Chapter Index

    Fighting and Brawling

Ten minutes into the first class, Adam was punished by Teacher Ali to mix mud because he had dashed out to eat before class and failed to return before the bell rang.

To prevent Males from neglecting their studies due to their status, ninety percent of the teachers at the Male Academy were Males themselves. Faced with their Male elders, these newly adult young Males had no say in the matter.

Fortunately, Adam was not a troublemaker. Knowing he was late, he obediently went to mix the mud.

Half an hour into the lesson, the troublemaker Anka Lucas arrived late. He kicked the door open and swaggered into the botanical garden, followed by four or five Females.

At that moment, Ali was discussing how to cultivate larger and sweeter strawberries with Felix. He was very displeased to be interrupted by Anka Lucas.

Ali straightened up and pointed a dry wooden stick at the door. “You, get out.”

Anka Lucas plopped down into a chair, crossed his legs, and began flirting with the Sub-female beside him with an evil smile. The Sub-female’s face flushed red as she put up a playful resistance; the two of them were actually acting like lovebirds as if no one else was there.

Ali was so angry his beard trembled. He raised his voice and roared, “Get out!”

The Sub-female shuddered in fear, but instead of backing away, she burrowed into Lucas’s arms. Anka Lucas burst into loud laughter.

Felix’s eyes twitched. He glanced at the silent Female behind Anka Lucas, guessing that he was the Female Monarch.

This Female Monarch not only failed to dissuade Anka Lucas but allowed him to run wild. Ali was fuming, and his own Female Monarch led him aside to soothe him with gentle words.

Not far away, Adam stopped mixing mud. Disgust appeared in his usually gentle eyes. “Anka Lucas, please follow the classroom rules.”

Anka Lucas turned his head back. The moment he saw Adam clearly, he curled his lip in dissatisfaction. “Oh, isn’t this Adam?”

He pushed the Sub-female out of his arms, clearly wary of Adam’s status. “Why are you so angry?”

He stood up, leaning lazily against the Sub-female as if he had no bones. “Fine, since Young Master Adam follows the rules so well, how would I dare to be disobedient?”

His sarcastic tone made those listening instinctively clench their fists.

Ryan took Felix’s hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. “Hero, don’t be angry.”

His voice was very quiet, but Anka Lucas still heard him. Anka Lucas didn’t dare provoke Adam because the Trent family behind him was very close to the Imperial family.

The Emperor and the head of the Trent family were like brothers. Although the Trent family had fallen silent after the prince went missing—and there were even rumors that they had fallen out of favor or held a grudge against the Imperial family—no one dared to bet on whether those rumors were true.

Anka Lucas had chosen this course instead of enjoying himself like other Males because his family had pressured him to get close to Adam.

He naturally couldn’t touch Adam, but could he not handle a lowly commoner B-rank Male?

“Hero,” Anka Lucas’s Female pulled at him at the right moment, “Lord Felix is also an A-rank Male.”

At first glance, there seemed to be nothing wrong with those words, but given Anka Lucas’s personality, how could he tolerate someone calling him weak?

Hearing that Felix was also an A-rank Male, he almost crushed his teeth in rage and snorted coldly. “He just climbed up using underhanded methods.”

If Ryan weren’t an S-rank Female, how could a lowly B-rank Male like Felix have climbed to A-rank?!

He completely forgot the miserable state he was in when Felix had pinned him down at the Male Protection Association earlier; now, his mind was set on revenge.

Felix used to be his lackey, clinging to his legs and flattering him incessantly, yet now he dared to give him the cold shoulder.

All the frustrations from the morning transformed into a surge of hostility, constantly battering Anka Lucas’s reason.

The two Males were at each other’s throats. Ali closed his eyes in anger, turning his back to the scene to avoid the headache. Adam worried that Felix would get hurt and tried to pull him away, but Landon held him back.

“Landon?” Adam’s eyes widened. “What are you doing?”

“Hero,” Landon blocked Adam behind him and looked at him seriously, “Alec has already received the news. We cannot interfere, do you understand?”

Adam didn’t understand, but he could vaguely sense something. Hearing that Alec would come to intervene, he remained anxious but didn’t rush forward to separate the two.

Ryan gripped Felix’s arm with one hand and his wrist with the other, his deep blue eyes misting over with worry. “Hero, please do not fight with him.”

This was the Male Academy. Causing trouble in class would lead to much harsher punishment than doing so outside.

“It’s fine,” Felix patted the back of Ryan’s hand reassuringly. Estimating the time, he waited until the person watching from the shadows was about to appear before he brushed Ryan off and strode toward Anka Lucas.

Before Ryan could react, he saw the Male who had been right beside him instantly move in front of Anka Lucas. Anka Lucas looked terrified but made no move to dodge; he had clearly been pinned down by Felix’s Mental Power.

No one present except Ryan and Anka Lucas noticed this.

The process was very short, taking less than a second. Felix clearly had no intention of revealing that his Mental Power had recovered to 3S level.

The Mental Power was only used to prevent Lucas from escaping. Once he reached Lucas, Lucas felt his body suddenly lighten as the feeling of being imprisoned vanished.

Surprised and delighted, he immediately tried to mobilize his Mental Power to attack Felix. But before the power could take shape, Felix’s fist slammed into his face.

It was a completely overwhelming style of fighting—violent and bloody. Every punch hit home, and the faint sound of bones cracking could even be heard.

Anka Lucas was like a tattered ragdoll. Felix lifted him with one hand, drove a knee into his crotch, and then grabbed his head to slam it violently against a flower bed.

Cracks appeared in the stone-built flower bed, and Anka Lucas fell unconscious.

In a confrontation between Males, Females could not interfere at all. Anka Lucas’s Female Monarch clearly hadn’t expected Felix to strike so ruthlessly. His expression shifted slightly, and he signaled the Females beside him to hurry and save him.

The Military Females following him hesitated, turning their gaze toward the most favored Sub-female.

The Sub-female’s face was pale and his whole body was trembling. Seeing this, he broke down and cursed loudly, “What are you all standing there for?! Can’t you see the Hero is about to be beaten to death?!”

Lucas’s Female Monarch remained silent for a moment, looking as dull as a block of wood. “Females are not allowed to interfere in fights between Males.”

This law was originally intended to protect Males, preventing the physical gap between genders from leading to a Female accidentally killing one of the few Males.

However, Felix’s physical prowess was not inferior to a Female’s. Lucas’s Female Monarch calmly judged that he probably wouldn’t gain any advantage against this Lord Male himself.

After considering everything, he chose to play deaf and dumb.

The Sub-female had never seen such a bloody scene, and the Military Females were just standing there like statues. He screamed and rushed forward in a panic, only to be grabbed by the collar and pulled away by Ryan.

Ryan easily pinched the Sub-female’s collar with two fingers and hung him on a nearby rack, staring at him coldly. “Females are not allowed to interfere in fights between Males.”

The Sub-female shuddered, trying to touch the ground with his toes while his body swung in mid-air. He finally couldn’t take it anymore, covered his face, and began to cry.

Adam hid behind Landon. Every time Felix landed a punch on Anka Lucas, his whole body would tremble, and certain memories deliberately hidden deep in his mind slowly resurfaced.

“Hero?” Landon opened his arms and pulled his timid Hero into his embrace. “Don’t be afraid. Lord Felix won’t lay a hand on you.”

Hearing this, Adam trembled even more.

“I knew it,” he said, covering his face and trying hard not to let tears flow. “Nothing good ever comes from getting involved with Alec!”

Fortunately, he was gentle, generous, and never arrogant. Otherwise, if he accidentally provoked Felix, he wouldn’t even know how he died.

The mutual fight between the two Males continued until Alec arrived in a hurry. His chest was heaving, making it look as though he had just run from a great distance.

“Felix!” Alec grabbed Felix with one hand and pulled up the unconscious Lucas with the other, his expression genuinely changing. “What have you done?!”

His eyes widened as he pushed Felix aside and reached out to check Lucas’s breathing. He felt a breath and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Felix pulled a silk handkerchief from his pocket and unhurriedly wiped the blood from his hands, his face full of mockery. “Lord Alec has quite the acting skills. Have you seen enough of the show from outside the door?”

Alec looked up sharply, his smile not reaching his eyes. “Lord Felix must be joking. If I were outside, how could I have allowed such a thing to happen?”

Felix shrugged, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

Teacher Ali walked over unhurriedly, glanced at Felix, and snorted. “You brat, I thought you were an obedient one.”

Felix bowed slightly, appearing both respectful and reckless. “I’ve caused trouble for the teacher.”

Ali waved his hand, a few sounds escaping his throat—it was hard to tell if it was a cold snort or a chuckle. “This class is about over anyway.” He walked toward Adam. “How is your mud mixing going?”

Adam followed Ali away, looking back at Felix with worry at every step, reluctant to leave.

Alec noticed his gaze and tilted his head to glare at him. Adam shrunk his neck and ran off after Ali with small, quick steps.

Anka Lucas’s Females stood silently in a row. Ryan stayed close to Felix, turning his body to block Alec’s gaze.

Alec ordered Anka Lucas’s Female Monarch to carry the unconscious Anka Lucas, then glanced sideways at Felix. “Follow me!”

Felix patted Ryan’s lower back reassuringly, leaned down to his ear, and whispered, “Go tell Teacher Ali that I want to buy a batch of cheap, unprocessed fresh fruits and vegetables.”

Ryan’s eyes widened, and he quickly grabbed Felix’s wrist. “Hero, I’m not leaving! I want to go with you!”

The Male was bound to be punished. If he wasn’t by his Hero’s side, what if the Hero was bullied? What if the Hero got hurt? What if the Hero… became a bad Hero again?!

“Ryan,” Felix pinched his fingertips and said in a low, aggrieved voice, “You don’t trust me?”

“Of course I do,” Ryan answered decisively, but then hesitated. “You will be punished.”

“Don’t worry. You’ll see me when you return to the dormitory tonight.” Felix’s gaze fell gently upon the deep blue ocean of his eyes. “I promise, okay?”

Ryan was still hesitating when a person suddenly appeared behind him. Ryan turned around abruptly to see Teacher Ali’s Female Monarch pressing a hand on his shoulder, smiling gently. “Little Female, come with me.”

Teacher Ali’s Female Monarch was named Cahill. He was the former commander of the First Legion from two terms ago, making him a senior predecessor to Ryan.

Ryan didn’t dare refuse him. He could only look at Felix, trying to stay, but he only received a comforting look from his Hero.

Left with no choice, Ryan followed Cahill away.

    Banxia Novel, lots of happiness.
