Chapter 11 Chapter 11 The Puppy Is Always Abandoned

Wang Shu was already awake by the time he reached the room. After the heat, his Gland was gradually recovering, and his vision was slightly better, allowing him to vaguely see figures.

Secretary Chen stood by the desk, repeating the list of attending guests and the identities of important figures to Jiang Xusheng.

Wang Shu held a cup of water, sitting quietly on the sofa, sipping it.

He heard a lot about the evening’s banquet.

The main auction item today was a student artwork transported from the Shen City Art Academy, and all funds raised would be used to subsidize children’s Gland medical care.

The hotel had ironed the clothes and sent them over.

Wang Shu felt the material—it was a smooth silk suit, and the waistband of the trousers was one size larger than usual, which would be more comfortable to wear.

Jiang Xusheng went to the study to take a call.

“Secretary Chen…” Wang Shu thought for a moment, unsure what to call him. Secretary Chen was Mr. Jiang’s secretary, so calling him that seemed inappropriate. He switched to a safer address, “Brother Chen.”

“Hm?” Secretary Chen pointed to himself in disbelief, “Are you talking to me?”

“Can I also attend this banquet?” Wang Shu asked with a smile.

Although he couldn’t see, when he smiled, his eyes curved like crescent moons, and the tear mole beneath his eye gave him a unique charm.

Secretary Chen replied, “Yes, as CEO Jiang’s partner, you should naturally attend.”

A good marital status was beneficial for business.

Most successful entrepreneurs used the image of a loving spouse and a happy family atmosphere to highlight their own reliability.

The larger the enterprise, the more stable the marriage needed to be.

“I’ve only seen them on TV,” Wang Shu pursed his lips, a little excited, “Will there be those exquisite small cakes?”

“There will be,” Secretary Chen answered.

“Thank you.” Wang Shu’s smile revealed a dimple, making him look even more like a jar of sweetness.

Wang Shu picked up the suit and held it in his arms, eagerly putting on his slippers, wanting to wait for Mr. Jiang to take him to change.

As an Illegitimate Son, those high-society banquets had nothing to do with him.

However, amidst his excitement, Wang Shu felt a little worried. Would he embarrass Mr. Jiang looking like this?

He could just stay obediently by Mr. Jiang’s side, holding onto his coat hem, and wouldn’t wander off.

“He’s not going.” Jiang Xusheng returned from his call and saw Wang Shu holding the suit. “Put the clothes away.”

Wang Shu froze, his arms holding the clothes slowly relaxing. Then he looked up toward the direction of Jiang Xusheng’s voice and smiled, “Then I’ll wait for you in the room…”

    “You…”

“You don’t need to wait for me. Go to bed early. Someone will come over to look after you soon.” Jiang Xusheng rubbed his head.

Wang Shu shook his head and said it wasn’t necessary; he could stay in the room quietly by himself.

“Please go and be busy,” Wang Shu murmured.

The sensible tone hid a hint of disappointment. Secretary Chen raised an eyebrow slightly, feeling a little pity for this Young Master.

Just as the rumors said, he was a toy that CEO Jiang could discard at any time.

He was favored when free, and abandoned when busy.

Secretary Chen awkwardly shifted his gaze, remaining silent.

Jiang Xusheng told him he could call anytime if he needed anything, or order room service. Every room had a butler.

    “Okay.”

The soft suit was put away. Wang Shu didn’t even know what color it was; Mr. Jiang hadn’t told him.

After Jiang Xusheng and Secretary Chen left, he sat on the sofa, his slender neck bowed.

The thin body was illuminated by the setting sun, infinitely lonely.

Hearing the footsteps fade away from the door, Wang Shu wiped his eyes, took off his slippers, and wrapped himself tightly in a blanket.

The omega sniffled, muffling his sobs into the blanket, feeling very wronged.

He knew he shouldn’t feel wronged, but he lacked a sense of security.

He had come to a strange environment, a strange room, and then was abandoned by the person he was most familiar with.

“Baby, am I asking for too much?” Wang Shu stroked his lower abdomen, choking back a few sobs.

In the empty room, only his whispers could be heard: “I shouldn’t ask for so much, should I…”

“Right. The puppy is always abandoned.”

The elevator ascended to the top floor. When the doors opened, the glass dome allowed the sunset light to filter onto the Persian carpet. A waiter guided Jiang Xusheng into the venue.

“Handsome man alone?” Just as he entered the hall, a blonde, blue-eyed man walked over, smiling and raising a glass. “Give me some face.”

Jiang Xusheng frowned in distaste and walked around him.

    “Hey!”

“Lawyer Yan, you are dressed a bit too…” Secretary Chen looked him up and down, taking in his open-collared suit and pearl necklace. The word “flashy” was on the tip of his tongue but he managed to make it sound more subtle, “Gaudy?”

“Little Chen has a venomous tongue.” Yan Chichun clicked his tongue and shook his head, placing his wine glass casually on a waiter’s tray. “You’re engaging in personal attacks, you know. Be careful, I might sue you.”

    Secretary Chen shrugged, looking unconcerned.

“Why are you alone? Didn’t you bring Wang Shu?” Yan Chichun followed Jiang Xusheng closely.

Jiang Xusheng said, “It’s better if he doesn’t participate in this kind of event.”

“Wow—” Yan Chichun casually pulled up a chair and sat on it backward, resting his hands on the backrest, expressing admiration. “You’re not letting him witness the downfall of the Wang Family with his own eyes?”

    “He’s timid.”

The auction proceeded smoothly, with several paintings selling for high prices.

The surprising item in this charity auction was an unremarkable painting that received the highest bid. It was clearly a filler piece, titled .

    “Mr. Yan bids thirty million.”

“Xieshu Pharmaceutical’s Jiang Xusheng bids forty million. Any higher?”

Yan Chichun knew who the artist of the painting was and deliberately raised the price. When it reached ninety million, Jiang Xusheng did not raise his paddle again.

“Congratulations, Mr. Yan, ninety-eight million!” The host on stage applauded.

Yan Chichun widened his eyes and asked Jiang Xusheng, “Brother, why didn’t you bid?”

Jiang Xusheng replied, “You seemed to like it so much, I yielded.”

Secretary Chen quietly added, “The paintings CEO Jiang buys are always placed at your house… You bought it, saving him the money.”

Jiang Xusheng’s lips curved slightly, clearly indicating that Secretary Chen was right.

“Damn it!” Yan Chichun cursed under his breath, realizing his miscalculation. “When I get back, I’m throwing out all those paintings! I’ve been buying them for so many years, I even had to find a separate house to use as a gallery.”

Jiang Xusheng had started buying paintings four years ago when he prepared to enter the domestic market.

He used the pseudonym Mr. L.

After the auction concluded, the next segment involved several commercial bids. The first item was the transfer of the Wang Family’s raw material factory in Shen City.

    —

    Eleven o’clock at night.

Wang Shu had been sitting on the sofa for too long. Midway, two servers came in to ask if he needed dinner.

But the lights in the room were off, and the omega was covered with a blanket. The two assumed he was still asleep and could only set the table.

    “Is that him?”

    “Can’t see? How pitiful…”

The two servers quietly discussed. “The Wang Family is completely finished. Such a large raw material factory, one piece of negative news is enough to ruin them!”

“Isn’t it? CEO Jiang won’t even spare his family. He…”

“Shh, stop talking! He might wake up.”

The two set the tableware and left. Wang Shu sat up, fumbled around for his phone, and called Shen Xiao.

It was very late. The phone rang for a while before it was answered. Shen Xiao lowered his voice and asked where he was.

“The Wang Family’s Pheromone extraction lab has been exposed! Who uses people as raw materials for Inhibitors! The internet is going crazy over this. The news broke out just a few hours ago.”

“Xiao Shu, did you know about this?” Shen Xiao asked worriedly. “I told you Jiang Xusheng wasn’t simple. I heard from my brother that he just acquired your uncle’s company a while ago, and today he completely ruined the Wang Family’s reputation. I heard your cousins have all been arrested.”

“The internet is going wild. Your uncles won’t escape; they’ll definitely go to jail. Why didn’t Jiang Xusheng look out for you?! Did he… did he do anything to you?” Shen Xiao threw off his blanket and got out of bed. “I’ll have my brother drive me to pick you up right now.”

“No need, Xiao Xiao, I’m fine.”

“Fine? What if he treats you badly after dealing with the Wang Family!”

He was just a toy sent by his uncles to appease Jiang Xusheng. Now that his uncles had fallen, it wouldn’t be strange if he was next.

    Wang Shu pursed his lips.

Without the Wang Family, he was actually useless—a sick, blind person with no one to rely on.

In the eyes of a businessman, profit and loss are paramount.

Jiang Xusheng marrying him back then wasn’t just because he was pregnant with a baby. Now it seemed he needed to take everything from the Wang Family…

He made his uncles lower their guard and cooperate with him, ultimately turning the entire raw material factory into his property.

Wang Shu was just a little sad.

When he was little, his father used his Gland for experiments. When he grew up, his uncles used him to curry favor. He thought things would be better when he came to Mr. Jiang’s side.

But now he realized Mr. Jiang didn’t seem to like him much either…

Wang Shu hung up the phone, his eyes stinging.

‘Creak—’ He fumbled to stand up from the sofa, his calf hitting the corner of the table. Wang Shu felt a sharp pain; he wasn’t yet familiar with the room’s layout.

In the darkness, the light wasn’t as clear as during the day; he couldn’t even see a simple shadow.

Wang Shu followed his memory to the dining table. He remembered the server had boiled water for tea nearby earlier.

Mr. Jiang was very gentle when he was injured.

If he got injured again, would Mr. Jiang still care about him and coax him to eat?

Would he perhaps dote on him? Wang Shu thought nervously.

He didn’t want to be abandoned.

The water in the kettle boiled again, the gurgling steam wafting toward his face.

“Ugh.” Wang Shu bit his lip. Hot water spilled onto his arm, and the glass cup shattered. The scalding water felt like a sharp needle, the pain spreading from his veins to the top of his head.

Jiang Xusheng’s call came in. Wang Shu anxiously reached for his phone. The glass cup was broken on the floor, and he stepped on it with his bare feet. The floor was slick, covered in either scalding water or warm blood.

“Are you sleeping?” Jiang Xusheng asked.

Wang Shu sniffled, holding back a sob, and said in a muffled voice, “Yes, I’m sleeping.”

“Don’t wait for me, go to sleep.” Jiang Xusheng seemed to be playing golf. In the background, a cheerful boy was laughing, pestering another man to teach him how to swing.

    Wang Shu couldn’t see.

    But he could hear.

Jiang Xusheng’s world was so vast and wonderful, but all he had was a baby in his belly.

Even if the Wang Family hadn’t gone bankrupt, he was just an Illegitimate Son, unfit for high society, and would only embarrass Mr. Jiang.

“Okay, then please don’t work too hard. I can take care of myself.”

    “That obedient?” Jiang Xusheng chuckled.

“Yes, very obedient.” Wang Shu wiped his tears, took a few deep breaths, and stumbled to his feet. The smell of blood made the nausea surge up again.

“Wang Shu?” Jiang Xusheng called him on the phone.

But the phone suddenly fell silent, until a few muffled thuds sounded, and Wang Shu hastily hung up.

The sound was like a fall.

“Brother! Look, is my posture right? You have to praise me, praise me for being the most standard! CEO Jiang! Look how good I am?” Yu Tang held a golf club, riding on Xiao Zhengmian’s back, pestering him for praise.

Xiao Zhengmian patted his leg, telling him not to make a scene in front of outsiders. “The best.”

Yu Tang jumped off him. Xiao Zhengmian took off his glove and shook hands with Jiang Xusheng. “CEO Jiang, that was a great shot just now.”

Gazing into the distance, the entire golf course, apart from a few caddies and accompanying staff, only had a flag stuck in the direction of the hole.

Wang Qinian, who had been cursing Jiang Xusheng for marrying trash at the banquet, was now tied to a frame, with several golf balls, mixed with blood, embedded in his face nearby.

Jiang Xusheng redialed the number, and in the pause while the phone rang, he swung the club again.

A ball flew over and violently struck Wang Qinian’s head again. As blood dripped from his face, the ball rolled with a smack and finally dropped into the hole.

The sun was setting. Yan Chichun sat in a rocking chair, looking through binoculars. “Wow—” He clapped his hands. “Hole-in-one, CEO Jiang.”

Jiang Xusheng put down the club. The call wasn’t answered.

He immediately had the front desk transfer the call to the room’s internal line. Inside, there was only the sound of rushing water. Jiang Xusheng’s heart sank.

Looking up from the golf course, one could see the Dihao Tower.

“What’s wrong?” Yan Chichun asked, seeing his poor expression.

“CEO Xiao, please excuse me.” Jiang Xusheng took off his gloves. “I’ll host another day.”

Xiao Zhengmian was the executive director of the Changxing Chamber of Commerce in Hai City. The two had just signed shipping contracts for several major domestic ports.

“Go ahead.” Xiao Zhengmian was easygoing. The omega beside him was Yu Tang, a popular movie star, who now wanted to use the binoculars to see where his shot had landed.

Xiao Zhengmian didn’t let him look through the binoculars, wrapping an arm around him as they walked out.

“CEO Jiang doesn’t seem to like talking much.” Yu Tang tilted his head and glanced back. From a distance, without binoculars, it was impossible to clearly see what was tied to that frame. The golf course lights were dim late at night.

“He’s a lunatic,” Xiao Zhengmian chuckled. “I won’t bring you to see him again.”

“Why? The cake here is quite tasty.” Yu Tang pouted.

“See that guy named Yan next to him?” Xiao Zhengmian pinched his face. “He’s a lawyer who specializes in financial cases abroad, with a hundred percent success rate, and he’s even handled innocent defenses.”

    “Huh? So what?”

Xiao Zhengmian rubbed his head. “Nothing.”

Just as they were about to leave the golf course, he looked into the distance. The cross tied next to the golf hole was gone.

Just after the banquet began, news broke that the Wang Family had used live people to extract Pheromones for raw materials—the final straw that broke the camel’s back.

Wang Qinian came to the banquet hoping to secure new investment. He completely dropped his pretense at the venue, pointing at Jiang Xusheng’s nose and calling him a villain. He claimed he had sent his own nephew to Jiang Xusheng’s bed, yet Jiang Xusheng bit back, completely ruining the entire Wang Family.

Jiang Xusheng was originally a Beta, and his sudden appearance in the domestic pharmaceutical industry was already an eyesore. Many people were there to watch the show.

The Wang Family’s rarely seen Illegitimate Son was sent to his bed, and in turn, he crushed the Wang Family underfoot. Such tactics were too ruthless.

Jiang Xusheng didn’t react immediately. Instead, he took the man directly from the venue to the golf course, using a club to nearly crack his skull open.

Even the cigarette butts he had smoked were stubbed out in Wang Qinian’s mouth.

Yan Chichun squatted nearby, smiling as he slipped a business card into Wang Qinian’s pocket. “CEO Wang, I am Mr. Jiang’s lawyer. If you decide to pursue legal action, feel free to contact me.”

“I will defend him as innocent.”

Afterward, Jiang Xusheng waved his hand, and someone tied Wang Qinian to the pole and carried him next to the golf hole.

Jiang Xusheng’s golf skills were excellent. Several balls all struck Wang Qinian’s bloody face.

He did all this without even avoiding Xiao Zhengmian. When Yu Tang changed clothes and arrived, Jiang Xusheng could switch to a gentle smile and discuss cooperation with him, as if he knew Yu Tang was present and wouldn’t show a dark expression.

Wang Qinian was the biological uncle of Jiang Xusheng’s wife.

Judging by the methods used today, Wang Qinian was not far from death.

This CEO Jiang was somewhat incomprehensible.
