    Chapter 15 Fortune Telling

The newly minted brother-in-law gazed down at Da Bu, his deep brown eyes losing the warmth they held when looking at Sanhua. Da Bu felt the overwhelming pressure of a predator.

Brother, excuse us. The German Shepherd extended a paw and pressed it soothingly against the back of Sanhua’s neck.

He had no idea that his gesture carried a completely different meaning in Da Bu’s eyes.

Even dressed in a high-end suit, the tall black dog could not hide his innate ferocity. His extended paw was nearly as large as Sanhua’s entire face, and his rough paw pads brushed against the cat’s delicate, sensitive ear tips, prompting a faint, blood-red shiver.

It was the posture of a guardian protecting his property.

After all, this was a super delinquent dog who owed so much debt that his creditors threatened to break his legs! Da Bu had heard that beautiful cats like Sanhua were worth a lot in certain gray industries—things like suggestive maid outfit livestreams or offline cat-cuddling ASMR…

Da Bu’s conscience pricked him. He gritted his teeth and said, De…

    Brother!

A light voice interrupted as Xiao Bu appeared from the spiral staircase with graceful steps. Today, he wore a white suit from the same series as Sanhua’s, with a pale pink bowtie that made him look exceptionally pure and innocent.

Brother Sanhua, Brother-in-law, you really are here. The venue is all set, and the guests below are waiting for the groom to appear.

Xiao Bu winked playfully, only then noticing the mess on the floor. His odd-eyed gold and blue gaze flickered with surprise. This is…

It is nothing. Da Bu looked at his cute younger brother and closed his eyes. You two go ahead and get busy. I am going to meet the in-laws.

He did not dare look at Sanhua as he fled, clutching his wounded conscience.

Having witnessed this family dispute firsthand, the Corgi felt like his paws were about to dig out an entire castle from awkwardness. To his surprise, Sanhua, who was at the center of the incident, remained very calm.

Sanhua glanced at Xiao Bu, quickly composed his emotions, and said with a smile, Let us go then.

By the way, I had the kitchen prepare your favorite Marrow Bone flavored Shaodaozi for the toasts later. Try it in a bit and see if you like it, Sanhua whispered into Ade’s ear before asking Xiao Bu, Do you want to come along?

Xiao Bu hated dogs more than anything and should have refused, but seeing the intimate and natural way Sanhua and the German Shepherd interacted, he found himself agreeing.

    Brother Sanhua…

    What is it?

Nothing, you and Brother-in-law seem to get along so well, Xiao Bu smiled sweetly. If you do not find me in the way, that is.

Could Sanhua really be this close to a husband he had only known for a day? Also, why did this new brother-in-law look a bit familiar?

The two cats and one dog arrived at the busy kitchen. Halfway there, the Corgi could no longer stand the strange atmosphere; he gave Ade a paw signal and slipped away.

Sanhua looked around, his gaze lingering on a specific corner of the wall before he picked up the Shaodaozi before anyone else could notice. Alright, let us go.

Not long after they left, a rustling sound came from the corner, and a small mound of earth rose from the floor.

Mouseros was riding on the shoulders of another animal, emerging from underground covered in dirt.

Useless! He kicked the animal beneath him. I gave you the satellite coordinates, and you still managed to get lost! If I had not found someone to calculate the correct route, we would still be eating dust underground when the wedding ended!

The animal being kicked looked somewhat similar to him but was much larger. It let out a pained squeak and habitually curled into a ball to protect its head.

Forget it, go back underground and wait, Mouseros said, stroking his whiskers to avoid making too much noise. I did not expect that after searching for this kitten for so long, he would actually have the ability to be recognized by the House of Ragdoll. The House of Ragdoll must have been terrified by my thefts back then; they increased their security so many times. Too bad for them, they never expected me to appear from underground!

Mouseros chuckled to himself, letting out a distinctive criminal hiss.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a Cow Cat walking over. He scrambled under a cabinet and pulled an empty tin can over himself. Now for the most important step: finding out where that kitten hid the safe key!

Given Mouseros’s usual style, this would be easy—he would just bring his pack of hyena bodyguards, kidnap the cat, and torture the information out of him. Unfortunately, seeing the crowd of dog guests at the wedding today, Mouseros knew that tactic would not work.

Then there is only one way left. He pulled out his paw-phone and sent a one-cent red envelope to the nickname at the top of his list.

Notorious Mouse: Master, I need help urgently!

    Turtle-Speed: Offline, not taking commissions.

Notorious Mouse: Master, as long as you help me calculate the location of an item, I will make it worth your while!

Having said that, to show his sincerity, he gritted his teeth and sent Turtle-Speed a red envelope of 200 Dried Fish—the maximum limit!
