    Chapter 13 Sick Care

The morning mist has not completely dissipated, and the campus of Tsingta University is filled with the fresh smell of vegetation.

Lu Jin got up extremely early and uncharacteristically did not go for a morning jog. Instead, he simply washed up and went straight to Duzhi Tower.

His short silver hair swayed slightly in the morning breeze, making his brows and eyes less arrogant and more uncontrollable eager.

He thought about it all night last night. Now that he had made his mind clear, he should take the initiative.

Xie Shuhan is cold and reserved, not good at expressing emotions, so he should be more proactive and approach slowly.

Classroom 4032 of Duzhi Building was the only place where he and Xie Shuhan had ever crossed paths. He thought that maybe he could wait for him there.

However, when he walked to the door of the classroom, there were already many people sitting inside, but that familiar cold figure was not there.

Lu Jin’s heart skipped a beat, and an inexplicable uneasiness surged into his heart.

He grabbed a classmate who was sorting out his books and said with a hint of imperceptible urgency: “Classmate, did Xie Shuhan not come to class today?”

“Yes,” the classmate nodded and said casually, “I heard that he took leave today. He seems to be sick and has been resting in the dormitory.”

    Sick?

Lu Jin’s heart sank for a moment, and his mind immediately flashed to Xie Shuhan’s lonely and determined back in the corridor last night, as well as his red eyes and drunken appearance.

It must have been the wind blowing and drinking a lot of wine last night that made him fall ill.

He didn’t ask any more questions, turned around and ran towards the pharmacy in front of the school.

The silver figure galloped across the campus, attracting the attention of many early-rising classmates.

He walked into the drugstore and relied on his memory and the clerk’s recommendation to buy a bunch of cold medicines, antipyretics, cough medicines, as well as thermometers and antipyretic patches. The bag was full, including almost all the medicines that might be used.

After paying the money, he carried the medicine bag and walked quickly towards Xie Shuhan’s dormitory.

Xie Shuhan’s dormitory was in another dormitory building, not too far from Duzhi Building, so Lu Jin walked over quickly.

Arriving downstairs in the dormitory building, the dormitory aunt was sitting in the duty room sorting out the registration book.

Lu Jin stepped forward and tried to keep his tone calm: “Hello, aunt, I am Xie Shuhan’s classmate. He is sick and resting in the dormitory. I’m here to give him some medicine. Could you please give me a key and open the door?”

The dormitory aunt raised her head and looked him up and down. Seeing that he was handsome and his tone was very polite, she nodded: “Register your name and student number, as well as your dormitory number.”

Lu Jin quickly picked up the pen and quickly registered his information.

After the dormitory aunt checked it was correct, she took out the spare key to Xie Shuhan’s dormitory from the drawer and handed it to him: “Go up, be gentle, and don’t disturb other students’ rest.”

“Thank you, Auntie.” Lu Jin took the key, thanked him, and hurried towards the stairs.

He didn’t want to wait for the elevator.

Lu Jin carried the medicine bag and walked up to the fifth floor step by step. The sound of footsteps was particularly clear in the silent corridor.

Arriving at the door of Xie Shuhan’s dormitory, he took out the key, inserted it gently into the keyhole, turned the key, and the door opened with a “click”.

The curtains were drawn in the dormitory, the light was dim, and the air was filled with a faint smell of disinfectant and medicine.

The living room is neatly tidied, and there are several open books on the desk.

A door is closed, it should be the bedroom.Lu Jin walked over lightly and gently opened the door.

The light in the bedroom was even darker, with only a faint ray of light coming through the cracks in the curtains.

Xie Shuhan was lying on the bed, covered with a thick quilt, his face facing the door. His face was so pale that it was almost transparent, and his brows were slightly wrinkled, as if he was sleeping uneasily.

“Xie Shuhan.” Lu Jin called softly, his voice very low, for fear of disturbing him.

However, the person on the bed didn’t respond, except that his breathing was a little rapid and his chest was rising and falling slightly.

Lu Jin walked to the bed, sat down carefully, stretched out his hand, and gently touched Xie Shuhan’s forehead.

The scalding temperature came instantly, burning his fingertips and tightening his heart.

“So hot…” Lu Jin frowned, feeling even more worried.

He quickly took out the antipyretic medicine from the medicine bag and went outside to pour a glass of warm water.

He was afraid that Xie Shuhan would be too deep in sleep to swallow, so he carefully lifted him up and let him lean in his arms.

Xie Shuhan’s body was very light and hot, leaning against his arms like a burning flame.

Lu Jin held his back with one hand and held the pills in the other hand, passing them to his mouth: “Xie Shuhan, wake up and take the medicine first.”

Xie Shuhan seemed to be awakened by his voice and slowly opened his eyes.

His eyes were a little confused, with a heavy sleepiness in them. When he saw that the person in front of him was Lu Jin, a trace of surprise flashed in his eyes, and then they were covered with a heavy sleepiness.

He opened his mouth, and his voice was so hoarse that it was almost inaudible: “Why… why are you here?”

“You’re sick, I’m here to give you medicine.” Lu Jin’s voice was so gentle that it was completely different from his usual publicity. “Take the medicine first, and then go to bed after eating.”

Xie Shuhan did not resist and opened his mouth obediently. Lu Jin put the pills into his mouth, then handed him the water glass and carefully fed him a few sips.

The warm water slid down the throat, relieving some of the dry pain.

After taking the medicine, Lu Jin gently put him back on the bed, covered him with a quilt, and tucked the corners of the quilt to ensure that he wouldn’t catch a cold.

Then, he got up and went to the bathroom, filled a basin of warm water, and took out a clean towel.

He soaked the towel, wring out the excess water, and then gently placed it on Xie Shuhan’s forehead.

The cold touch made Xie Shuhan hum in comfort, and his brows relaxed a little.

Lu Jin sat beside the bed and watched over him.

Every few minutes, the towels are rewetted, replaced, and the cycle repeats.

His movements were gentle and patient, and his eyes focused on Xie Shuhan’s face, with a trace of tenderness that he had never noticed.

The sun gradually rose, passing through the gaps in the curtains, casting mottled light and shadow on the floor.

The bedroom was very quiet, with only the sound of Xie Shuhan’s even breathing and the slight sound of Lu Jin occasionally getting up to change the water.

Lu Jin just sat quietly by the bed, looking at Xie Shuhan’s sleeping face.

Even though his face was pale and bloodless, Xie Shuhan’s facial features were still delicate and beautiful.

The long eyelashes hang down, casting a shallow shadow under the eyelids, fluttering gently like butterfly wings.

The bridge of the nose is high and the lips look a little chapped due to the fever, but they still have a cool beauty.

He didn’t know how Xie Shuhan felt about him, or where this relationship would eventually go.

But at this moment, he just wanted to stay by Xie Shuhan’s side and take care of him until he recovered from his fever.

After an unknown amount of time, Lu Jin reached out his hand again and gently touched Xie Shuhan’s forehead.

The scalding temperature has dropped a lot. Although it is still a little warm, it is no longer hot to the touch.

Lu Jin breathed a sigh of relief, his anxious heart finally relieved.

He took the towel off Xie Shuhan’s forehead, folded it and put it aside, then stood up and took the basin back to the bathroom to empty it, and wiped the table clean with paper towels.

After doing all this, he sat back on the bed again, not disturbing Xie Shuhan’s rest, but just looking at him quietly.

The sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft halo on his face, making the tenderness in his eyes particularly clear.

Maybe that’s what it means to like someone.

I am willing to put down all pride and publicity for him, I am willing to do all the things for him that I did not bother to do before, I am willing to appear by his side as soon as possible when he needs me, and I will protect him silently.

Lu Jin looked at Xie Shuhan’s sleeping face peacefully, and a faint smile unconsciously appeared at the corner of his mouth.
