Chapter 82: The Merman Comes Ashore

The laboratory door opened, Song Qiuyi went in alone, leaving the two others who came with him to wait outside. He found something to wrap Yan Ye in to conceal him, then called the people outside to come in, “Carry this.”

“What is this?” asked one of the men disguised as security personnel.

Both were mercenaries hired by Song Qiuyi at a high price. Song Qiuyi finished packing the things he needed to take, gave him a cold glance, “Don’t ask unnecessary questions, hurry up, it’ll be too late if we delay.”

The employer’s temper didn’t seem very good. The man who asked the question pursed his lips, put the object on the ground onto his shoulder, “Damn, this thing is really heavy.”

Song Qiuyi turned back to glare at him, “Be careful.”

His other companion gestured for him to be quiet and quickly complete the task.

Midway through the journey, Yan Ye had Song Qiuyi stop the car once, then poured the water from the barrels onto his tail, performing a simple hydration.

“Is this enough?” Song Qiuyi asked in surprise. He had thought Yan Ye would need to put his entire tail in, like before in the laboratory.

Yan Ye replied with a smile, “What did you think? We’re on the run right now, do I have the leisure to soak my tail?”

Song Qiuyi said “Oh” and continued driving.

When they arrived at the port, it was already twilight. There was a boat at the port that Song Qiuyi had prepared. It was the same boat as last time, but the facilities inside had changed greatly. Yan Ye’s water tank had been enlarged considerably again. There were also many decorative large rocks, coral trees, and seaweed inside. With these things decorating it, the large water tank didn’t look so monotonous anymore.

As soon as they were on the ship, Yan Ye actively entered the water tank. He finally understood what dry human skin felt like. During this entire escape, he had lost quite a few scales from his body, just like human skin drying and shedding flakes.
