    Chapter 6: The Forced Kiss

Zhang Xu was certain that Lin Sui wouldn’t willingly kiss Gu Nian, deliberately trying to embarrass Gu Nian. After all, what man could bear the humiliation of his new wife being unwilling to even give him a kiss?

He had already planned what kind of mocking he would use later.

Gu Nian frowned, his gaze towards Zhang Xu turning slightly cold. Just as he was about to speak and end this farce, he suddenly felt his collar tighten, as if something had grabbed it.

Then a body suddenly pressed down—

    Gu Nian’s pupils shrank sharply.

Lin Sui’s reason was completely overwhelmed by anger at this moment. Hearing what the other party said, he impulsively grabbed Gu Nian’s clothes without thinking and bent down, pressing his lips to Gu Nian’s. When he pulled away, he deliberately made a loud “Bo” sound.

He looked coldly at the rabble below, not yet realizing the earth-shattering thing he had just done.

The entire auditorium was eerily silent.

The composed expression on Gu Nian’s face instantly shattered. He stared in astonishment at the young man who had already straightened up, his fingers touching his lips, almost doubting if he was dreaming.

But the lingering warmth on his lips constantly reminded him that he wasn’t.

Had he just been forcibly kissed?

Gu Nian had lived for twenty-nine years and had never been as shocked as he was today.

He was so shocked that his mouth was slightly agape, revealing a hint of foolishness.

But no one noticed him at this moment, because everyone else was even more surprised than Gu Nian himself, or rather, they were completely dumbfounded.

Lin Sui, like a triumphant rooster, looked down at Zhang Xu, slightly raising his chin and proudly said, “Can you get lost now?”

Zhang Xu was dumbfounded, pointing a trembling finger at Lin Sui for a long time, finally managing to choke out, “You’ve got guts,” before turning around and kicking over the electronic screen behind him, storming towards the door in a fit of anger.

Lin Sui “hmph”-ed particularly loudly, giving him the middle finger at his back with a fierce expression.

With Zhang Xu leaving like this, the lackeys who came with him looked at each other and had no choice but to slink away as well. The other playboys who hadn’t gotten to see the show grumbled a few disappointed words and also left.

Before long, the entire auditorium was left with only one or two people and a mess on the floor.

Even the priest had slipped away at some point.

The auditorium suddenly became empty, and the excessively quiet environment caused the heat that had rushed to Lin Sui’s head to slowly recede. Looking at the chaotic auditorium, he belatedly realized that he had been too impulsive and seemed to have messed everything up.

After all, no one would want their wedding to become such a mess, with all the guests having left, even though their presence wasn’t a good thing to begin with.

Crap, was he going to be assassinated?

The little soft hairs on Lin Sui’s head drooped down, and he turned around dejectedly. He squatted down, lowering his head and not daring to look at Gu Nian’s expression, and said guiltily in a small voice, “I’m sorry.”

Gu Nian touched his lips, returning to his senses. Hearing this, he raised an eyebrow, finding it somewhat amusing.

Just now, he was like a fierce little leopard biting people, but now he had turned into a domesticated cat. He didn’t know which Lin Sui was the real one, or if it was all an act.

But no matter which one it was, neither resembled the “Lin Sui” in the files. Gu Nian thoughtfully sized up the young man squatting at his feet, whose tail seemed to have drooped down as well, lowering his eyes to conceal the fleeting smile in them.

Oh well, he was just a shield anyway. What kind of person Lin Sui was had nothing to do with him, as long as he didn’t get in the way.

Lin Sui waited for a long time without hearing a sound, his heart pounding like a drum. He plucked up his courage and secretly peeked up, and seeing that Gu Nian didn’t seem angry, he breathed a small sigh of relief and stammered an explanation, “I, I really didn’t do it on purpose. I was just too angry, and it just came out without thinking…”

Gu Nian said calmly, “It’s okay.”

He thought this topic would end like this, but Lin Sui obviously didn’t think this “It’s okay” was really okay.

Lin Sui squatted, rambling, “And before the wedding started, I didn’t intentionally close the door without looking at you. I just didn’t expect to see you, and I closed the door before I could react.”

He raised his head, looking earnestly into Gu Nian’s eyes, and said sincerely, “I’m really, really sorry. I definitely won’t do it again.”

Gu Nian didn’t speak, lowering his eyes to look at the young man who was shorter than him when he squatted down. The young man had a pair of warm amber eyes that looked particularly gentle and affectionate in the sunlight.

The way he tilted his head up was like a domesticated cat asking its owner to pet it, his watery eyes fluttering, making it impossible to doubt his sincerity.

    A little cute.

    Gu Nian thought casually.

It shouldn’t matter if he petted him, right?

Lin Sui was waiting anxiously for the outcome when he suddenly felt something land on his head. He raised his hand subconsciously in a daze and touched it, feeling something cool.

    —It was Gu Nian’s hand.

Lin Sui’s eyes widened slightly, even more confused.

Why was Gu Nian touching his head?
