AMTBYIGA Chapter 5
by VolareChapter 5: The Milk Cat Shows Its Claws
Lin Sui’s legs felt weak. He gritted his teeth to steady himself, his brain racing to find a way out of the situation.
Gu Nian calmly watched Zhang Xu, whose chin was practically pointing at the sky. He glanced at Lin Sui and said in a very detached tone, “Since you know it’s not the right time, shut up. Do I need to teach you manners?”
The man’s voice was low and even, yet it revealed an undeniable authority.
Lin Sui looked at him in surprise. Was he deliberately siding with him?
He had thought Gu Nian wouldn’t care about such things at all.
Zhang Xu shuddered instinctively at the tone. The next second, he glared fiercely and said through gritted teeth with a forced smile, “Since that’s how it is, Nian-ge, don’t blame me for not giving you face.”
With that, several otherchildren of privilege pushed forward a pre-prepared mobile screen. Zhang Xu connected the equipment, and a screen full of ambiguous chat logs suddenly appeared before everyone, with Lin Sui’s name prominently displayed on them.
The previously bored young masters immediately perked up. Not wanting to miss a good show, they crowded forward, carefully scrutinizing every detail. They shook their heads and clicked their tongues, saying, “Who would have thought he looked so pure, but is so wild underneath. Just listen to what he’s saying, it’s sickeningly sweet.” He deliberately wrapped his arms around himself and shivered twice.
After speaking, he gave a flirtatious whistle, smiling cheekily at Gu Nian. He jokingly said, “I wonder if Nian-ge would mind letting me play with him for a couple of days. I’ll definitely return him in perfect condition, but if he doesn’t want to go back, there’s nothing I can do.”
A group of people immediately burst into laughter, their gazes toward the stage full of mockery.
To them, this wedding was like a free circus performance, and Gu Nian was the monkey being teased. They were enthusiastic about anything that could embarrass Gu Nian, wishing they could turn him into a true comical clown.
Gu Nian, from beginning to end, seemed to have no emotional fluctuations, coldly watching this deliberate humiliation.
Lin Sui, however, was trembling with anger. The fingers holding the wheelchair tightened abruptly, turning white.
He admitted that he had done something wrong, but what right did these people have to laugh at Gu Nian?
He had done nothing wrong!
Just because he was physically disabled? So his wife’s betrayal also became his fault?
This was absurd!
At that moment, Lin Sui seemed to see his past self in Gu Nian, and the pain of his previous life was suddenly triggered and exploded. Lin Sui suddenly picked up the wine glass that was to be used for their wedding toast later and slammed it on Zhang Xu.
With a “bang,” the entire venue fell silent.
Zhang Xu stared dumbfounded at Lin Sui. His clothes were soaked in wine, and shards of glass cut across his face, leaving a bloody line.
He subconsciously touched his face. Only when he saw the blood on his hand did he remember to scream, and the entire scene immediately became chaotic again.
Zhang Xu looked at Lin Sui with red eyes, saying fiercely, “Okay, you have guts. You wait, I’ll sue you to death, you just wait!”
Lin Sui looked at him coldly and impatiently said, “Stop howling. This little injury will heal on its own if you wait any longer. Even if we’re going to sue, I’ll sue you for slander first!”
The young man’s voice was clear and resonant, each word hitting the mark. A sharp edge that didn’t match his temperament appeared on his beautiful, pure face. His eyes were lowered, looking down at the embarrassed Zhang Xu below.
Gu Nian silently took another look at him, playfully raising the corner of his lips, quietly acting as his mascot.
Zhang Xu was stunned for a second by the forcefulness of Lin Sui, then he laughed in anger, “Okay, okay, okay, you tell me, what did I slander you for?”
“You said I seduced you, but what can these easily fabricated chat logs prove? If you have the ability, bring out more convincing evidence.” Lin Sui straightened his back, not feeling guilty in the slightest.
He had repeatedly confirmed just now that the original owner was still quite clever. Apart from the chat logs, he hadn’t left behind any other incriminating evidence.
Zhang Xu was choked for a moment, then an idea occurred to him. He said with certainty, “Do I need evidence? Who doesn’t know that you were sold by your family to Nian-ge as a live-in helper? If you really love him, then kiss him right here.”
