    Chapter 4 1.3 Troublemaking Options.

The options flashed by much faster than Gou Xue expected. The moment the prison guard in front of him turned around, Gou Xue knew things were bad: Uncle, your mother’s—! Are you looking for a beating?!

    Gou Xue: …

With a strong will to live and never losing heart, Gou Xue lunged toward the guard and said tremulously, Police officer, someone is hitting me!

You think this is still kindergarten? Running to the teacher to tattle? The guard suddenly whipped out a baton, scaring Gou Xue into instantly dodging backward.

Get in line and run! If you try any more tricks, you’ll see what’s coming!

    But…

But my ass! You think you’re here on vacation? Get over there and line up!

The nearby prisoners glanced at Gou Xue; some sneered, while others remained indifferent. Gou Xue could hear some people discussing in low voices: A newcomer?

Came in a month ago, in Raptor’s cell.

Didn’t they say he was quite well-behaved last month?

    Guess he’s stopped being honest…

Hearing this, a wave of revulsion surged within Gou Xue. He had already been here a month ago; it felt as if there were another version of himself. This chill made Gou Xue immediately rush back upstairs, no longer caring about the big man who might be chasing him.

The bathroom was still overcrowded, with only a palm-sized mirror above each faucet. Several mirrors were shattered. Gou Xue managed to see his reflection through a broken mirror behind a skinny man. Seeing someone peeking behind him and realizing it was a newcomer, the skinny man immediately threw a punch backward: What the hell are you looking at? Want to be the prison flower?

Gou Xue didn’t listen to him. He only felt a huge sense of relief. The person in the mirror was still him, just without glasses. He looked tall and thin, missing the fat from the fat otaku he was in reality. It made sense; in a place like prison, you needed strength to stay fat.

As soon as Gou Xue felt relieved, he looked up and saw the death stare of the big man from the upper bunk. Cold sweat poured down instantly. The big man shoved aside the people next to him with both hands, squeezed through the crowd, and walked toward Gou Xue step by step.

    Try running faster—

Gou Xue kept backing away. Just then, the prison guard suddenly blew a sharp whistle: Everyone get the fuck in line!!—

The big man’s nose was already right in front of Gou Xue’s eyes. Gou Xue’s cold sweat was like the Huangguoshu Waterfall, soaking his back. The big man gave him a fierce look: I’ll deal with you when we get back.

Gou Xue’s heartbeat gradually slowed down from its high frequency as the distance between him and the big man increased. The skinny guy from before looked at him and said, Wouldn’t it be better to be honest in front of Raptor? Why do you have to gamble with your life?

Gou Xue, however, began to have an incredibly panicked doubt about his skill. When the big man approached him just now, he hadn’t performed a systematic dodge at all. What exactly were the criteria for this dodge skill?!

You, hit me once. Gou Xue grabbed the skinny guy.

The skinny guy furrowed his brows: Huh?

Hit me once! Gou Xue said anxiously as he watched the crowd swarming down to line up.

The skinny guy didn’t hold back and swung a palm at him: Hit your mother’s—!

Gou Xue’s body flashed backward, accurately dodging the skinny guy’s slap. A look of astonishment appeared on the skinny guy’s face: Fuck, you asked me to hit you and then you dodged?! As he spoke, he threw two more punches in succession.

Gou Xue avoided the skinny guy’s fists again, twice in a row, as fast as a peerless master.

The skinny guy’s mouth opened wide enough to fit a durian.

Gou Xue said, Try hitting me at slow speed.

What… what the hell are you doing?

Gou Xue’s confidence in his dodge skill was reignited: Just hit me! Don’t be scared! Just go for it!

Before the skinny guy could move, a large hand suddenly reached out from the side and lightly brushed against him. The force was almost like a caress as it cupped half of Gou Xue’s cheek and even gave it a squeeze.

The skinny guy quickly withdrew his hand, let out a couple of laughs, glanced between Gou Xue and the man, and quickly fled the scene.

Gou Xue, feeling a jolt of electricity run through his body, turned around. Only a few words appeared in his mind: Be the most lit lad on the block!

The man was dressed no differently from the other prisoners, but he made the short-sleeved prison uniform look cool and stylish. A large green dragon was tattooed on his exposed left arm; that was the hand that had squeezed Gou Xue’s face.

The man glanced at Gou Xue as if he were just passing by and doing a good deed like Lei Feng giving up a seat for the elderly or children, then left without looking back.

Gou Xue instinctively felt that the person he had seen earlier, whose whole body was pixelated, was this man! And the author must have chosen some familiar-looking option!

Then Gou Xue quickly realized that his skill was a damage-evasion skill. If the other party didn’t cause him harm, the effect would be as seen above.

Number 662! Number 662!—The one standing there dazed!

Gou Xue jolted, his legs scrambling as he quickly joined the line. While lining up, he didn’t forget to call out: Book! Book!

A flash of white light appeared, and the little book manifested in front of him.

Character background. What is my character background? Who exactly was the person before I transmigrated? Why does he look exactly like me?

After a long while, a line of text appeared on the book: No permission to view this content yet.

Gou Xue’s heart skipped a beat.

Then what about mission hints? Are there no mission hints at all?! I’m flying blind here! Gou Xue poked his head around as he squeezed into the line, gaining a whole new understanding of his ability to adapt to his environment.

Two lines of text slowly appeared on the book:

    Mission Hints

    A. Approach the prison guard

    B. Seek refuge with Raptor

    C. Investigate the prison

    D. Break the law and discipline

Gou Xue: …Author, do you intentionally include some options just to cause trouble every time!
