Chapter Index

Does the Lord not like sweets?

The restaurant served food very quickly. Felix guessed it was because Males generally had bad tempers and lacked the patience to wait.

While the waiter was serving the dishes, Felix turned his head to look at the Zerg passing by below. They were mostly Females, with the occasional Male appearing, who could be recognized at a glance.

They were surrounded by Females, looking like celebrities on an outing at first glance.

After finishing his tea, he placed the cup on the table. Just as he was about to reach for it again, someone beat him to the handle. Ryan nimbly poured the tea for him.

The tea steamed. Felix looked down at the pale yellow liquid and the small yellow flowers floating on top, asking casually, What kind of tea is this? It tastes quite good.

This is Yellow Spirit, a specialty of the northern planets, Ryan replied obediently, his back straight and his arms folded neatly on the table. If my Lord likes it, we can buy some to drink at home.

    Felix nodded. Sure.

The taste of this tea was different from any he had drunk before. It had a sweet aftertaste and a very familiar fragrance.

The conversation stalled again. Felix sipped his tea quietly, showing no intention of speaking further. Ryan stole a glance at him hesitantly. After thinking for a long time, he spoke cautiously, I heard that the Marshal and His Majesty also enjoy this tea.

The Marshal and His Majesty were very foreign and distant terms to Felix. He simply nodded and picked up a vegetable ball, placing it on Ryan’s plate. Taste it and see if it is good.

Ryan looked down, pursing his lips slightly as a flash of frustration crossed his eyes.

How could he have forgotten to serve his Lord during the meal? Moreover, Males had always loathed it when their Female Monarchs mentioned people more powerful than themselves. He had actually dared to mention the Marshal and His Majesty in front of his Lord.

But his Lord had given him a vegetable ball. Ryan struggled internally for a moment before taking a bite. Without even waiting to swallow, he praised, It is delicious!

His voice was loud. The forced and stiff praise made Felix wonder privately: did his Female Monarch actually hate vegetable balls?

Before he could think further, he saw Ryan hurriedly pick up a small bowl and scoop a full serving of sweet soup, placing it before Felix.

Lord, his deep blue eyes showed a hint of fawning, please have some sweet soup.

Felix took it and took a sip. His brow furrowed imperceptibly, but seeing Ryan’s expectant gaze, he praised against his conscience, It is good.

The sweet soup tasted more like dough drop soup with sugar instead of salt. To cover up a faint bitterness, an excessive amount of sugar had been added. One sip felt like a thick sludge sticking to his throat, making him lose his appetite instantly.

Felix drank two cups of tea in one go to suppress the cloying sweetness in his throat. He ate another vegetable ball before finally recovering a little.

When he looked up, Ryan was holding the sweet soup, looking at him with slight worry. Lord? Are you feeling unwell?

No, Felix took a sip of the bland vegetable soup. This soup is a bit too sweet.

    Sweet?

Ryan looked at the sweet soup in confusion and took a sip himself, the doubt in his eyes deepening.

The sweet soup tasted fine. When the Lord used to go out to eat with Anka Lucas, did he not like sweet soup very much?

Could it be that this restaurant’s version did not suit his taste? Or was it…

Ryan’s heart beat rapidly. He set down the sweet soup and stole a glance at Felix, pretending to be casual as he asked, Does my Lord not like sweets?

A little, Felix said as he ate some greens, critiquing them in his mind while showing nothing on his face. I do not like things too sweet, but I can accept mild sweetness.

He looked up at the stunned Ryan and asked knowingly, What is wrong?

Back when Ryan ordered the sweet soup, Felix had recalled that the original owner had a strong sweet tooth. This was because the supplies obtained by B-rank Males contained impurities, making them taste bitter.

When Ryan gave him the sweet soup, he had the intention of testing him. Felix did not mind the test, nor did he mind Ryan guessing that he was no longer the original owner. He even felt a bit of anticipation regarding Ryan’s reaction.

But to his disappointment, Ryan only froze for a few seconds before lowering his head and shaking it. No, it is just that you did not like sweets before.

His eyelashes drooped slightly, concealing the panic in his eyes.

The Lord clearly loved sweets before. Why did he say he did not like them now?

Could it be… did the injury really cause such a drastic change in the Lord’s personality?

Ryan drank the sweet soup absentmindedly, unable to tell for a moment whether this was a good or bad thing.

If the Lord remained this good in the future… No, it was impossible. He had never been a lucky Female. The current Lord was surely only temporary. Once his injuries healed, his good days would come to an end.

The Female’s beautiful blue eyes flickered between brightness and gloom. Felix leaned back against the sofa, drinking tea to wash away the cloying sweetness in his mouth.

The food in Zerg restaurants was quite mediocre. All the ingredients carried a faint bitterness. It seemed the Males who graduated from the Male Academy were not all that impressive.

They could not even handle such a simple matter. Little talent but big tempers; they deserved to go extinct.

Felix paused. Why did he suddenly think of extinction?

Based on the current development of the Zerg Race, although there was a large disparity among Females and the Males were becoming increasingly useless, the number of Zerg eggs produced each year was not small, and the number of Males was also growing. No matter what, they would not go extinct.

This thought suddenly appeared in his mind as if he had always thought that way. Felix’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.

Lord? Ryan put down the small porcelain bowl. Are you full?

Felix snapped back to his senses and put down his teacup, a smile playing on his lips. Yes. Are you finished?

He glanced at the bowl of sweet soup on the table, which had barely been touched. Ryan hurriedly said, I am finished. Lord, do you want to take this sweet soup with you?

No, at the mention of the sweet soup, Felix felt as if his throat was being coated in sludge again. No, no. If you like it, I will make some for you when we get back.

Ryan was about to refuse, but before the words could leave his mouth, he thought of Felix’s cooking. His mouth immediately began to water, and the sweet soup in front of him became utterly tasteless.

A waiter came in to collect the payment. Seeing both Felix and Ryan in the room, the waiter paused slightly before walking toward Ryan.

Most of the customers here were Females. Their positioning was a restaurant for both Females and Males, but Males rarely set foot in their shop.

It was rare to see a Male today, let alone one so handsome with rare black hair and black eyes. The waiter stole an extra glance at Felix. Seeing this, Ryan silently moved to block Felix from view.

The Sub-female waiter smiled apologetically and handed the bill to Ryan. Hello, that will be one hundred and ninety-eight Zerg coins in total.

The moment she saw Ryan clearly, the Sub-female’s expression changed slightly, and she suddenly became wary.

She stole a glance at the tall and imposing Male nearby, sighing inwardly: What is the use of being good-looking? He is probably just like those other Males. Poor Major General Ryan.

Ryan took the bill and looked down at the items. He rubbed the bridge of his nose awkwardly, not noticing the Sub-female’s pitying gaze.

Lo… Lord, Ryan looked down, clutching the bill, not daring to look back at Felix. I… I do not have…

I will do it, Felix took the initiative to transfer one hundred and ninety-eight Star coins to the waiter. Did you receive it?

The Sub-female was stunned. Meeting the Male’s cold gaze, she suddenly snapped out of it. I received it, Your Excellency.

Felix gave her a polite smile, then took Ryan’s hand and walked slowly out of the small wooden hut.

The Sub-female left behind was dazed for a moment, a question slowly forming in her mind: Was this Excellency really the Male who had torn off Major General Ryan’s wings?

Felix and Ryan were completely unaware of the Sub-female’s confusion. Just as they walked down the wooden stairs, they ran into another couple.

Felix’s gaze landed on the other person’s hair. It was black, just like his.

Looking down at the eyes hidden behind eyelashes, Felix suddenly felt a surge of goodwill.

This person not only had black hair like him but even his pupils were black.

The person opposite seemed very surprised as well, staring at his face for a long time without coming back to his senses.

The prolonged staring had already exceeded the bounds of politeness. Felix’s goodwill toward him quickly dropped to negative.

He glanced at the man and was about to lead Ryan away when he heard the Female beside the black-haired Male call out, Ryan!

Felix stopped in his tracks, his eyes asking Ryan: Do you know them?

Ryan nodded and introduced, He is my… former colleague, Major General Bowa, and his Lord, His Excellency Alec.

Felix looked at Alec and found that not only did he have black hair and black eyes, but even his face carried a hint of softness that was similar to his own features.

The goodwill that had dropped to negative barely recovered. He hesitated for a moment and gave a slight nod as a greeting.

Alec quickly reacted and also gave a slight nod in response, withdrawing the gaze that had been fixed on him.

Felix’s expression softened. Noticing Ryan following behind him, he whispered, Do you want to say hello?

Ryan’s dim blue eyes hesitated for a moment, then he tilted his head slowly and uncertainly. Is that okay?

Of course, Felix laughed in spite of himself. I will wait for you outside.

Ryan’s eyes widened instantly. How can that be!

As if afraid that Felix would really go wait for him at the entrance, Ryan ignored decorum and grabbed Felix’s arm. I… I will not say hello.

The opposite Alec seemed to notice something. He placed a hand on his Female Monarch and smiled slightly at Felix. Your Excellency Felix, I did not expect to meet you here.

Ryan said this restaurant was recommended by his colleague, Felix’s gaze swept quickly over Bowa. The taste is quite good.

Of course, this is my favorite restaurant, Alec smiled. I cannot wait to taste the food.

The implication was: if there is nothing else, hurry up and leave, I am starving.

Felix led Ryan half a step aside. Your Excellency Alec, goodbye.

Alec led Bowa upstairs. At the moment they brushed past each other, Alec turned his head slightly, revealing a proper smile. Goodbye, Your Excellency Felix.

After the brief encounter, the four of them quickly parted. Felix maintained his posture, turning his head slightly. As expected, he caught Alec looking back at him.

Their gazes met briefly for a second. Alec quickly turned back as if nothing had happened, but Felix clearly felt his scrutinizing gaze.

Could it be that Alec and the original owner knew each other?

Lord? Seeing that Felix was still turned sideways looking back, Ryan followed his gaze. Bowa was waving at him from the small platform on the second floor.

He held his breath and, taking advantage of Felix not paying attention, quickly waved back. Before Felix turned around, he returned to his cautious and submissive appearance.

Felix did not notice their small interaction. As he left the restaurant, he was still thinking about the brief glance Alec gave him.

It was basically certain that Alec knew him.

It was just… why was there absolutely no sign of Alec in the original owner’s memories?
