Chapter 11

Shen ChiTai rushed home, his heart in turmoil. He pushed open the door, and the living room was pitch black. Only a few strands of faint light from outside the window outlined patches of mottled shadows on the floor.

He turned on the light on the wall and saw Shang Jue curled up on the sofa, unresponsive. He quickly walked over and knelt down beside the sofa, looking at the alpha with a distressed heart. The alpha’s lips were pale and bloodless. “You have a fever. Why didn’t you go back to your room and rest?”

Shang Jue groggily opened his eyes, a dim light flickering in them. His voice was weak and aggrieved, “I thought gege wasn’t coming back.”

Shen ChiTai’s heart softened. After all, he had watched this person grow up. No matter how much they argued, he couldn’t just ignore Shang Jue’s life or death.

“I’ll take you to the hospital first.” Shen ChiTai bent down to help him up.

Shang Jue didn’t speak. The alpha’s gaze suddenly swept over the bright red kiss mark on the omega’s neck. Shang Jue’s pupils instantly contracted, dark and deep as an abyss, but the surface was like a calm, waveless pool.

“Gege,” Shang Jue called out softly.

“Mm,” Shen ChiTai responded, his voice flat but unable to hide the complex emotions in his heart.

“Am I interrupting something good?” His voice was tinged with an almost imperceptible bitterness.

Shen ChiTai lowered his eyes, his expression hidden in the dimness, unreadable, and the slightly dazed look in his eyes that the alpha couldn’t see. After a long silence, he softly said two reassuring words.

    “It’s nothing.”

He helped Shang Jue up and drove the alpha to the nearest hospital.

The doctor said it was just a common cold. Fortunately, it wasn’t the alpha’s susceptibility period, so there wasn’t a big problem. They gave him an injection to reduce the fever and told him to rest and observe for a while. If everything was fine, he could go home.

By the time the two of them came out of the hospital and arrived home, it was already past two in the morning.

Although Shang Jue’s fever had subsided a bit, he still looked exhausted.

Shen ChiTai adjusted the blanket for him and asked how he was feeling, if he felt better, if he was hungry, and so on. Shang Jue forced a weak smile. “Gege, don’t worry. I’m strong. I’ll be fine after a good sleep.”

He even had the nerve to say he was strong. Who was the strong one who was lying in bed now, needing an omega to take care of him?

Shen ChiTai only thought these words in his heart.

Shang Jue obediently lay in bed, like an injured puppy, his eyes wet as he looked at Shen ChiTai, who was sitting by the bed. He asked, “Is gege going back to his own room?”

“Yes, you sleep well. The fever should be gone by tomorrow morning.” Shen ChiTai tried his best to restrain his soft heart.

Shang Jue’s eyes turned red, his voice thick with a nasal tone, and his breathing was slightly heavy. “Even if I’m sick now, is gege really willing to leave me alone?”

“What nonsense are you talking about? You’re sick now, you need to rest well. Don’t be silly, go to sleep.” Shen ChiTai finished speaking and stood up, intending to leave.

Shang Jue hurriedly reached out from the blanket, quickly grabbing the omega’s wrist, his eyes and tone filled with a weak plea. “Gege, I can’t sleep without you.”

“A’Jue,” Shen ChiTai called out helplessly. How did he become so clingy just from being sick?

“I’m sick now, I won’t do anything to gege. What if I get a fever again in the second half of the night after gege leaves?” Shang Jue’s voice trembled. His hand seemed to be forcefully grabbing Shen ChiTai, but if the omega wanted to, he could easily shake off his hand.

In the end, Shen ChiTai couldn’t resist him. He kicked off his shoes, lifted a corner of the blanket, and lay down, deliberately keeping a certain distance from him. They left about half a fist’s space between them, separated by the same blanket.

The alpha turned over to lie on his side, hugging Shen ChiTai with the blanket.

“Gege, you smell so good.” Shang Jue smelled an unfamiliar pheromone on him, and a barely perceptible coldness flashed in the man’s eyes.

Shen ChiTai turned his back to him, unmoved, and kept urging him, “Don’t talk, you should go to sleep too.”

Shang Jue unwillingly moved closer to the omega, his hot chest pressed tightly against his back. He reached into the blanket, wrapped his arms around his waist, and hugged him with all his strength.

Because he had a fever, his body was much hotter than usual, his chest like a burning fire.

“Gege, I want to look at your face when I sleep.”

Shen ChiTai closed his eyes and didn’t move. He realized that this kid always took an inch after being given a foot. He hardened his voice and said, “If you keep this up, I’m going back next door.”

Shang Jue muttered softly in his ear in a hoarse voice, “Don’t.”

Shen ChiTai sighed softly, slowly turned over, and lay face to face with him. He looked at Shang Jue’s face and said helplessly, “Be good, go to sleep.”

“Gege,” Shang Jue called out again.

    “I’m here.”

The alpha asked him, “Will you secretly sneak away after I fall asleep?”

    “No.”

Shen ChiTai was a little sleepy and unconsciously closed his eyes as he spoke, not wanting to talk anymore.

Seeing this, Shang Jue also fell silent.

The night was quiet and silent, and in the air, two pheromones quietly intertwined, becoming increasingly Deep.

Shen ChiTai woke up once in the second half of the night, got up to go to the bathroom, and quietly stood by the bed after returning. The person on the bed was sleeping soundly, his face buried in the pillow.

The omega approached, bent down, and couldn’t help but gently touch his forehead. Good, his temperature had returned to normal. By the bright moonlight outside the window, he looked at Shang Jue’s weak face when he was sick, and couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache.

Sure enough, even if this kid often did those offensive things to him on weekdays, he still couldn’t bring himself to say too harsh words to the alpha.

He lifted the blanket and slowly lay back down. As soon as he covered himself with the blanket, the person next to him leaned over and hugged him, muttering two unclear words, and then there was no response.

Shen ChiTai didn’t push him away. He closed his eyes in this position and gradually fell asleep.

He was awakened the next day by an restless hand on his body.

The omega was both ashamed and annoyed, wanting to push away the mischievous hand.

For a moment, he suddenly regretted it. Feeling sorry for Shang Jue last night was undoubtedly asking for trouble.

He pretended to be annoyed and growled softly, “Shang Jue, if you keep this up, I’m really going to get angry!”

“But I’m uncomfortable.” Shang Jue hugged the struggling person in his arms even tighter, afraid that he would escape. “It’s all gege’s pheromones, I’m so uncomfortable, help me, okay? Just this once, I promise, this will definitely be the last time.”

“No!” Shen ChiTai was annoyed. He encountered this situation early in the morning. It was his carelessness.

The alpha’s strong, pungent pheromones flowed in every corner of the room, and Shen ChiTai gradually couldn’t resist it. He knew that Shang Jue was doing it on purpose. No matter how he pushed and resisted, it was just like an ant trying to shake a tree, a waste of effort.

He was thinking that if Shang Jue wasn’t his brother, he might have pushed him away without hesitation.

Shang Jue frowned and gently rubbed his lips around his glands, occasionally biting with his teeth. “Gege, I’m uncomfortable…”

Shen ChiTai raised his soft right hand and touched his forehead. The temperature had completely returned to normal. No fever, but this situation wasn’t good for him.

Shang Jue’s actions became more and more daring, and Shen ChiTai frowned tightly. He tried his best to press down on the big hand that was moving around on his chest, his cheeks blushing brightly.

“Shang Jue, you’re making things very difficult for me.”

“Gege, can’t I just do it this once?” Shang Jue held his earlobe in his mouth and bit it gently, his voice suppressed and very soft. “I won’t mark gege, I promise. After this time, I’ll never pester gege again, okay? Gege.”

Shen ChiTai’s heart moved. Although Shang Jue’s words weren’t very credible, he still wanted to try.

    Maybe…

Maybe he’d bet right this time.

“Do you mean what you say?”

“I mean it.” Shang Jue blurted out almost immediately.

Shen ChiTai hesitated for a moment, just about to open his mouth, “A’Jue, you…”

“Since it’s the last time, I definitely can’t use gege’s hand, otherwise it would be too perfunctory.” Shang Jue’s eyes were ambiguous, and he lowered his head to gently kiss the back of his neck. “Close your legs, it won’t be too uncomfortable.”

Shen ChiTai was shocked, his face flushed red. “Wouldn’t that be almost the same as… as doing that kind of thing?”

“I’m not going in, what is gege afraid of? Or does gege not trust me?” Shang Jue stared at Shen ChiTai in front of him. Every expression on the omega’s face, whether it was thoughtful or frowning, exuded a seductive aura, making Shang Jue’s blood boil and his blood vessels dilate.

“Just this once, and you’re not allowed to do this again in the future.” Shen ChiTai said through gritted teeth.

“Gege says it, I’ve always listened to gege the most since I was little.” A hint of smugness flashed in Shang Jue’s eyes where he couldn’t see it. “Gege, your pheromones smell so good.”

Shen ChiTai’s vision gradually became blurred, and his body uncontrollably lunged forward, only to be pulled back by the person behind him. A strange emotion instantly surged into his heart, shame and disgust, and a hint of inexplicable joy.

He tried desperately to forget the experience at this moment, but his brain seemed to be out of control. The omega bit his lip tightly, refusing to make a sound.

Suddenly, his ear felt hot, and Shang Jue whispered something in his ear, panting slightly. Shen ChiTai’s face immediately turned red, and he lowered his eyelashes, allowing the person to bully him.

A stream of hot liquid accompanied by the alpha suddenly tilting his head back, a little splashing on his peach-red face.

Since that day, the two had few opportunities to meet.

Shen ChiTai was ashamed and embarrassed, and couldn’t dare to look Shang Jue in the eyes. He got up early every day before dawn and went to the cat cafe, just to avoid meeting Shang Jue.

Shang Jue knew that he was deliberately avoiding him.

When Shang Lu was at home, the two were cautious and didn’t dare to make too many moves, for fear of arousing the man’s suspicion.

When Shang Lu was away, Shang Jue would recklessly hug Shen ChiTai, his words full of teasing and flirting, and his behavior had already crossed the original boundaries between them.

Shen ChiTai was later afraid of him, and every day he used the cat cafe as an excuse to get home very late, estimating that Shang Lu had also returned.

Shang Jue saw several times that familiar car sending the omega to the intersection not far from home and stopping. Shen ChiTai got out of the car, greeted everyone when he got home, took a shower first, and then, under the pretext that he had already eaten with friends, went straight back to his room.

Shang Jue had no chance to sit down with him alone and chat quietly.

Shen ChiTai’s room was always quiet and silent. Shang Jue passed by his door before going to bed, and there was no sound in the room. If he didn’t know better, he would have thought there was no one inside.

He stood by the door, hesitated for a long time, and raised his hand. But in the last second before it was about to fall on the door, he slowly retracted it, held it tightly by his side, bit his teeth, and returned to his room.

Early the next morning, Shang Jue got up early at six o’clock to prepare to go out for a morning run. He passed by Shen ChiTai’s room and saw that the omega’s door was tightly closed, and it didn’t seem like there was anyone inside.

Downstairs, Shang Lu was eating breakfast. He walked down, his eyes fixed on the empty seat, his eyes gradually dimming.

When Shen ChiTai saw Shang Jue at the entrance of the pet shop, a look of disbelief flashed in his eyes.

He had been running this shop for almost two years, and Shang Jue had never stepped into it because he was allergic to cats. But today, he came unexpectedly. It was just that the timing was really bad. He didn’t want to see the alpha now.
