Chapter 5 Werewolf Male Supporting Character
Yan Ye came back a bit late tonight. Seeing that he had not returned for a long time, Chen Ran was initially a little worried. Later, Nan Ni comforted him, saying, “Maybe Brother Yan has already found his friend.”
With Nan Ni’s comfort, Chen Ran felt much relieved. He just went to knock on Song Xiao’s door when he heard a heart-wrenching cough from inside.
Chen Ran was a little worried, so he just opened the door and went in, “Are you okay? Is your illness getting worse?”
Nan Ni put down the washed dishes and also walked in.
The young man looked sickly, with a few drops of blood on his pale lips, making it hard not to feel sorry for him.
“Why did your condition suddenly become so serious?” Chen Ran asked worriedly.
Song Xiao found it difficult to explain to him, just shaking his head, unable to speak.
Nan Ni went to pour him a glass of warm water and carefully helped him up.
Both of them were worried about Song Xiao, overlooking the knocking sound outside the room.
It was Nan Ni’s mother who heard someone knocking and went to open the door for Yan Ye.
Both of them were startled upon seeing each other.
Nan Ni’s mother was not in good health and rarely got out of bed to walk around, so she didn’t know Yan Ye.
However, two days ago, she had heard her daughter say that they had rescued two people who were staying at their home.
Nan Ni’s mother had no reaction to this and even praised her daughter and Chen Ran for being kind.
Yan Ye was the first to react, nodding and greeting, saying gently, “Hello, Auntie, I’m Yan Ye.”
Nan Ni’s mother also slowly reacted, smiled, and looked inside, moving aside to let him in.
Yan Ye followed behind him, seeing the woman’s hunched back, and thought of how soon this kind woman’s fate would end. He felt complicated inside.
He walked with the woman to Song Xiao’s door and heard the heart-wrenching cough. His heart was calm, but his face showed a hint of worry, “You’re so sick, why don’t you go see a doctor!”
Yan Ye’s voice made the three people inside the room notice him. Chen Ran didn’t ask him how he came back, but felt that what he said made sense and nodded to Song Xiao.
Nan Ni’s mother also spoke, unable to bear it, “Although there isn’t much of a hospital here, there are small clinics. Go see a small clinic.”
After saying that, she went back to her room and returned shortly after, stuffing a purse into Chen Ran’s hand.
“I still have some money here. You can take it to pay for this young man’s medical treatment.”
Song Xiao’s coughing finally stopped. He spat out a few words with great difficulty, “Thank you everyone, I’m fine.”
Chen Ran patted his back and shook his head, saying firmly, “I’ll take you to see a doctor tomorrow.”
Song Xiao waved his hand, “No need, Brother Chen, you still have to go to work tomorrow!”
This family relied on Chen Ran for income. If he didn’t work for a day, the family wouldn’t have income for a day and wouldn’t have food.
After he finished speaking, Chen Ran’s face indeed showed a look of struggle.
Yan Ye glanced at Song Xiao, who had his eyes half-lowered, and voluntarily offered, “How about I take him to see a doctor tomorrow?”
“This… Aren’t you looking for your friend? Did you already find him?” Chen Ran asked hesitantly.
Yan Ye shook his head, “Not yet. I probably won’t find him anytime soon. How about I take him to see a doctor first, so you can go to work.”
Chen Ran didn’t agree immediately because he didn’t want to delay Yan Ye’s time searching for his friend.
Seeing his difficulty, Nan Ni volunteered, “How about I take him? I’m free at home anyway, and Mom’s been much better these past two days, she doesn’t need someone by her bed.”
Nan Ni’s mother nodded in agreement.
Chen Ran also wanted to agree, but then he heard Yan Ye say worriedly, “I’ve found a lot of hunters outside these past two days. I heard there are werewolves coming to the Slums. Nan Ni is just a girl, I’m not very comfortable.”
The Werewolf Male Supporting Character, Song Xiao, his body slightly stiffened. His gaze swept towards Yan Ye, his eyes as fierce as ever.
And the matter of who would take Song Xiao to see a doctor finally fell on Yan Ye because Chen Ran and Nan Ni’s mother were also worried about Nan Ni going out after hearing Yan Ye’s words.
When saying goodnight and seeing them out of the room, Yan Ye guaranteed Chen Ran, “Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of him tonight.”
The two words “take care” he said held a deep, ambiguous meaning, unfortunately, Chen Ran and Nan Ni didn’t understand.
As soon as the door closed, the half-dead person lying in bed immediately shrank into the corner.
Yan Ye sat on the edge of the bed, his long legs crossed, his gaze slanted at the person inside, “Fun? Want to play again?”
If the Werewolf Male Supporting Character wanted to play, Yan Ye didn’t mind accompanying him.
The other party was attracting hunters to kill him. If discovered, he himself would be in danger.
But Yan Ye was different. Not many short-sighted werewolves would dare to swing their claws in front of him.
Except for this half-dead Werewolf Male Supporting Character.
Song Xiao was angered by his tone and wanted to curse, but the words that reached his lips turned into a fit of coughing.
The night was late, it was time to sleep.
Yan Ye suddenly looked up, his gaze falling on Song Xiao’s twitching lips.
His gaze made the person feel chills, always feeling that there was another layer of meaning in that look.
A handkerchief was pulled out of his pocket. The next second, Song Xiao’s eyes widened, filled with killing intent.
Just as he wanted to raise his hand to pull off the cloth in his mouth, he heard the old man’s threatening voice, “If you don’t want to be tied up and hung outside the window, you can take the cloth out of your mouth.”
Song Xiao made a muffled sound with his mouth a couple of times, not swayed by his threat. He wanted to move, but then heard the person by his ear chuckle, “There should be more werewolves at night, right?”
Song Xiao, who was originally using his tongue to push the cloth out of his mouth, paused his movement. He lowered his head to look at the cloth that was almost out, swallowed, and slowly pushed the cloth back into his mouth, a hint of humiliation flashing in his eyes.
“Heh…” Yan Ye let out a low laugh. Seeing that he was sensible, he didn’t bother with his constant desire to kill, and lay back on the bed, closing his eyes to rest.
Because his mouth was stuffed with the cloth, Song Xiao’s coughing also became quieter, which made Yan Ye feel much more peaceful.
The next morning, when Chen Ran knocked on the door, Song Xiao’s eyes suddenly lit up. He hoped Chen Ran could come in now, discover his miserable state, and then drive out this abusive old man.
Song Xiao’s wish fell through. The moment Chen Ran pushed the door open and came in, Yan Ye was already awake and used his tall figure to block Chen Ran’s view.
Chen Ran saw that both of them were awake and walked over with a smile, “Morning, how did you sleep last night?”
Because Yan Ye had to take care of someone, and the young brother was not well, he was worried that neither of them had slept well.
Yan Ye took the cloth out of Song Xiao’s mouth. Chen Ran happened to see him taking it out and thought Yan Ye was helping Song Xiao wipe his mouth, so he didn’t suspect anything.
His plan failed, and Song Xiao was in a very bad mood, but in front of Chen Ran, he endured it.
After eating breakfast, the three of them went out together. Chen Ran told them the approximate location of the Clinic and then hurried off to work.
The direction of the Clinic was opposite to the Small Restaurant where Chen Ran worked. After Chen Ran left, Song Xiao’s eyes immediately turned cold.
His current body was so weak and fragile, all thanks to the person beside him.
Yan Ye tossed the purse in his hand, playing with it. Seeing that no one was following, he glanced back at the person behind him, “Going or not?”
“You’re not really going to take me to some Clinic to see a doctor, are you?” Song Xiao gritted his teeth and asked.
“Otherwise? Take you out to play?” Yan Ye said, and continued walking forward.
Since he had taken on this task, regardless of whether the Werewolf Male Supporting Character’s body was good or bad, he had to take him to the Clinic as a formality, and also buy two doses of traditional medicine to bring back and report, so that the family wouldn’t worry.
No matter how unwilling Song Xiao was, he still followed.
After bringing the person to the outside of the Clinic, Yan Ye had no intention of going in. He turned back and gestured to the person behind him, telling him to go in by himself.
“You’re not coming in with me?” Song Xiao asked, not understanding why this person would take him to see a doctor but not go in.
Yan Ye put one hand in his pocket and, hearing the question, his eyes were complicated, “Are you a child? Do you need someone to coax you when you see a doctor?”
Song Xiao’s face turned red with anger. He walked in alone, huffing.
After he left, Yan Ye’s feet left the ground, and he leaped onto the high wall, disappearing from the spot.
The Slums were poor places with few people having money to see a doctor, which was why this place had no business.
Song Xiao walked into the Clinic, and there was only one doctor inside.
Finally, a patient arrived, and the doctor was very enthusiastic.
Song Xiao endured the discomfort, unbuttoned his shirt, and let the doctor examine him.
Although he was a werewolf, he was born from a combination of a werewolf and a human. His pure werewolf bloodline was not present, and he didn’t have to worry about a human discovering his identity.
There were many hunters on the streets during the day. Yan Ye didn’t think of this. As soon as he left the Clinic, he was discovered by several patrolling hunters.
Bows and arrows were drawn, passing by him. Helplessly, Yan Ye had to stop and turn back to engage in a battle of vastly different strength with the two young hunters.
The young hunters were full of vigor. They drew their swords, thinking they could take down this guy who was either a werewolf or a vampire.
Unexpectedly, the opponent’s figure flashed, and he had quietly arrived behind them.
A cold wind swept past behind them, and a gentle voice warned, “Don’t be so rude next time. Shooting arrows on the street is very dangerous.”
The bodies of the two hunters stiffened. When they turned back, their bodies uncontrollably fell forward. They wanted to get up, but there was something heavy on them, and they fell down again.
By the time the people from the Hunter’s Guild found these two members who had left the team, Yan Ye had long since returned to the Castle.
Anna had gone out for revenge again. As soon as Yan Ye arrived at the Castle, he saw the crows on the locust tree startled away, and sounds of fighting came from the garden again.
When he arrived, he happened to see the tall man being beaten down by Anna.
If not for the fact that bloodkins were not easy to kill, the tall man would have already died at Anna’s hands.
Seeing him arrive, the tall man wanted to beg him for help. He no longer dared to look at the young girl in front of him.
Who could tell him why this girl had suddenly become so much stronger?
As the other party was about to touch him with a blood-stained hand, Yan Ye frowned slightly, flashed away, and stood on a locust tree, his eyes filled with cold indifference, without a trace of pity for the heavily wounded man.
Anna was afraid that the King would step in to save this person. Her eyes darkened, her fingers became claws, and she pierced through the man’s chest.
A mouthful of foul blood was spat on the ground. The man saw that the Prince had no intention of saving him. Gritting his teeth, his eyes filled with hatred, he concentrated all his strength, turned around, and fled.
Yan Ye did not stop him. When Anna was about to chase, he said, “In the human world, be careful of hunters.”
Yan Ye did not want to interfere with their feud, merely occasionally giving Anna a few pointers.
