Chapter Index

Knowing the other party’s gender, Lu Rong had many guesses in his heart.

On Planet Astar before his reign, Omegas were strictly prohibited from enlisting. If discovered, they would be sent to nurseries and reduced to breeding tools.

Judging from the timing of this Omega’s attacks, the first was when he realized his face had been exposed, and the second was when he realized his gender had been exposed. Lu Rong guessed this place had similar regulations. The Omega before him was likely hiding his gender to serve in the military and had highly recognizable features, which was why he wanted to kill Lu Rong the moment he thought his identity was compromised.

But after realizing Lu Rong seemed not to have noticed, the other party also held onto a sliver of hope, not resisting immediately after being restrained the first time. Unfortunately, that vial of medicine had exposed everything.

Lu Rong watched the Omega. The other party still appeared calm and restrained, though his expression was somewhat uneasy. He panted softly, glancing at the distance between himself and Lu Rong. “Stay away from me, Alpha. I’m in heat.”

The disgust on the Omega’s face was palpable, but his damp body and flushed cheeks betrayed his predicament.

Lu Rong looked at him with a faint smile. After the recent fight, Lu Rong’s hair was slightly messy, and his collar was a bit open. He tidied his hair and continued watching the Omega. After being stared at for a few seconds, the Omega averted his eyes and stopped speaking.

Lu Rong did not sit further away, nor did he move closer. He turned down a setting on his bracelet, leaking a bit of Alpha pheromones, while keeping the column for receiving Omega pheromones strictly prohibited.

Lu Rong began to appreciate the superior technological development of this place. On Planet Astar, technology to completely isolate gender pheromones had not yet been developed; accidents caused by pheromone attraction still occurred between Alphas and Omegas.

Right now, he could not smell the Omega’s pheromones, but the other party could feel his. He could completely control the situation instead of being controlled by pheromones.

He carefully observed the Omega, watching the other’s reaction.

The Alpha pheromones slowly dispersed in the air. Contrary to the cold wind and snow outside, Lu Rong’s pheromones were a light, gentle floral scent, a fragrance carrying warmth. But gentleness was just a mask; he was, after all, an S-level Alpha.

When the pheromones reached the Omega, he saw the Omega’s expression change instantly, staring at him with a face full of severity.

On one side of his fair neck, veins bulged fiercely. The other party seemed to be struggling to endure something; his breathing grew heavy. However, such severity paired with flushed cheeks did not seem so fierce. The Omega’s body trembled involuntarily, and his eyes even carried intense hatred, like a vicious beast ready to pounce and bite at any moment.

But Lu Rong did not move. He leaned against the back of the chair, quietly holding his gun against the Omega, allowing his Alpha pheromones to envelop the disheveled Omega.

Initially, the Omega tried to resist, but the attraction of pheromones was an instinct carved into the bones. His breathing soon became somewhat suggestive, and the fierce gaze he directed at Lu Rong turned dazed.

He seemed unwilling, but soon a strange doubt arose. The look he pointed at Lu Rong became searching and naked. Perhaps he found it hard to accept such exposed emotions himself, as he slowly lowered his head to avoid Lu Rong’s gaze.

White hair slid messily with his movement, revealing his reddened ears. Although his face was hidden, Lu Rong’s gun was still pressed against his chest. The rise and fall of his breathing pushed against the muzzle, hurried and chaotic, as if he could not help but take deep breaths of the pheromones.

At certain subtle moments, the moving muzzle seemed to press against a protruding rib. The friction through the clothes brought pain.

An Omega in this period is extremely sensitive. The person before him seemed capable of great endurance, but in reality, he was completely exposed—several times, Lu Rong noticed the other party showing a hint of discomfort due to this friction, his ears turning redder and his body trembling slightly.

He pulled his hand back slightly, maintaining a distance that was safe for both.

In the absence of suppressants, a moderate amount of Alpha pheromones can temporarily alleviate an Omega’s heat symptoms to some extent. This moderate limit is hard to control; too much worsens the symptoms, too little is useless. Fortunately, Lu Rong was an S-level Alpha. He knew how to control himself. He observed the Omega’s reaction and lowered his pheromone suppression setting a bit more, releasing more pheromones.

Since their relationship had already soured to this point, Lu Rong would rather talk to someone who was slightly more clear-headed but fierce than someone incoherent and affected by heat.

Moreover, as an S-level Alpha, pheromone soothing would make most Omegas develop a slight dependence on him. He needed such dependence to facilitate the following conversation.

The wind and snow outside continued to howl, showing signs of getting heavier, but neither had time to look out the window.

Lu Rong kept a close eye on the Omega’s state. Long after, he felt the Omega across from him gradually relax. His body was no longer so tense. He seemed to have sweated a lot; sweat from his cheeks dripped down his smooth, sharp jawline onto the floor.

At a certain moment, the Omega raised his head to look at Lu Rong. His eyes were much clearer, and the heat symptoms seemed to have eased, but his expression carried a bewildered question, even some shock.

Lu Rong did not know what the other party was confused about, nor what had shocked him. Sensing the time for negotiation had come, he tapped the Omega’s chest with the cold firearm. “I speak, you listen,” he emphasized.

The Omega did not answer. He was disheveled and quiet, like a statue, his focus fixed on Lu Rong. Lu Rong calmly met his gaze.

Lu Rong grasped the heart of the matter. “I won’t tell anyone about you being an Omega.”

“You saved me; I won’t hurt you.” Lu Rong stared at the Omega, using the gun to tilt up his sweat-drenched face, forcing him to meet his eyes. “We won’t meet again after today, so there’s no need to be so guarded.”

Lu Rong’s green eyes were sharp and cold, like deep green emeralds. As they locked eyes, those golden beast-like pupils did not yield at all. If gazes were weapons, they would have stepped onto the battlefield once more.

A few minutes later, the Omega blinked. His tension eased slightly, but his words remained sharp. “I cannot trust you. All Alphas are my enemies.”

Lu Rong gave a short laugh. “I’ve seen your face. If I were an Omega, would you have let me go?”

He guessed there was a reason the Omega wore a mask before. Sure enough, the Omega’s expression froze for a moment.

Lu Rong watched him, then spoke candidly after a moment. “I was betrayed by my Omega lover at my wedding and ended up here by accident. My parents were also at the wedding; I need to go back and find them. So, I won’t interfere with your life. I have my own things to do.”

Hearing Lu Rong mention his parents, the Omega frowned and sized him up.

Lu Rong continued, “Besides, where I come from, Omegas can also join the military. Therefore, I have no reason to stop you. It’s a good thing.”

This time, the Omega was stunned for a moment. He looked at Lu Rong in surprise, then remained silent for a while. Lu Rong knew he was thinking and gave him enough time.

The snow outside the aircraft fell even harder. After a long time, the Omega suddenly asked, “Where are you from?”

“A place called Planet Astar,” Lu Rong replied, pausing. “Have you heard of it?”

The Omega sized him up again, a hint of contemplation in his expression. Lu Rong felt a strange softening in the other’s attitude. He did not interrupt, only observing the Omega. He noticed the other’s Adam’s apple sliding as he swallowed—not out of nervousness, but seemingly just—

“Never heard of it,” the Omega answered. Without warning, he pulled one hand out of the bindings. The restraints loosened from his body as he slowly stood up.

Blood-stained white hair fell before Lu Rong’s eyes. Lu Rong’s thoughts were cut off for a moment as he looked up at the Omega, recalling the binding process and certain he had tied them tightly.

The Omega looked down at Lu Rong, his golden eyes cold and brilliant. This time, Lu Rong saw his eyes clearly—they were beast-like vertical pupils, the patterns within possessing a fierce beauty belonging to a jungle predator.

“Terrible tying.” The Omega’s shadow fell over Lu Rong, but he did not attack this time. Instead, he threw the restraints onto Lu Rong.

Covered in the restraints, Lu Rong realized that the previous questions and answers were just the Omega’s way of distracting him. This Omega had never given up on breaking free.

Lu Rong tilted his head and smiled.

The Omega did not attack Lu Rong again. After getting up, he turned and walked into the inner room of the medical bay. Lu Rong guessed he was looking for new pheromone suppressants. He did not follow, staying in his seat to think about how to continue communicating and what to ask.

Clattering sounds came from the inner room, sounding somewhat frantic. Lu Rong glanced at the door a few times but resisted going in. Soon, the sound of things falling over echoed. Just as Lu Rong was about to lose his patience and enter, the Omega walked out.

He held a black object. Lu Rong did not know what it was, but it did not look like a weapon or medicine. Lu Rong did not ask. After some deliberation, he spoke: “Can you tell me what place this is?”

The Omega stuck the object into his own arm while slowly walking toward Lu Rong. As he drew closer, Lu Rong saw the Omega’s nose twitch slightly, sniffing his pheromones like an animal. Only then did he remember he had forgotten to turn off the pheromone release button on his suppression ring.

“Sorry.” He raised his hand to turn the suppression ring to its highest setting. When he looked up again, he found the Omega tilting his head and studying him, catching the Omega’s eyes unexpectedly.

Although he had seen them several times, Lu Rong still had to say they were a very special pair of eyes. Even though the hostility had faded significantly, they still made Lu Rong feel danger. They seemed like eyes that would not smile, possessing a non-human coldness.

“This is a planet with only a serial number,” the Omega said. “The Kulkulkan Empire rules the galaxy. All planets, named or unnamed, are recorded in the star charts. Go back to where you woke up; that’s an escort ship that can detach from the aircraft and sail on its own. Find where you want to go in the escort ship’s star chart, and you can leave.”

Lu Rong breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you,” he said sincerely.

The Omega glanced at Lu Rong, removed the device from his arm, and looked up at him. Despite everything, the man before him still maintained a decent composure.

He suspected this Alpha came from some Class-C planet with primitive technology but no ability to explore space independently, which is why the Empire had never intervened. Since every civilization had different ways of drawing star charts, Lu Rong likely would not find what he was looking for.

“If you can’t find where you want to go in the star chart, you can go to Teslan Prison to see the recorder of the star charts, Blueprint. He will have the answers you want.” The Omega kindly provided a detailed explanation.

Lu Rong noted the unfamiliar name. He felt a hint of doubt about finding someone in a prison; he did not know the rules here, but on Planet Astar, only relatives could visit prisoners.

Moreover, the Omega’s change in attitude was too fast. One moment he wanted his life, the next he was willing to answer questions and even provide extra information. He knew his S-level pheromones had a slight dependency effect, but it should not have reached this level.

Before Lu Rong could figure it out, he saw the Omega reach out a hand. “Can I borrow your hand?” It was polite and formal, as if inviting him to a dance.

Lu Rong did not understand why, but he instinctively raised the hand without the bracelet. The Omega grabbed his wrist and turned it. The Omega’s thumb brushed against the skin of his wrist, just below the base of his thumb. Lu Rong felt a wave of unease, but before he could react, the Omega without hesitation plunged the instrument into Lu Rong’s wrist.
