Chapter 25 Follow back to the dormitory

Xie Shuhan did not look back at the scores that lit up on the judges’ bench, nor did he pay attention to the hesitant gazes of the backstage staff. He walked straight through the crowded corridor and opened the side door of the hall.

The evening breeze blew into my face with the unique coolness of the night, mixed with the moist smell of the vegetation on campus, and instantly dissipated the remaining heat and tension on the stage.

The sky had already darkened completely, and the dark blue night sky was dotted with a few sparse stars. The street lamps cast a warm yellow halo on the ground, making his shadow long and slender.

Xie Shuhan took a deep breath, and fresh air poured into his lungs. The emotions that surged in his chest due to the singing gradually calmed down. His body and mind relaxed a lot, and even the coldness between his eyebrows softened a bit.

Just as he was about to walk towards the dormitory, a familiar yet urgent call came from behind him: “Xie Shuhan!”

Xie Shuhan paused and turned around to look.

Under the dim street light, Lu Jin was running towards him quickly, his silver-gray hair flying freely in the night wind, as if it was dotted with tiny starlight.

The way he ran had the unique liveliness of a young man, the corners of his clothes were lifted by the wind, and the sound of his footsteps was particularly clear in the quiet night.

Lu Jin was already a little taller than Xie Shuhan. With a height of 188cm and a tall figure, he felt a sense of oppression coming towards his face when he ran closer.

But because of those eyes that were as bright as stars, all the sharpness was eliminated.

Xie Shuhan stood there, watching him approach step by step. The light of the street lamp outlined his clear jawline.

Sweat slid down his neck and soaked his collar, but he didn’t look embarrassed at all. Instead, he looked more wild and handsome.

“Why are you out?” Xie Shuhan spoke first, his voice still as cold as usual, but a little more pyrotechnic than on the stage.

Lu Jin ran up to him, panting slightly, his chest heaving, and looking at him with bright eyes: “I’ve finished watching your performance. I don’t want to watch the rest.”

The tone was straightforward and magnanimous, with an unquestionable certainty, as if Xie Shuhan’s singing was the entire meaning of this game.

Hearing this, Xie Shuhan’s eyes flashed with an imperceptible fluctuation. He nodded slightly, turned around and continued walking forward: “I’m going back to the dormitory, what about you?”

Lu Jin immediately followed his footsteps and walked side by side under the street lights. Their shadows sometimes approached and sometimes overlapped on the ground.

He turned his head and looked at Xie Shuhan’s side face. The light from the street lamp cast alternating light and dark shadows on his face, and his long eyelashes formed a faint shadow under his eyelids. He couldn’t help but asked tentatively: “Can I go back with you?”

There was a hint of caution in his tone, like a puppy that was afraid of being rejected, secretly testing the other party’s bottom line.

Xie Shuhan’s heart trembled suddenly, and his steps subconsciously paused for half a second.

He didn’t expect Lu Jin to make such a request.

Seeing that he didn’t speak, Lu Jin felt a little nervous. He quickly made an excuse and said seriously: “That’s it. The water pipes in our dormitory are being repaired today and there is no water for bathing. There is really nothing we can do.”

His eyes were particularly “sincere” and his tone was urgent and a little aggrieved, as if he was really in trouble.

Xie Shuhan turned to look at him and his eyes stayed on his face for a few seconds, as if judging the credibility of this sentence.

Lu Jin felt a little guilty when he saw him, and subconsciously avoided his gaze, but quickly turned back and continued to look at him with those bright eyes, with a hint of pleading.

After a moment of silence, Xie Shuhan softly uttered one word: “Okay.”

This simple word made Lu Jin instantly happy, and his silver-gray hair seemed to become more fluffy and soft.

He cheered in his heart, secretly glad that he reacted quickly and this “silver-haired puppy” successfully reached Xie Shuhan’s dormitory.

The two walked side by side on the quiet campus path. The night wind blew gently, bringing with it the fragrance of vegetation.

Without the hustle and bustle on the stage, and without the eyes of others, the atmosphere became particularly quiet, but not awkward.

Occasionally, students who came home late passed by and cast curious glances, but Lu Jin didn’t care. He only looked sideways at Xie Shuhan beside him, and the corners of his mouth could not help but raise slightly.

Then when he arrived at the dormitory, the moment he opened the door, a faint scent of cedar hit his face, which was exactly the same as the smell on his body.

Xie Shuhan changed his shoes, walked straight to the closet, took out a set of clean clothes, turned around and handed them to Lu Jin: “Never worn.”

Lu Jin looked at the white T-shirt and light gray trousers he handed over. The fabric was soft and had a faint smell of sunshine.

He secretly thought: Actually, I would rather wear what you have worn, so that I can smell your scent.

He was stunned for a few seconds and did not take it immediately. Xie Shuhan raised an eyebrow and looked at him: “No?”

“Yes, yes!” Lu Jin reacted and quickly reached out to take it, his fingertips inadvertently touching Xie Shuhan’s.

The warm touch made both of them pause subconsciously, and Lu Jin quickly held the clothes in his arms.

“Then you go and wash up. The toiletries are on the shelf in the bathroom.” After Xie Shuhan finished speaking, he walked past him to the small sofa and sunk himself into it.

He slightly raised his head and leaned on the back of the sofa, his neck stretched out into graceful lines, and the collar of his white shirt was slightly loosened, revealing his delicate collarbones. There was a hint of laziness in the coldness, but he still couldn’t hide his innate sense of nobility.

Lu Jin stared blankly for a while, then walked into the bathroom holding his clothes and closed the door behind him.

The bathroom is equally clean and tidy, with simple toiletries placed on the shelves and a bottle of cedar-scented shower gel placed in a conspicuous place.

He opened the shower gel, and the familiar fragrance hit his face. It was exactly the same as Xie Shuhan’s. It was fresh, elegant and reassuring.

The warm water flowed down, washing away the fatigue of the body. The cedar-scented foam melted on the skin and filled the entire bathroom.

In the living room, Xie Shuhan was leaning on the sofa, listening to the sound of water rushing from the bathroom, his eyes dark and unclear.

His fingers caressed the armrests of the sofa unconsciously.

After Lu Jin knew that he liked boys, he did not reject him at all. Instead, he found an excuse and followed him back to the dormitory.

Ten minutes later, the sound of water running in the bathroom stopped.

After a few minutes, Lu Jin opened the door and walked out.

He was wearing Xie Shuhan’s clothes. The collar of his white T-shirt was slightly open, revealing his delicate collarbone. His light gray trousers were slightly short, revealing a small part of his ankle, but he looked surprisingly well-behaved.

The silver-gray hair was still wet, and water droplets dripped down the hair, sinking into the collar, leaving a faint water stain.

After the sweat and dust were washed away, his skin looked particularly white, and his facial features were more three-dimensional. His usual unruliness had faded a lot, and he was now a little greener and softer.

Xie Shuhan’s eyes fell on him subconsciously. He only glanced at him and quickly looked away.

The tips of the ears hidden under the hair were slightly red uncontrollably.

My heart seemed to have been lightly hit by something, causing tiny ripples to appear.

Lu Jin walked up to him and asked, “Is there a hairdryer?”

“Yes, it’s in the second drawer of the bathroom.” Xie Shuhan’s voice was still calm, but it was a little more imperceptibly hoarse than before.

Lu Jin responded, turned around and walked into the bathroom again. He looked at himself in Xie Shuhan’s clothes in the mirror and couldn’t help but grinned at the mirror: Well, he’s quite handsome. Why doesn’t Xie Shuhan look at me more?

He took out the hair dryer from the drawer, plugged it in, and blew the warm wind against his wet silver hair.

The silver-gray hair was blown fluffy by the wind, and hung smoothly on both sides of the face, making it look particularly soft.
