[Conan] Black And Silver: The Bond Of Rivals Chapter 9
byThe Red Side Assembles: The Little Detective’s Realization
After the battle at Haido Port, the entire FBI task force fell into an unprecedented state of tension.
Jodie stood in the temporary command center, staring at the empty tracking signal on the screen, her knuckles turning white from gripping her fingers.
Three hours had passed since Shuichi Akai lost contact at the port.
No news, no traces—it was as if he had vanished from the face of the earth.
“James, what do we do now?” an agent nearby asked in a low, anxious voice.
James looked grave. “Continue expanding the search radius. Focus on the mountain roads around the port, abandoned buildings, and any safe houses the Organization might use. Gin wouldn’t have taken him far.”
Jodie rubbed her temples forcefully, the chaotic final scenes at the port replaying in her mind.
Gin’s overwhelming, determined dominance sent chills down her spine.
Just then, the door to the command center was pushed open.
Professor Agasa entered with several figures behind him, the chattering voices of the Junior Detective League instantly breaking the oppressive atmosphere.
Walking at the front was Conan Edogawa, wearing his glasses and looking calm.
“Ms. Jodie, Mr. James,” Conan greeted them, his tone unusually mature. “We heard something happened at the port. Is Mr. Akai… missing?”
Jodie froze for a moment.
She had forgotten that this boy, who looked like a primary school student, had already teamed up with the FBI many times. He was one of the few who knew Shuichi Akai’s true identity and the existence of the Black Organization.
They had fought side-by-side in mission after mission against the Organization; they were long-time partners who trusted each other implicitly.
Ai Haibara followed behind Conan, her face pale, instinctively clutching the hem of Conan’s shirt.
She had an instinctive fear of the Organization’s aura. The thought of Gin taking Shuichi Akai sent a chill through her entire body.
“Conan, why are you here?” Jodie asked, suppressing her emotions.
“The Professor saw the news about a large-scale disturbance at Haido Port. I figured it had to be related to the Organization,” Conan said, pushing up his glasses with a sharp gaze. “Mr. Akai went after Gin, didn’t he? Is he… being held by Gin now?”
Jodie nodded silently, confirming his suspicion.
Conan took a deep breath and immediately walked to the surveillance monitors, quickly scanning the port footage.
Though the images were chaotic, he captured the key detail in a single glance:
Gin had taken Shuichi Akai into the Porsche, and the vehicle’s final direction was toward the continuous mountain range to the north.
“They headed toward that mountain area,” Conan said, pointing to a specific section of the map. “The terrain there is complex and provides excellent cover. It’s a perfect place to hide someone.”
Ai Haibara spoke in a low voice, her tone carrying an imperceptible tremor:
“That’s Gin… he never leaves things to chance. Mr. Akai…”
“Mr. Akai will be fine,” Conan interrupted her, his voice exceptionally firm. “Gin had plenty of opportunities to kill him, but he never did. Taking him away this time wasn’t for the purpose of killing him.”
Jodie looked up sharply. “What do you mean?”
Conan didn’t explain further, but a flash of complexity crossed his eyes.
He could vaguely sense that between Shuichi Akai and Gin, there was a connection that far exceeded that of ordinary archnemeses.
It was a dangerous and profound entanglement, one that even he couldn’t fully comprehend.
“The most important thing now is to find their location,” Conan said solemnly. “Professor Agasa and I can help search the mountains. The Junior Detective League’s Detective Badges might come in handy.”
Jodie looking at the exceptionally calm young boy before her, Jodie felt her heart gradually steady.
She believed in Shuichi Akai, and she believed even more in this little detective who had created miracles time and again.
“Alright,” Jodie nodded. “We’ll split into teams and enter the mountains immediately. As soon as we find a signal, we move.”
Outside the window, the sky was gradually brightening as the first rays of dawn pierced the darkness.
A secret confrontation between the Red Side and the Black Organization was about to officially begin deep within the mountains.
