Chapter 28: I’m sorry, Brother Fu is late.

Jiang Jiuchu feigned anger and turned her face away, but to prevent the man from suspecting her earlier actions, she endured her revulsion and placed her hands on his neck again.

Yu Qin walked unhurriedly beside the man, her hand hidden in her wide sleeve, slowly feeling for the hairpin, until she felt a small raised dot.

She recalled the scene she had seen in the cave; the girl held the hairpin with the head facing outwards.

With this in mind, she silently turned the hairpin around, pressed the dot with her thumb, and slowed her pace without changing her expression.

Jiang Jiuchu sensed Yu Qin’s presence beside her, slightly lagging behind, and knew that she had found the trick. She then tried to distract the man.

She looked up at the man and asked, “Will you kill us?”

The man in white looked down at her and smiled gently, “Don’t worry, I never kill women. I just have fun with them for a few days and then send them back.”

    “But you…?”

The man in white paused, watching the horror on the girl’s face in his arms. He smirked, “With your stunning beauty, I might not be willing to let you leave.”

    “But don’t worry, I most…”

Suddenly, he stopped speaking, instantly dodging as a streak of silver light flashed before him.

The man in white quickly put Jiang Jiuchu down and walked towards Yu Qin, “Trying to ambush me?”

Yu Qin’s face turned pale. She never expected to fail. She retreated, clutching the hairpin, and pressed it again towards the man in white.

The man in white leaped behind Yu Qin, drew the sword from his waist, and thrust it out without hesitation, the whole movement swift, ruthless, and accurate.

Yu Qin’s pupils widened as she fell to the ground, the hairpin falling from her hand.

Blood flowed from her chest, her life ebbing away, but she didn’t seem to feel much pain.

The fiery red sunset in the sky reflected in her pupils, making her suddenly recall a dream she had two days ago. It was as if it was the same in the dream, a large, red sun hanging in the sky, following her like a shadow, but it seemed even redder than this, blood-red…

Jiang Jiuchu was stunned, staring at the fallen Yu Qin, her eyes wide, tears falling silently.

The man in white bent down to pick up the plum blossom hairpin from the ground and walked step by step to Jiang Jiuchu. “I still prefer you screaming like you did just now.”

He finished speaking, held the hairpin in front of Jiang Jiuchu, and asked, “Tell me, what did you do to my brother? Is this hairpin yours?”

The man in white narrowed his eyes, watching Jiang Jiuchu. Seeing her dazed and silent, seemingly terrified, he didn’t waste any more time. He wrapped his arm around Jiang Jiuchu’s waist and rushed towards the cave, using his internal energy.

When he returned to the cave, he saw the person lying naked on the ground, his expression changing drastically. He immediately stepped forward and knelt down to check.

However, the person on the ground was already dead.

He stood up, walked to Jiang Jiuchu, his eyes filled with murderous intent, and held the hairpin in front of her again. “Whose hairpin is this?”

His brother had no external injuries, so it was obviously caused by the silver needle in the hidden weapon.

Jiang Jiuchu had regained her composure on the way back. Facing the man in white’s questioning, she immediately shook her head and denied, “It’s not mine.”

“Really? Then why did my brother fall by your bed?”

Jiang Jiuchu had already prepared her explanation, continuing to reply, “He… he saw that I was awake, and wanted to take liberties with me. Then, as soon as he walked to the bed, he suddenly fell to the ground.”

The man in white heard this and carefully thought through the process as Jiang Jiuchu said, feeling that she was not lying.

It was very possible that his brother couldn’t resist wanting to touch her, and that the woman just happened to be able to use the hidden weapon on his brother from behind.

He glanced at Jiang Jiuchu, grabbed her, and sat her on the stone bed. After tying her hands and feet, he dressed his brother, then carried him out of the cave.

Jiang Jiuchu knew that he must be going to bury his brother. Now was her only chance to escape.

She glanced at the broken cups on the opposite ground and immediately slid off the stone bed, hopping over bit by bit.

Her hands were tied behind her back this time. She found the right spot, turned her back to a porcelain shard, and sat down on it.

After successfully obtaining the porcelain shard, she quickly sawed back and forth.

Soon, she had cut through the rope. She quickly untied the ropes on her feet, immediately got up, and ran towards the cave entrance.

She had to go out and find a place to hide first. When it got dark, she would slowly feel her way out along the mountain path. Or perhaps, someone would come to save her soon.

It was dinner time now, and she hadn’t returned yet. Her mother would definitely notice something was wrong and go back to the city to find someone to look for her.

But as soon as she ran out of the cave, the man in white flew in front of her, landing in front of her, and smiled. “You’re quite capable! You can even untie this?”

Jiang Jiuchu braked suddenly. She didn’t expect this person to return so quickly. How shallow was the pit he dug? Or did he not bury him at all, and just abandon his brother’s body in the wilderness?

“Are you going to go back in yourself, or am I going to carry you in?” The man in white looked at Jiang Jiuchu, saying unhappily, “Little beauty, I’m in a bad mood, so you better not make me angry.”

Jiang Jiuchu knew there was no hope the first moment she saw the man. She turned around and walked back, completely despairing. Was she really going to die here like that woman, unable to escape?

Why did she always encounter this kind of thing? She was kidnapped as a child, and kidnapped again as an adult. And it was always in the mountains and forests, making it hard to escape.

Suddenly, the sound of swords clashing behind her interrupted Jiang Jiuchu’s thoughts. She immediately turned her head to look, only to see a masked man in blue flying towards them.

The light of the setting sun behind the man was dazzling, reflecting in Jiang Jiuchu’s eyes, shining brightly.

It was her Brother Fu. Jiang Jiuchu looked at the man’s familiar figure, the same blue outfit, and the Xuan Iron Bracer on his wrist, recognizing him at once.

Seeing that his hidden weapon had been blocked, Song Fuge immediately flew forward and engaged the man in white in a fierce battle. For a time, the two were evenly matched.

But soon, more than a dozen men in black rushed over from behind. After joining the battle, the situation instantly reversed, and the man in white quickly fell to the ground.

Jiang Jiuchu watched Song Fuge take off his mask and walk towards her, a surge of grievances welling up in her heart, and tears instantly fell.

She stepped forward and hugged Song Fuge tightly, burying her face in his chest. The fear she had suppressed earlier was completely released, and she cried without any restraint.

Song Fuge hugged Jiang Jiuchu back, feeling a pang of pain in his chest. But it was this pain that made him feel that his heart had come back to life.

Heaven knew how scared he was when he saw Yu Qin lying in a pool of blood. That fear swept through his whole body, as if taking him back to when he was ten years old.

He gently patted Jiang Jiuchu’s back and said softly, “I’m sorry, Brother Fu is late.”
