    I Am Very Generous

In any case, Qiu Zhijie’s assignment was finished, and the deadline was fast approaching. Kong Xunwen hadn’t planned on staying much longer, so he simply suggested returning to the studio.

Qiu Zhijie was the one who seemed less willing, frowning when Kong Xunwen mentioned it: “Don’t change your decision because of me.”

Kong Xunwen was even more displeased now: “What do you mean? Do you think I’m that kind of selfish person?”

Fortunately, Qiu Zhijie quickly backed down, which averted the conflict.

But Kong Xunwen still rolled his eyes whenever he thought about it afterward.

Besides that, the most important thing was that Kong Xunwen had informed Little Boss and the other children who often came to play with him about the departure.

The children’s eyes immediately welled up with tears.

This day was the scheduled farewell party. The children brought snacks from home and some wild fruits they had picked, while Kong Xunwen and Qiu Zhijie prepared snacks, fruits, treats, and games.

Pangpang, whose eyes were red when he first arrived, immediately fixed his gaze on the food as soon as he opened his mouth, only to be pulled back firmly by Little Boss.

Kong Xunwen smiled at the sight: “Come on, start eating.”

The children all ran over and sat down, one by one placing the treats they had brought.

Qiu Zhijie also came out carrying a fruit platter.

The gathering didn’t last too long, ending around four o’clock, just like previous times. The children, who had been happy moments before, reverted to their teary-eyed state from when they first arrived.

Thankfully, none of them actually cried.

Kong Xunwen watched from the side. Qiu Zhijie was cleaning up the trash and didn’t say anything for a moment. He thought for a bit and offered comfort: “Aren’t you all going back to school soon?”

The children looked at him blankly.

    They felt even sadder!

Only after finally sending off the somewhat recovered children did the farewell party truly end.

Kong Xunwen turned around and saw Qiu Zhijie standing behind him. He closed his eyes, stepped forward, and buried his head in Qiu Zhijie’s arms. Qiu Zhijie smiled and embraced him: “Tired?”

“…No.” Kong Xunwen shook his head. He did feel a bit reluctant to leave, but he didn’t want to say that to Qiu Zhijie.

Qiu Zhijie didn’t press further: “Alright, let’s go back. It’ll be dinner time soon. What do you want to eat?”

“Seriously? We just ate a little while ago.”

“Three meals and snacks like these should be viewed separately, of course.”

In any case, during the next live stream, fans keenly noticed that Kong Xunwen’s streaming background had changed again, returning to one they had seen before.

Qiu Zhijie had to go to work today, and Kong Xunwen was forced to go along. Fortunately, his routine had been unusually normal lately, so it wasn’t too difficult.

The background topic quickly passed, as Kong Xunwen changing his background was common. A new wave of excitement soon surged.

    Happy Birthday, Wenwen!

    Happy Birthday, Wenwen!!!

Did Wenwen not see the wishes we sent early this morning?

The rows of “Happy Birthday” made Kong Xunwen almost forget what those characters looked like, but he said: “Today isn’t my birthday.”

He checked the calendar to confirm, and then realized why. Seeing the confusion and slight embarrassment in the comments, he quickly added: “However, saying it’s my birthday isn’t wrong.”

“It’s just that I usually celebrate the lunar calendar date, and I didn’t pay attention when filling out my information back then.”

Ah, that’s okay. Today counts as a birthday too. We can celebrate another one later.

    Hahahaha, so Happy Birthday anyway.

    Happy Birthday.

    Happy Birthday.

Kong Xunwen could only nod: “Thank you, thank you. I wish myself a happy birthday, and I wish everyone happiness every day.”

This small interlude passed, but it did remind Kong Xunwen that his birthday was coming up soon, in about half a month.

He also knew that Qiu Zhijie’s birthday was just one day before his. Every year on Qiu Zhijie’s birthday, the studio would specifically take a day off, making it a highly anticipated day for everyone.

Another reason Kong Xunwen remembered this clearly was that the day after Qiu Zhijie’s birthday would be his own, allowing him to get two days off in a row.

On the other side, Qiu Zhijie was so busy that he couldn’t even focus on watching Kong Xunwen’s live stream, let alone join him.

Therefore, although his work efficiency doubled, his mood remained low.

Perhaps this situation sparked inspiration, as the speed of this ready-to-wear collection was also fast. As long as there was no need for rework or major changes, it saved a lot of time.

Despite being busy, he still remembered to bring Kong Xunwen to work with him every day, even though…

They didn’t get many chances to see each other.

Every evening on the way home, Kong Xunwen, held in his arms and listening to him complain, always found it amusing. Not only did he laugh, but he also said: “If that’s the case, why don’t I just wait for you at home?”

Qiu Zhijie immediately replied: “Absolutely not.”

He looked up at Kong Xunwen very seriously and declared: “You cannot do that.”

Kong Xunwen quickly agreed, only to be asked to swear an oath.

He was speechless: “You drag me out of bed every day without asking for my consent. Do my opinions even matter?”

“How could they not matter?” Qiu Zhijie felt unjustly accused and a little wronged: “Well, if you really don’t want to, I won’t force you.”

“Then I don’t want to wake up early,” Kong Xunwen teased him deliberately.

Qiu Zhijie pursed his lips in thought: “Alright, although moving is a bit troublesome, it’s not impossible.”

“Huh?” Now it was Kong Xunwen’s turn to be confused: “Why are we talking about moving?”

Qiu Zhijie said matter-of-factly: “Moving closer to the studio.”

He even started seriously discussing the feasibility of the idea, not looking like he was joking.

Kong Xunwen quickly called a halt: “No need, no need. Actually, I don’t hate waking up early. It’s great for us to go together. Yes, it’s great.”

Qiu Zhijie’s dark eyes looked over, seriously confirming: “Don’t force yourself.”

Kong Xunwen gritted his teeth, pinching Qiu Zhijie’s cheek: “I said together, together!”

Only then did the man truly smile, leaning in affectionately for a kiss: “I know you’re exceptionally good.”

The incident passed, but it left a mark on Kong Xunwen’s mind. He probably knew why. Similar things had happened before, but he hadn’t thought much of it at the time.

    Now…

Qiu Zhijie was indeed a little too clingy, or rather, not clingy, but anxious.

Anxiety, fear—perhaps knowing that the day of separation would come, he couldn’t relax for a single day and could only try his best to leave more and more traces behind.

He understood, but the matter was unsolvable. Kong Xunwen lowered his gaze to his sketchbook, letting out a soft sigh.

“What’s wrong?” Qiu Zhijie immediately sensed something from across the room, looking up with concern.

Kong Xunwen looked up and shook his head: “I just feel like it’s not right that you’re so busy while I’m so idle.”

Hearing this, Qiu Zhijie smiled, his curved eyes visible behind his large black-rimmed glasses. The glasses he wore today didn’t look dull; instead, they gave him the refined air of an intellectual.

However, the indispensable accessories made him impossible to ignore, resulting in a trendy, well-dressed intellectual.

Kong Xunwen chuckled at his own thoughts.

Qiu Zhijie, whose nerves had been tightly wound from fatigue, relaxed slightly and continued: “What’s wrong with that? I like seeing you relaxed when I’m busy.”

Smiling and nodding his head, Kong Xunwen suppressed the strange sense of satisfaction that rose in his heart upon hearing that. He lowered his eyes to the drawing paper, where he had sketched the intellectual who had just been frowning intently. He opened the book, intending to turn the page.

He wanted to draw the person who was now smiling, to capture the impression in his mind.

Qiu Zhijie, however, had gotten up at some point and walked over, immediately spotting the vague figure on the page.

    It was a man.

Having just taken off his glasses, his eyesight wasn’t great. Qiu Zhijie’s expression tightened, his body casting a shadow over the figure: “Practicing again?”

The subject himself was present. Kong Xunwen subconsciously flipped the page, but accidentally flipped back to an earlier one…

The complaint that was about to leave Qiu Zhijie’s tongue was swallowed as his vision suddenly cleared, and he saw the familiar face and figure on the sketch that had been hastily flipped open.

A smile unconsciously returned to his lips: “Are you using me for practice?”

He bent down, cupping the young man’s slightly warm cheeks, and placed a kiss—a reward that only he understood: “I am very generous. You don’t need to hide when you draw me.”

Kong Xunwen turned his head away, speechless, a faint blush on his face. But upon seeing something, he immediately pushed the man away: “I know—”

    “…Someone’s here.”

Qiu Zhijie’s expression sobered. He walked toward the doorway, which hadn’t been completely closed for convenience, shielding the young man behind him.

Rong Yu’s smile was a little strange, but she quickly returned to normal, pretending not to have seen the previous scene.

Inwardly, she was curious—so this was how the couple interacted in private. It wasn’t until later, during the meeting, when she saw Qiu Zhijie’s stern, mocking face and heard his sharp, cutting remarks, that she thought: Ah, he really is still himself.

However, she quietly found an opportunity to meet Kong Xunwen and complained that she hadn’t been the first to know about their relationship.

The young man gave an awkward laugh, and she didn’t press the issue.

They were indeed just colleagues. She hadn’t been at the studio at the time, and when she later heard about Kong Xunwen’s resignation, she wasn’t surprised. She figured he couldn’t keep going.

She was actually happy for him, but such a decision must have been difficult, so she didn’t want to bother him.

But slowly, they lost touch. Until she saw him reappear at the studio, followed by a series of changes.

She felt confused during that time, and perhaps a little… sad. She thought their relationship was good, yet she had only learned about this matter along with everyone else.

Since that was the case, she had to say something. Rong Yu had always been direct, and she seized this opportunity.

Facing Rong Yu, Kong Xunwen felt a bit apologetic. His resignation had been sudden, many things hadn’t been handled properly, and with so many messy things happening in between, it was true that he had overlooked her.

“I’m sorry,” Kong Xunwen said sincerely: “But I called and messaged you later, and couldn’t reach you. I thought you were angry.”

Rong Yu blinked, then took a sharp breath: “Oh my god!”

Kong Xunwen blinked back. It seemed things were a little different.

Rong Yu pulled out her phone, scrolled frantically, and finally searched, finding the now-blank chat window with Kong Xunwen. Her finger paused, then she immediately backed out and found the call history.

“Uh…” Rong Yu looked up: “I don’t think I saved your number.”

The two looked at each other.

“Yeah, I accidentally cleared your… when I was cleaning out my chat history,” Rong Yu cleared her throat: “Sorry about that.”

    Kong Xunwen burst out laughing.

The atmosphere between them eased considerably.

“You two… what are you doing here?”

Kong Xunwen looked over and saw Qiu Zhijie pause slightly before striding toward them, quickly standing beside him.

Rong Yu instantly reverted to her professional demeanor, nodding: “CEO Qiu, I ran into him by chance. I’ll get back to work now.”

    Qiu Zhijie nodded slightly.

    Kong Xunwen also nodded.

Amidst this busyness, preparations for the fashion show quickly began. The chosen location was a small island.

Kong Xunwen was groggily pulled onto a plane, going along to check out the situation on the island ahead of time.
