Domineering Moral Animal Husbandry: Where Can Sanhua’S Lovely Wife Escape? Chapter 12
byChapter 12 Husband
The German Shepherd was not the irresponsible type. Once he determined that Night Owl’s plan was feasible, he sought out Sanhua’s opinion early the next morning.
“What? Marriage? Between Mr. Ade and me?” Sanhua was wearing a small, white casual suit today, his fluffy tail swaying behind him.
From Ade’s perspective, he could see the cat nervously scratching at the hem of his clothes.
“Um… I certainly have no problem with it, but Mr. Ade, you are a public servant and a police dog. Won’t this affect you?”
Ade’s heart skipped a beat. He replied, “Thank you. No, I mean, I will report this to the Director and register it within the police system. It won’t affect you… and of course, if you don’t want to continue afterward… I can provide assistance then as well.”
The more he spoke, the more muddled his words became. He eventually bit his tongue in frustration to end the conversation.
His deep brown eyes looked toward Sanhua.
Sanhua smiled, his blue eyes as clear as a bright sky, warm and sweet. “I understand. Thank you, Mr. Ade. You truly are a police dog of upright character, steady and reliable.”
“…” For some reason, Ade recalled how Sanhua had described his future arranged marriage partner yesterday as a “dog of upright character, steady, reliable, and someone to entrust one’s life to.”
He felt inexplicably unhappy.
Sanhua blinked, his peripheral vision catching the listless droop of the ears atop Ade’s head.
His smile grew even sweeter. “Please, have a seat. I’ll go brew a pot of floral tea, and we can discuss the wedding arrangements.”
Ade immediately cast aside his previous displeasure and sat down, though he felt restless.
…
“First of all, if I am to hold a wedding with you, I need to obtain the consent of my arranged marriage partner.”
Ade frowned. “I can demand his cooperation in the name of the Police Department.”
“Emmm… the problem now is,” Sanhua said, “I don’t actually know the specific details of that partner.”
Ade immediately thought of the brothers, Da Bu and Xiao Bu. His impression of these two “relatives” of Sanhua’s darkened significantly.
“Then I—”
As if guessing what Ade was about to say, Sanhua spoke tactfully. “It’s best if we don’t let my brother or Xiao Bu know about this.”
“Fine.” Ade didn’t ask why. “I’ll investigate it.”
He began to recall his connections within the Woof Kingdom. Although the House of Shepherd had cut off all his accessible resources because he had rejected the marriage, he had cracked many major cases during his service in the Woof Kingdom’s police force. He had contacts among influential figures in both the political and business sectors. If he asked them for help…
Sanhua said, “There’s no need to trouble yourself, Mr. Ade. Let’s look at it differently. Since no one knows the specific details of my arranged partner, why don’t you just impersonate him?”
“As long as we lure my brother and Xiao Bu away on the wedding day, no one will discover the wedding is a sham. Since you need to protect the witness anyway, you probably wouldn’t let them stay at the wedding venue the whole time.”
“We’ll prepare for this wedding as if it were real. We’ll act as if you and I are truly getting married. That way, even Mouseros won’t be able to spot a single thing wrong.”
The cat’s gentle voice flowed into his ears, offering an incredibly tempting suggestion. Ade didn’t know where to look. He felt as though an invisible, mischievous tail was wagging behind Sanhua.
He felt a pang of shame and composed himself; the illusion vanished.
“…Alright.”
Sanhua’s whiskers twitched. “To fool Mouseros, I think it’s necessary for us to start building our rapport from now on…”
“Husband.”
“…”
Forget his ears or his face—Ade’s entire body turned beet red!
…
A day later, the Director received a six-thousand-word “Criminal Psychological Analysis of Mouseros” sent by Ade. Along with it came an action plan three times as thick.
“A fake marriage?” He marveled at the action plan, which was so detailed it even specified the types of decorative flowers to be used on the wedding day. He pondered for a moment.
Ultimately, based on Ade’s reputation for solving cases with lightning speed and his hatred for evil, the Director didn’t think twice. “Success lies in the details. Ade truly is a model police dog of our station. He’s making a huge sacrifice this time!”
“I must make sure to publish a notice in the newspapers later to help clear his name regarding this fake marriage, lest his real fiancée gets suspicious.”
—Thanks to the Corgi’s relentless efforts in spreading the word, everyone in the police station knew that Ade had a noble cat fiancée of high birth and gentle temperament.
Thinking of this, the Director simply called A-Ke over. “This matter must not be leaked, and we must avoid involving innocent civilians as much as possible. Mobilize all police dogs in our station who aren’t on active duty to help Ade prepare for the wedding. Also, request the Woof Kingdom Central Police to send a group of police dogs for support on the day of the event.”
As for the guests on the cat’s side… the Director thought for a moment.
A-Ke took the initiative to solve his problem. “I have some good feline candidates.”
He was well-known in the station for being well-informed. “A few years ago, while I was investigating a catnip smuggling case, I had contact with some underground cat gangs. They have many cats, all of whom are capable in both word and deed. As long as the Dried Fish is right and the job isn’t illegal, they’ll take any gig!”
The Director immediately approved three hundred pieces of Dried Fish for him, telling him to hire thirty gang cats who were good at catching mice and acting to serve as guests.
“Now, there is only one final issue left.” The Director’s serious tone made A-Ke sit up straight.
“This is something Ade specifically emphasized; it must be done well.” The Director instructed A-Ke, “Investigate the highest-rated wedding planning companies in the entire Animal Kingdom. Find the most reliable one to coordinate with Ade. He wants to personally design every single step of the wedding process!”
A-Ke: “?”
A-Ke: “!”
After listening to the Director’s praise about how Ade was a paragon of the police force for being so serious and responsible, A-Ke’s expression became complicated. “I have a bad suspicion, though I don’t know if I should say it…”
