He revealed a lean but well-defined upper body, silver-blue long hair, and an exceptionally handsome face. Then, with a leap like a fish, he jumped into the sea.
“Hey, someone fell into the sea!” Nearby, some people noticed the commotion. They didn’t see Su Su’s actions clearly, only catching sight of the splash as he hit the water, and they began to shout loudly.
But as more people gathered around the tail of the boat, they suddenly saw a silver fish tail flash across the surface of the water, followed by the beautiful figure with silver-blue hair appearing on the water’s surface.
“Ah, a merman! He’s so gorgeous!”
“Wait, doesn’t he look a bit familiar?”
Su Su mischievously winked at the surrounding crowd, then suddenly flicked his tail hard, leaping up. Before anyone could react, he grabbed Qi Hanyi and pulled him into the water.
“Hey… Admiral Qi! I remember, that just now, it seems to be Su Su, right?”
“It really is those two! Did they come here for vacation?”
“Wow! We got to see Admiral Qi and Su Su! We should have asked for a photo just now.”
“Like you’d dare! Admiral Qi only dotes on Su Su. Did you see the way he looked at the others just now? It was terrifying!”
“I’ve got to save my ticket. Even if I didn’t meet a merman, seeing the two of them in person is worth it.”
The boat was filled with a lively atmosphere, while beneath the surface of the sea, Su Su was pulling Qi Hanyi deeper underwater.
In the silent deep sea, it was as if the water was dragging Qi Hanyi towards some memory.
Qi Hanyi thought he would feel uncomfortable, would feel fear, but he didn’t. His gaze followed that silver-blue figure as it continued to dive deeper, and he felt an inexplicable sense of peace. He looked up, and instead of the pitch-black night sky above, he saw the deep blue sea, the magnificent sunset cascading through the waves, illuminating everything in brilliant and dreamy colors, shining all the way to the seafloor, where white, soft sand lay below. Occasionally, schools of fish darted in and out of the coral, swirling and swimming into the distance.
The silver figure brought Qi Hanyi’s attention back as he saw Su Su circling around him, moving as if dancing, his long hair flowing behind him and his fish tail swaying, while his upper body retained a human form. His pose was breathtaking, gradually covering up Qi Hanyi’s nightmare of the deep sea.
As the dance ended, the fish tail pressed against Qi Hanyi’s waist, and Su Su gently pressed his soft lips against his, passing a breath over.
The two did not return to the cruise ship; instead, Su Su led Qi Hanyi to a beach near Yongle Island.
By this time, night had fallen, and the summer heat was dispersed by the cool evening breeze, with tourists strolling along the beach in small groups. The dim light made everything in the distance appear hazy, enhancing the dreamy atmosphere.
“You sit here, and I’ll perform a magic trick for you,” Su Su said, pointing to the rocks on the beach.
Qi Hanyi couldn’t quite grasp Su Su’s intentions but cooperatively climbed onto the rocks. His neatly pressed shirt was drenched, and his hair was dripping water, but he didn’t pay attention to any of that. Instead, he watched Su Su swimming away, curious about what he was going to do.
As he watched, Qi Hanyi gradually felt that this place seemed somewhat familiar, as if he had been here a long time ago, the same rocks, the silvery moonlight, and— the silver shark.
Qi Hanyi thought he must be hallucinating; otherwise, why did everything start to overlap with his dreams? Just when he realized that this wasn’t the A Yin from his dreams but Su Su’s shark form that he had seen before. Su Su was an adult shark, while the one he remembered was juvenile, much smaller than the current Su Su.
But as Su Su approached, he couldn’t decide anymore, because the scene was too similar to his memories, except that the shark was drifting away then, while now, Su Su was swimming toward him.
“You…” As Su Su stopped in front of him, Qi Hanyi cautiously reached out his hand, lightly, as if afraid of popping a dream bubble. The sensation of cold scales transmitting from his palm to his brain made him exhale deeply.
Su Su opened his mouth and dropped a chip onto the rock beside Qi Hanyi. The lion emblem on it burned into Qi Hanyi’s eyes.
This is…
Qi Hanyi looked at Su Su in surprise. Even though he had already guessed, he felt a bit incredulous about this coincidence. So, his little shark had been protecting him since so long ago. It turned out that he had already owed Su Su an unpayable debt.
Su Su returned to his human form, extending his hand towards Qi Hanyi, his smile as bright as moonlight: “Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Su Su.”
