Chapter 10 You are really annoying

The light in the corridor was as soft as a layer of gauze, making the two figures appear affectionate and distant.

The moment Xie Shuhan’s eyes collided with Lu Jin’s, they quickly moved away as if they were burned.

He lowered his eyes, and his long eyelashes cast a shallow shadow under his eyelids, covering the complex emotions surging under his eyes.

Without stopping or greeting, he walked sideways towards the end of the corridor, his pace still calm.

    “Thank you Shuhan.”

Lu Jin’s voice sounded behind him, with a hint of unnoticeable hoarseness.

He stepped forward almost subconsciously, and clasped Xie Shuhan’s wrist with his right hand accurately.

The skin touched by the fingertips was surprisingly delicate, yet unusually hot, as if the temperature had been ignited by alcohol.

Lu Jin’s heart skipped a beat, and the warm touch from his fingertips spread along his nerves, making him inexplicably panic.

“Are you hiding from me?” he asked, with a hint of grievance and confusion in his tone that he was not even aware of.

We were able to get along calmly in the classroom a few days ago, but there was no contact in just a few days. Why did Xie Shuhan turn a blind eye to him, as if he had become a stranger with whom he had no interaction?

Xie Shuhan’s body stiffened for a moment, and his wrist was clenched so tightly that he couldn’t break free.

The alcohol spread wantonly in his blood, making his brain a little dizzy, and the ends of his eyes turned a faint red, as if they were stained with a thin layer of drunken rouge.

He tilted his head to avoid Lu Jin’s gaze, and his voice was as cold as ice: “No, you are overthinking. Let go.”

He didn’t dare to look into Lu Jin’s eyes, fearing that those clear and inquiring eyes would reveal the deepest secrets in his heart.

Lu Jin appeared at the Charming Hotel, and Yun Chuchu was probably with him. This realization was like a thin needle, pricking his heart so densely that it hurt so much that he could hardly breathe.

Lu Jin did not let go, but moved closer. The strong smell of alcohol mixed with the faint aroma of cedar on Xie Shuhan’s body hit his face, making him more sure of his guess: “Have you been drinking?”

His eyes fell on Xie Shuhan’s flushed cheeks, and the usually cold outline was softened by the alcohol.

The small mole at the end of the eye is looming under the light, adding a bit of fragile beauty.

“It has nothing to do with you.” Xie Shuhan’s voice was still cold, with a hint of deliberate alienation, “My injury has healed, I don’t need to trouble you anymore.”

The implication is obvious, I no longer need your help, and there is no need for anything to get involved between us.

Lu Jin’s grip on his wrist tightened unconsciously.

Looking at Xie Shuhan’s repulsive appearance, he suddenly understood why everyone called him the flower of the high mountains. They only dared to watch from a distance and did not dare to approach easily.

He is like a cold plum on the top of a snow-capped mountain, beautiful but with a biting chill that makes people stay away.

But the more this happened, the stronger the obsession in Lu Jin’s heart became.

He didn’t understand why he suddenly became so cold despite being able to talk well a few days ago and even letting him help take notes.

“Are you angry with me?” His voice was even lower. “What did I do wrong? Tell me.”

He himself didn’t realize the compromise contained in these words.

When had the aloof heir of the Lu Group ever treated anyone so lowly?

But facing Xie Shuhan’s indifference, he felt inexplicably flustered. He just wanted to know the reason and wanted him to change back to his previous self.

The hand holding Xie Shuhan’s wrist tightened a little more, as if he was afraid that if he let go, this person would completely disappear from his world.

“Well…” Xie Shuhan frowned tightly, and the pain from his wrist made his chaotic brain clear up a little.

The dizziness caused by alcohol was still there, coupled with the sourness and pain in his heart, he could no longer maintain his emotional calm.

    “Let go, it hurts.”

There was an imperceptible tremor in his voice, as if he was suppressing something.

When Lu Jin heard this, he immediately let go of his hand as if he had been burned, but his fingertips still did not completely leave his wrist.

He just maintained a gentle touching posture, for fear that if he let go, Xie Shuhan would immediately turn around and leave.

    “You’re really annoying.”

Xie Shuhan suddenly raised his head and looked straight at Lu Jin.

The redness at the end of the eyes became thicker, as if they were stained with tears, and complex emotions were surging in the eyes.

There was sadness, grievance, unwillingness, and a trace of nostalgia that even he himself had not noticed.

The gaze was too hot and too direct. Lu Jin was stunned for a moment, and his heart felt like it had been hit hard by something, causing intense pain.

This was the first time he saw Xie Shuhan showing such strong emotions.

He was no longer the cold and calm person he usually was, but like a wronged child, expressing his dissatisfaction straightforwardly.

Lu Jin’s heart sank, and the hand holding his wrist unconsciously let go completely.

He looked down and saw a faint red mark on Xie Shuhan’s wrist, as if he had pinched it, which was particularly dazzling.

“I’m sorry.” Lu Jin’s voice was filled with panic, “I didn’t mean it, I just…”

He paused, not knowing how to explain his behavior, “But I don’t know what I did to make you so angry, can you tell me?”

This was the first time he felt so helpless towards someone.

No matter what he encountered before, as long as he wanted to, there was nothing he couldn’t do.

But facing Xie Shuhan, he was like a punch on cotton, unable to use his strength. He could only watch him being indifferent to him, but he didn’t know what the problem was.

He didn’t even realize that in front of Xie Shuhan, he had unconsciously lowered his posture and lost his usual arrogance and pride.

Xie Shuhan opened his mouth, his throat seemed to be blocked by something, what he wanted to say rolled around on the tip of his tongue, and he finally swallowed it.

    What could he say?

Can you tell Lu Jin that he is angry not because of what Lu Jin did, but because Lu Jin did nothing but easily occupied his entire youth?

Can you tell Lu Jin how much his heart ached when he saw the news that he and Yun Chuchu were together?

    cannot.

He could only hide these words in his heart and bear them alone.

The dizziness caused by alcohol became stronger and stronger. Xie Shuhan took a deep breath, suppressed the wetness in his eyes, and avoided Lu Jin’s gaze again.

“It’s nothing.” His voice was as light as a gust of wind, “You did nothing wrong.”

After saying that, he stopped staying, turned around and walked quickly towards the end of the corridor.

The hem of his white shirt swayed slightly under the light, and his back was determined and lonely, as if he was saying his final farewell to something.

Lu Jin stood there, watching his figure disappear around the corner of the corridor. The warm touch of Xie Shuhan’s wrist and the tingling sensation from the faint red mark were still left on his fingertips.

He didn’t understand why Xie Shuhan was acting like this suddenly, nor why he cared so much.

The pain in my heart became stronger and stronger, as if something was blocking me and I couldn’t breathe.

In the safe passage at the end of the corridor, Xie Shuhan leaned against the cold wall and slowly slid down.

The alcohol completely took over his consciousness, and the tears finally couldn’t help but fall down, hitting the cold floor, leaving a small wet mark.

Lu Jin, you really didn’t do anything.

It’s just that I can’t control my feelings. I do it even though I know I can’t do it. I know there’s someone else around you, but I still can’t stop liking you.

It’s just that this secret love hurts too much.

The pain was so painful that he could hardly hold on anymore, so he could only choose to arm himself with indifference and force himself to stay away.

It was dark in the safe passage, with only the occasional ray of light coming through the crack in the door, illuminating his tear-stained face.

Suppressed sobs sounded in the empty passage, carrying endless grievances, but no one knew it.

But Lu Jin was still standing in the corridor, the remaining warmth on his fingertips gradually dissipated, leaving only a cold feeling.
