Chapter 6 Ink characters hide feelings

The sunshine at half past seven in the morning is like crushed gold foil, lazily shining on the tree-lined avenues of Qingda University.

The dew still condenses on the edges of the green leaves, reflecting tiny bits of light, and the air is filled with the fresh smell of grass and earth.

Lu Jin had finished his five-kilometer morning run. His silver hair was wet with sweat and stuck to his plump forehead, swaying slightly as he raised his hand to wipe away the sweat.

There was a faint wet mark on the back of the sportswear, outlining the boy’s straight and smooth waistline. The wind brought up by running picked up the corners of the clothes and stirred up the overflowing youthful hormones.

He didn’t have the habit of sleeping in. Even though there were only a few classes in his senior year and the classmates around him were struggling with their internship resumes, he still maintained a regular schedule.

After all, the Lu Group is one of the top five business empires on the wealth list. As the sole heir, he does not have to worry about making a living, but he has never relaxed his demands on himself.

    “Ding.”

The crisp message tone broke the tranquility after the morning run.

Lu Jin slowed down and took out his phone. When his fingertips ran across the screen, they were still covered in a thin layer of sweat from exercise.

The screen lit up with a minimalist message.

Xie Shuhan: Classroom 4032, Duzhi Building.

Lu Jin tapped his slender fingers on the screen, making a crisp sound of pressing keys, and replied with only one word:

    Jhin: Okay.

There were no unnecessary questions, as if he was just responding to an ordinary thing.

Lu Jin did not go back to the dormitory to change clothes, but walked directly towards Duzhi Building.

The silver-gray sportswear is particularly bright in the sun, making his fair skin and handsome eyebrows stand out.

Along the way, many girls who got up early secretly looked at him, whispering in low voices, with undisguised admiration in their eyes.

But he had long been accustomed to it, and walked forward without looking away, exuding a distant and dazzling aura.

Classroom 4032 of Duzhi Building is on the west side of the third floor. When Lu Jin walked to the door, there were already many people sitting inside, most of them students holding books and studying hard.

He glanced around and quickly locked onto Xie Shuhan, who was sitting in the back row against the wall.

The boy was wearing a clean white shirt, with the cuffs rolled up to his forearms, revealing his clear wrists.

The sunlight filtered through the window and fell on the top of his black hair, casting a soft halo.

He was looking down at something. His profile was clean and neat, his nose was high and his jawline was clear. The small black mole at the end of his eye was looming under the light, adding a bit of inexplicable charm.

It is obviously a posture of sitting quietly, but it has a kind of cold nobility, which is incompatible with the noisy environment around it.

Lu Jin walked over lightly and sat down in the empty seat next to him, making a slight noise.

Xie Shuhan raised his eyes when he heard the sound, and his cold eyes fell on him.

“What’s wrong?” Lu Jin spoke first, his voice slightly hoarse after exercise, but still full of magnetism.

He noticed that Xie Shuhan had a thick book of legal regulations spread out in front of him and a pen in his hand, obviously preparing for class.

Without any unnecessary nonsense, Xie Shuhan directly pushed a notebook in front of Lu Jin and handed over the black pen. The tip of the pen shone coldly in the morning light.

“Law class, take notes.” His voice was clear and cold, like spring water in a mountain stream, without a trace of ripples. Like his person, he had a sense of alienation that kept strangers away from him.

Lu Jin was stunned for a moment, looked down at the notebook in front of him, and then raised his head to meet Xie Shuhan’s gaze.

Those eyes were dark and deep, like a cold pool with no bottom. It was okay not to look at it, but once he looked at it, it instantly reminded him of the absurd yet clear dream he had last night.

In the dream, Xie Shuhan looked at him like this, but his eyes were much warmer than in reality, even with a trace of imperceptible dependence and lust.

His heart skipped a beat inexplicably. Lu Jin turned his head unnaturally and took the pen. His fingertips touched the cold pen holder before he calmed down a little.

“Okay, do you want to write it all down?” He looked towards the podium. The teacher had already started to show the PPT, which was densely packed with knowledge points from the legal profession.

“Just write down the ones marked in red.” Xie Shuhan’s voice came again, with the same cold tone, and no emotion could be heard.

After he finished speaking, he lowered his head again and flipped through the book of laws with his left hand. His right hand gently rested on the edge of the table, and his fingertips unconsciously rubbed the edges of the pages.

Lu Jin nodded, his silver hair shaking gently with his movements, like snow falling on the branches.

He actually doesn’t like writing. Ever since he was a child, whether it was taking notes or doing homework, he had to have someone do it for him.

But this does not prevent him from writing well. Like his character, his writing is sharp and unruly, yet neat and powerful.

The tip of the pen fell on the paper, making a “rustling” writing sound, which was particularly clear in the quiet classroom.

Xie Shuhan listened to the voices around him and his eyes fell on Lu Jin’s hand holding the pen.

His fingers are slender and strong, with well-defined joints, and the way he holds the pen has a flamboyant beauty.

A faint smile appeared at the corner of Xie Shuhan’s lips, almost imperceptibly, as fast as an illusion and fleeting.

The scene of the two sitting together quickly attracted the attention of the surrounding students.

Many people secretly looked at them from the corner of their eyes, their eyes full of surprise and confusion, and some were even communicating underneath.

“Oh my god, how come Lu Jin is sitting with Xie Shuhan?”

“Am I reading that right? Aren’t they two incompatible with each other?”

“Lu Jin is actually helping Xie Shuhan take notes? What kind of magical development is this?”

“Isn’t Xie Shuhan a top student? Does he still need someone to help him take notes? And since when did Lu Jin become so easy to talk to?”

The whispers were not loud, but they were enough to reach Lu Jin’s ears.

He didn’t care, and still concentrated on writing notes, writing smoothly, writing down the key points marked in red on the PPT one by one.

Xie Shuhan didn’t seem to be affected at all. He was still immersed in his own world, reading the book of laws seriously, and occasionally looking up at the PPT, his eyes focused and serious.

The sunlight gradually rose through the window, casting mottled light and shadow on the notebook.

Lu Jin wrote very seriously. Although he knew little about legal knowledge, he still tried his best to memorize every knowledge point completely. Before he knew it, he had written several eloquent pages, with neat handwriting and clear organization. Even he was a little surprised.

After writing the last word, Lu Jin put down his pen, stretched his aching wrist, and turned to look at Xie Shuhan.

The young man was still reading quietly, his long eyelashes hanging down, casting a shallow shadow under his eyelids, trembling gently like butterfly wings.

Viewed from the side, his eyelashes are really long, thick and slender, and the small mole at the end of his eye is perfectly embellished, making his cold face a little softer, beautiful and handsome, making people unable to take their eyes away.

Lu Jin looked at his notebook filled with words and nodded with satisfaction.

It has to be said that even though he was forced to take notes, his results were still impressive.

“Xie Shuhan, I’ve finished writing.” Lu Jin said aloud, his voice was not loud, but just enough for the people around him to hear.

Xie Shuhan raised his head when he heard this, and his eyes moved away from the page and fell on the notebook handed over by Lu Jin.

He flipped through it quickly and saw the neat and sharp handwriting on it.

“Well, thank you.” He took the notebook, his voice still cold, but a little warmer than before.

“You’re welcome.” Lu Jin smiled, showing a set of neat white teeth. His eyebrows were curved, a little less flamboyant than usual, and a little more youthful.

He paused, as if he suddenly remembered something, and asked again: “Xie Shuhan, can I see the notes you took before?”

To be honest, he was not really interested in legal notes, but simply wanted to see if Xie Shuhan’s handwriting was as noble and cold as his.

Xie Shuhan seemed not to have expected that he would make such a request. But he didn’t refuse, just nodded and handed over the notebook.”Okay.”

Lu Jin couldn’t wait to take the notebook and flipped forward from the page he wrote on.

What comes into view are lines of standard regular script. The handwriting is neat and neat, the strokes are round, and they have a unique charm. Just like Xie Shuhan himself, there is warmth in the coldness, which is pleasing to the eye.

He flipped through page after page and found that Xie Shuhan’s notes were taken extremely seriously.

Not only did he clearly list the key knowledge points, but he also attached his own opinions and notes beside them. The logic was clear and well-organized, and the rigor and meticulousness of a top student were revealed everywhere.

Looking at the dense handwriting, Lu Jin seemed to be able to feel Xie Shuhan’s seriousness and concentration when writing these words, and he felt an inexplicable feeling of admiration in his heart.

Unconsciously, he turned to the front page of his notebook.

The page was blank, without any knowledge points, but there was a line written in the center of the page:

If steel is ground into a needle, as long as you are willing to wait, as long as you are willing to love deeply.

Lu Jin’s movements suddenly stopped. He stared at the line of words, and his heart felt like he was hit by something. He felt stuffy and couldn’t tell what it felt like.

He never thought that a cold and aloof person like Xie Shuhan would write such an affectionate sentence.

“Have you finished reading?” Xie Shuhan’s voice came at the right time, bringing Lu Jin back to reality from his thoughts.

Lu Jin raised his head and met Xie Shuhan’s eyes.

He found that when Xie Shuhan saw him staring at that line of words, there was not much emotion on his face, and he still had that cold and calm look, as if it was just an insignificant sentence.

“Well, I’ve finished reading.” Lu Jin composed himself, handed the notebook back to Xie Shuhan, tried his best to put on a smile on his face, and said in a sincere tone: “As expected of a top student, he took notes so well, it’s amazing.”

But the feeling in his heart was very strange, and the dull feeling lingered, making him a little irritable.

He didn’t understand why he had such a reaction because of one sentence.

Xie Shuhan took the notebook and said nothing.

“How’s the injury? Are you feeling better?” Lu Jin asked.

“Much better, scabs are forming.” Xie Shuhan replied.

“That’s good.” Lu Jin breathed a sigh of relief, with a relieved smile on his face.”Then I’ll leave first. If you need anything, please contact me.”

“Okay.” Xie Shuhan looked at him and nodded slightly. His cold eyes fell on his back and stayed for a long time.

Lu Jin turned around and walked out of the classroom, and the silver-gray figure quickly disappeared at the end of the corridor.

Xie Shuhan reopened the front page of the notebook and his eyes fell on that line of words. His eyes became a little complicated, with a trace of imperceptible hesitation and persistence.

He just watched quietly, not knowing what he was thinking, until the bell rang, then he slowly closed the notebook, hiding all his emotions under the cold appearance.
