Chapter Index

    Good Male Master

“It’s okay, I can do it.”

Felix had long expected this. His skills were quite good; while not comparable to a five-star chef, he could be considered a high-end cook.

If it weren’t for the frequent wars in his past life requiring him to be at the front lines, he would have actually wanted to open a restaurant.

Felix rolled up his sleeves and checked the instructions for the various kitchen utensils, completely unaware of how shocked Ryan was behind him because of those words.

A pampered Male was actually going to cook?!

One must know, no Male would ever go near a dangerous kitchen!

    “Ryan?”

Having roughly figured out how to use the kitchen, Felix turned around and leaned against the counter, beckoning to Ryan. “Come here.”

“Male Master,” Ryan swallowed nervously, “Are you… are you really going to cook yourself?”

“Actually, the restaurants on Capital Star all serve natural vegetables. How about I take you there to try some?”

“Is that so?” Felix said thoughtfully. “I thought natural vegetables were so expensive that basically no one would choose to cook them.”

“Actually, most high-ranking Males choose to eat natural vegetables,” Ryan explained in a low voice. “It’s just that the price of natural vegetables is too exorbitant, so…”

So the original owner couldn’t afford to eat them, and all of Ryan’s money had gone toward reparations, so naturally, there was no way to take the original owner to eat them.

Looking at Ryan’s head, which was hanging lower and lower, Felix reached out to brush the stray hairs on his forehead and said softly, “Ryan, there’s no need to be so restrained at home.”

Ryan’s lips were tightly pressed together, clearly not quite believing him.

Felix sighed, feeling it was necessary to make things clear.

“We will be living together for a long time,” Felix paused, then thought of something and corrected himself. “Actually, not necessarily. If one day you have a… bug you like, you can tell me.”

With a thud, Felix’s words were interrupted. He looked down at Ryan, who had suddenly knelt, and felt a breath catch in his throat, making him feel incredibly stifled.

“Male Master, I beg you, please don’t give me away,” Ryan’s mind went blank. He trembled as he tried to grab the hem of Felix’s trousers but couldn’t seem to get a grip. “I beg of you.”

Female Slaves were allowed to be given away at will. Ryan had seen the ends of those Female Slaves; most were quite tragic.

His body was cold and shaking uncontrollably, so much so that he didn’t even react when Felix pulled him into his arms.

“I didn’t say I was going to give you away,” Felix corrected helplessly. “I just said… forget it, let’s talk about something else.”

Felix knelt in front of Ryan and gently wiped away his tears. “Don’t cry anymore. I said the wrong thing.”

Ryan sobbed violently twice and looked at him with tearful eyes. “Really?”

    “Truer than gold.”

    “What is gold?”

“…It’s something good,” Felix quickly bypassed this difficult-to-explain topic. “Alright, let’s talk about something else.”

Ryan continued to sob, “Are you still going to give me away?”

“I’m not giving you away.” Felix felt his legs going numb, so he simply pulled Ryan to sit on the floor, propped up his chin, and continued, “In the future, I won’t hit or scold you, nor will I force you to do things you don’t like. Since we’re going to live together for a long time, we have to follow the rules.”

Ryan’s grey eyes revealed panic. “I will follow the rules, Male Master.”

Felix glanced at him. “Are you sure?”

Ryan nodded desperately. “I am sure, Male Master.”

    “Good, then stand up first.”

Ryan hurried to scramble up from the floor.

Felix calmly held out his hand to him. “Give me a pull, my legs are numb.”

Ryan was stunned for a moment, then quickly took his hand and pulled him up from the floor.

Their hands met briefly and then separated naturally. Felix inconspicuously rubbed his fingertips, leaned against the counter, and continued, “In the future, you are not allowed to kneel for no reason, especially not at my door in the middle of the night.”

    “But…”

Felix had long expected him to say that, so he cut him off. “You just promised me you would follow the rules.”

Ryan frowned in conflict. “…Yes, Male Master.”

“In the future, you are not allowed to kneel to others outside either, even if the other party is a Male.”

    “But…”

“Ryan,” Felix brushed the long hair from his forehead and looked down into his eyes. “You just promised me.”

    “…Yes, Male Master.”

“If you run into trouble outside, run home first, okay?”

Ryan blinked and nodded blankly. “Yes, Male Master.”

“That’s all for now.” Felix couldn’t think of any other requirements, so he asked Ryan, “Do you have any requests?”

“No, Male Master.” Ryan looked up obediently, a strand of hair resting submissively on Felix’s index finger, looking very much like golden silk.

It just lacked luster, making one feel more distressed the more they looked at it.

Felix couldn’t help but rub his head. “Very good. Now tell me, how do I buy some natural vegetables?”

“You can just place an order on the optical computer.” Ryan opened his optical computer interface but hesitated when it came time to order. “Male Master…”

He was hesitant to speak. Felix crossed his arms and said, “In the future, if there’s something, tell me directly.”

Ryan’s body stiffened, and he lowered his head in shame. He whispered, “Male Master, I don’t have any money to buy vegetables.”

“It’s fine, I have some.” Felix opened his own optical computer. While checking his balance, he asked Ryan, “How much do we need?”

Ryan stole a quick glance at Felix. “Male Master, Female Slaves have no way to shop.”

“What’s going on?” Felix hadn’t expected this. “Even if I give you money, it won’t work?”

Ryan shook his head. “Female Slaves are not allowed to have money.”

“Then what is allowed to have money?” Felix frowned, searching his mind for two words. “…Female Monarch?”

Hearing this, Ryan’s face turned pale, and his head hung even lower. “Both Female Monarchs and Female Attendants can, but I am a Sinful Female…”

No Male would be willing to take a Sinful Female as a Female Attendant, let alone a Female Monarch, especially since he no longer had his wings or his job in the military.

“So a Sinful Female cannot be a Female Monarch?” Felix asked.

“No,” Ryan explained softly. “Sinful Females have low status. No Male is willing to have a Sinful Female as a Female Monarch.”

After saying this, he carefully glanced at Felix again, his heart inexplicably anticipating what shocking things this Male, whose personality had changed so much, would do next.

After a dozen seconds of silence, Felix handed his optical computer to Ryan. “Use my optical computer to place the order first.”

The process of making Ryan a Female Monarch would certainly not be smooth, Felix thought calmly. How could one have the strength to argue with those old traditionalists without a full stomach?

Ryan silently took the optical computer, hiding the disappointment in his eyes.

As expected, was he being too greedy…

His emotions were well-hidden, so much so that Felix, who was fully focused on shopping, didn’t notice.

There weren’t many types of vegetables on the optical computer, but to Felix’s delight, there were wheat and rice.

The price of rice and wheat was much lower than that of vegetables. Felix didn’t hesitate and had Ryan order three large bags of each.

The technological advantages of the Zerg Race became apparent at this moment. Less than ten minutes after placing the order, the package was delivered to the doorstep.

Felix signed for the order, put the delivery box in the kitchen, and took out the green vegetables to start washing them.

Ryan stood beside him, placing the seasonings and spices into the small cabinet next to the door. He then stood aside at a loss, watching Felix prepare the food with fluid movements.

Although natural vegetables were rare in the Zerg Race, there was a rich variety of meats and seasonings.

Felix set the vegetables aside, picked up each seasoning to smell it, and even tasted some, which made Ryan frown.

“Male Master, how about… how about I do it instead?”

Letting a noble Male enter the kitchen, Ryan felt he must have lived long enough.

“No need, go wait outside.” Felix avoided Ryan’s dissuading hand and turned to open the delivered meat.

The price of meat was extremely low; a large piece of a hind leg from an unknown fresh beast cost only a dozen star coins. However, the moment he opened the package, Felix’s brow furrowed tightly.

Unlike the fresh and succulent natural vegetables next to it, this huge piece of hind leg meat was densely covered with black spots—of course, these could only be detected with Mental Power.

The moment he saw the meat, Ryan frowned and stood firmly in front of him.

“Male Master, why would you buy such a thing?!” Ryan’s voice was anxious and sharp. “This kind of meat is only used by the lowest-level Females!”

After saying this, he suddenly thought of something and slowly turned to look at Felix. “Are… are you buying this for me?”

Felix didn’t understand what he was talking about, but the moment he looked down, his heart constricted sharply.

He saw a layer of despair in those dull blue eyes. Ryan’s face was pale as he pleaded humbly, “I beg of you, I will die if I eat this.”

This meat contained a large amount of substances that caused Mental Riots in Females. Low-level Females wouldn’t have their lives endangered by eating it, but a 2S-rank Female would definitely die from a Mental Riot if they ate it.

“What’s all this about dying?” Felix reached out to brush the hair from Ryan’s forehead, pushed him to the living room to sit down, and poured a cup of hot tea into his hand. “Sit for a while, I’ll be done soon.”

Ryan froze mechanically on the sofa. Hearing the sound of Felix’s footsteps returning to the kitchen, his eyes were filled with dead silence.

Felix hadn’t expected the meat to be so complicated with impurities, but it wasn’t a big problem; he could just remove them with Mental Power.

Felix hummed a little tune, pondering recipes in his mind. In a few minutes, he had completely removed all the impurities from the hind leg meat.

The large piece of meat was cleaned and cut into small pieces to be stored in the refrigerator. Felix took out one small piece of meat to use for stir-frying, but thinking of Ryan in the living room, he put the meat back and took out a larger piece.

He heard that Military Females ate a lot; this piece of meat should be enough, right?

Felix cut the meat into cubes, then skillfully heated the oil in the pan. Soon, crackling sounds came from the kitchen.

Even though he hadn’t cooked for a long time, Felix’s movements were still very fast. In half an hour, he had stir-fried two dishes and cooked a pot of vegetable and minced meat porridge.

    “Dinner’s ready!”

Felix called out, brought the dishes to the table, and looked at his masterpiece with satisfaction.

“Male Master,” Ryan hesitated as he shuffled over to Felix, his head hanging very low, his chin almost touching his neck. “I was wrong, please punish me.”

“I’ll punish you by eating at least three bowls of rice.” Felix picked up a piece of meat and held it to his lips, looking at him expectantly. “Taste it and see how it is.”

Under his gaze, Ryan closed his eyes and bit into the meat with a sense of impending doom.

The meat did not have a bitter taste, nor was there a tearing pain in his Mental Sea. Ryan slowly opened his eyes and curiously increased his chewing speed.

The meat was tender, and the seasonings did not overpower the original flavor; instead, they added a touch of freshness. It was so delicious he didn’t want to swallow!

How could it be this delicious?!

“Is it okay?” Felix looked at Ryan nervously and also popped a piece of meat into his mouth.

The saltiness was just right, the meat wasn’t burnt or undercooked, and his performance was stable. But why wasn’t Ryan showing any reaction?

Could it be that the taste of the food didn’t suit the Zerg Race?

“What’s wrong?” Felix’s smile gradually became strained. “Does it taste bad?”

“No!” Ryan’s eyes were bright, and he shook his head rapidly. “It’s delicious! Can I… can I have another piece?”

“Of course you can.” Felix breathed a sigh of relief and handed him the chopsticks. “Eat quickly, it’ll get cold if you wait.”

“Can I… can I also sit down to eat?” Ryan carefully took the chopsticks, his eyes darting uneasily between Felix and the dishes.

“This is your punishment,” Felix had already learned how to communicate with this poor bug who was deeply poisoned by traditionalist thoughts. “I’m punishing you to sit down and finish all the food.”

Ryan hesitated for two seconds, but in the end, he couldn’t resist the temptation of the delicious meal. He gripped the chopsticks and sat down to eat.

Felix looked at him and chuckled. “Your expression just now gave me a fright. I thought it tasted terrible.”

“Of course not,” Ryan said, his mouth stuffed full, his chopsticks moving incessantly between the plates, too busy to even speak. “The food Male Master made is really delicious!”
