IS Chapter 10
by VolareChapter 10
The Sichuan region is known for its unique flowers and herbs, secluded forests, and treacherous peaks.
Silver Moon Slope is a gentle depression nestled between two mountain ranges in Sichuan, named for the exceptionally clear and serene moonlight that bathes it at night.
Ye Zhuo arrived at Silver Moon Slope in the early morning.
The east was just beginning to glow white, and the morning mist drifted ethereally through the deep green mountain forests. There was no sound of insects or cicadas, only the rustling of his footsteps as he walked through the grass.
He entered the mountain slope with his sword and soon arrived in the embrace of the two peaks.
After standing in the center, silence enveloped him. The two mountains loomed like giants, looking down.
Ye Zhuo said, “Come out.”
His voice was calm and spread throughout the mountain slope with the cool mountain breeze.
The white mist in front dissipated, and a burly figure silently appeared. One person also appeared on each of the other three sides.
The four men each held weapons, surrounding him.
Judging by their aura, their Qi and blood were vigorous, and their breaths were strong.
The one in front, like himself, was at the peak of the Integration Realm, and the two on the left and right were the same. The one behind had a profound Dao rhythm, likely in the early stage of the Tribulation Realm.
Ye Zhuo was not surprised.
Such a rare ambush location would naturally not be left empty.
“You actually noticed,” the man in front sneered. “I heard that Xiao Zhenzong used to have a good relationship with you. Could it be that old thing betrayed us with his duplicity and secretly revealed our plan to you?”
Ye Zhuo sized up the rough face in front of him.
He didn’t recognize it.
Ye Zhuo: “How many Sword Saints are there in this world? Do I need Xiao Zhenzong to give me pointers?”
“Arrogant!” the man shouted. “How many years have you lived? How could you possibly know the foundation of the Immortal Dao?”
“I don’t know the foundation of the Immortal Dao,” Ye Zhuo said. “But the foundation of the Martial Sect doesn’t seem to be much today.”
“So you’re still saying you didn’t collude with Xiao Zhenzong!” the man roared, his eyes wide with anger.
Ye Zhuo was speechless.
With that roar, the man in front swelled in size, and the pair of large maces in his hands crackled with lightning: “Ye Zhuo! When you killed my son, did you ever think that you would have to pay with blood today?”
So that was it.
Ye Zhuo was unmoved, his hand still on his sword.
This reaction only fueled Lou Kui’s anger.
His beloved son, Lou Ke, had died inexplicably. When he tried to seek justice, he was suppressed by the Dao Sect, which made him feel frustrated.
The culprit, however, was so calm, as if he didn’t take him, the father, seriously at all, and didn’t care about his son’s death.
Lou Kui couldn’t bear it any longer: “Ye Zhuo, pay for my son’s life today!”
“Too much nonsense,” Ye Zhuo drew his sword, his voice cold and decisive. “Come at me together.”
Lou Kui laughed: “I alone am enough to deal with you!”
What was this Ye Zhuo? His reputation was only a recent thing.
He was still wet behind the ears, and he had been forced into the Integration Realm by some method. They said he was the “Number One Sword Under Heaven” and “capable of fighting the Tribulation Realm,” but who didn’t know that these Sword Cultivators loved to stubbornly stick to their own path, insisting on fighting only those with the same realm of cultivation?
Even if a Foundation Establishment kid defeated a Tribulation Realm senior in such a fight, what was so strange about it? It was just a spectacle to amuse people!
How could it compare to his own solid foundation, forged through thousands of trials?
“Die!”
The earth trembled slightly as Lou Kui held his thousand-pound maces and leaped up, attacking Ye Zhuo.
This move of his was his famous skill, the “Plummet” technique. It was not only as powerful as a meteor striking the earth, but it could also use its immense energy to lock the enemy in place, forcing him to take this thunderous blow head-on.
Ye Zhuo stood still expressionlessly, as if he had been captured by his move.
Lou Kui felt confident and added another twelve points of strength.
The mace’s energy swept across the surroundings, and the mace body instantly arrived above Ye Zhuo’s head.
The next moment, Ye Zhuo’s clothes fluttered slightly, and his figure leaped up.
Lou Kui’s strike missed, and the maces slammed into the ground, causing the earth to shake violently.
In mid-air, the roar of a dragon suddenly erupted.
Sharp Sword Intent suddenly poured into the Reverse Scale Sword. Just as Lou Kui’s strike hit the ground, Ye Zhuo held his sword and slashed out a crescent-shaped vertical split from top to bottom!
The fierce Sword Qi slashed down, as if taking away all sound from the world.
At that moment, Lou Kui couldn’t hear any sound. He could only see a hook of cold, stern light magnifying in front of his eyes.
Then, a silent boom was heard.
A trace of blood trickled from the corner of Lou Kui’s mouth, and cracks burst open on his bronze-like skin. His body sank a foot, and the ground beneath his feet cracked, the fissures extending outward for ten zhang.
Lou Kui was furious.
In the end, he had been forced to take this junior Ye Zhuo’s strike head-on!
What a disgrace!
His fighting spirit did not diminish but instead increased. His scarlet eyes stared intently at Ye Zhuo in the air, his throat heaving, his lips moving as if to chant something.
Ye Zhuo couldn’t help but take another look at him.
He had taken his strike head-on without any real wounds. His protective shield was well-refined.
He hadn’t retreated and could continue his next move. He also had some courage.
What was he chanting?
The Martial Cultivator’s body refinement methods were mostly inherited from the Buddhist Vajra cultivation methods.
The Lion’s Roar Technique? The Eight Syllable Mantra?
Ye Zhuo pinched his fingers and wiped them across the sword body, arousing Sword Qi to protect his body.
Then he heard Lou Kui roar: “Master, senior brothers, come and help me!”
Ye Zhuo was speechless.
