Chapter 31 “Ye Tingtong, I’m jealous…”

Ye Tingtong was sent to Yu Hui’s house by Shen Jun.

Before the New Year, he thought he would be with Shen Jun all the time, so he gave the driver Li a holiday. Now that he had to go out temporarily, he was too embarrassed to ask Li to come back. Fortunately, Shen Jun said he had things to do today and was going out, so it was on the way.

Along the way, Ye Tingtong was struggling about whether to introduce Shen Jun to Yu Hui.

The other two roommates didn’t know he was married. Ye Tingtong didn’t plan to mention it, after all, it was a contractual marriage.

Yu Hui and the others also didn’t know his situation. If he suddenly explained, it would feel weird and hard to explain.

Shen Jun seemed to see his hesitation, so when they arrived at Yu Hui’s house, he didn’t get out of the car but just handed him a heavy gift bag.

Ye Tingtong didn’t expect Shen Jun to have thought of this, and muttered, “I was just too busy playing…”

Shen Jun said, “It’s enough for me to remember.”

Ye Tingtong stood outside the car, looking at the person sitting in the driver’s seat. For some reason, he didn’t move for a long time.

Clearly, the wind outside was strong, and the cold wind was making his ears ache, but he who was always afraid of the cold actually felt that it was okay to stand a little longer.

Ye Tingtong didn’t realize how obvious his expression was. Shen Jun looked at his eager eyes, paused, got out of the car, took off his scarf, and put it on Ye Tingtong, “Tell me when you’re done.”

After speaking, he ruffled his soft hair and drove away.

Shen Jun’s scarf still had the warmth of its owner. Ye Tingtong immediately felt warm. It wasn’t until Shen Jun’s car disappeared around a corner that he slowly moved his feet and knocked on Yu Hui’s door.

Yu Hui had been waiting for him and immediately opened the door to welcome him in. Seeing the things Ye Tingtong was carrying, he said, “Why did you bring things?”

“It’s not for you,” Ye Tingtong said with a smile, giving the gifts to Yu Hui’s parents. “Uncle and Auntie, Happy New Year.”

Yu Hui’s parents smiled as they took the gifts, giving Ye Tingtong a New Year red envelope, “Your uncle and I are going to visit relatives today, you guys have fun at home.”

“Got it, Mom, go on!” Yu Hui couldn’t wait to pull Ye Tingtong upstairs, heading straight for the game room, “We were worried about not having a gaming partner, you’re here just in time to play.”

Ye Tingtong looks gentle, but his gaming skills are top-notch. He can quickly get the hang of any game. When playing King of Glory, Ye Tingtong can carry them to victory.

Ye Tingtong noticed that Yu Hui said “we,” and asked, “Is there someone else?”

“Yes! My cousin is also here.” Yu Hui pushed open the door, “Zhao Cheng, the expert I told you about is here.”

Inside the game room, a person was sitting on the floor, holding a game controller. Hearing Yu Hui’s words, he turned his head, revealing a young and handsome face.

Zhao Cheng was about to speak, but after seeing the person behind Yu Hui clearly, he froze in place.

Ye Tingtong had rosy lips and white teeth. Perhaps because he had just come in from the outside, his cheeks were slightly red. His pretty face was wrapped in a large scarf, making him look soft and well-behaved.

Ye Tingtong was taking off his scarf and didn’t notice Zhao Cheng’s expression.

Yu Hui saw it clearly and directly gave Zhao Cheng a tap on the head, “Are you stunned? Call him ‘bro’!”

Ye Tingtong was carefully folding Shen Jun’s scarf and putting it into his bag. He felt a little embarrassed at the words, “No need to call me ‘bro,’ just call me by my name, I’m Ye Tingtong.”

Yu Hui’s cousin didn’t look young either, tall and sturdy, at least half a head taller than him. He really couldn’t bear to have him call him ‘bro.’

Zhao Cheng quickly sat up from the floor, straightened his clothes, and didn’t forget to fluff his hair a few times before walking up to Ye Tingtong and extending his hand, “Hello, I’m Zhao Cheng, also from A University, one year below you and my cousin, we can play together in the future!”

He stared at Ye Tingtong, his eyes shining, and with a grin on his face, he looked polite and enthusiastic.

Ye Tingtong shook his hand and smiled, “Nice to meet you, Zhao Cheng.”

That faint smile made Ye Tingtong’s well-behaved face instantly become bright. Zhao Cheng’s heart thumped a few times.

He thought he might be in love.

After that, the three of them started playing games. Ye Tingtong didn’t feel much, only that Yu Hui’s cousin was quite nice, letting him take the blue and red buffs, since he mainly played marksman, which had high output. Getting these buffs would maximize his damage.

The three of them cooperated well, and Zhao Cheng’s level wasn’t bad either. He was even more enthusiastic towards him than Yu Hui, bringing him tea and water, and even peeling oranges for him, which made Ye Tingtong feel flattered. “If you want me to carry you, we can just add each other as friends, there’s no need for this.”

No one had ever peeled oranges for him before. This feeling was very strange, and besides, he liked to peel off the orange peel and the white threads bit by bit, enjoying the sense of accomplishment of getting a round and clean orange. He didn’t like Zhao Cheng’s way of doing it.

Zhao Cheng’s hand paused as he was peeling the orange. He coughed, “It’s not entirely for the game…”

    Should he just confess?

Just as he was hesitating, Yu Hui rudely took the orange he had peeled, “Zhao Cheng, I advise you to take it easy! Don’t scare our Tongzai.”

He had finally managed to invite Ye Tingtong over as a guest, but he didn’t expect Zhao Cheng to be such a crazy love brain. If he scared him away, he would be the first to not spare Zhao Cheng.

Zhao Cheng calmed down, also feeling that confessing now was a bit too fast, so he suppressed his thoughts.

The day passed quickly. Besides playing games, Ye Tingtong discovered that Yu Hui’s family also had a Samoyed, a white fluffy ball that was round and super cute.

He went out with Yu Hui to walk it around. The Samoyed made a burst of energy, almost pulling him off his feet, completely extinguishing his desire to own a dog.

“Hahaha, dogs are more energetic. Didn’t you often feed stray cats at school before? It seems you prefer cats.” Yu Hui held the Samoyed’s leash, “You can get one, Zhao Cheng’s family raises cats, you can ask him if you don’t know anything.”

Zhao Cheng gave Yu Hui a grateful look. A great kindness doesn’t require words of thanks. He took the opportunity to walk up to Ye Tingtong, “Do you want to get a cat? I have a very good relationship with a pet shop. They have many kinds of cats. If you need, I can help you introduce them and get you a discount.”

Ye Tingtong was a little tempted, but he shook his head and refused, “Not for the time being.”

He didn’t have his own place yet, and cats weren’t allowed in the dorm. He was already satisfied with just occasionally feeding the little stray cats.

Zhao Cheng didn’t expect him to refuse. He was stunned for a moment, but he quickly reacted, “If you want to pet a cat, you can come to my house too. We have a Maine Coon, super large, especially handsome. Let me show you the pictures.”

A few photos instantly closed the distance between the two of them. Ye Tingtong looked at the handsome cats in the photos. It would be a lie to say he wasn’t envious.

When Shen Jun came to pick him up, what he saw was Ye Tingtong and a young university student looking at a phone side by side.

He watched for a full five minutes. It was Yu Hui who noticed him first. After all, the car parked in front of his house was low-key and expensive, obviously not from this area.

“Tongzai, is that someone coming to pick you up?” Yu Hui knew that Ye Tingtong and Shen Minghuai’s family were wealthy, so he wasn’t too surprised to see a luxury car.

Ye Tingtong looked up, saw the familiar car, and the person standing by the car. He no longer cared about the handsome Maine Coon. A smile naturally appeared on his face as he ran up to the person, his voice slightly panting, “Why did you come so fast!”

He thought Shen Jun would have his driver come to pick him up.

Shen Jun looked at his surprised eyes, reached out, took away the white fur on his scarf, and pulled it up a little more, covering his ears, which had been reddened by the wind, “I finished my work and came over when I heard from you.”

Ye Tingtong’s eyes curved happily, “Then I’ll go get my bag, and we can go home.”

He had agreed with Yu Hui that he would go back after walking the Samoyed, so this was perfect timing.

Yu Hui went inside with Ye Tingtong. Zhao Cheng stood at the door, hesitantly looking at the handsome and cold man in front of the car.

Just a moment ago, he was looking through his album for a video of the Maine Coon doing somersaults to make him happy. When he looked up, the person beside him was gone. Ye Tingtong, like a happy little bird, had run to this person, his eyes and brows filled with a smile, which was completely different from the polite smile he had shown him when they first met.

The current Ye Tingtong was vibrant and alive.

The two looked at each other. Zhao Cheng’s mood was complex and wary. Shen Jun’s expression was indifferent, and he didn’t take the initiative to say hello.

Ye Tingtong was quick. In less than two minutes, he came out with his bag. He smiled and waved to Yu Hui and Zhao Cheng, “I’m going back now! Bye-bye!”

After he left, Yu Hui tightly held onto the Samoyed, who was trying to chase after the car, not knowing whether to laugh or cry, “Why does it feel like Tongzai is so happy to be leaving?”

This kid should have at least tried to hide it a little!

Ye Tingtong didn’t know why he was so happy. The moment he saw Shen Jun, he couldn’t help but smile, and even hummed a song happily in the car.

Shen Jun clearly felt Ye Tingtong’s pleasant mood. His eyes flickered, and he asked, “I saw a new face just now, was he your roommate’s relative?”

“Yes.” Ye Tingtong nodded, “He’s Yu Hui’s cousin, also studying at A University. He’s quite nice.”

“His family has a Maine Coon, super good-looking.”

Shen Jun turned his head to look at him, “More good-looking than Xue Gao?”

“Of course not.” Ye Tingtong answered without hesitation, “Xue Gao is the most good-looking.”

Beautiful and well-behaved, who wouldn’t like Xue Gao. He was just a little envious of Zhao Cheng.

The two quickly returned to their residence at Taizi Bay. Shen Jun, who had been walking in front, suddenly stopped, “You open the door.”

Despite his confusion, Ye Tingtong obediently entered his fingerprint. The door clicked open. He pushed the door open and had just stepped one foot in when a white ball of fur collided with his leg like a little missile.

Ye Tingtong lowered his head, looking at the Ragdoll cat clinging to his pant leg, his eyes wide open, “Xue Gao?”

Wasn’t Xue Gao at the Shen family’s old house?

Had he seen so many cats and dogs today that he was hallucinating?

Despite thinking it was unreal, Ye Tingtong still picked up Xue Gao immediately and looked at the person behind him, his lips moved, and he blurted out, “Shen Jun, do you know magic?”

Otherwise, how could he explain that just after mentioning Xue Gao to Shen Jun, Xue Gao appeared.

Shen Jun didn’t expect Ye Tingtong’s first reaction to be this. He ruffled his head, “I had already planned to bring Xue Gao back today.”

Ye Tingtong obediently lowered his head to make it easier for Shen Jun to ruffle his hair and asked softly, “But isn’t this your mother’s cat?”

“I exchanged something for it.” Shen Jun looked at the two people, a man and a cat, snuggling together, his voice steady, “She doesn’t care about Xue Gao either, so she gave it to me easily.”

The jadeite that was auctioned last night was for this purpose.

Ye Tingtong touched the soft fur on Xue Gao’s body, listening to its purring, unsure how to describe his current mood, “Did you bring Xue Gao back to keep me company?”

When he left the Shen family before, he looked everywhere for Xue Gao but couldn’t find him. Shen Jun had seen it all, which is why he brought Xue Gao back.

Shen Jun didn’t talk much, but he always managed to touch him with small details.

“Consider it a New Year gift,” Shen Jun said, “You don’t need to envy others anymore.”

Ye Tingtong nodded heavily and started patrolling with Xue Gao in his arms. Eventually, he decided to put Xue Gao’s nest in his bedroom.

Shen Jun liked quiet, and he was afraid that the cat would make noise and bother Shen Jun, making him dislike it.

After he got tired of holding it, Ye Tingtong put the cat down. Xue Gao also began to sniff around to get used to the new environment. Ye Tingtong followed behind it like a nanny.

“This is the study. If you don’t chew on the wires, you can occasionally come in to play.”

“This is Shen Daddy’s bedroom, you can’t go in.”

“You can’t go in the kitchen either, it’s full of smoke.”

Ye Tingtong didn’t care whether Xue Gao understood or not. He kept talking to it.

Shen Jun watched them making a ruckus there. In the middle, he handed Ye Tingtong a glass of water, “Do you want to give it a new name?”

“No need.” Ye Tingtong tilted his head back and finished the water in one gulp, his tone serious, “The old Xue Gao was still Xue Gao!”

Shen Jun looked at his firm gaze and a gentle smile appeared on his face, “You’re right.”

From then on, there was a new member in the family. However, there was only the necessary cat food and litter. There were no toys or snacks. Xue Gao was also a gluttonous and active cat. It often surrounded Ye Tingtong while he was eating, meowing, and several times, it even stuck its head into his bowl.

Ye Tingtong looked at the beautiful cat in front of him, whining and acting cute, and decided to start shopping online.

Fortunately, he had made some money from his part-time job, so he could afford these expenses.

It was the New Year, and many things online couldn’t be delivered on time, so Ye Tingtong asked Zhao Cheng for help.

Zhao Cheng was pleasantly surprised when he received Ye Tingtong’s message. He immediately shared his cat-raising experiences with him and also contacted a pet store he was familiar with, sending Ye Tingtong snacks and toys, etc.

One day, Shen Jun came home from a social engagement and found a pile of unopened packages at home, while Ye Tingtong was on a video call.

“How big is that cat tree? Do you think it’s suitable to put it on the balcony?”

The heating in the house was on high. Ye Tingtong was only wearing thin pajamas. The neckline was crooked, revealing half of his delicate collarbone. His hair was also messy, as if he had just woken up, looking confused and innocent.

A young man’s voice quickly came from the phone, “Your balcony is big, the cat tree can fit there easily, and Xue Gao can also get some sun on it.”

“But this cat tree is quite difficult to assemble, do you need my help?” Zhao Cheng said with a smile, “I can provide on-site installation service~”

Ye Tingtong didn’t think he was useless to that extent. Just as he was about to refuse, he found that Shen Jun had returned at some point and was examining the huge cat tree package.

The camera shook. The sharp-eyed Zhao Cheng immediately noticed another person in Ye Tingtong’s house. Just as he was about to speak, Ye Tingtong was even faster, “Thank you! I’ll hang up now!”

After hanging up the phone, the first thing Ye Tingtong did was to stop Shen Jun, “The wooden boards have burrs, don’t let them hurt you!”

Ye Tingtong took all the packages into his arms, trying his best to restore the living room to its previous tidy state, “I’ll clean up quickly, I promise it won’t take up space.”

Having spent so much time together, Ye Tingtong was already able to read some emotions from Shen Jun’s expressionless face. Like now, although the other person seemed normal as always, he still sensitively noticed that Shen Jun was not happy.

He was afraid that Shen Jun disliked him for messing up the house. Some of the trinkets were bought from PDD and seemed out of place with the luxurious decor here.

Just as Ye Tingtong was frantically cleaning up, Shen Jun took the largest and heaviest cat tree from his hands, “I don’t think these things are in the way.”

“This is your home too, you can arrange it as you please.”

Ye Tingtong was stunned for a moment. The packages in his arms fell to the ground with a thud. He hesitated for a moment and then cautiously spoke, “Then why are you angry?”

Ye Tingtong’s phone, which was placed on the coffee table, would occasionally beep. The call was hung up so suddenly that Zhao Cheng was bombarding Ye Tingtong with messages.

    The latest one was—

[You said you’d treat me to a meal before, you can’t go back on your word!]

This message stayed lit up for a long time before the screen went dark.

Inopportunely, Ye Tingtong remembered that when he had just met Shen Jun, he had also said he would treat Shen Jun to a meal. He explained, “Many things couldn’t be bought online, so I asked Zhao Cheng for help. He helped me a lot, and I just casually said I’d treat him to a meal.”

He had planned to go to the school cafeteria for a meal with a cup of milk tea, but Zhao Cheng’s message seemed to have taken that meal seriously.

The air pressure around the other person dropped a few more degrees. Ye Tingtong pretended to be cleaning up the packages, but his heart was pounding so fast that it was about to jump out of his chest.

When Shen Jun had picked him up at Yu Hui’s house before, he had asked about Zhao Cheng in the same way, with a hint of obvious concern.

However, wasn’t Shen Jun supposed to not restrict his normal social interactions?

Whenever Ye Tingtong felt nervous, he liked to look down and pretend to be doing other things. The package bags by his hand were torn to shreds. Bits of plastic fell everywhere, but Ye Tingtong was unaware of it, his fingers twisting together nervously and helplessly.

He knew Shen Jun was looking at him.

“I’m not angry.” Shen Jun reached out, straightened Ye Tingtong’s crooked collar, his voice soft,

    “Ye Tingtong, I’m jealous.”
