Chapter Index

Ye Qingyun watched Gu Shenyuan walk toward him step by step. His expression remained calm, but a blazing fire was hidden deep in his eyes, revealing his true inner emotions.

Gu Shenyuan had taken the bait.

The ease with which he succeeded made Ye Qingyun feel complicated. Clearly, Gu Shenyuan was completely unguarded around him and truly loved him, which was why his emotions were so easily provoked.

Gu Shenyuan walked to the bedside and sat down, silently taking hold of Ye Qingyun’s hand, which was resting casually on the blanket.

Ye Qingyun allowed Gu Shenyuan to hold his hand and asked softly, “Do you still want to massage today?”

    Gu Shenyuan nodded.

According to the instructions, it should be done daily; otherwise, being inconsistent would not yield good results.

Moreover… he enjoyed massaging Ye Qingyun. He liked hearing the sounds Ye Qingyun made in response to his movements, he liked the moist and hazy look in Ye Qingyun’s eyes when he looked at him, and he liked Ye Qingyun’s flushed cheeks.

Whether out of self-interest or genuine concern, he wanted to continue this care without fail.

Ye Qingyun pulled his hand out of Gu Shenyuan’s palm, then grabbed Gu Shenyuan’s wrist, lifting his hand and placing it on the area of his upper body that had been massaged for several days.

“Do you think it’s working?” Ye Qingyun asked faintly.

Gu Shenyuan’s fingertip touched a spot he had focused on. He instinctively pressed it, and Ye Qingyun shivered slightly in response.

Gu Shenyuan’s gaze deepened. He whispered, “Yes.”

Ye Qingyun almost felt mortified by his own actions, yet he forced himself to say the lines he had prepared, determined to finish the act.

Ye Qingyun glared at Gu Shenyuan and said angrily, “It’s all swollen, so of course it’s working!”

Gu Shenyuan accepted Ye Qingyun’s glare without changing his expression: “It’s not swollen. I’ve been careful with the pressure afterward.”

“I say it is, so it is. I feel swollen,” Ye Qingyun insisted. “I don’t care, I’m taking a rest day today.”

Gu Shenyuan felt helpless. He had offered to apply medicine to Ye Qingyun the first time, but Ye Qingyun had stubbornly insisted he was fine. Now he was finally admitting it.

However, he hadn’t lost control like the first time; the pressure should have been appropriate. Why was it still hurting? Was he too delicate?

Gu Shenyuan wanted to get up and fetch medicine for Ye Qingyun, but Ye Qingyun pulled him back.

“I don’t need medicine. Do you think I’m that fragile? A day of rest and it will recover on its own!” Ye Qingyun refused to let Gu Shenyuan leave. He wrapped one arm around Gu Shenyuan’s neck, leaned in, and blew air against Gu Shenyuan’s earlobe. “You want to leave already? You’ve been doing things to me for so many days, isn’t it time it was my turn?”

Hearing this, Gu Shenyuan understood what Ye Qingyun intended to do.

He must have felt humiliated and unconvinced after being treated that way, so he wanted to play a trick in return.

“Whatever makes you happy,” Gu Shenyuan said helplessly.

Ye Qingyun’s plan had succeeded, and while he was happy, he also felt a wave of shame.

According to the plan, he was going to drain Gu Shenyuan today, and then feed him the Antidote disguised as a stamina potion.

To ensure Gu Shenyuan cooperated, he had even learned a line that made him feel like dying of embarrassment on the spot.

Under normal circumstances, he would never say such a thing, but the situation was special now. No matter how shameful, he had to discard his pride.

“It sounds nice when you agree, but what’s the reality?” Ye Qingyun gently took hold of Gu Shenyuan. “Can you really satisfy me?”

Gu Shenyuan narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze turning dangerous.

Ye Qingyun continued to fan the flames: “Last time when I helped you, I felt you were a bit too fast… Shouldn’t you prove yourself?”

In reality, the last time was the first time he had helped Gu Shenyuan with that, and he completely understood that Gu Shenyuan was excited and finished quickly. But Ye Qingyun deliberately chose to provoke Gu Shenyuan and ignite his competitive spirit.

Gu Shenyuan grabbed Ye Qingyun’s hand, stopping him from moving further, his eyes dangerous: “Don’t be ridiculous. Don’t you know what state your body is in?”

“That’s where you’re wrong,” Ye Qingyun looked up at Gu Shenyuan. His warm eyes looked like solidified honey under the dim yellow light. “Even if we can’t go all the way, you can still… I can help you with other places…”

Ye Qingyun leaned close to Gu Shenyuan’s ear and whispered a few words. After speaking, he gently nipped Gu Shenyuan’s pale earlobe. He distinctly felt Gu Shenyuan’s body stiffen, as if he was restraining himself, yet also on the verge of eruption.

“Doing this won’t hurt me,” Ye Qingyun kissed the corner of Gu Shenyuan’s mouth, looking at him affectionately, his eyes shining with anticipation. “Come on, let’s try it. I’ve wanted to play with you for a long time.”

After Ye Qingyun finished speaking, he heard a sigh escape Gu Shenyuan.

The sigh was soothing. Gu Shenyuan’s body was no longer tense, as if the string of rationality that had been taut had finally snapped.

Ye Qingyun heard Gu Shenyuan say in a husky voice, “I will satisfy you.”

Ye Qingyun’s heart leaped with joy, and he smiled as he stroked Gu Shenyuan’s face.

With this, the plan was halfway successful!

The remaining steps were not difficult. He was sure he could suc—

A sharp alarm suddenly blared. Outside the window, the dark sky was filled with dense red lights—the lights of several flying ships passing by.

The intimate atmosphere was instantly shattered. Gu Shenyuan wrapped Ye Qingyun in his clothes, then waved his hand, and all the curtains in the house were drawn, preventing the outside world from peeking into the room.

Gu Shenyuan closed his eyes and sensed for a moment, his face darkening: “A lot of people have come.”

The flying ships were far away, and that fleeting glimpse didn’t allow Ye Qingyun to know their destination, but a feeling of unease still surged in his heart.

Theoretically, the Royal Family shouldn’t have found them so quickly, but what if it really was the Royal Family looking for them? He hadn’t fully researched the Ability Inhibitor yet, nor had he found the most perfect method. Safety first—they should try to sneak away.

Ye Qingyun tugged at Gu Shenyuan’s sleeve, wanting to share his thoughts, but he heard Gu Shenyuan speak with a grim expression, a faint killing intent radiating from him.

“Calm down!” Ye Qingyun advised. “I know you’re always bothered by them and you dislike them, but getting angry won’t help. Let’s bide our time, figure out the enemy’s details, and then deal with them. That way we can minimize casualties, okay? I want both of us to live well!”

Gu Shenyuan gripped Ye Qingyun’s hand, the killing intent on his body gradually receding: “I’ll listen to you.”

Ye Qingyun’s original plan was to use the disruptor to hide himself and Gu Shenyuan as much as possible, then leave this place, and only declare war on the enemy after making all preparations.

However, when Ye Qingyun ran to the area where the various equipment was stored, he found that all the high-tech instruments were in a state of chaos. He couldn’t even send a single message. Only one monitor was still stubbornly operating.

Ye Qingyun was stunned, then quickly realized that the abnormality of these instruments must be due to something disrupting them.

Ye Qingyun had heard of something that could do this—rendering all defensive technology useless—but that item should be in the military, strictly guarded, and couldn’t be used without the Emperor’s and General’s permission. How could it appear here?

…Unless the people who came were not only from the Royal Family but also from the military.

The flying ships in the distance began to descend. Ye Qingyun heard the roar of these large mechanical objects, loud enough to wake a sleeping person.

Through the monitor, Ye Qingyun saw people jumping down from the flying ships. They dispersed and began heading toward the nearest houses, knocking loudly on the doors.

“Who is it!” The owner of one house angrily cursed from behind the door. “I’m telling you, trespassing is illegal! Be careful, I’ll report you!”

But his warning clearly had no effect. After the person knocking finished speaking, they touched the door with an object, and the door opened immediately.

“Please cooperate,” the soldier who entered the residence said coldly. “We are hunting a high-profile fugitive and suspect he is hiding in one of the houses. Please cooperate with our work to avoid accidental injury.”

“Fugitive? I don’t have any fugitive here,” the man said, though he no longer dared to be so arrogant, allowing the soldier to check his house.

Ye Qingyun couldn’t see what happened inside the house, nor was it of much reference value. He was about to switch the monitoring target when he heard the sound of knocking again.

—This time, it was their door being knocked on.

“Open the door! I haven’t inspected this house!” the person standing at the door shouted. “I will count to three. If you don’t open the door, I will legally force entry!”

Ye Qingyun gripped Gu Shenyuan’s hand. Facing this situation, he still felt somewhat nervous.

“Don’t be afraid. I’m here. I won’t let anything happen to you,” Gu Shenyuan comforted him softly. “You stay here. I’ll be right back.”

“No, I’m going with you!” Ye Qingyun fiercely refused.

What if the moment Gu Shenyuan stepped out, he ran into the weapon specifically designed to deal with him and was caught off guard and killed?

He had to go with him. If any accident occurred, he could still take a blow for Gu Shenyuan.

Gu Shenyuan tacitly allowed Ye Qingyun to follow him. He shielded Ye Qingyun behind him and walked toward the main door.

The soldier standing at the door was clearly impatient and tried to force the door open. Unexpectedly, the tool he used specifically for opening doors was immediately corroded and melted the moment it touched the door, which showed no sign of opening.

    Something is wrong!

This thought flashed through the soldier’s mind. He retreated a few steps, wanting to leave, reach a safe place, and then report this strange incident to his superior.

However, before he could run two steps, he felt a sharp pain in his neck, and then knew nothing more.

Ye Qingyun stood behind, watching Gu Shenyuan swiftly deal with a small soldier. He took a deep breath, crouched down, and picked up the contents of the bag the soldier was carrying.

One of the items looked familiar. Ye Qingyun fiddled with it for a moment and confirmed it was a miniature version of the monitoring device hung high above various planets, used to locate and monitor Gu Shenyuan. This specific device was mainly used to confirm whether he and Gu Shenyuan were the people they were looking for.

Ye Qingyun rummaged further and found a completely black, terminal-like object.

Ye Qingyun pressed it, and the screen lit up, displaying a line of text—

Holder Death Report Sent. Special circumstances, superior notified immediately for handling!

    The text changed again.

—Beep! General has received the report and is rushing over!
