Chapter 92: Accompanying Me in Rehabilitation

Lin Sui cleared his throat, hiding his thoughts, and pushed Gu Nian back into the house.

To be honest, Lin Sui still felt like he was dreaming. The events of the past few minutes had completely subverted his understanding of the plot. Wasn’t it said that the male leads in CEO novels were all ignorant of the law? It seemed that rumors were not to be believed.

He didn’t know if Duan Miao understood the law, but Gu Nian clearly looked like a good citizen who abided by the law, directly citing the law when things happened.

Lin Sui glanced at Gu Nian and saw the man who had been so imposing a second ago now looking at him cautiously, as if worried that he would be angry. When he looked over, Gu Nian quickly said, “I really don’t have anything with Duan Miao! Really! The reason he was able to find the house was because there was a traitor in the company. This will absolutely not happen again!”

Gu Nian repeatedly emphasized, wishing he could swear every oath in the world. Lin Sui couldn’t help but chuckle and gently poked Gu Nian’s tightly furrowed brow.

“I didn’t say I didn’t believe you,” Lin Sui said, amused. “You’re acting like I’m going to throw you away and run away from home. Why are you so nervous?”

Gu Nian reacted quickly, grabbing Lin Sui’s hand before he could retract it, bringing it to his lips for a kiss, and looking at Lin Sui expectantly, “I’m just afraid you’ll leave me. I don’t know how I’d live without you.”

Lin Sui’s face flushed red, but he didn’t take his hand back, letting Gu Nian hold it, and muttered softly, “How cheesy, talking about not being able to live…”

Although he said that, the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but turn up, his beautiful almond eyes slightly curved, with stars twinkling inside. Gu Nian stared blankly, pulling him closer and whispering many more affectionate words. Lin Sui eventually couldn’t even lift his head because of shyness, hiding in Gu Nian’s arms to avoid him.

He didn’t know where Gu Nian had learned these tricks. Lin Sui touched his burning face, clearly he used to be innocent and didn’t understand anything.

This matter was considered completely turned over, and Duan Miao seemed to have disappeared, never appearing in their lives again. However, Gu Nian still felt lingering fear. Coincidentally, the most critical moment had passed. Gu Zhi Cai was just lingering on his last breath, with only some finishing work left. Gu Nian simply moved his office back home, working while also increasing the intensity of his rehabilitation.

Dr. Chen looked disapproving when he heard Gu Nian’s request, because Gu Nian’s rehabilitation was progressing very well. In at most a year, he would be able to return to a normal life. There was no need to force things to grow faster, as it might have the opposite effect.

But Gu Nian unexpectedly insisted, even using a pleading tone, which startled Dr. Chen. In the end, he had to compromise, staying up for several nights to research a timetable that could maximize the efficiency of rehabilitation, with requirements specified even for diet.

Later, he learned that Gu Nian was so anxious because Lin Sui’s birthday was approaching. He wanted to stand up on that day and give his lover a real hug.

Lin Sui was unaware of all this, and he was busier every day than the last, because graduation season was coming soon. Fortunately, his graduation thesis and graduation project were almost ready. As long as he passed the defense, he could get his diploma. Lin Sui was very much looking forward to it. Even if he was as busy as a dog, he was still smiling, full of energy.

Shi Qingzhou, who was equally busy as a dog because of graduation, couldn’t understand it at all. Now, he felt a headache just thinking about graduation matters, and he had a workaholic like Lin Sui by his side, increasing the level of pain more than tenfold.

One day, after once again leaving the library at closing time, Shi Qingzhou, like a wandering soul, hugged his computer and looked at the straight-backed youth in front of him, finally unable to resist asking the question he had been curious about for a long time: “Why have you been so energetic lately? You seem like you don’t get tired. I think you sleep even less than me, right?”

As Shi Qingzhou spoke, he enviously touched Lin Sui’s face, which didn’t have any acne at all, feeling even more unfair. How could someone still have such good skin even when staying up late!

“Hehe, really?” Lin Sui touched his nose, a little embarrassed, and said softly, “Aren’t our graduation projects going to be sent to competitions? I want to try to get a good ranking and give the trophy to Gu Nian.”

    Shi Qingzhou: …

Okay, so it’s the power of love, right? He didn’t deserve it.

This single dog felt like he had been hit with ten thousand points of damage.

Lin Sui didn’t notice Shi Qingzhou’s pale face. It was rare for someone to talk to him about relationships, so he couldn’t help but continue, “Also, this way I can be closer to Gu Nian. There are so many of his trophies at home, and I want to have one that can be displayed with his.”

Shi Qingzhou was stunned for a moment, but didn’t say anything.

“It’s a little silly, right?” Lin Sui grinned, his thick eyelashes drooping down, casting a small shadow. His profile was coated with a hazy line under the streetlights, and a very faint loneliness was revealed in his eyes, “But I just feel like Gu Nian is a little too good. Sometimes I feel like I’m not good enough, so I want to be more excellent so that I can be a good match for him.”

The night road at ten o’clock was very quiet, with only the occasional sound of vehicles passing by, making the quietness even more obvious. Shi Qingzhou didn’t answer for a long time, and Lin Sui touched his neck a little awkwardly, “I’m a bit pretentious, right? I also feel like I always think too much. I seem to have said a bit too much.”

Shi Qingzhou took a deep breath and angrily flicked Lin Sui’s forehead, leaving a red mark.

“You, do you know that saying these things is too much!” Shi Qingzhou crossed his arms, shaking his head while angrily saying, “Do you even know how excellent you are? There are rumors about you all over the school, okay? I don’t know how many juniors ask me about you every day, and you’re actually saying this kind of thing. Anyone else would really think you’re showing off.”

“Show, showing off?” Lin Sui blinked, a little dazed, and said helplessly, “I didn’t mean to.”

“I know, ahhh, really, I can’t stand you.” Shi Qingzhou stepped forward and stood side by side with Lin Sui, vigorously ruffling the youth’s soft black hair, messing up his well-behaved hairstyle before he felt a little better.

He said helplessly and with pity, “I really don’t understand how such an excellent person like you can also be insecure, but, you just need to know that you are very excellent. In the eyes of your peers, you are like a star overhead. If even you are like this, then should I even bother to live?”

“And what’s with the matching or not matching? It’s Gu Nian who struck gold being with you, that old straight man. He’s seven years older than you, come on. It would obviously be better to find someone the same age as you, seven years is practically two generation gaps.”

Lin Sui tightened his grip on the books in his arms, a little dizzy as he digested information that was completely different from what he had imagined. Hearing this, he subconsciously retorted, “Gu Nian is very good, no one is better than him.”

Shi Qingzhou was silent for a moment, looking at his friend who had obviously developed a love brain, and flicked his forehead again, feeling helpless.

Lin Sui covered his forehead, wanting to pretend to be angry for a moment, but smiled before he could even put on a straight face. Although perhaps it was Shi Qingzhou’s friendship filter, he should really be pretty good too, right?

After separating from Shi Qingzhou and returning home, Lin Sui bumped into Dr. Chen, who was about to leave. Lin Sui was a little surprised, “It’s so late, and you’re only finishing rehabilitation now. Won’t that cause problems?”

This wasn’t the first time. The rehabilitation time seemed to have become much longer recently, and Lin Sui was worried that Gu Nian might have emotional problems.

Dr. Chen habitually pushed up his glasses, facing Lin Sui with a little guilt, and said in a professional tone, “It’s all within the reasonable range of rehabilitation intensity, you can rest assured. And Gu Nian is not a person who will act emotionally. If he couldn’t accept it himself, I wouldn’t be able to force him.”

When he said the last half of the sentence, Dr. Chen rarely felt a little guilty. Gu Nian was indeed a calm person before, but now… ha, an incurable love brain, that’s all.

Lin Sui thought about it and felt that it made sense, but he was still worried. After hesitating for a long time, he mustered up the courage to ask, “Can I accompany him? I’m not questioning you, I’m just a little worried. Of course, if it’s not possible, then just pretend I didn’t say anything.”

Dr. Chen subconsciously glanced upstairs, feeling a little embarrassed.

Normal rehabilitation normally allowed family members to accompany, but it was because of a certain CEO’s self-esteem that Lin Sui wasn’t allowed to accompany him, so he couldn’t promise anything.

Lin Sui’s expectant mood fell little by little with the doctor’s silence. He tugged at the corners of his mouth, just about to say that he was just saying it casually and didn’t need to take it to heart, when an unexpected voice interjected.

“You can.” Gu Nian, who had just come down after showering and happened to hear the conversation, directly gave the answer, turning his wheelchair to Lin Sui’s side, a warm color coating his dark eyes, “Come accompany me, okay?”

Lin Sui nodded vigorously in surprise, smiling like a child who had received candy.

Dr. Chen, who was forced to eat dog food, pushed up his glasses and nimbly took his medical kit and left, he wouldn’t get involved in the little couple’s affairs.

The next day, Shi Qingzhou received a message from his friend saying that he would be preparing for graduation at home and wouldn’t be going to the library. Shi Qingzhou, who had come early in the morning to grab a seat, slowly typed out a question mark.

    ?

Although his eloquence was indeed good, it shouldn’t be enough to turn a workaholic into a salted fish with just a few words yesterday!

On Lin Sui’s side, after sending the message, he carried his drawing board into the gym that Gu Nian used for rehabilitation. Fortunately, the space inside was large enough. Lin Sui carried a small stool and sat in front of the French windows, continuing to work on his assignment with his paintbrush.

He deliberately placed the drawing board with its back to Gu Nian, so that he was facing Gu Nian. As soon as he looked up, he could see his lover sweating profusely, and his eyes unconsciously curved up, then he smiled and continued to draw seriously.

Gu Nian couldn’t help but laugh when he discovered this cute little scheme. He took the opportunity to show off to Dr. Chen while Lin Sui was focused on his drawing board.

Dr. Chen didn’t even lift his eyes, indicating that he refused to communicate, and incidentally said, “Although rehabilitation is hard, please take it seriously.”

Just this sentence made Lin Sui, who had been seriously thinking about his assignment, immediately look up, his eyebrows furrowed together, and he comforted Gu Nian in a very gentle voice, even making a special plate of fruit salad, which made Gu Nian feel inexplicably guilty and glared fiercely at Dr. Chen.

Dr. Chen’s reaction to this was to tug at the corners of his mouth without any emotion and point his pen in Lin Sui’s direction, the meaning very obvious.

If he provoked him again, he would continue to tattle.

Gu Nian, who was threatened, bared his teeth, and finally had to put away his thoughts of showing affection.
