MFIMM Chapter 36
by VolareIsolation
Lin Xi felt this person was a bit inexplicable, so he didn’t reply. He replied to his family and friends first. He didn’t even group this post on his moments; he just let it be seen by everyone.
After replying to these messages, he threw his phone onto the sofa, feeling exhausted, and had long forgotten what had just happened.
Sensing Pei Jiashu’s gaze, Lin Xi obediently stood in front of Pei Jiashu, “What can I do to make you not angry? Don’t look at me like that; I’m scared.”
Pei Jiashu covered his neck, staring straight at Lin Xi, not knowing what he was plotting.
He was probably the first alpha to be bitten by an omega.
“Can’t think of anything for now. You owe me for now.”
Pei Jiashu finally stopped staring at Lin Xi, leaned back on the sofa, and closed his eyes to rest. There was still a lingering pain on his glands. The sensation traveled through the teeth marks again and again, and his senses were amplified infinitely. The feeling of Lin Xi biting him seemed to remain.
He licked his canine tooth, really wanting Lin Xi to experience this feeling too.
But he quickly dismissed this thought.
Their relationship was already very unclear. If there were a temporary mark again, he was afraid that he wouldn’t even be able to distinguish between a fake and a real relationship.
Unbeknownst to the two of them, rumors were spreading like wildfire in the company.
When Lin Xi returned to the company after his day off, he found that the attitudes of many people who used to be “friendly” with him had changed. The most obvious was that theanchor who originally wanted him to do their makeup all made excuses not to come.
Even the photographers he used to shamelessly follow to learn from were avoiding him as if he were a flood.
Lin Xi’s makeup appointments were usually fully booked. Suddenly being free, he felt at a loss. He wanted to edit videos, but found that even the editors in the company were avoiding him.
What had he done wrong?
Lin Xi couldn’t figure it out. He had only taken a weekend off. Why had everyone’s attitude changed?
Fortunately, there was still ananchor who came to him for makeup. Lin Xi didn’t think about those things and focused on his work.
ThisAnchor’s number of followers was about the same as his. He had some emotions on his face that Lin Xi couldn’t understand.
Lin Xi focused on doing his makeup, but every time Lin Xi finished a stroke, he would look in the mirror.
“You don’t need to keep looking. Leave it to me; I guarantee you’ll be satisfied,” Lin Xi joked with theanchor.
But perhaps theanchor was too cautious and didn’t trust Lin Xi’s skills. The frequency with which he looked in the mirror decreased, but he kept looking at Lin Xi.
“The camera is recording here. I’m just afraid that if the makeup isn’t good, it will all be recorded. Then I’d be at a loss.”
Lin Xi said good-temperedly, “It’s okay. If you’re not satisfied in the end, this video won’t be released.”
“So you don’t release the ones that are a flop? No wonder I’ve never seen any bad makeup on the platform.”
Lin Xi choked. “Well, there really haven’t been any flops. After all, the otheranchor are very cooperative.”
“What do you mean by that?”
Lin Xi: “Whatever you mean is what I mean.”
He was diligently doing makeup for people here, but he was still being sarcastic. Who could stand it? Anyway, Lin Xi couldn’t. If he gave Lin Xi a bad attitude, Lin Xi wouldn’t give him a good attitude either.
“Hmph, I can’t afford to offend you,” thatanchor said, not even caring about the unfinished makeup. He grabbed his bag and left.
Leaving Lin Xi alone sitting on the stool, listening to the sound of the door slamming shut, he felt powerless, like a punch hitting cotton.
Everyone was talking to him in riddles, and he was the only one kept in the dark.
Lin Xi: Pei Jiashu, I’m going to the cafeteria for lunch.
Pei: So suddenly?
Lin Xi: Never mind.
Lin Xi wanted to test if he was really being isolated by the company. After all, he used to have pretty good relationships in the company.
Sure enough, as soon as he entered the cafeteria, everyone avoided him as if they had seen a fly.
Lin Xi took a few bites, and it tasted like chewing wax. He should have just gone upstairs to find Pei Jiashu to eat. Why was he making himself suffer?
Zeng Zhiyang: Lin Xi, are you free this afternoon? Do my makeup for me.
Lin Xi was annoyed when he saw Zeng Zhiyang’s message. There was still a message from the day before yesterday that he hadn’t replied to. It would be obvious if he didn’t reply, so he agreed to Zeng Zhiyang.
He also didn’t have an appetite, so he threw away all the food and returned to the lounge.
He had already told Pei Jiashu that he wasn’t going to eat. He didn’t want to bother Pei Jiashu upstairs, so he would just make do with a nap here at noon.
Lying on the narrow bed, he couldn’t even stretch out his body.
He used to complain that the bed in Pei Jiashu’s lounge was too small, but without comparison, there was no harm. The bed in this lounge was not even as good as a chair.
He couldn’t sleep on the bed. He finally fell asleep, but after a while, he heard a knock on the door.
Zeng Zhiyang pushed the door open and saw Lin Xi curled up in a ball on the bed.
“Why didn’t you knock?” Lin Xi didn’t expect him to come in like that. He quickly got up from the bed and tidied himself up.
He let him sit on the stool. Lin Xi cleaned up the desk and turned on the camera.
Although he didn’t like this person, Lin Xi’s movements were still meticulous. Zeng Zhiyang’s eyes seemed to be glued to him. Although Lin Xi deliberately maintained a physical distance, some contact was inevitable when doing delicate work like drawing eyeliner.
Zeng Zhiyang’s hand inadvertently placed on Lin Xi’s leg. Lin Xi suddenly jumped up, “What are you doing?”
“You’re too close to me. I was just being careless. Don’t be so nervous,” Zeng Zhiyang said with a smile. Lin Xi could only take a deep breath and continue to finish the remaining makeup.
But Zeng Zhiyang’s hand movements became more and more frequent until Lin Xi couldn’t bear it anymore and slapped his hand away.
“Lin Xi, which hot spring hotel did you go to on the weekend? It looks pretty good. I want to go and see it too.”
“It’s done. I’m going to live stream. Go film first,” Lin Xi didn’t want to answer Zeng Zhiyang’s question and started chasing him away, but Zeng Zhiyang acted as if he didn’t understand his hint.
“I can live stream anytime. You can even let me connect to your live stream,” Zeng Zhiyang said with a smile. “But I’m very curious. Was that hotel having a ribbon-cutting ceremony that day? Were you invited to go?”
“What ribbon-cutting ceremony? I just randomly found a hotel to soak in the hot springs,” Lin Xi said with a laugh.
“Really?” Zeng Zhiyang obviously didn’t believe it.
But Lin Xi was already impatient and directly started chasing people away, pushing him out the door. “Goodbye. I really have to live stream. My fans will be waiting impatiently.”
Zeng Zhiyang was locked out of the room. He looked at his phone, which contained the information he had investigated.
Lin Xi’s personal resume was all here. He was only from an ordinary family, but he lived in one of the most expensive buildings five kilometers from the company. The security inside was too strong, and nothing could be found out.
And that hotel didn’t open that day. Except for those who were invited, it didn’t receive individual guests at all.
He had gone through countless connections to try to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony at this hotel, but his company was too small, and those people looked down on him. His identity as an influencer was even despised by these people.
But why could Lin Xi go in?
He looked at the closed door. If his phone was any more fragile, it would have been crushed directly by him.
Inside the room, Lin Xi turned on the live streaming equipment. In the beginning, before he signed the contract, he liked live streaming and chatting with everyone. Later, when it became work and there was pressure for traffic, he didn’t like it anymore.
But every time he was unhappy, he would be revived when fans chatted with him.
Especially when there were all kinds of whales rewarding him, he felt sorry for all that money.
When he returned home, Lin Xi had already adjusted himself. He ate and drank as usual, and even joked with Pei Jiashu.
Pei Jiashu’s back of the neck still had a bandage on it, which looked particularly obvious.
When he was cooking, Lin Xi went up and poked his bandage. “You put such an obvious bandage on. Didn’t anyone ask you anything?”
“They asked. I said it was bitten by the little cat in my house,” Pei Jiashu said through gritted teeth. Lin Xi trembled. “You said you wouldn’t be angry anymore, and I’m not a little cat either.”
Pei Jiashu chuckled as if he had heard a joke, and then asked Lin Xi, “Then what do you want me to say? Say that my wife marked me?”
“What… wife? What… mark?” This time it was Lin Xi’s voice that trembled. He quickly disappeared from the kitchen and said to Pei Jiashu, “Yes, that’s right. It was your cat that bit you.”
Pei Jiashu shook his head and smiled helplessly, pressing his hand on the bandage on his neck.
But the only one who asked him was Assistant Song. What a waste of him using such an obvious bandage.
—
Lin Xi initially thought that being isolated by the entire company wasn’t a big deal. After all, he was originally ananchor who was detached from the company, forced to work by Pei Jiashu.
But this isolation made it difficult for him to breathe in the company, especially since he didn’t know why these people were isolating him.
Lin Xi was bored and fiddling with his phone in the company, not even shamelessly following the photographers to steal learning anymore.
Suddenly, his door was pushed open again. Lin Xi almost thought it was some perverted alpha again.
But he didn’t expect it to be Jiang Yuan.
“You’re really carefree. If I hadn’t come to the company today, I wouldn’t have known what happened,” Jiang Yuan said to Lin Xi as soon as he saw him.
But compared to the sarcasm of otheranchor, Jiang Yuan still seemed much more pleasing to the eye.
He was like a child who had been bullied and found his parent, standing up from the chair and hugging Jiang Yuan. “I don’t even know what happened.”
“Idiot, have you really been kept?” Jiang Yuan asked directly.
Lin Xi shook his head blankly.
Jiang Yuan snorted. “Yeah, if you were kept, would you still be a small blogger with less than 100,000 followers? Then your sugar daddy is too lousy. You might as well come to me.”
“Can I really come to you?” Lin Xi looked at Jiang Yuan with starry eyes.
Jiang Yuan pushed him away and handed his phone to Lin Xi, which was a chat log from a group chat, full of rumors about Lin Xi.
Not only were there secretly taken videos of Lin Xi getting out of Pei Jiashu’s car, but there were also photos Lin Xi posted on his moments that day.
The words below were getting more and more excessive.
Jiang Yuan took the phone back. “Okay, don’t look at these anymore. Since this person was able to intercept photos from your moments, they should be your friend. Exclude them yourself first.”
Lin Xi’s nose twitched. “Thank you, Jiang Yuan. If you hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known I was being framed.”
