his thoughts and mind were completely filled by the person pressed against him. The profound sense of fulfillment from the inside out made him curl and then weakly stretch out his toes in a mix of pleasure and unbearable sensation.

    It was unfamiliar yet joyful.

Doing this with the person he loved, in the deepest form of possession, brought forth satisfaction and delight, along with a solid sense of belonging. Every tremor brought them closer, fitting them together more tightly.

From body to soul, they were stained with each other’s scent.

This was not a one-sided taking, but a mutual possession.

When the clouds dispersed and the rain stopped, he was limp and exhausted. His brain, soaked in a floating, comfortable sensation, couldn’t function at all. He allowed Xie Yuzhan to pull him into his arms and affectionately kiss away the tears that had somehow appeared at the corners of his eyes.

He nestled lazily against the other man, his voice hoarse, and sighed with emotion, “Tonight, I finally learned another benefit of being human…”

Hearing the vague, satisfied laughter in Bai Zhi’s voice, Xie Yuzhan held the person still immersed in the afterglow securely and chuckled softly, “This is just the beginning, Zhizhi. There are many more ways to enjoy this.”

Bai Zhi lifted his eyelids to look at Xie Yuzhan, the corners of his lips curving up. He had truly experienced what possessiveness meant just now, and the other man genuinely seemed to enjoy biting him, like marking his territory.

    But he liked it too.

These were all expressions rooted in love.

He slowly lifted his foot and scratched Xie Yuzhan’s calf with his toes. He then leaned closer and gently blew a puff of air into the other man’s ear, drawing out his words, “Alright—I look forward to exploring more with Brother Yuzhan!”

It was full of teasing and coquetry.

Xie Yuzhan’s breathing hitched, deepening slightly.

Ten seconds later, he let out a half-helpless laugh, stroked Bai Zhi’s cheek, and exchanged a light peck with him. “Baby, you should be glad this is the first time, or I wouldn’t let you off so easily.”

Bai Zhi couldn’t help but laugh, admitting, “Hubby is great, I like it a lot. Keep up the good work in the future~”

He was adding fuel to the fire.

Xie Yuzhan ended up pinning Bai Zhi down and kissing him thoroughly before carrying him to the bathroom to clean up. This little ancestor truly knew how to tease.

Even during the cleanup, he didn’t forget to cause him some harmless little trouble.

What could Xie Yuzhan do? He could only kiss him again and again. For the first time, he didn’t want to wear him out too much. There would be plenty of time in the future, little bunny.

Back in bed, Bai Zhi yawned, curled himself up, and snuggled into Xie Yuzhan’s embrace. He rubbed against the crook of the other man’s shoulder, still thinking about the wedding dress. He mumbled softly, “Remember to keep the dress… Whether I wear it again or not, I want to keep it…”

Xie Yuzhan tucked the blanket around them and gently stroked Bai Zhi’s soft hair, responding warmly, “Of course. It’s part of our beautiful memory, worth collecting.”

    “Mmm…”

Bai Zhi mumbled a response. Curled up in his lover’s arms, he quickly drifted off to sleep.

Holding the warm Bai Zhi, a sigh of satisfied relaxation escaped Xie Yuzhan’s lips.

From the time his parents passed away until he met Bai Zhi, he had never considered his own emotional needs. The most important, and only important, thing in his life was revenge.

But Bai Zhi gave him another choice.

Revenge was his duty to his parents, his friends, and himself, but life shouldn’t only be filled with hatred. Love could grow simultaneously. It was the other party’s arrival that brought him this rare and precious feeling.

Despite a less-than-pleasant start and some accidental misunderstandings, they had fortunately made it this far.

He wasn’t without longing and anticipation for love. After all, his parents were deeply in love, and through osmosis, he naturally imagined what kind of person he would build his own family with, feeling that person was vague and far away.

After meeting Bai Zhi, all those imaginings took concrete form.

    What is love?

    What is happiness?

It was all in the small moments of their time together—a kiss, a hug, a thought, a desire, every laugh, and every glance. All were outward manifestations of love.

Take the present moment, for example: his beloved was sleeping peacefully in his arms, the night quiet. This was the happiness his parents had once described to him.

    A good night’s sleep.

When Bai Zhi woke up the next morning, he was greeted with a light kiss, which made the soreness and slight aches all over his body seem insignificant.

He tilted his face up to nuzzle Xie Yuzhan, humming and clinging to him. His voice was slightly husky, instantly revealing what they had been up to the night before.

He mumbled with his eyes closed, “My back is so sore, Brother, rub it for me~”

Xie Yuzhan obligingly massaged Bai Zhi’s back carefully and asked, “What do you want to eat? How about some congee and then some dessert?”

Bai Zhi blinked, his mind slowly starting to work, and nodded. “Good~ I want what you make.”

    “No problem.”

Bai Zhi hugged the Pikachu plush that Xie Yuzhan handed him after he got up. He kept the video call open and chatted idly with the person making breakfast in the kitchen.

He squinted his eyes, growing more and more satisfied. This high-mountain flower with a great physique, handsome looks, and exceptional temperament was his. He was the one and only flower in his Grass Kingdom.

Unique and very much loved by the bunny.

When Xie Yuzhan returned with the tray, Bai Zhi was still lazily nestled in the covers. He placed the breakfast on the round table next to the cloud-shaped nest. The sun was nice, perfect for basking in the warmth.

He walked to the bed, dug the little rabbit out, and carried him off to wash up.

Bai Zhi sat on the vanity, which was covered with two thick layers of blankets. While holding his toothbrush, he carefully examined himself in the mirror. Well, he hadn’t noticed before, but now he was a little startled.

He hadn’t paid attention to himself in the small video frame earlier.

Now, looking closely, there were red eyes, slightly chapped and swollen lips, and! Various marks from his neck to his collarbone and chest—some bitten, some sucked…

In short, he was covered in love bites.

He spat out the foam, washed his face, and after Xie Yuzhan dried him off, he poked the other man hard on the chest with his finger. He put on a serious face and said, “Aha, CEO Xie—

“I strongly suspect you really do want to eat the bunny!

“Look at all these teeth marks!”

Xie Yuzhan leaned his hand on the counter, moving closer to Bai Zhi, who had just discovered the marks, and replied earnestly, “Didn’t I already eat you last night?

“Baby, a little bunny can be eaten again and again. Leaving these teeth marks is a sign. My little bunny can only be eaten by me.”

Bai Zhi pursed his lips and blinked nervously.

Well, he definitely wouldn’t misunderstand the meaning of “eating the bunny” now. This kind of “eating the bunny” could certainly be done again and again, but wasn’t it deadly in a different way!

However, if Xie Yuzhan said the teeth marks were a sign…

He cleared his throat, lifted his chin slightly, and subtly examined Xie Yuzhan’s neck. He said seriously, “Then I want to bite you back.”

Xie Yuzhan naturally didn’t object, even cooperating by unbuttoning the top button of his shirt. “No problem, Zhizhi. Bite wherever you want.

    “Bite until you are satisfied.”

Bai Zhi narrowed his eyes and considered for five seconds. After measuring the distance, he leaned in and bit Xie Yuzhan’s neck with an “aow” sound. He bit down hard and even ground his teeth back and forth several times.

When he was satisfied and let go, he kissed the tooth mark he had left, pointed at Xie Yuzhan, then pointed at himself, emphasizing, “Mine!”

Xie Yuzhan paused. Bai Zhi might not have noticed, but his tongue had touched his skin several times while biting.

    It felt like foreplay.

He turned his head and looked in the mirror. Good. The little bunny was clever. Even if all the shirt buttons were fastened, this spot couldn’t be completely covered. Although showing such marks was not his usual style—it was too flamboyant—

    He was extremely pleased.

He couldn’t help but love the possessiveness coming from his lover. It meant the same thing as the marks he had left—a declaration of ownership.

He straightened his collar and lightly kissed Bai Zhi’s still-red and swollen lips. “Baby, I have an online video conference this afternoon. I mentioned it to you yesterday. Are you going to let me appear in front of everyone like this?”

Bai Zhi hummed, muttered a quick “yes, you are,” and then pushed Xie Yuzhan’s hand away and jumped off the vanity. He tried to walk out by himself, but his legs went weak. Fortunately, the other man quickly scooped him back into his arms.

Their eyes met, and they smiled, sharing a tacit understanding.

In the end, Xie Yuzhan carried him to change clothes and settled him on the soft sofa by the floor-to-ceiling window.

He nestled beside his lover, drinking congee, eating savory steamed dumplings with vegetable filling, and enjoying a delicate, soft, sweet Pikachu cake roll. Basking in the warm autumn sun, the entire bunny was the epitome of contentment.

After they finished their brunch, he went back to sleep, while Xie Yuzhan sat by the headboard with his laptop, keeping him company, handling some work, and following up on the wedding preparations.

According to Xie Yuzhan, he had started preparing for the make-up wedding the moment Bai Zhi moved out.

Bai Zhi hugged Xie Yuzhan’s waist, imagining their wedding, but he couldn’t quite picture it. Mr. Wolf said he wanted to surprise him and wouldn’t let him interfere. All he knew was that the venue was next to the sunroom in the backyard; he knew nothing else.

Lu Qinghe had teased him about being a hands-off manager, and Xie Yuzhan was truly indulgent, agreeing to everything.

The other man definitely spoiled him.

And he completely trusted Xie Yuzhan.

Even with the wedding dress as a precedent, it didn’t change his mind. CEO Xie was very reliable, and the facts had proven that the wedding dress was prepared quite well… *cough*.

As the wedding day approached, at Xie Yuzhan’s suggestion, Bai Zhi stayed at Lu Qinghe’s place for a day, all for the sake of secrecy.

Therefore, when he saw the wedding setup, a sudden wave of emotion welled up in his eyes.

The main color scheme of the lawn wedding was a fresh, natural green, accented with warm, bright light orange. It was undoubtedly a plant theme. Most of the decorations were vegetables and fruits, along with many familiar flowers and grasses, including but not limited to snow lotus and strawberry saxifrage.

It was practically a paradise for a herbivorous pika baby!

In addition, there were snack stalls, a cold buffet area, a game zone… It was dazzling and interesting. The tiered wedding cake, adorned with wildflowers, was also eye-catching and exactly his style.

He had perfectly captured the bunny’s preferences.

He looked at Xie Yuzhan beside him, his eyelashes trembling slightly. He held back his tears, determined not to cry today.

He took several slow, deep breaths to calm himself, then smiled. “I love everything you prepared. Everything, absolutely everything.”

Xie Yuzhan took Bai Zhi’s hand and handed him a bouquet made of various grasses and flowers. He curved his lips and said, “It’s only truly worthwhile and meaningful if you like it.”

    “Mhm!”

Bai Zhi clutched the bouquet tightly and walked down the petal-strewn aisle under the gaze of their friends and family. It was a make-up wedding, but the sincerity was not diminished in the slightest; rather, it was magnified before his eyes.

The ceremony wasn’t complicated, but all the essential parts were included.

He felt a little light-headed. This wedding felt like a dream—perfect and beautiful. To be precise, a dream wouldn’t be better than this moment.

It wasn’t until they exchanged rings and Xie Yuzhan wrapped his arms around his waist, pulling him close, that the touch of his lover gave him a sense of grounded reality.

He blinked, and amidst the cheers of the crowd, he whispered, “I haven’t even had a drink yet, but I feel a little drunk.”

Xie Yuzhan gazed into Bai Zhi’s sun-drenched eyes, held the hand clutching the bouquet, and raised the flowers to shield their faces. He leaned in and said, “That’s naturally because…”

The unfinished words were swallowed between their lips.

    Everything today was intoxicating.

Love was the strongest, most enduring wine.

Bai Zhi’s eyes curved into crescents. He allowed himself to sink into his lover’s deep, gentle gaze. If he was drunk, so be it. The feeling of being blissfully happy was wonderful.

It brought peace and a sense of longing.

This love, which transcended species and overcame genetics, finally settled at this moment, blossoming into vigorous flowers—resilient and brilliant.

One bloom after another, without end.

    Eternal.
