Chapter 38: “Why Are You So Naughty?”…

His body was screaming, his rationality was rapidly collapsing, and the succubus in front of him was deliberately tempting him—

Its tail kept trying to hook around his.

Su Sheng shook his head, pulling his disobedient tail back.

“I don’t need it,” he said coldly, turning to leave.

The guard was still persistent and blocked him: “Are you sure you don’t need it? The onset period is hard to endure. Since your partner isn’t here, we can all help you.”

As he spoke, perhaps seeing that Su Sheng was not fully conscious, he reached out directly, trying to embrace him. Su Sheng fiercely pinched himself, recalling a sliver of rationality, and stepped away, spitting out one word: “Scram.”

“Don’t make me say it a second time.”

The succubus guard’s expression changed, and he tightened his grip on his long saber: “You have quite the tolerance.”

The surrounding succubi were also eager, looking at him like wolves eyeing a piece of fat meat.

Su Sheng’s face darkened. He wanted to act, but there were too many demons here; it wasn’t a good time.

A moment later, Su Sheng stared indifferently at the demon, no longer showing defensiveness. Instead, he revealed a faint smile: “Do you want it? Why don’t you follow me first.”

The succubus’s eyes lit up, and its tail wagged quickly as it followed behind Su Sheng. Su Sheng led him toward the outskirts.

The succubus followed, saying, “Oh, my heavens, are we going to do it outdoors? I like that.”

Su Sheng glanced back faintly, his lips curving slightly: “Good that you like it.”

After walking for a while, the succubus stopped, clearly unable to wait any longer. He said impatiently, “How about right here?”

Su Sheng looked around. They were already far from the City-State, so he nodded: “As you wish.”

Before the succubus could react, Su Sheng swiftly snatched the opponent’s saber and killed him.

Blood splattered everywhere, and a unique succubus scent diffused. Su Sheng’s expression shifted slightly. He wanted to leave, but it was too late.

Under the combined influence of the blood from two different succubi, Su Sheng instantly collapsed nearby, his pupils slightly dilated, breathing softly and uncontrollably.

He tremblingly fumbled at his clothing pocket, but due to his urgency, he couldn’t find the pocket opening.

Although Su Sheng’s expression remained relatively calm, his gradually curling body and involuntary trembling revealed everything.

The sound of a carriage passing by reached him. Su Sheng’s eyelashes fluttered, and he opened his eyes.

He absolutely could not let any other demons discover him in this state.

Biting his lip, Su Sheng braced himself on the ground and shakily stood up, heading toward the nearby waist-high grass.

The grass concealed him, but his slightly heavy breathing could not be hidden, despite his extreme restraint.

Just then, the carriage stopped. Looking through the gaps in the bushes, a man in a black tailcoat stepped out of the carriage.

The carriage seemed to have a problem. The man lingered nearby, inspecting it. The noise was considerable, conveniently masking Su Sheng’s breathing.

Hurry up and leave, Su Sheng thought hazily. Why isn’t he leaving yet?

The carriage stayed for far too long, so long that Su Sheng could no longer restrain himself. He quietly took out the item he had bought from the trading market, looking at it with struggling eyes.

It was an exquisite jade artifact.

    Should I use it?

He lowered his eyes and asked himself.

Despite his intense craving, Su Sheng was still resisting. However, the succubus scent grew stronger with time. How could nearby demons not notice?

Fingering the jade artifact, Su Sheng slowly sighed and began unbuttoning his clothes.

Perhaps his rationality was almost gone, or perhaps he was too focused, but he failed to notice the approaching footsteps.

The next moment, the hand holding the jade artifact was gently grasped, and a polite, gentle male voice sounded in his ear.

“Don’t use that. It’s very harmful to the body.”

Su Sheng was startled, quickly withdrew his hand, and glared vigilantly at the newcomer.

The man looked refined and courteous, his dark eyes watching him gently, yet he drew the item from Su Sheng’s hand with unquestionable authority.

“Come home with me, how about it? It’s very safe there; you don’t need to worry.”

Su Sheng originally intended to refuse, but something seemed to be influencing him. Staring at the extremely gentle, non-aggressive eyes, he involuntarily agreed.

But once he got into the carriage, he immediately regretted it.

    “Stop,” he said.

The man, however, curved his lips slightly and said worriedly, “The places we are passing through are full of demons. If you get off now, don’t you want to consider the consequences?”

Su Sheng fell silent. It was true.

They arrived at the man’s residence, a small cabin, about the same size as the one he shared with Loren on Dragon Island.

The man thoughtfully poured him a cup of water and said, “You must be thirsty during the onset period? Drink a little to soothe your throat.”

Su Sheng leaned against the wall. As if to lower his guard, the man did not hand the cup directly but sent it over using magic.

“Who are you?” Choosing not to refuse, Su Sheng took a sip of water and scrutinized the person.

“As you can see, I am an Elf.”

As the man shook his head, a pair of Elven ears were faintly visible beneath his dark hair.

Su Sheng gave a cold laugh: “With the blood of a fallen Elf, you can easily disguise yourself. Do you think I’ll believe you, Demon King?”

The man did not admit it or transform into the Demon King as Su Sheng wished. Instead, he looked at him with a smile and asked, “Then how can I prove that I am not the Demon King?”

Su Sheng closed his eyes, took another sip of water, and moistened his dry throat: “High-level demon blood can only disguise the form… unless you cut your arm. If it’s Elven blood, I can recognize it.”

The man agreed readily. When Su Sheng saw that the flowing blood indeed carried an Elven aura, he finally relaxed.

    It wasn’t the Demon King.

As his mind eased, the long-suppressed sense of emptiness erupted like a volcano. He was half-supported and half-embraced by the man and placed onto the bed.

“You… leave,” he said intermittently, lying on the bed.

The man obeyed, walked out, and closed the door.

Su Sheng lay on the bed, enduring wave after wave of heat. His eyes were wide and hazy, and his restless hands tightly clutched his shirt buttons.

In a place Su Sheng could not see, the man leaned against the doorframe and sighed, uttering three words: “Norton.”

    .

When Su Sheng emerged again, there was no sign of what he had just experienced. Seeing that the man had been waiting outside, his expression softened, and he said, “Thank you.”

Then he asked, “What is your name?”

The man smiled and said, “Please call me Ben.”

Su Sheng nodded: “Ben, thank you. However, I plan to leave now.”

Ben’s expression showed no surprise; he seemed to have anticipated this. He asked, “Are you leaving the City-State? Where are you going?”

Su Sheng hesitated for a moment and said, “Leaving The Abyss.”

The man pulled out a compass. Su Sheng recognized the object immediately. It was a directional disk that, with a little magic applied, could point in the direction of one’s desire.

Ben smiled slightly and said, “Take this. The journey out of The Abyss is long, and you will need it. And don’t worry, I have already applied magic to it, enough to last until you leave The Abyss.”

Su Sheng was a little surprised and did not take the item from Ben’s hand. He had no prior connection with this man and didn’t understand why he would help him.

Ben saw his confusion: “Please do not refuse the help of a gentleman.”

Since he put it that way, Su Sheng couldn’t very well refuse, so he nodded and said, “Thank you.”

Ben’s smile deepened: “You’re welcome. It is my honor.”

    .

Walking along the road, Su Sheng was uneasy and checked the directional disk again, finding that there was indeed nothing wrong with it.

In fact, he truly needed this item, because according to the Demon King’s intention, he would lose his hearing and sight upon leaving the City-State.

After stepping out of the city gate, he found that, just as the Demon King had said, he immediately lost his senses, though thankfully he still had his sense of touch.

He silently recited the direction in his mind, his fingers touching the pointer, and followed the direction indicated by the needle.

But strangely, the pointer never changed direction. Su Sheng hesitated and stopped, but remembering his previous check had found no issues, he continued forward.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, a strange feeling surfaced in his heart. Su Sheng slowly stopped.

Although he felt that the distance he had covered was not enough to truly exit The Abyss, he inexplicably felt that he had been walking in circles.

Just then, he heard a series of footsteps.

A bad premonition instantly surfaced. Sure enough, the next moment, Su Sheng felt someone standing in front of him.

The aura on the person was extremely familiar.

Su Sheng’s expression turned cold. Now, how could he not know? He had “voluntarily” walked right back in front of that person!

Su Sheng raised his head, his blind eyes accurately fixed in one direction, and he coldly uttered: “It’s you, Lishiel.”

“It is me.” Ben’s voice appeared, full of malice, completely abandoning his previous gentle demeanor.

A breath drew close to his ear, and the Demon King intimately stroked the back of his neck, asking, “Why are you so naughty?”
