Qinglian’S Heart Is Covered, Fate Meets Chapter 1
byChapter 1
In the beginning of chaos, heaven and earth were like an egg, and a great catastrophe swept through the primordial void. Pangu, the Father God, wielded his giant axe to cleave the chaos, separating the clear from the turbid. The light qi floated upward to become the heavens, and the heavy qi sank down to become the earth. With his remaining power, he constructed the Ghost Realm, thus outlining the rudimentary shape of the Three Realms. Thereafter, the heavens and earth gradually divided into Nine Domains: the Upper Three Realms were wreathed in immortal mist, the Middle Three Realms were filled with the ebb and flow of mortal life, and the Lower Three Realms were dark and obscure, encompassing the Mortal Realm, Hell, the Realm of Hungry Ghosts, the Asura Realm, and the Demon Prison. Each occupied its own territory, and order began to emerge.
Deep within the Jade Pool, a single stalk of purple Lianhua was nourished by the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. It spent five hundred years budding and five hundred years blooming, finally cultivating a human form. She was named Lianhua. Her transformation coincided with the return of Venerable Nüwa from mending the heavens. With colored stones, she repaired the firmament, and with yellow earth, she molded mortal bodies. From then on, the world was filled with vibrant life. In the early days of creation, Venerable Nüwa was full of enthusiasm, and the humans she shaped were either intelligent and quick-witted or diligent and simple. But the years stretched on endlessly, and the Venerable gradually grew weary. The strength in her fingertips lost its precision, and the later mortal bodies were imbued with more foolishness and dullness, yet this also added a lively, human touch to the Mortal Realm.
Venerable Nüwa created a miniature Mortal Realm deep within her divine palace. Within the hall, mountains and rivers were scattered, and cooking smoke curled upward. Her greatest pleasure each day was to sit quietly before the hall, watching the miniature mortals plow in spring and harvest in summer, celebrate weddings in red attire, and study diligently by the cold window. She watched them toil for daily necessities, cling to fame and fortune, and shed tears over separation and death. At that time, the Immortal Realm was organized, with every Immortal Official fulfilling their duties. The heavens and earth were in complete harmony. It was in this peaceful setting that Lianhua resided beside the lotuses in the Jade Pool, watching the clouds gather and disperse, and listening to the ethereal immortal music. Her days were tranquil and long.
After an unknown number of years passed, a Great Power in the Immortal Realm suddenly issued a decree, summoning all Immortals to the High Heavens Palace for a council. Above the golden hall, the Great Power’s voice boomed like a great bell: “All Immortals, heed this command! The Heavenly Dao is manifest. To attain a complete divine position, one must first undergo the tribulations of the mortal world. All who descend must experience the seven emotions and six desires, endure the suffering of life and death. Only upon returning from this tribulation can you be officially granted a divine title.”
