MRFD Chapter 53
by Volare“It’s a complimentary ticket from the fan club,” he answered honestly.
Mo Yufei stopped what he was doing upon hearing this, tilted his head, and asked, “Did he tell you not to tell me?”
“Who?” Rong Yi asked.
“The person who gave you the ticket,” Mo Yufei said.
“It really is a complimentary ticket from the fan club…” Rong Yi tried to explain, “It was sent with the merchandise.”
Mo Yufei lowered his head and chuckled, then stood up and said, “Wait for me, I’m going to wash my face.”
As he spoke, he walked into the adjacent washroom.
Still standing there in a daze, Rong Yi belatedly realized that something seemed a little off.
Even if they were both complimentary tickets from the fan club, the difference shouldn’t be so vast just because of a slight difference in location. One was on the edge of the venue, and the other was in the VIP area. He even got to enter early with that ticket.
But he really did find the ticket inside the package of merchandise, didn’t he?
Could someone else have put it there? After those merchandise items were opened, only one person besides him had touched them.
Rong Yi’s heart suddenly skipped a beat.
Just then, Mo Yufei walked out of the washroom. His bangs were still clipped up on top of his head with a hairpin, his face was still wet, and his eyes were narrowed into slits. Rong Yi watched as he walked straight to the vanity mirror and pulled a few tissues from the table to wipe his face.
“Um…” Rong Yi looked at him and mustered his courage to ask, “So, that ticket was actually…”
Mo Yufei closed his eyes, frowned, and tried to brush away the bits of tissue clinging to his face with his hand. “Chen Ke Yao gave it to you?”
The way he casually spoke this name sent a shock through Rong Yi, rendering him speechless.
“What’s wrong?” Mo Yufei opened his eyes and continued with a smile, “Why are you so nervous? Am I that scary?”
“I…”
“You’re making me nervous too,” Mo Yufei said, but still seemed perfectly natural. “Are you hungry?”
“Huh?”
Mo Yufei very deftly changed into a very low-key and simple jacket, then walked up to him and smiled. “Let me treat you to a meal, shall we go?”
Actually, it was almost past mealtime, and the reminder did make him feel a little empty in his stomach.
Rong Yi followed Mo Yufei all the way to the back door, then saw the familiar indifferent sister again. Mo Yufei told him the route, told him to leave in ten minutes to meet him at a corner nearby, then put on his hat and sunglasses and ran out with the indifferent sister.
Being a celebrity really wasn’t easy. Rong Yi calculated the time, walked to the agreed-upon corner, and waited for a while before a car slowly stopped in front of him. But when he got in the car, he only saw the driver and the indifferent sister.
Rong Yi sat on the back seat of the car with great trepidation, wondering if he should ask, but before he could open his mouth, the indifferent sister in the passenger seat suddenly turned around to look at him.
“Please give me your phone,” she said.
Rong Yi didn’t understand why, but he was a little intimidated by her gaze, so he subconsciously did as she asked.
The indifferent sister took the phone and very deftly pressed the power button to force it to shut down, then put it into her bag.
“What are you doing?” Rong Yi was shocked.
He thought she was going to borrow it, but this felt more like a head teacher confiscating a student’s prohibited personal items.
“I’ll return it to you,” the indifferent sister said calmly. “Don’t mention today’s events to anyone in the future, understand?”
Rong Yi blinked twice, his mind full of confusion, but he nodded anyway.
The traffic was a bit heavy, and they were stopped on the road without moving. Without a phone to pass the time, and the two people in the car were very silent, Rong Yi inevitably felt bored.
Helpless, he could only turn his head to look out the window and enjoy the scenery.
But in reality, all he could see was traffic. The worst part was that their side of the road was completely blocked, while the other side was very smooth, making people even more anxious.
The air in the car was a little stuffy, he opened the window and watched the cars speeding by on the other side, then suddenly “huh”-ed softly.
Then, he quickly turned his head, even wanting to stick his body out the window.
When the taxi that had just passed them brushed past, the light in the car suddenly turned on. The person in the back seat that Rong Yi glimpsed, looked very familiar.
By the time Rong Yi really stuck his head out, the taxi only had a blurry shadow left in the dim night, and the situation in the car was even more difficult to see clearly.
“Close the window,” the indifferent sister suddenly said. “Don’t let anyone see you.”
It was like a secret operation.
Rong Yi was dissatisfied, but he honestly did as she said.
He leaned back on the sofa, sighed. He must have seen wrong, it was probably because he missed him too much, so everyone looked like the person he was thinking about.
The person he mistook for a moment ago should be thousands of miles away, in their shared home. He might have just finished his take out and was sitting in front of the computer watching a movie.
There was no reason for Chen Ke Yao to come over suddenly. What’s more, it was the peak tourist season in C City, and it was very difficult to buy a plane ticket without booking in advance.
It was all his fault for missing him too much, so everyone looked like him.
The car was stuck on a short, straight road for more than half an hour, and finally arrived at its destination after turning a corner.
The restaurant looked particularly high-end, and seemed to be members-only. The indifferent sister exchanged a few words with the waiter and then left very simply, leaving Rong Yi, who was still thinking about his phone, secretly tangled.
But since he had come, he honestly followed the waiter and was led all the way to a private room.
When he opened the door, Mo Yufei was sitting inside in a bored manner, propping his chin up and spacing out. As soon as he saw Rong Yi, he immediately stood up, looking very happy.
“You’re here,” he said with a smile, very naturally taking Rong Yi’s coat and hanging it on a rack to the side. “Was the road you took especially blocked? I was so hungry waiting that I ordered a few dishes at random first. See if there’s anything else you want to eat.”
Rong Yi was in a state of high tension: “I, anything is fine!”
“Then I won’t stand on ceremony with you,” Mo Yufei pulled out a chair for him. “Sit down.”
Rong Yi carefully sat down, his back pressed against the chair, his hands placed on his thighs in a very upright manner.
Mo Yufei laughed when he saw this.
“Forget it, forget it, I won’t tell you to relax, the more I say it, the more nervous you get,” he shook his head helplessly. “Let’s talk about something else instead.”
But when Rong Yi thought of the so-called “something else,” he immediately became even more nervous.
He had thought on the way here that since that ticket was really stuffed in by Chen Ke Yao, it must have been obtained from Mo Yufei. So the reason why Mo Yufei chose that seat number today was actually because the person he wanted to invite wasn’t him, but Chen Ke Yao.
Now that he had specifically asked him out for dinner, it was probably still for the same reason.
Damn, he had become a love rival with his idol, what should he do? This was a Hongmen Banquet!
“Does he say bad things about me all day long, that’s why you’re so scared?” Mo Yufei said, “Don’t listen to his nonsense, my greatest advantage is that I’m easy-going and easy to get along with.”
Rong Yi hesitated and shook his head. “He didn’t say anything bad about you.”
Although his negative emotions were strong, and his words weren’t very nice either. But Chen Ke Yao didn’t even admit to knowing him, so naturally there wouldn’t be any detailed descriptions.
Mo Yufei lowered his gaze upon hearing this, hesitated for a few seconds, and then looked at Rong Yi again: “What’s your relationship?”
He asked very directly, which instantly made Rong Yi a little at a loss.
“I…” he hesitated for a while, “I rent his house, he’s my landlord.”
In fact, they had also briefly been together, and he was still secretly in love with him. But if he had to describe it, that was the only superficial relationship between them.
“That’s it?” Mo Yufei asked.
Rong Yi nodded.
Then, he suddenly felt a little regretful. Since it was a meeting between love rivals, should he have put on a show to intimidate the other party?
“Impossible,” Mo Yufei said, “You look like the type he would like.”
“…” He never expected that the boast he was too embarrassed to make himself would be said by the other party.
Just as Rong Yi was in a state of panic, someone gently knocked on the door of the private room. The food was served.
Mo Yufei really didn’t have any airs, and immediately picked up his chopsticks as soon as the waiter left.
“I’m starving,” he said as he picked up food, “I won’t stand on ceremony with you, hurry up and eat more.”
Rong Yi looked at him happily eating and felt a little out of character.
How magical, he was eating with his male god. His male god’s personality was really good, just like the rumors, without any pretense, extremely easy-going. Moreover, he was still just as good-looking without makeup, very refreshing, his skin was still perfect, and he looked especially cute with his mouth full of food.
It should have been such a happy moment, but Rong Yi only felt flustered.
“Please, don’t look at me, eat,” Mo Yufei looked a little pained. “I really get a little nervous when you stare at me like that.”
“S-sorry.” Rong Yi quickly lowered his head, picked up his chopsticks, and stuffed some things into his mouth at random.
Mo Yufei looked at him and chuckled softly again.
“You rent Chen Ke Yao’s house, do you live together as roommates?” he asked.
Rong Yi hesitated and bit his chopsticks, honestly nodding.
“Then you must not be simply landlord and tenant,” Mo Yufei said.
Rong Yi’s face turned red: “We…”
“Slept together?”
Rong Yi instantly choked, then coughed uncontrollably.
Mo Yufei quickly poured him a glass of water: “Is he still not good at it?”
Rong Yi drank the water and finally caught his breath: “What are you talking about?”
“Isn’t he always like that,” Mo Yufei said, “He likes Alphas, but he can’t stand the smell of Alpha Pheromones. If he hasn’t made a move on you yet, it must be for this reason. I don’t believe he wouldn’t have any thoughts looking at you every day.”
Rong Yi then realized that there was a huge misunderstanding: “…We really don’t have anything, I’m an Omega, he knows.”
“Eh?” Mo Yufei was stunned, then looked him up and down, his gaze very playful. “…Then has he thrown up on you?”
Rong Yi suddenly felt a little uncomfortable.
He didn’t hate Mo Yufei, but he didn’t like the feeling that Mo Yufei was particularly familiar with Chen Ke Yao in his words. It made him seem like a complete outsider.
“Did I guess right?” Mo Yufei said, then put down his chopsticks and looked at Rong Yi with his chin in his hand. “He must be thinking every day when he looks at you, this person is so cute.”
Rong Yi’s face instantly burned up.
“How is that possible, the word cute and I…”
“Go together so well,” Mo Yufei said, reaching out with his other hand across the table and raising Rong Yi’s chin. “Makes people like you just by looking at you.”
The author has something to say:
Mo Yufei: I hold many positions and have worked hard even if I haven’t made any contributions.
Chen Ke Yao: You’ve worked your ass off! Can you stop working!
