Chapter 20: Probably… Intuition. How did you figure it out?

Wen Mian was dumbfounded. She felt the same way. For a moment, she even doubted herself. Did she really act it out like that? How could they guess such a plot?

Su Shiqiu smiled sheepishly. “It was alright. Mainly because Wang Mo acted so well.”

At this, Wang Mo quickly waved her hands. “No, no, no! I didn’t even understand it myself. Your guess was brilliant!”

Su Shiqiu and Zhang Yunxi exchanged a knowing smile.

When it was Wang Mo’s turn, her face was full of confusion, but she was excited. “It’s still these two cards. This little grass goose was flying in the sky, driving the mist, and then it saw a goose with abs. This goose was looking at its phone, and the little grass goose was very curious, so it went up to it. Unexpectedly—there was electricity around it! The little grass goose was unprepared and got electrocuted to death. The blood it spat out was its own! Isn’t that great?”

Su Shiqiu gave her a thumbs up. This was another person with a wild imagination.

For a moment, Wen Mian also wanted to spit blood. She looked at the cards on the table and silently apologized in her heart. She thought her description of it as a goose spitting golden light was already bizarre enough, but there were true masters out there.

Zhang Yunxi burst out laughing, her laughter turning into “quack, quack, quack.” Wiping her tears, she asked, “You call it the little grass goose?”

Wang Mo nodded, pointing at the goose’s head on the card. “Exactly! Don’t these three hairs on its head look like the grass we used to draw in elementary school?”

Zhang Yunxi looked closely, then gave a thumbs up. “They really do! Hahaha!”

Wen Mian glanced at it and nodded internally. It really did look like grass. Well, there went the image she had of it.

Then it was Gu Man’s turn. A faint smile touched her cool eyes, and her voice was clear and crisp. “The cards remain the same. The story is—the little grass goose was killed and then turned into a black goose.”

That single sentence of deadpan humor stunned everyone. They exchanged glances, seeing shock in each other’s eyes.

Wen Mian, however, burst out laughing. “Haha! I didn’t expect that in the end, only Gu Man would guess correctly. Your imaginations are truly vast, I even started doubting myself.”

Everyone let out an incredulous “Ah.”

Zhang Yunxi stared straight at Wen Mian, her tone surprised. “Mian Mian, what did you say? I think I misheard!” Her local dialect even slipped out.

Wen Mian nodded helplessly, confirming her words. “Gu Man’s guess is indeed correct.”

Wang Mo looked at Gu Man, then at Wen Mian, swallowing hard. “Mian Mian, why don’t you perform it again for us to see?”

Su Shiqiu and Zhang Yunxi nodded. “Yes, yes.”

After thinking for a moment, Wen Mian agreed. “Sure, you can all guess together this time.”

With that, she performed it again.

When she reached the greasy CEO segment, everyone was dumbfounded and bent over laughing.

Wang Mo suddenly realized. “So that’s what it was! I wondered why Gu Man was pointing at you and the phone!”

Su Shiqiu immediately caught the loophole in her words. “Gu Man pointed it out to you, so why didn’t you perform it for me?”

Wang Mo froze. Seeing the suspicious looks from everyone, she quickly waved her hands and shook her head. “I’m innocent! I didn’t understand it at the time, I only remembered later.”

“Hmm…” Everyone drew out the final syllable meaningfully, clearly unconvinced.

Wen Mian sat on the sofa and finally explained, “That’s how it was. That first pose was very popular, wasn’t it? So I thought everyone would guess Sun Wukong. Afraid you wouldn’t get it, I specifically pointed to the sky and made a Bodhisattva gesture.”

“Then the other card had abs, and I thought a CEO should have abs, so I added the goat horns.”

“The story is simple. The little grass goose was an angel, very kind-hearted, but it was betrayed. So it blackened and turned into Niohuru Black Goose, the demon goose.”

Zhang Yunxi nodded in realization. “I see. Then it’s not my fault, it’s because the previous person didn’t perform well.”

Song Xue quickly chimed in. “Exactly, it’s not my fault.”

Wen Mian didn’t think so. She equally suspected everyone.

Closing their eyes, and following Zhang Yunxi’s countdown, everyone held up the numbers of the people they suspected.

Gu Man suspected Wang Mo and Zhang Yunxi. Su Shiqiu suspected Wang Mo and Song Xue. Zhang Yunxi, prioritizing justice, pointed to Wang Mo and Su Shiqiu. Song Xue suspected Wang Mo and Su Shiqiu.

Wen Mian tallied the votes, thought for a moment, and said, “I suspect Gu Man and Wang Mo. So the one with the highest votes is—Wang Mo! Followed by—Su Shiqiu.”

Wang Mo pulled a long face and flipped her card. It was indeed the Evil Goose. “I shouldn’t have been so obvious.”

No one was surprised that Wang Mo was the Evil Goose. They shifted their gaze to Su Shiqiu.

Su Shiqiu also looked miserable, flipping her card and crying out innocently, “I told you it wasn’t me!”

Zhang Yunxi guiltily looked away and comforted her. “It’s okay, it’s okay. Just treat it as gaining experience.”

The others flipped their cards together, and to everyone’s shock—Gu Man was the Evil Goose!

Zhang Yunxi’s mouth dropped open. She stared blankly at Gu Man. “I suspected everyone but Gu Man Jie, and yet—she’s the Evil Goose!”

The others also nodded dumbly, feeling like they had suffered thousands of points of damage.

Su Shiqiu looked at Wen Mian, her voice filled with surprise. “I’m really curious, Mian Mian, how did you figure it out?”

Everyone’s attention turned to Wen Mian.

Although Gu Man’s expression was calm, a hint of confusion could be seen.

Wen Mian was startled. How did she figure it out? She asked herself internally.

Finding no answer, she looked at Gu Man again. Gu Man’s expression was serious, her eyelashes slightly lowered, silent but with a strong presence that made her impossible to ignore.

After a long pause, or perhaps a very short one, Wen Mian lowered her head, tugged at the corner of her mouth, and said, “Probably—intuition…”

“Intuition, huh? That’s… very good.” Zhang Yunxi smiled and exchanged a look with Su Shiqiu, a complex meaning in their eyes.

Wang Mo, however, lowered her gaze in disappointment, her wagging tail drooping.

Song Xue clenched the blanket on the sofa, only releasing it after a long time, leaving deep wrinkles.

The small mole near Gu Man’s eye shone brightly, and her cold expression seemed to soften slightly.

Director Wang Qiang watched this scene with satisfaction. Now he wouldn’t have to worry about the recorded broadcast being boring.

At the same time, Xu Qing sat nervously, looking at the floor in the top-floor office of the company.

The floor-to-ceiling windows reflected the entire cityscape of the capital. Sunlight streamed in, soft and full, illuminating the black marble countertop with dazzling colors.

The vast office was silent, every breath clearly audible.

A woman wearing a black, fitted, spaghetti-strap long dress sat in front of the counter.

She had long, curly hair, giving her a strong Hong Kong style aura.

She rubbed her brow, letting out a soft sigh that was slightly hoarse, hiding deep fatigue and irritation.

Xu Qing immediately grew more nervous, unconsciously rubbing the teacup with her fingers.

The woman stood up, walked over, and sat on the sofa opposite Xu Qing, keenly sensing Xu Qing’s tension.

She smiled silently and said softly, “This seems to be the first time we’ve met.” It was phrased as a question but delivered with certainty.

Xu Qing quickly nodded. “It is indeed the first time I’ve met CEO Pei.”

Pei Ting nodded, her tone still gentle. “No need to be so nervous. I just wanted to understand Wen Mian’s situation.”

Xu Qing silently breathed a sigh of relief. So it wasn’t about her resignation! That was good!
