    Chapter 7 Add a Friend

This was the first time Guān Suī had ever been told to shut up.

If it were anyone else, they would have been thrown out long ago, but the person before him was Wēn Sòng.

“What have you decided about the matter I mentioned just now?” Guān Suī asked.

Wēn Sòng remained silent upon hearing the question, offering no reply.

Guān Suī was not anxious and waited patiently.

The two sides remained in a stalemate for about five minutes.

In the end, Guān Suī, worried that his intentions were too obvious and that he was pushing the other person too hard, proactively offered a way out. “You can take your time to consider it. This deal will be valid for one month.”

Wēn Sòng lowered his eyes and nodded.

    “Alright.”

The Beta before him looked very docile and honest, with a tuft of hair sticking up on the top of his head, giving him a bewildered look.

His skin was a cool white, and there was a tiny mole on the left side of his nose, adding a touch of aloofness.

Beneath his long, thick eyelashes were a pair of extremely clear eyes, unlike the usual Omega’s, which evoked a desire for protection, yet they held an ultimate allure.

Guān Suī felt his heart being lightly tickled by a feather.

All the scenes from the surging heatwave of last night flashed through his mind.

He prided himself on not being a lustful Alpha, and for all these years, he had managed his Rut Period by injecting Suppressants.

    But—

If conditions allowed, he hoped to do it again.

Seeing Wēn Sòng’s guarded expression, he chose to set aside the fleeting desire in his heart.

There would be plenty of time in the future.

    No need to rush now.

Wēn Sòng watched as Guān Suī retrieved a paper bag from somewhere else and placed it on the bed. Judging by the logo, it likely contained clothes. Both of them had been in a daze last night, and the clothes they had taken off were now in a truly unsightly state.

“The clothes are new, bought in your size.”

“Inside, there is Pheromone Freshener and a neck patch. You can take care of things.”

“I’ll change in the bathroom and then leave.”

After saying this, Guān Suī took out his phone from the bedside table, opened the WeChat scan-to-add-friend interface, and handed it to Wēn Sòng.

    “Add me as a friend.”

Wēn Sòng knew he had no right to refuse.

He fumbled for his phone under the pillow.

He noticed several missed calls, all from Zhào Míngzhuó.

Wēn Sòng chose to ignore them for now and scanned the code to add Guān Suī as a WeChat friend.

Guān Suī’s username was simple, just “S,” and his profile picture was a very cute Maltese wearing a bow tie.

The profile picture was in stark contrast to his personality.

It was hard to imagine that a cold, sharp-tongued Alpha like Guān Suī would use such a cute profile picture privately.

He sent the friend request, and it was accepted shortly after.

Wēn Sòng did not change the contact’s name.

“Contact me when you’ve made up your mind.” Guān Suī put his phone away, grabbed his clothes, and turned to go to the bathroom.

It took him less than ten minutes to change and leave.

During that time, while changing, he also injected a Suppressant to get through the remainder of his Rut Period.

Once the person left, Wēn Sòng’s tense body and emotions finally relaxed.

    He was too tired.

Guān Suī’s aura was different from other Alphas.

It was clear that he was not someone to be trifled with.

His original intention was to stay far away from him, but he unexpectedly drank a spiked beverage and delivered himself right into the tiger’s den.

Wēn Sòng didn’t know if this was a good thing or a bad thing.

“Forget it,” he muttered, supporting his head, deciding to think about it properly after leaving this place.

As he stood up, a soreness spread through his limbs, and his calves felt weak.

Wēn Sòng wobbled in his slippers, supporting himself on the edge of the bed. He turned his head and accidentally caught sight of the knotted rubber products in the trash can. He focused and counted carefully, “1, 2, 3… 6 of them.”

An Alpha in the Rut Period was truly terrifying.

His waist was genuinely about to break.

Why was an Alpha’s energy so boundless?

Wēn Sòng averted his gaze, picked up the paper bag, and decided he should hurry up and change clothes to leave.

The Pheromone in this room was simply too strong.

It was over half an hour later when he finally left the room.

Wēn Sòng’s walking posture looked a little awkward, but if one didn’t look closely, they wouldn’t notice anything.

After getting into the car for his routine weekend trip back to the Wēn family, he finally called Zhào Míngzhuó.

    “Beep beep beep—”

The ringing lasted about a dozen times before the other side finally answered.

“Hello, Xiǎo Sòng!” Zhào Míngzhuó’s voice came through. “Why haven’t you been answering my calls?”

Wēn Sòng cleared his throat and said, “I’m here. Sorry, my phone was on silent, and I didn’t hear it. I had something to deal with this morning, so I went to the company to handle some work. I didn’t have time to message you when I left. I just finished up and am heading back to the Wēn family now.”

He used to be bad at lying, but since coming to Suicheng, he learned that besides being cautious with his words and actions, he needed to speak half-truths.

Besides, he knew Zhào Míngzhuó hadn’t returned to the room last night because he was definitely looking for some Omega.

Zhào Míngzhuó seemed relieved. “As long as you’re okay. I thought you had disappeared right under my nose, and I was worried you were feeling unwell and forcing yourself to go to the hospital without telling me.”

Wēn Sòng: “No, I’m fine. I felt better after a night’s sleep.”

    Zhào Míngzhuó: “That’s good then.”

Wēn Sòng was about to end the call when he heard Zhào Míngzhuó suddenly ask, “Oh, right, when you went to rest last night, did you see Guān Suī with anyone else?”

There was a hint of probing in his tone.

Though Wēn Sòng didn’t know what he was probing for.

Wēn Sòng’s fingers, resting on his thigh, curled up. “I didn’t see anyone.”

Zhào Míngzhuó didn’t press further, just reminded him not to hold back if he felt unwell, and then mentioned that he missed the noodles Wēn Sòng made.

He asked if Wēn Sòng could come to Silver Lake Mansion and cook for him in a couple of days when he wasn’t busy.

“Of course.” Wēn Sòng naturally wouldn’t refuse.

Their mode of interaction had always been like this.

    They didn’t live together.

But Zhào Míngzhuó would often seek him out.

Occasionally, he would ask Wēn Sòng to keep him company, cook a meal, or go on a date. Other than that, there were no overly intimate gestures or actions.

The most intimate physical contact between them was probably a hug.

After hanging up the phone, the car happened to stop at the entrance of the Wēn family villa.

He thanked the driver, opened the door, and stepped out, walking step by step toward the interior.

If he could, Wēn Sòng didn’t want to return to the Wēn family.

But Old Master Wēn had said that if he lived outside, he must return home every weekend for a family dinner; otherwise, he would be forced to live at home and not allowed to leave. As he aged, the old man yearned for family unity, even insisting that the grandson who had been lost outside must Acknowledge Ancestry.

Someone from the Wēn family had come to find Wēn Sòng when he was still in high school.

    He had refused then.

His return later was out of necessity.

The moment Wēn Sòng stepped into the living room, he heard a sarcastic voice.

“Oh, look who’s back, our Young Master Wēn.”

The four characters ‘Young Master Wēn’ were heavily emphasized, dripping with mockery.

Wēn Sòng calmly lifted his eyes and saw the Omega sitting on the sofa playing with his phone.

    —Wēn Xǔ.

He was three years younger than Wēn Sòng and was the Omega who had grown up receiving all the family’s affection.

Before Wēn Sòng returned, he was the most favored grandson of the Wēn family.
