Chapter 12 Reward: I Can Give You a Reward

    “Huh?”

Shi Sanlin held his phone, voicing a question.

Yu You had just finished discussing the script with the director. When he returned to the Restroom, he saw Shi Sanlin looking bewildered. He asked, “Brother Shi, what’s wrong?”

Shi Sanlin scratched his head. “I was bored and checked your Weibo comments. I noticed a sudden influx of fans shipping you and CEO Jiang. The likes are quite high, they’ve all moved to the top.”

Yu You didn’t think much of it. “Oh, maybe the company arranged it. After all, CEO Jiang and I just went public with our relationship, so we need to generate some buzz…”

He suddenly realized, “Ah, so when CEO Jiang asked me this morning if I wanted to go to the company together, was it also to create an opportunity for a joint appearance so the media could publish press releases and hype us up?”

    Shi Sanlin wasn’t sure. “Probably?”

“But the director just signed the contract with me, and the crew’s schedule can’t be delayed any longer. We’re restarting filming this afternoon.” Yu You thought for a moment, picked up his phone, “Then I’ll send CEO Jiang a message. If he’s free, he can pick me up after work. That way, we can still issue a press release.”

Shi Sanlin’s tone was horrified. “Ah?”

Wait, is it really okay to order CEO Jiang around like that?

Yu You acted on his thoughts immediately, not feeling that anything was wrong. After quickly sending Jiang Xunzhou a flurry of messages, he looked relaxed. “Done.”

Shi Sanlin felt dizzy. “How… how is it done?”

Yu You shook his phone. “CEO Jiang agreed.”

Shi Sanlin couldn’t believe it. “CEO Jiang really agreed to come pick you up after work?”

“Yes,” Yu You said. “I sent him the address here and the time I finish.”

Shi Sanlin still felt it sounded like a fantasy. He leaned over to look, and the conversation on the screen was brief and effective.

Yu You: [Hubby, can you come pick me up after I finish work?]

Followed by a swaying kitten holding a heart emoji.

    Jiang Xunzhou: [Address.]

“There are also media waiting outside for news about who the third male lead will be, hoping to snap some photos,” Yu You planned. “It’ll be perfect to ‘accidentally’ catch CEO Jiang picking me up.”

    Shi Sanlin stammered, “Th-that’s good.”

He just felt like something was fundamentally off.

Shi Sanlin finally couldn’t help but advise, “Xiao Yu, CEO Jiang’s status is worlds apart from ours. You must be careful and not anger him.”

Yu You nodded earnestly. “Brother Shi, I know.”

The crew staff brought over box lunches, looking nervous, worried that Yu You, who had transformed from a Minor Celebrity with few fans into a pampered canary with luxury cars and bodyguards, wouldn’t be used to ordinary meals.

To their surprise, Yu You accepted it, thanked them politely, and dug in, eating with great relish.

After eating, filming resumed in the afternoon. Yu You went to get his makeup and costume done and quickly entered his role.

Halfway through filming, Yu You felt that familiar discomfort again. A strong, uncontrollable sense of being abandoned and insecurity arose, and his heart grew subtly anxious. He subconsciously looked around, wanting to find a certain figure in the crowd, but he forced the urge down.

As soon as his part was finally finished, Yu You rushed to find Shi Sanlin, urgently asking, “Brother Shi, where is the bag you were keeping for me?”

“Here, here.” Shi Sanlin held up the bag. “What’s wrong?”

Yu You didn’t have time to explain, hurrying back to the Restroom. He quickly dismissed the bodyguards and locked himself inside the room alone.

The Gland beneath the skin on the side of his neck throbbed, and the Iris Flower Pheromone drifted out, conveying intense anxiety and unease.

Yu You’s fingers trembled as he pulled out Jiang Xunzhou’s suit jacket and sprayed a few pumps of vetiver cologne.

The crisp scent floated on the suit fabric, slowly diffusing, carrying a certain allure.

Yu You draped the large jacket over himself, his slender figure curled up in the corner of the sofa. He closed his eyes, imagining Jiang Xunzhou holding him from behind.

The rich vetiver scent enveloped him like a large net, greatly alleviating a certain thirst.

But the large suit jacket felt empty when worn. Even pulling the lapels tight and trying desperately to wrap himself up, it was far inferior to the comfort and security brought by skin-to-skin contact.

Yu You bit his lip, finally certain.

Using cologne to disguise Pheromones was useless; it could only briefly alleviate the shallowest layer of dependence.

    He wanted his Alpha…

    Yu You thought vaguely.

There was an urgent knock on the door, followed by Shi Sanlin’s worried voice: “Xiao Yu, what’s wrong?”

There was even the serious voice of a bodyguard: “Mr. Yu, are you alright? If you are unwell, we will take measures to enter now—”

Yu You felt a bit dizzy. He struggled to reply, “I’m fine. I… just give me a moment. I’ll be okay soon…”

The young man propped himself up, clinging to the last shred of precarious sanity. He packed the wrinkled suit jacket, saturated with the scent of vetiver, back into the paper bag and placed it beside the sofa.

—This Restroom was confirmed to be exclusively for his use; no other staff would enter without his permission.

Yu You opened the Restroom door, his face pale, his body swaying slightly.

“Why do you look so terrible?” Shi Sanlin asked anxiously. “Is it because you rushed the schedule this afternoon and didn’t rest enough? Are you not used to it?”

“Maybe,” Yu You forced a smile, his thoughts anxious and chaotic, his speech slightly slow. “It’s fine, Brother Shi. I’ll be better after a night’s sleep when I get back.”

The bodyguard standing nearby whispered, “Mr. Yu, CEO Jiang is waiting for you outside.”

Yu You’s eyes instantly lit up. He said, “He’s already here?”

The young man walked quickly outside, with a sense of impatience. His pale cheeks also became faintly flushed, and his expression was full of anticipation.

In the distance on the set, figures mingled, noisy and chaotic.

But Yu You spotted Jiang Xunzhou immediately.

The man’s face was handsome, his demeanor distinguished. He was talking casually with the director, adjusting the watch on his wrist.

    “Hubby!”

The young man’s light, joyful voice rang out.

Everyone on set fell silent, looking over in astonishment.

Jiang Xunzhou subconsciously lifted his eyes, following the sound, and looked straight into the young man’s eyes.

They were clear and beautiful, like transparent amber, flickering with bright light.

Yu You smiled, his eyes curving, the corners of his moist, red lips turning up in an arc of undisguised delight.

He sprinted over and threw himself at Jiang Xunzhou.

Jiang Xunzhou’s body reacted faster than his mind. He stepped forward, opened his arms, and caught the young man, holding him securely in a full embrace.

The moment their bodies touched, all the anxiety and unease dissipated like clouds.

The vetiver scent on Jiang Xunzhou was faint, far less intense than on the suit jacket, but it brought a stronger sense of fulfillment.

Yu You complained softly, “Hubby, you came so slowly. I was thinking about you the whole time.”

He lifted his face, his tone light and soft with a hint of a spoiled plea. “But it’s great, you still came to pick me up—I thought you had forgotten.”

Jiang Xunzhou instinctively said, “Since I promised you, of course I would come.”

The director coughed twice nearby. “CEO Jiang, we can discuss the investment matter later when we have time.”

Jiang Xunzhou regained his composure and agreed.

He then lowered his head and spoke in a gentle, coaxing voice, “Little Fish Baby, let go first. We can hug again when we get back, okay?”

Yu You pretended not to hear, only burrowing further into Jiang Xunzhou’s arms, inhaling the faint scent on him.

Jiang Xunzhou calmly explained to the director, “Little Fish is young and quite clingy. Please excuse him.”

The director smoothed things over. “Young people in love are like this. I understand, I understand.”

The others on set exchanged glances, their expressions complex.

Most people present had been immersed in the entertainment industry for a long time and were well-versed in public relations tactics. Even after seeing the statement released by Star Sky Entertainment, they believed the public relationship was merely a cover-up for a stolen photo of a one-night stand, trusting none of it.

But the intimate attitude between the two now…

Jiang Xunzhou’s background was undeniable; he possessed capital and arrogance, and was notoriously cold, never giving unnecessary pleasantries to irrelevant people.

Yet, facing the young man, he was completely transformed—eyes lowered, expression soft, patiently coaxing him until the young man finally, reluctantly, let go.

Jiang Xunzhou took Yu You’s hand, enveloping it in his own palm, and politely told the director, “Then I’ll take Little Fish now. I’ll bring him back tomorrow.”

The director wouldn’t dare say no, nodding repeatedly.

Shi Sanlin watched the entire scene from behind, dumbfounded.

Assistant Wan reminded him, “The address of the crew’s hotel has been exposed and is not very safe. Mr. Yu will continue to stay at CEO Jiang’s place. From now on, during filming, Agent Shi just needs to wait on set.”

Shi Sanlin nodded mechanically. “Oh, oh, alright…”

The driver waited outside the set in the car.

As soon as they were back in the car, the young man couldn’t wait, straddling Jiang Xunzhou’s lap, facing him, and burying himself in his embrace again.

Jiang Xunzhou’s hand rested loosely on Yu You’s waist, preventing him from falling, the curve of his lips a half-smile. “We’ve only been apart for a day. Why are you so clingy?”

Yu You buried his face in Jiang Xunzhou’s neck, his fingers clutching his clothes, mumbling something.

His voice was too low. Jiang Xunzhou didn’t catch it and tilted his head slightly. “What did you say?”

Yu You lifted his face, wrinkling his nose with a hint of dissatisfaction. “Hug me. Don’t you miss me?”

The young man’s lips parted and closed, beautifully shaped, with a cute, upturned cupid’s bow.

For the camera, his lips were coated with a layer of light red, like velvet, resembling rose petals dusted with dew.

[Little Fish Baby, it looks like you have a bit of lipstick on your mouth. I’ll help you lick it off.]

The bold comment from Weibo intruded into his mind and refused to leave.

Even if someone were to lick it off, only he had the right to help Little Fish Baby clean off the lipstick…

Jiang Xunzhou’s gaze fixed on his moist, red lips. His Adam’s apple bobbed. His heart felt like it had been scratched by a cat, a fine, dense tingling sensation rising, an unstoppable itch.

    He glanced forward.

The partition inside the car had been raised. The special material provided excellent soundproofing; the front row couldn’t hear any movement from the back.

Yu You complained, “Why aren’t you paying attention to me? Did I do something wrong and make you angry? I didn’t intentionally pretend not to hear you just now. It’s just been too long since I saw you, and I wanted to hug you a little longer…”

“I’m not ignoring you, and you didn’t do anything wrong.”

Jiang Xunzhou’s finger pressed against the corner of Yu You’s lip, rubbing lightly. His fingertip was stained with a noticeable crimson.

“On the contrary, Little Fish Baby behaved very well today.”

His voice was low and pleased. “In return, I can give you a reward.”

Yu You asked dazedly, “What reward?”

Jiang Xunzhou smiled, cupped Yu You’s chin, lowered his head, and kissed him.
