Fallen At A Glance Chapter 14
byAre You a Beast?
Yun Suiyi buried his face in Lian Mu’s neck, his shoulders shaking silently and violently. Scalding tears instantly soaked Lian Mu’s collar. He didn’t make a sound, but the extreme, suppressed pain wrapped around him like an airtight net, causing Lian Mu to feel a suffocating tenderness.
Lian Mu didn’t ask anything. He simply tightened his arms further, using his warm palm to gently stroke Yun Suiyi’s back, over and over, as if comforting a startled young beast.
His chin rested lightly on the crown of Yun Suiyi’s head, his voice low and tender, carrying a magical quality that could smooth out any distress: “Cry. Here with me, Yiyi can cry for as long as you need.”
After a while, sensing that the person in his arms had calmed down slightly, Lian Mu used his fingertips to carefully wipe away the tear stains on Yun Suiyi’s face. The movement was as gentle as polishing a rare treasure. He gazed at Yun Suiyi’s slightly reddened eyes, his expression filled with an overwhelming compassion and heartache, and coaxed softly: “No more crying, alright? Yiyi, you can tell me anything that makes you unhappy or anything you want.”
“Anything I can ask for?” Yun Suiyi asked, his voice soft and his eyes still red-rimmed.
Lian Mu nodded.
Can you love me? Yun Suiyi thought internally.
Lian Mu looked at Yun Suiyi, who was pouting like a wronged child at that moment. This sight was enough to shatter all of Lian Mu’s composure.
“Yiyi, just ask,” Lian Mu soothed Yun Suiyi.
“I want to be with you forever and ever… is that possible too?”
“Of course it is,” Lian Mu’s tone was firm and sincere. “Yiyi, I know you carry a heavy burden, and I know the path you took to get here was difficult. I won’t let you walk the road ahead alone.”
He leaned in closer, their breaths nearly intertwining.
Lian Mu’s voice was very soft, yet every word carried immense weight, “I want to be with you, not for a few days, nor a few years, but for life after life, forever.”
Yun Suiyi’s throat bobbed. “Even if I am a sinister, despicable, ill-tempered villain who has killed countless people?”
“My Yiyi has simply suffered too much since childhood. Being sinister, despicable, ill-tempered, and killing countless people are just protective shells for yourself and your family. In truth, my Yiyi is an exceptionally kind and lovely person.”
“You’re not talking about me.” Yun Suiyi wiped away his own tears. That was Yun Zhao; he was the one who was innocent, kind, and purely adorable.
He, however, was rotten to the core, a person who had lived in the gutter for years without any emotion.
“It seems my Yiyi has never truly recognized himself,” Lian Mu said gently. “Yiyi thinks this way because you haven’t received enough love. It’s alright. Once Yiyi receives a lot and lot of love from me, you will get to know yourself properly again.”
Yun Suiyi felt as if something soft and scalding had violently struck his chest. A warm current instantly surged through his limbs and bones.
The loneliness, anxiety, and self-loathing buried deep in his heart were, in this moment, illuminated by Lian Mu’s words, leaving them nowhere to hide and causing them to vanish into thin air.
He didn’t speak, but slowly raised his eyes. Then, using all his strength, he leaned forward and actively kissed the lips that had just sworn an eternal vow.
This kiss lacked the heat of lust; it only held an overwhelming, melting tenderness.
Lian Mu turned from passive to active.
After a long time, their lips parted.
Lian Mu’s forehead rested against Yun Suiyi’s forehead, their breaths intertwined, hot and rapid.
Lian Mu looked at Yun Suiyi’s cheeks, flushed red from lack of oxygen, and at his own reflection in Yun Suiyi’s eyes. He spoke his most beautiful promise in a voice that was almost a whisper, yet incredibly firm:
“Yiyi, you and I, life after life, will never be separated.”
Yun Suiyi froze for a moment. Then, a smile bloomed on his face, a hundred times brighter than the moonlight outside the window. He lunged forward again, hugging Lian Mu tightly, as if trying to melt the man into his very bones.
“Lian Mu, are you a beast?” Yun Suiyi was utterly shocked. He… he actually…
“Yiyi, you are naked and pressed so close to me. It would be hard to explain if I didn’t have some kind of reaction, wouldn’t it?”
“But… but it already ended just now…”
“Just now ended. Now we can begin.” As Lian Mu spoke, he flipped over, pinning Yun Suiyi beneath him. The movement was not rough, but carried an undeniable firmness.
The silk quilt was crumpled into fine wrinkles, supporting Yun Suiyi’s scattered dark hair. A few strands clung to the flushed side of his neck, trembling slightly with his rapid breathing.
The air seemed to solidify, leaving only the sound of their intertwined, burning breaths, like an invisible net trapping them firmly within this private space.
Yun Suiyi’s cheeks were already stained with a captivating blush, extending to his earlobes which were so red they looked ready to bleed. His peach blossom eyes, usually filled with exhaustion and pain, were now glistening with moisture, looking up at Lian Mu above him like a tamed, harmless young beast. The corners of his eyes were tinged with the flush of arousal, but deep within his pupils, a spark named desire flickered.
His long eyelashes fluttered restlessly, each tremor lightly scratching Lian Mu’s heart.
Lian Mu’s gaze was as deep as the sea. His usual ethereal aloofness had completely faded, replaced by a thick, melting, scalding passion. He gazed at the person beneath him, as if intending to engrave every nuance of Yun Suiyi’s expression into his eyes and brand it onto his heart.
Lian Mu slowly raised his hand. His well-defined, long-fingered hand gently traced Yun Suiyi’s brow bone. His fingertip slid slowly along the graceful curve, passing over the trembling eyelids. The warm pad of his thumb lingered on Yun Suiyi’s lips, feeling their softness and slight coolness.
“Yiyi…” He called out softly, his voice intensely hoarse, as if polished by coarse sandpaper. Every syllable was filled with uncontrollable desire and reverence, carrying an almost devout meaning, as if calling a sacred name.
Yun Suiyi didn’t answer, but merely parted his lips slightly. His tongue tip subtly peeked out, quickly licking his somewhat dry lower lip. This unconscious action struck Lian Mu’s mind like a sudden clap of thunder. He could no longer restrain himself, lowering his head to capture that warm softness.
The kiss began as a cautious exploration, like the gentlest breeze of spring lightly brushing against a budding flower.
Lian Mu’s lips twisted and rubbed, tenderly outlining Yun Suiyi’s mouth, drawing in his sweet, clean scent. Their breaths completely merged at this moment, and their heartbeats gradually overlapped, roaring like beating drums.
Soon, the breeze turned into a tempest.
Gentle sampling could no longer satisfy the craving in his heart. Lian Mu’s kiss became fervent and deep. He intensified the kiss, taking with a hint of greedy plunder, prying open the pearly teeth and tangling with the disobedient small tongue.
The air was filled with an ambiguous, wet sound, accompanied by their increasingly heavy panting.
Lian Mu’s arms tightened, the muscles beneath his clothes tensing, pulling Yun Suiyi even closer into his embrace.
Yun Suiyi also wrapped his arms around Lian Mu’s neck, their fingers intertwined, the tips sinking into his dark hair. He passionately responded to the other’s demands, his nails unconsciously scratching Lian Mu’s back, leaving a few shallow red marks.
Outside the window, the cold moonlight streamed through the lattice, spilling down like mercury, casting mottled shadows of trees on the floor and coating the intertwined figures on the bed with a hazy glow. The room was silent, save for the gentle dripping of the water clock, which blended with their intertwined, indescribable sounds, forming an enchanting and sweet nocturne belonging only to them.
“Lian… Lian Mu.”
“Be good, Yiyi, wait a moment.”
“…I can’t take it anymore, Lian… ah!”
“Soon, Yiyi.”
“…Bastard…”
“Yiyi is adorable even when cursing.”
Yun Suiyi was utterly speechless.
“Yiyi, hold me tight.”
Yun Suiyi obediently tightened his arms. “Ah…”
As Lian Mu finished, Yun Suiyi couldn’t hold on any longer. His head tilted, and he fell asleep immediately.
…
Listening to the sounds from the distant room, Xiao Cheng clenched his hands tightly. Soon, very soon, he too would be able to possess this young man before him.
