    Chapter 6: Shura Field

As for Wēn Sòng, he remained completely unfazed from beginning to end. He must have known the door was locked from the inside. The reason he hadn’t warned him was definitely due to the Alpha’s malicious pleasure, wanting to see Wēn Sòng’s flustered side.

    Adultery.

    That’s what made it interesting.

In any case, Guān Suī wasn’t afraid of falling out with Zhào Míngzhuó at all.

Wēn Sòng, however, believed he was just an ordinary Beta, and it was highly unlikely that two Top-Tier Alpha Young Masters, both high-status figures in Suicheng, would argue over him.

The Alpha before him was an untethered, vicious dog.

    Uncontrolled.

    Ungovernable.

The person he least wanted to provoke was the one he had accidentally slept with last night.

Wēn Sòng heard Zhào Míngzhuó still knocking and calling Guān Suī, “Ā Suī, are you up? Did you see Wēn Sòng last night—?”

    “”

Guān Suī frowned, annoyed by the noise. He took two steps before Wēn Sòng stopped him.

    “Wait a moment.”

Guān Suī tilted his head, gazing at him, seemingly asking silently, “What is it?”

Wēn Sòng didn’t know what was appropriate to say.

After quickly muttering “It’s nothing,” he immediately buried himself under the covers, playing dead to avoid Zhào Míngzhuó outside.

Although they were only in a “cooperative relationship,” they were still publicly known as a couple. If news of him hooking up with his partner’s best friend got out, it would certainly make the Alpha lose face.

Guān Suī watched Wēn Sòng, who was wrapped up like a silkworm chrysalis, a faint, almost imperceptible smile touching his lips.

He walked to the door, opened it, and left a narrow gap.

Zhào Míngzhuó, who was about to give up, saw the door open and smiled in surprise, saying, “You were in the room! I thought you had already left. I knocked for ages and you didn’t open up.”

After speaking, his gaze fell on the mark on Guān Suī’s collarbone. He couldn’t help but gasp, pointing a finger at his own collarbone area. A flicker of emotion crossed his eyes, as if he had discovered some earth-shattering secret.

His eyes uncontrollably darted into the room, and he said in an exaggerated tone:

“No way, Guān Suī, did something happen to you last night?”

“Don’t you never like Omegas? Wait, it’s not that you don’t like Omegas, you don’t like Alphas, Omegas, or Betas. Hiss—, did you lose control during your Rut Period last night?”

Zhào Míngzhuó seemed very concerned and curious about what exactly happened to Guān Suī last night.

Guān Suī was different from their group; he never brought Omegas when they went out. Although he held capital and power, which led many people to throw themselves at him, he always remained single and avoided excessive contact with others.

Of course, Guān Suī wasn’t the only one in their group like this.

But Guān Suī was particularly noticeable, possessing a level of fastidiousness that made him too lazy even for a casual fling.

“Who is it?” Zhào Míngzhuó was still curious about the identity of the person who could so easily pull the notoriously abstinent Guān Suī off his pedestal. His peripheral vision kept glancing into the room, only seeing the bulge in the quilt proving someone was inside.

Guān Suī’s mischievous streak multiplied infinitely.

He particularly wanted to say—”Your boyfriend.”

Since Zhào Míngzhuó was cheating and wouldn’t cherish him properly, Guān Suī should take care of him on his behalf. Zhào Míngzhuó should be grateful.

“You know him,” Guān Suī finally spoke.

His peripheral vision noted that Wēn Sòng, muffled under the covers and afraid to move, seemed to flinch at those three words.

Zhào Míngzhuó gasped again, rubbing his chin, and asked, “Who is it? Which family’s Omega—”

As he spoke, his nose twitched slightly, only catching the strong scent of the Alpha’s Agave Pheromone. As for the Omega’s Pheromone, not a single trace lingered in the room.

    —It wasn’t an Omega.

No Pheromone entanglement, so it must be a Beta.

Considering Guān Suī’s special status, he would never allow an unpublicized relationship to easily result in his child.

Therefore, a Beta was the best candidate.

But Betas were too bland; only Omegas could achieve a good compatibility match with an Alpha.

    “He’s shy,” Guān Suī said.

    “You’ll know later.”

Seeing that Guān Suī was keeping the secret so well, Zhào Míngzhuó stopped prying into his private affairs.

Just as he was about to leave, he seemed to remember something and asked, “Oh, right, did you see Wēn Sòng last night? My boyfriend. You drove us back to Silver Lake Mansion last time.”

Guān Suī curved his lips, his hand resting on the door frame.

The Alpha’s perception was extremely strong. He heard the Beta lying in bed, afraid of being discovered, move again.

He guessed the other person was playing dead, praying he wouldn’t spill the beans.

    Unfortunately—

“I saw him,” Guān Suī’s malicious thought arose.

Wēn Sòng, lying stiffly under the covers, felt his heart leap into his throat, terrified that Guān Suī, this reckless Young Master, would directly reveal what happened last night. If that happened, he felt Zhào Míngzhuó would immediately explode.

Even if their relationship was a transaction, an Alpha’s possessiveness was terrifying.

The sense of immorality tore at him wildly. Wēn Sòng held his breath, listening quietly to what Guān Suī would say next.

Zhào Míngzhuó asked, “Where did you see him?”

“He said he wasn’t feeling well last night and came back to rest first. But I went to his room this morning and didn’t see him.”

“He didn’t even send me a message.”

Guān Suī glanced at the lump of Beta under the covers.

    “I don’t know.”

“I saw him yesterday, but I don’t know where he went after that.”

Wēn Sòng immediately breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Guān Suī’s answer, like someone submerged underwater who had held their breath until the critical point, finally getting a chance to surface and take a breath of fresh air to save his nearly stopped heart.

Zhào Míngzhuó nodded. “I’ll call him again and ask.”

Then he winked, jutting his chin toward the room, a teasing smile on his lips. “It’s still early, so I won’t disturb you for now.”

Guān Suī hummed and then closed the door.

He didn’t know that the moment the door shut, the smile on Zhào Míngzhuó’s face vanished instantly without a trace.

Hearing the door close, Wēn Sòng felt a sense of surviving a catastrophe. The covers were filled with the Alpha’s Pheromone scent.

    Sure enough.

Being too special wasn’t good either.

As a Beta, he could actually smell such a strong Pheromone scent.

The events of last night replayed in his mind like a movie, frame by frame in slow motion.

“Are you planning to stay under the covers forever?” Guān Suī paced to the bedside, lifted the quilt, and looked at Wēn Sòng, whose face was flushed from being stifled. “Are you feeling guilty towards Zhào Míngzhuó because you slept with me, and you’re trying to kill yourself?”

“You seem to have quite a lot of affection for him.”

    Wēn Sòng: “…………”

No wonder everyone said Guān Suī had a poisonous tongue.

    It was true.

He was only hiding under the covers because he wasn’t wearing clothes and wanted to avoid Zhào Míngzhuó.

“Could you please step away?” Wēn Sòng propped himself up on the bed, hugging the quilt. “I want to get dressed.”

Guān Suī scrutinized Wēn Sòng from head to toe, lifting his eyelids, and said in a casual tone, “Is there any part of you I haven’t seen?”

“I haven’t just seen it; I’ve touched it, kissed it…”

Wēn Sòng couldn’t stand any vulgar remarks related to sex. The image of Guān Suī as cold and taciturn instantly collapsed completely in his mind. Two new labels were added: “Vicious-tongued” and “Malicious.”

“Shut up.” He immediately stopped Guān Suī’s speech.
