    Chapter Three – Celebrity Gathering

A few days later, Baron de Silva’s fashion party was held as scheduled.

Although these gatherings are said to be casually held at the Baron’s home, taking it lightly would be a big mistake. After all, many celebrities from the fashion and entertainment circles would be visiting, and big names from the political and business world would also appear from time to time. Therefore, any young person who wanted to stand out would dress themselves up carefully before coming. If that was the case for those involved in politics and business, let alone those in the fashion and entertainment circles, naturally everyone had to be glamorous before daring to step into the Baron’s villa.

And a standard supermodel like Su Cenxi naturally had to go through a professional makeover before appearing.

So, before this evening party, Su Cenxi was pinned down in the studio for a whole afternoon – Ning Fei was wary of Gu Hechen suddenly acting up and changing his mind, which is why he didn’t allow the makeup to be done at home.

Romantic love songs from over twenty years ago echoed in the studio, two large rows of clothing racks were hung with alternative outfits, and the long makeup table was filled with various makeup and styling products. Behind Su Cenxi, the makeup artist, stylist, and Ning Fei were… “fully expressing” their opinions.

“Still rosy? Ning Fei, I beg you to take a good look, okay?” The makeup artist pointed at Su Cenxi in the mirror, almost bursting out with his dialect, “It’s almost all white, where’s even a hint of red?”

“The lighting in this mirror makes people look three times better, but it also washes out the makeup. Although the Baron’s house isn’t exactly a red carpet, it’s similar, but his house doesn’t have these spotlights.” Ning Fei directly turned off the lights on the mirror and turned to face Su Cenxi directly. “The makeup on his face is still too heavy, redo it. Redo it until you can’t tell he’s wearing makeup, and it needs to be pale, fragile, and transparent, understand?”

“Is that the ‘sickly’ look that’s popular internationally these days?” The stylist said from the side, “I really don’t know what’s so good about being popular, is it really good-looking?”

“We can’t control whether it looks good or not, but this is the current trend. Several of the Baron’s main models for the Y brand have recently started leaning towards this style as well. Who would do that if the Baron didn’t like it?” Ning Fei replied, “It just so happens that Su Cenxi is recovering from a serious illness, this listless look is perfect, don’t waste it.”

The makeup artist raised an eyebrow slightly: “Are you sure? He usually goes for a lively and bright style, this would be very different, you know?”

“Sure.” Ning Fei leaned against the edge of the table, crossed his arms, and scoffed, “Models should be versatile. He’s always been one style because CEO Gu likes that style.”

No one dared to refute this troublemaker’s words, even though they were the makeup team Gu Hechen had hired with a lot of money.

After all, everyone in the studio knew that Su Cenxi had resisted Ning Fei’s arranged work because of CEO Gu last time, but didn’t he still come back in the end with his tail between his legs? Gu Hechen not only looked for Ning Fei immediately, but also gave him work, introduced him to contacts. Even when Ning Fei asked Su Cenxi to control his weight even when he was sick, Gu Hechen didn’t openly object anymore.

Didn’t you see that Su Cenxi didn’t dare to mention a single idea this time?

“…Then if we want a ‘sickly’ look this time, we might as well just even out the skin tone. And the lips shouldn’t be so bright, better to make them lighter.” The makeup artist thought to himself that since he wasn’t responsible, he might as well follow the idea, “But the hairstyle still needs to be done, right?”

“Do it, but don’t make it too fixed, no iron bangs.” Ning Fei ran his fingers through Su Cenxi’s hair, “And all these eyeliners, eyeshadows, and eyelashes, get rid of them all, don’t wear colored contact lenses either. Don’t make any of the scents too strong, vintage, broken, alienated, remember?”

“Okay.” The makeup artist also leaned in to look at Su Cenxi’s face, “If you don’t want any eye makeup, how about a mole at the corner of his eye?”

Ning Fei pointed to the lower left of Su Cenxi’s left eye: “A mole at the corner of the eye is too seductive, put it on the lower left.”

“OK, OK, then I’ll still put on a tiny bit of red eye makeup.” The makeup artist had an inspiration, “Guaranteed to be broken, very nice!”

The makeup artist gestured “OK,” and Ning Fei went to discuss with the stylist. In the end, they settled on a Y brand vintage black suit, with very few patterns, but the cut of the collar and cuffs was very special, it was a classic style from that year. The main reason for choosing this suit was that its shoulder width perfectly matched Su Cenxi, but the waist was a bit wide, and it originally needed to be altered before it could be worn. But this time it happened to match Su Cenxi’s “frail” appearance, the slightly wide front of the jacket opened, and the loose silk shirt inside was tucked in at the waist, waist, hip line, long legs, all in one go.

In short, when this whole set was done, even Gu Hechen, who came to pick him up, was struck by his appearance.

But just as he reached out, Ning Fei stepped in – physically – standing between the two, blocking his hand: “CEO Gu, I suggest you don’t touch him, you don’t want his styling from sitting here all afternoon to be ruined, do you?”

Gu Hechen raised an eyebrow: “Can’t even touch him?”

“Hands are okay.” Ning Fei replied calmly, “Please keep other places for after tonight.”

After speaking, he made way for him, even waving his hand, indicating “please.”

Gu Hechen felt that Ning Fei’s words had a hidden meaning, and glanced at him unhappily, but quickly approached Su Cenxi again. Upon closer inspection, Gu Hechen couldn’t help frowning: “Why does he still look unwell after putting on makeup? Is he feeling uncomfortable again?”

“It’s intentional, anyway, he’s recovering from a serious illness, no need to force himself to be energetic.” Ning Fei was too lazy to explain the recent international trends to him, and replied simply and rudely, “In short, please just take him to see the Baron like this. I can’t keep following Su Cenxi at the Baron’s house, otherwise it would be too obvious, please don’t forget the purpose of tonight. Call me anytime if you need anything.”

As he said this, his final gaze fell on Su Cenxi. Su Cenxi frowned and replied: “I can only try my best…”

Ning Fei didn’t care about this “little resistance” of his, and even clapped his hands: “Hey, right, just frown like that, it looks great, ‘sickly beauty’.”

“Is de Silva going to give Cenxi an audition opportunity?” Gu Hechen couldn’t bear to see Su Cenxi in a difficult position. He took the other person’s hand and found it was warm, and felt slightly relieved, “Why bother so much, just try to get a runway show opportunity.”

“CEO Gu, your family is big and your business is big, but your influence in the fashion circle is indeed average.” Ning Fei scoffed, “Please don’t use extra effort, otherwise ‘doing a good deed and messing it up’ would be ugly.”

This bout of sarcasm of his didn’t even get Gu Hechen to have someone “take him out to ‘calm down’,” which left the studio members present dumbfounded.

In fact, Gu Hechen was indeed angry, but he didn’t immediately explode on the surface, but immediately took Su Cenxi and walked out. As he passed by Ning Fei, Gu Hechen lowered his voice and said close to him: “I don’t know what evil ways you used, but I will always find a way to let him break free from your control.”

Ning Fei pretended not to understand, and smiled with his eyes lowered: “As long as he becomes a supermodel TOP 10.”

    *

    Evening, the party began.

The setting sun shone on the pond in the Baron’s garden, shimmering with golden light. Hidden and omnipresent speakers flowed out with continuous foreign language songs. Ning Fei, standing in the corner, heard it and realized it was the same era and style as what he played in the studio in the afternoon, so he lowered his eyes and took a sip of champagne, hiding the silent smile at the corner of his mouth.

    – It was not in vain that I have been following the accounts of the Baron’s “favorite” models, seeing that they have been wearing vintage clothes recently, and knowing that the Baron also prefers vintage style recently.

Vintage, broken, ethereal, Ning Fei had already put all the styling points he could think of on Su Cenxi, and Su Cenxi’s own hardware conditions were indeed not bad. If this still doesn’t catch the Baron’s eye, nine times out of ten Gu and Su were stirring up trouble again.

Thinking of this, Ning Fei’s gaze silently turned to the distance. Baron de Silva was there, surrounded by several people, the most prominent of whom was Gu Hechen, who was with Su Cenxi.

Gu Hechen, despite being described as domineering and tyrannical, was still quite reliable when it came to serious matters. At least from Ning Fei’s point of view, the Baron and CEO Gu were chatting happily, and Su Cenxi occasionally opened his mouth to answer something. The people next to them couldn’t really get a word in with the Baron and CEO Gu, and could only echo them with smiling faces occasionally.

Ning Fei took the scene before him as a snack and slowly finished a glass of champagne. Then he put down his glass, stopped a passing wine-serving waiter, and while taking out a bill and stuffing it into the other person’s hand, whispered a few words in the other person’s ear.

The wine-serving waiter nodded, and Ning Fei let him go, turning around and leaving the living room.

    He had to go pee.

He walked forward along the corridor, casually took out his business card case from his pocket. Anyway, in this kind of dazzling occasion, no one would notice him at all, so he was at ease examining his business cards with his head down. Lest he hand out a business card with a bumped corner when he needed one…

Until he bumped into a wall. Oh, it was a “meat wall.”

“Hiss!” Ning Fei bumped head-on into the person coming out of the bathroom, frowned and looked up, and was immediately surprised, “You… Hey?!”

Isn’t this the high-quality “good thing” that was interrupted two weeks ago!

The man was tall and sturdy, filled out the casual suit quite stylishly, and even groomed his hair today, making him look even more sharp. He just stood in front of Ning Fei, looking down at Ning Fei, and the sense of oppression came silently.

Ning Fei didn’t seem nervous, his eyes swept over his open collar, and he smiled naturally: “It’s you.”

“Good thing” raised an eyebrow slightly: “Who are you?”

“What are you pretending for?” Ning Fei chuckled, shaking the business card still clamped between his fingers, “I gave you my business card. By the way, you haven’t compensated me for my shirt yet, have you?”

“Good thing” pulled down the business card and scanned it, his tone indifferent: “Ning Fei? Forgot.”

“It doesn’t matter.” Ning Fei wasn’t angry, smiling, he took back the business card, but put it in the other person’s chest pocket, “Just remember it this time.”

He could tell that the other person was deliberately answering like that. If he really didn’t remember him, bumping into each other wouldn’t hurt, he should have left long ago, why would he still stay to look at the business card?

Ning Fei originally thought that the other person not calling him meant that he didn’t want to “continue the relationship.” He didn’t expect to run into each other in this kind of place, and the other person even stayed to talk, so that means… there’s still a bit of hope, right?

He’s been so busy for so long, he hasn’t been able to find another source of fun. With “good thing” in front of him, Ning Fei started to have the idea of “taking another bite.”

So he began to inquire: “By the way, what are you doing here?”

“Good thing” had a “you know what I’m asking” expression, and asked: “Why do you think I’m here?”

Ning Fei thought this was his private matter that he didn’t want to answer, and didn’t necessarily need an answer, casually replying: “Oh, okay.”

“Good thing” then asked: “Why are you here?”

“Haha, following the boss, half work.” Ning Fei said, while tapping the business card he just put in his pocket with his fingertip, also tapping on the other person’s heart, “But I probably don’t need to be busy anymore. What about you? Are you still busy?”

“Good thing” had an impenetrable look: “Busy.”

Ning Fei thought to himself that he believed his lies, if he was busy, why would he be chatting here?

But Ning Fei didn’t refute it, and even straightened the other person’s collar: “Busy, it’s good to be busy. If you’re not busy…”

    “If you’re not busy?”

Ning Fei opened his mouth, but before he could say his main purpose, the special attention information ringtone on his phone rang. Ning Fei took out his phone and glanced at it, immediately cursing “fuck” under his breath.

“Good thing” was still adding fuel to the fire with a snicker: “Looks like you’re ‘again’ busy? You’re still… um?!”

Ning Fei grabbed his collar, pushed him into the bathroom, pressed him directly against the wall, and then kissed him!

Intense, deep, and harmonious, like the raging fire before kindling.

But just before “good thing” unconsciously raised his hand to hug him back, Ning Fei withdrew.

“If you’re not busy, stay here and wait for me, or give me a call later.” Ning Fei had to leave now, and was a little reluctant to leave the big guy in front of him, so he pushed the person to a place with no surveillance to have a dry addiction, “I’m going to be busy, bye!”

After speaking, he kissed the other person heavily again, and then turned around and left crisply.

“Good thing” leaned against the wall blankly for a few seconds before using the back of his hand to wipe his lips with a dazed expression.

“Tsk, this is the bathroom! Kissing in this kind of place…”
