Forced To Become The Devil’S Succubus Lover Chapter 10
bySu Sheng had nothing extra on hand. He simply drew the small dagger and aimed it at the Demon King. The dark power of The Abyss was too heavy; even the Light Summoning Array had failed, let alone the magic from the summoning staff.
Without a handy weapon, he was at a disadvantage. But Su Sheng was not afraid. Even without a weapon, if he wanted to leave, the Demon King couldn’t stop him.
Lishiel leaned against the wall, neither speaking nor moving, seemingly uninterested in fighting.
The atmosphere froze there until Lishiel finally broke the silence.
“I can let you out, and I can let your friend leave, but you need to agree to one condition.”
The Demon King slowly picked up the potion bottle that had fallen to the ground, playing with it in his hand, though his gaze remained fixed on Su Sheng, carrying a subtle hint of probing.
Su Sheng narrowed his eyes in thought, then asked after a moment, “What condition?”
“Give me a bottle of your blood.”
Blood?
What did he intend to do?
Su Sheng refused without hesitation: “Impossible.”
No one would agree to such a request, because once a highly skilled Mage obtained one’s blood, it was equivalent to handing over half of one’s life. A Mage who could cast spells could use your blood to place any curse or, of course, any contract upon you.
The Demon King narrowed his eyes, preparing to say something more.
But then Su Sheng spoke again: “I advise you to drop any thoughts of threatening me. Loren is nothing more than a passerby to me.”
The Demon King chuckled softly: “How cold-hearted.”
Seeing Su Sheng remain silent, he sighed regretfully. “Fine. Since you accompanied me for so long, I will only extract a small compensation.”
“Wh—”
The Demon King instantly moved from four or five steps away to stand right beside Su Sheng. His pair of cold, dark eyes were now filled with amusement. His fingertip traced Su Sheng’s jawline up to his Adam’s apple, lightly rubbing it. After a slight pause, the Demon King stared at Su Sheng’s lips, his gaze rippling. A moment later, he shifted his eyes, and his slightly husky voice echoed in the air:
“Done.”
Su Sheng: “…?”
He didn’t understand what the Demon King was doing.
Why was the Demon King staring at his lips?
That expression was strangely similar to the irrational Loren from before.
Was he trying to cast some kind of spell on his lips?
Su Sheng thought with a strange expression, but since the Demon King didn’t seem interested in revenge, it made things easier for him.
“Go. Your friend is waiting for you,” the Demon King said with a smile behind him as Su Sheng turned to leave.
As Su Sheng was about to disappear from sight, Lishiel raised his head, his eyes blazing with alarming desire, his possessiveness fully exposed: “Norton, sooner or later, your heart will belong to me.”
“And what I want, you will offer up with both hands.”
Su Sheng messaged Loren immediately after leaving the castle. Fortunately, Loren replied right away.
In his message, Loren said he had just been trapped in a patch of woods surrounding the castle, had lost his satchel, and asked if Su Sheng had found the Silver Star Orchid.
Su Sheng confirmed he had found it and arranged a meeting spot at the previous rock.
Upon meeting, Su Sheng handed the bottle containing the Silver Star Orchid to Loren and said, “I have fulfilled what I promised you. I will also deliver the item I promised to gift you as agreed. I believe we can part ways now.”
This statement was too sudden. Loren’s expression turned startled, his body stiffening. He repeated, as if he hadn’t heard clearly, “What?”
“I said,” Su Sheng emphasized his tone, coldly looking away, “let us part ways now. Thank you for your care during this time.”
Loren was unwilling and said, “My dear Norton, I don’t think you understand The Abyss. It is thousands of kilometers from the outer regions. Even with your magic, it won’t be easy to walk out of here, especially since you are not in peak condition, are you? You don’t even have a suitable weapon.”
“If you go alone, I will be very worried about you.”
After speaking, Loren looked directly at him with his sapphire-blue eyes, which were filled with sorrow and concern.
Su Sheng pursed his lips. The hand hidden beneath his sleeve clenched tightly into a fist, grasping at nothing, but a moment later, he released it, as if trying to hold onto something, yet feeling utterly powerless.
He had been deceived once; he couldn’t give anyone a second chance to hurt him.
With this thought, Su Sheng’s gaze turned icy. His entire demeanor shifted, becoming more indifferent, detached, and unapproachable. He slightly parted his lips and said, “I believe our cooperation ends here.”
Good. Very good.
Loren forced himself to maintain a smile.
Truly worthy of being the Saint Son of the Continent of Light.
Norton Similias.
Well done.
But what does your vigilance matter? I will make you stay by my side willingly and without any defenses.
Loren smiled instead of getting angry: “Since you are so determined, then so be it. I hope we have a chance to meet again.”
After parting ways with Loren, Su Sheng walked on.
During a rest stop, Su Sheng took out his waterskin and walked to a stream. The mirror-like stream reflected Su Sheng’s figure. Clumps of silver-glow grass swayed in the breeze along the bank, and a crooked-neck tree stood silently nearby, like an old man leaning on a cane.
As he scooped water, Su Sheng felt a strange sense of familiarity with the current scene. He subconsciously looked around. When he saw the crooked-neck tree, his thoughts momentarily drifted.
—Your clothes are dirty. Give them to me; I’ll wash them for you.
—Feeling uncomfortable?
—My dear Norton, I didn’t realize you were so pure…
Su Sheng didn’t know why he suddenly recalled these things. They were moments that made him uncomfortable; he should have forgotten them.
Rubbing his temples, he chased those images out of his mind. He shouldn’t be thinking about those things, and certainly not about that person.
After walking continuously for three days, he finally left the castle’s vicinity, and the number of demons he encountered increased.
After collecting some demon corpses, Su Sheng found a place to rest.
He burned the limbs of high-level demons into powder and mixed it with silver-glow flowers, scattering the mixture around. This would repel low-level demons, ensuring he could get a peaceful night’s sleep.
Magic was not inexhaustible, especially in the dark Abyss, where replenishing magic was extremely slow and required sufficient rest.
After waking up from his sleep, Su Sheng was preparing to continue his journey, but he stopped after only two steps.
Nothing else, just a faint smell of blood permeating the air.
A human had come here.
Who would be so bold?
Su Sheng hesitated for a moment, his gaze inadvertently falling on the dagger in his hand. He decided to go and investigate.
Following the scent of blood, the number of demons increased, but they were all too busy to notice him, running with crimson eyes toward a single direction. Su Sheng simply cast an invisibility spell on himself and followed the group of demons.
“Did you hear? Eugili caught a human, blonde and blue-eyed. I heard he’s holding him there, preparing for a feast.”
“I heard. I can smell the blood in the air. Ah, it smells so good. It’s been years since I smelled such fragrant, fresh blood.”
Listening to the demons’ descriptions, a bad premonition vaguely rose in Su Sheng’s heart.
Damn it, could that human be Loren?
He quickened his pace toward that direction and arrived shortly after.
It was a wandering demon stronghold. Perhaps because a human was being held there, the number of demons in the stronghold, which usually held only a few dozen, had increased tenfold.
In a huge valley, dozens of demons surrounded a cage on the grassy ground, guarding it closely, their eyes fixed on the cage with drooling desire.
Su Sheng’s sharp eyes spotted a blonde youth lying inside. The youth had his eyes closed and was soaked in blood—it was Loren!
His heart contracted slightly. Su Sheng looked away, scanning the surroundings, and climbed into a recessed rock crevice.
He wasn’t afraid of the demons here, but their numbers were still increasing. If he cast magic here, the leaked magical aura would likely attract even stronger demons. If his magic reserves were depleted then, both he and Loren might perish here.
Su Sheng crouched there, in a blind spot for the demons. He calmly scanned the demons in the valley, and an idea slowly formed in his mind.
He used his dagger to cut his wrist, letting out a little fresh blood. He then retreated ten miles away with the blood and cast a duplication spell on it.
Immediately, a person identical to him appeared before his eyes. It was a phantom created from his blood, capable of running and jumping, almost exactly like him.
However, it could only exist for fifteen minutes.
Su Sheng deliberately cast several Light spells here, trying to attract the demons over. The effect was significant, and soon a few demons gathered.
When those demons saw “Su Sheng,” their eyes lit up.
“Heavens, what day is it? Another human?!”
Seeing that enough had gathered, Su Sheng, hidden to the side, directed the other “Su Sheng” to run in the opposite direction.
At this point, only five minutes remained.
In these five minutes, he had to eliminate all the demons and take Loren away.
Returning to the valley, Su Sheng directly cast a massive magic array to destroy the remaining demons. This consumed a lot of energy, so after it was over, beads of sweat dotted Su Sheng’s forehead, and his face was noticeably pale.
He approached the cage, attempting to split it open with magic, but was startled to find it was a prison made of magical materials; ordinary magic couldn’t break it.
He would have to find the key.
The demons’ bodies had been incinerated. Among the remaining clothes, Su Sheng found the key.
But as he walked over, he suddenly frowned. The duplication spell had failed thirty seconds early.
This meant that the “Su Sheng” had been killed.
Or there was another possibility: his blood had been taken, causing the magic to terminate prematurely.
The last possibility was slim, as Su Sheng had placed a defensive spell in the blood, which would trigger if anyone touched it.
There were few people in the world who could break his magic.
A few minutes later, Su Sheng carried Loren on his back and quickly left the valley.
Just minutes after they departed, the group of demons returned.
“I never thought it would be your turn to save me,” Loren woke up, leaning on Su Sheng’s shoulder, laughing muffledly into his neck.
Su Sheng looked somewhat unwell, and his tone was far from polite: “Weren’t you quite capable in a fight? How did you end up in the hands of a bunch of demons? Also, lift your head. Don’t rub your blood onto my clothes.”
Loren smiled and rubbed his head against Su Sheng, but seeing Su Sheng’s increasingly ugly expression, he rubbed harder, as if deliberately provoking him, and said, “My dear Norton, I didn’t realize you were a person with a sharp tongue but a soft heart.”
A cold aura emanated from Su Sheng’s head. He gritted his teeth: “Shut up!”
Meanwhile, in the massive Spire Castle.
The Demon King was gently shaking the potion bottle in his hand. If one looked closely, they would see that the labeled bottle contained half a bottle of blood.
He looked somewhat troubled, sighing as he murmured to the bottle of blood, “What should I do, Saint Son? My duplication magic is about to fail too.”
It seems we will meet again soon.
Norton Similias.
The Demon King’s gaze pierced through the void, accurately fixing upon Su Sheng.
