    Worry

After the weekend ended, the boss’s concern about Shen Zhiyu’s activities became increasingly frequent, so much so that he would ask about him almost every hour.

Wei Yan had just finished reporting on Shen Zhiyu’s work situation less than half an hour ago when he was called into the office again.

He thought General Manager Jiang had other work arrangements, so he specifically brought his notebook in.

To his surprise, as soon as he entered, he saw Jiang Zhou frowning deeply, staring intently at his phone screen with a serious expression.

    “General Manager Jiang?”

Jiang Zhou put down his phone and looked up at Wei Yan: “You just said that Teacher Shen is scheduled to record that show, Crazy Motorcycle, tomorrow afternoon?”

    “Yes.”

Hearing this, Jiang Zhou’s frown deepened.

Wei Yan was a little confused, “General Manager Jiang, is there a problem with this show?”

Jiang Zhou turned his phone towards him and clicked on a video.

In the footage, a blurry figure was violently thrown from a high-speed, sliding motorcycle, crashing heavily into the isolation barrier of the buffer zone. It tumbled several times like a broken doll before finally stopping.

Wei Yan saw the video title, which read “Crazy Motorcycle Live Footage,” and immediately understood, “Is General Manager Jiang worried about Teacher Shen?”

Jiang Zhou nodded and asked, “Did Teacher Shen insist on taking this show himself?”

“Yes. This resource was not on the list we provided; Teacher Shen took it on externally. I heard he started looking for a coach to practice half a month ago. He seems particularly interested in this challenge.”

As the second variety show Shen Zhiyu accepted, this project was not a good choice by any measure. It not only had a high danger factor but also low production investment, and even the broadcast popularity was mediocre.

If it weren’t for Teacher Shen’s strong personal desire, Wei Yan couldn’t think of any other reason.

Jiang Zhou naturally thought of this point, feeling a wave of headache. He raised his hand to rub his temples and asked Wei Yan, “Do you think there’s any way to push this program off?”

    Wei Yan: …..

He carefully considered his words: “General Manager Jiang, I understand your concerns. But this is, after all, a project Teacher Shen personally favored and took on externally, and he has been actively preparing for it recently. If we intervene forcefully and cancel it directly, I’m afraid Teacher Shen will be unhappy and feel that you are overly interfering with his work.”

After listening, Jiang Zhou let out a heavy sigh, his eyes showing an uncontrollable redness and anxiety.

Wei Yan thought for a moment and tentatively proposed a compromise.

“General Manager Jiang, if you are truly uneasy, why don’t we intervene now and provide more comprehensive safety guarantees for Teacher Shen?”

This was indeed the most appropriate solution at the moment.

“Fine. Contact the production team immediately, inject capital into this variety show at once, and demand to participate in the review of all safety procedures. Vehicle safety, protective gear standards, track and obstacle setup. Every single step must be signed off by our designated professionals.”

“In addition, assemble an exclusive accompanying team. Do not use the production team’s motorcycle coach; we will hire the industry’s top expert, who will be solely responsible for Shen Zhiyu’s training and safety guidance throughout the process.”

“Also, assign professional physical therapists and medical personnel to be on standby at all times. Pay special attention to protecting his waist, and prepare protection plans and emergency protocols in advance.”

    Wei Yan noted down everything.

After giving the instructions, Jiang Zhou was still uneasy, “Book me a flight. I’ll go there myself.”

    On the other side.

Shen Zhiyu was going over the schedule with the program director when a field coordinator quickly walked over, barely concealing his excitement as he whispered to the director: “Director, we just received notification that Chenxing Studio has decided to make a strategic investment in our program, and the funds have already been quickly deposited!”

The director was stunned, clearly unfamiliar with the name. “Chenxing Studio? Which studio is that? We’ve never dealt with them before. Why would they suddenly be interested in our show?”

“They said they highly recognize our program concept and hope to jointly create a more refined production, especially regarding safety guarantees. They will send an expert team to help us raise the standards.”

Shen Zhiyu, who was standing nearby and focused on the task at hand, felt his ears twitch when he heard the words “safety guarantees.”

He casually asked, feigning indifference, “That’s sudden?”

“It is unexpected,” the coordinator continued, “But the other party has complete documentation—the official seal and business license have all been sent over. The online signing process was completed in less than half an hour, and the investment funds were deposited in real-time.”

The director felt increasingly unreal, “Could this be a scam? Did they mention any other requirements?”

“Aside from emphasizing safety standards, there are no additional conditions. The other party also stated that the safety team will be in place by tonight at the latest and suggested we wait for them to arrive before continuing training.”

The director was still skeptical, “Can something this good really fall into my lap?”

Shen Zhiyu chuckled lightly and half-jokingly said, “Maybe it’s the good luck brought by me, your lucky star.”

“You might be right!” The director slapped his thigh. “Look, good things happen as soon as you arrive. Maybe you really are our lucky charm!”

    Sudden investment, raising safety standards…

When these keywords were linked together, the implication was too obvious.

This person, clearly worried about him, yet unwilling to directly obstruct him and cause displeasure, had to use this roundabout method, carefully hiding his concern within a commercial investment.

Could this kind of thoroughness, this careful attention, truly be just “loving the house and the crow” because of his relationship with Yuan Chong?

    Shen Zhiyu grew increasingly suspicious.

The car had just approached the perimeter of the training ground and hadn’t even stopped when Jiang Zhou spotted Shen Zhiyu through the wire fence.

On the track, Shen Zhiyu was hunched over a motorcycle with sharp lines. The bike was leaning at an almost extreme angle, the knee guard scraping the ground, leaving a trail of breathtaking sparks.

The huge engine roar was like a beast’s bellow as the motorcycle whizzed past the edge of the curve, completing a cornering maneuver that was perfect yet terrifyingly dangerous.

The movement was smooth and beautiful, highly impressive to watch, but the danger of being mere millimeters from the ground made Jiang Zhou instantly turn cold all over.

“Stop the car!” His voice was strained and urgent.

Before the car had fully stopped, Jiang Zhou pushed the door open and rushed to the side of the track, his fingers unconsciously gripping the cold wire fence tightly.

His eyes were fixed on the figure who had just stabilized the bike and was slowly decelerating. His chest heaved violently from the momentary feeling of suffocation he had just experienced.

Shen Zhiyu stopped the motorcycle, rested one foot on the ground, and smoothly removed his helmet. His sweat-soaked bangs clung to his forehead. As if sensing something, he instinctively turned his head toward Jiang Zhou’s direction.

Jiang Zhou’s heart panicked. He quickly pulled down his hat brim and turned sideways, urgently whispering to the two genuine staff members who followed him: “Go and liaise.”

The two understood and immediately stepped forward, perfectly blocking Shen Zhiyu’s line of sight.

The production team’s liaison personnel also came forward at this time.

Jiang Zhou’s heartbeat still hadn’t calmed down. The thrilling scene just now replayed repeatedly in his mind, filling him with lingering fear.

He couldn’t help but question the program staff member who came to greet him in a severe tone: “Didn’t we agree that training would only proceed after the professional safety team we dispatched was in place? Why did you arbitrarily start early?”

The other party was clearly taken aback and immediately said, “Please rest assured, we have our own professional team guiding the site, and safety is absolutely guaranteed!”

“Rest assured?” Jiang Zhou’s voice suddenly rose, the suppressed anxiety instantly erupting.

“The accident video that was trending on the hot search this afternoon—wasn’t that the result of your program team’s professional guidance? How can you expect me to rest assured!”

The staff member hadn’t expected the investor’s representative to be so sharp. He was momentarily speechless and could only sheepishly explain: “That was an accident. It was mainly because the guest at the time didn’t fully follow instructions…”

Just then, Shen Zhiyu finished his conversation with the director. Seemingly sensing the tense atmosphere on this side, he strolled over.

The program coordinator quickly introduced, “Director, Teacher Shen, these gentlemen are representatives from Chenxing Studio.”

The director nodded in greeting, and Shen Zhiyu naturally turned his gaze toward them.

Jiang Zhou subconsciously pulled his hat brim down further, wishing he could become invisible.

“I seemed to hear some arguing just now. Is there a problem?” Shen Zhiyu’s gaze swept over the group, finally landing on the somewhat awkward coordinator.

“Oh, it’s nothing major. We were just discussing the accident that occurred during Jiang Ze’s training this afternoon.”

Hearing this, a look of understanding flashed in Shen Zhiyu’s eyes.

So that was it. Jiang Zhou must have seen that accident video, which is why he was so jumpy. Not only did he quickly invest to strengthen safety measures, but he also disguised himself as a staff member to come to the site.

This person really seemed addicted to sneaking around to visit.

Thinking of this, Shen Zhiyu didn’t feel offended at all. Instead, a sense of indescribable warmth rose in his heart, finding the other party’s elaborate efforts…

    Even a little cute.

Jiang Zhou keenly sensed Shen Zhiyu’s gaze. Fearing that the longer he stayed, the easier it would be to expose himself, he hurriedly made an excuse about needing to use the restroom and tried to slip away.

Seeing Jiang Zhou turn to leave, Shen Zhiyu quietly gave the director a few instructions and subtly followed him.

The training base’s restroom was located at the end of the rest area, a slightly secluded spot.

When Shen Zhiyu pushed the door open, he saw Jiang Zhou with his back to the door, hands braced on the edge of the sink, head bowed. His entire posture conveyed tension.

With a soft click, Shen Zhiyu reached back and locked the door.

The sudden sound made Jiang Zhou sharply raise his head. Their eyes met in the mirror.

Jiang Zhou’s body instantly froze. He almost reflexively reached toward the sink, but his hand grasped empty air.

The hat had been snatched by Shen Zhiyu one step ahead.

“General Manager Jiang.” Shen Zhiyu slowly approached, his voice particularly clear in the tiled, enclosed space. “Did you come all this way just to inspect the work?” His tone carried unmistakable teasing.

Jiang Zhou turned around, leaning against the cold sink, trying to maintain the last shred of composure. “I was passing by and decided to check on the project progress.”

“Is that so?” Shen Zhiyu stopped one step away from him, his gaze fixed on Jiang Zhou’s slightly flustered eyes.

“To check on project progress, you need to disguise yourself, mingle with the staff, and then hide as soon as you see me?”
