Chapter Eighteen Werewolf Male Supporting Character

Inside the Earl’s manor, a crow just landed on the window ledge. The man sitting by the window immediately rose, a hint of anxiety flashing in his eyes. He hurriedly grabbed a black hooded overcoat, put it on, and pulled open the door to go outside.

Just as he was about to exit the magnificent corridor, he was met by a woman with a graceful figure.

Elina swayed her slender waist as she walked towards him, her bright red lips slowly uttering a few words, “Boy, where are you rushing off to in such a hurry?”

Chen Ran’s footsteps paused for a second. After seeing the playful look in Elina’s eyes, he said in a stiff tone, “Is something the matter?”

More than half a month had passed since the last banquet. Because Elina was able to invite the Prince, she had been greatly praised by her father and envied by other blood kin young ladies during this time, which had kept her in a fairly good mood for the past half month.

Elina, being in a good mood, didn’t mind Chen Ran’s tone when speaking to her. She chuckled and said, “Father wants you to see him.”

Usually, Elina would have mocked him a few times before getting to the important matter.

Chen Ran was very anxious about something. He had already lifted his foot, wanting to go outside, but because his father wanted to see him, he abruptly stopped.

“You seem anxious to go out. How about this, I’ll go tell Father that you don’t have time to see him right now?” Elina said feigning concern, making a move as if to walk back.

Chen Ran changed the direction of his steps, let out a cold snort, and still walked towards where his father was.

Now Elina was deeply favored by her father. If one day she inherited her father’s position, Chen Ran couldn’t imagine if he could still stay within the blood kin.

Within the blood kin, he, Chen Ran, must have a place, even if not for himself, then for her.

Watching the person disappear at the end of the corridor, Elina’s lips curved upwards, and she walked towards the place where the crow had just flown away.

Thinking of how anxious Chen Ran looked when rushing out just now, Elina’s intuition told her it was related to the crow that had just flown away.

The crow flew into a black forest and landed on a dead tree. Its two eyes, like rubies, stared intently at a dilapidated small wooden house ahead.

Elina observed in the shadows for a long time. It wasn’t until she saw someone enter the small wooden house that she walked out from behind the dead tree.

The woman hadn’t come out since entering the wooden house. Elina walked in only to find that there was nothing in the house except for a coffin.

Humans seeing a coffin would walk away, finding it unlucky, but they, the blood kin, were different.

Elina’s fingers traced the coffin lid. She looked around, made sure there was no place to hide a person, then applied a little force and pushed the lid with one hand.

How could this be? Where is the person?

Elina’s expression was startled. The inside of the coffin was not what she expected. The woman who had just entered was not hiding inside the coffin.

It was empty inside, nothing there, and no one.

“Where is the person?” Elina couldn’t help but speak out, her eyes fixed on the coffin.

It wasn’t until she had examined the coffin thoroughly, looking at it carefully, that she found something unusual.

There was a small uneven spot at the bottom of the coffin. Elina touched it with her finger and then pressed it down.

The coffin vibrated for a moment. A few seconds later, a stone staircase leading underground was revealed from the bottom of the coffin.

Elina recovered from the shock, immediately lifted her skirt, and walked inside.

She really wanted to know who this woman was to Chen Ran and why Chen Ran would have a crow monitor this place.

Chen Ran, still in the Earl’s manor, didn’t know that the place and secret he had hidden for years were about to be discovered.

Chen Ran, enduring the immense pressure and the Earl’s condescending gaze, still spoke his true feelings, “Father, your son doesn’t want to get married yet.”

As expected, as soon as Chen Ran’s words of refusal came out, the man’s face, which had been wearing a fake smile, immediately changed.

Earl Cecil tapped the table with his fingertips. His pair of shrewd, calculating eyes revealed a dark intensity, creating psychological pressure on Chen Ran.

Although he didn’t speak, Chen Ran could clearly sense that his father was visibly displeased.

Earl Clade’s daughter was indeed good. Her status and position were more than enough for Chen Ran, but Chen Ran, this mixed-blood blood kin, was not worthy of her.

However, Chen Ran already had someone in his heart, which was why he refused without hesitation.

“Why don’t you want to get married? Do you think Miss Clade is not worthy of you?” The Earl slightly raised his chin, his eyes carrying a scrutinizing gaze.

Chen Ran dared not challenge his authority, so he could only lower his head, “It is your son who is not worthy of her. Miss Clade is of noble status and the only daughter of Earl Clade. Your son is just a half-blood kin, how could I dare say whether I am worthy or not.”

Earl Clade was a devoted vampire. He had only one wife in his life. After his wife fell into a deep sleep, he also fell into a deep sleep, leaving only his only daughter.

This year, this only daughter had just come of age. A month ago, she was just invited to attend a banquet and was taken fancy to by Earl Cecil.

The other party was so naive, unlike what a blood kin should be like. She looked easy to deceive and easy to control.

“You are my son, that status is enough!” The Earl said in a deep voice, his eyes showing no room for doubt.

The identity of the Earl’s son? Chen Ran sneered inwardly, his face showing no emotion. “Does Miss Clade like me?” he said as if compromising.

The Earl said indifferently, “If you don’t pursue her, how can she like you?”

It wasn’t that Chen Ran hadn’t pursued anyone before, but the one he pursued was the person he had loved since he was a child.

Now to make him pursue a Clade he had never met, Chen Ran suppressed the urge to turn around and leave.

He still couldn’t fall out with this nominal father.

Chen Ran’s silence, in the Earl’s eyes, was a silent protest.

The Earl said meaningfully, “Chen Ran, I have high expectations for you. I hope you won’t let down my painstaking efforts.”

The Earl sighed symbolically, “Earl Clade is very likely not to wake up again. By then, the position of Earl Clade will be…”

Chen Ran’s body stiffened. His shoulder was patted twice. The Earl brushed past him, his words from the previous second still echoing in his ears.

Chen Ran didn’t have time to answer anything before the Earl left.

It was night again. Chen Ran, trapped in a predicament, lay on the balcony of his room.

The Earl wanted him to pursue Miss Clade and marry her for the honor behind Miss Clade.

Among the blood kin, if the wife is willing, she can pass on the position of Earl to her husband.

In other words, this is what Cecil wanted.

Just as Chen Ran thought of this, his thoughts were interrupted. A black crow landed on his shoulder, bringing bad news.

Someone entered the black forest and took Nan Ni’s mother.

Chen Ran didn’t have time to think about who took Nan Ni’s mother. His face became unusually grim, and he hurried outside.

Her golden curly hair was a little messy. Elina sneered angrily, “Dead woman, come with me obediently, or I’ll kill you right here!”

The severely wounded woman was gasping for breath, her eyes, which were different from normal people’s, rolled around. She asked, “Who are you?”

Elina let out a sweet laugh, her laughter holding ill intentions, “You’ll know when you see that boy Chen Ran.”

“You have a grudge against Chen Ran,” the woman asked, covering her wound. Although this girl looked good, her attacks were vicious, and she seemed to want to pierce her body with a claw.

Elina looked at her bloodstained fingers and frowned in disgust, “I don’t want to dirty my hands. Are you coming with me obediently, or dying here?”

Cruel words were spoken lightly by her, showing her disregard for life.

Death? For some vampires, death is a terrifying thing, but for those forced to become vampires, death might be a release.

Nan Ni’s mother revealed a relaxed smile, her expression showing no fear of death at all.

“Very good, not afraid of death. Then I’d like to see if you’re truly unafraid, or just pretending.”

Elina’s expression turned fierce. Her black fingernails grew wildly. Her five fingers formed claws, and a pair of fangs were revealed.

Nan Ni’s mother closed her eyes. In her mind were her daughter’s sad, indifferent expressions.

Her daughter has grown up and can stand on her own.

Although Yan Ye was just passing by, having seen this, he couldn’t stand idly by.

Saving a person from Elina’s hands was a very simple matter.

Yan Ye saved her. He simply snapped his fingers, and dense swarms of bats flew towards Nan Ni’s mother, forming a wall of bats in front of her. Only then did Elina stop.

“Who is it?” Elina said in surprise, immediately becoming alert.

Didn’t Chen Ran go to see his father? How could he have found out so quickly?

A powerful aura suddenly attacked from behind her, pressing down on her so much that she could barely breathe. Elina’s face turned pale. As she turned around, her footsteps retreated.

This wasn’t Chen Ran’s aura. He wasn’t this strong. This aura was like…

It was Hill Prince. Elina’s eyes widened, as if confirming that she hadn’t thought wrong or seen wrong.

Yan Ye’s figure slowly entered her pupils, and that powerful aura was also slowly disappearing.

The oppressive feeling was gone. Elina withdrew her shocked gaze, took two steps forward, and performed a standard noble bow, “Your Highness.”

Yan Ye nodded slightly. He looked at the injured woman and showed a gentle smile, “Long time no see, are you well?”

Seven years had passed. Yan Ye was a vampire, and his appearance hadn’t changed much. Only the temperament he had deliberately hidden before was different now.

Nan Ni’s mother was just slightly stunned for a second, then immediately recognized him, “It’s you? You’re the person Chen Ran brought home back then!”

Yan Ye nodded. Under the woman’s confused gaze, he looked at Elina and said with a slightly dangerous smile, “I’m taking this person.”

Elina didn’t know the relationship between the two of them. She still wanted to use the woman in front of her to threaten Chen Ran, “Wait, Your Highness, you cannot take this person.”

“Why?” Yan Ye looked at her with a half-smile, not directly taking the person, but waiting for her to state the reason.

Elina walked up to the woman, looked at her, her eyes carrying murderous intent. When she turned back to face Yan Ye, her face showed difficulty again.

“Your Highness, this woman belongs to my brother Chen Ran. If Your Highness takes her away abruptly, it will be difficult for me to explain to him.”

Yan Ye could see through the intention behind Elina saying this. This woman merely wanted to use his hand to deal with Chen Ran.
