Lin Xi didn’t think too much and went home. After all, it was none of his business who Pei Jiashu went out with or where he went during the New Year. He also wanted to go out and have fun with his friends.

It had been a long time since he had seen his university roommates. After graduation, they had gone their separate ways. Usually, everyone was too busy to get away, but the New Year’s holiday finally allowed them to meet up.

Eating, drinking, and having fun were all on the agenda, and with the addition of Lin Xi’s high school classmates and childhood friends, his schedule was basically full from New Year’s Day to Friday.

Lin Xi looked at the messages he had sent to Pei Jiashu. They had been like stones sinking into the sea for the past two days, with no one responding at all.

Even if Pei Jiashu was out partying, he should at least send him a message back.

Lin Xi pressed the elevator button anxiously and opened the fingerprint lock.

The room was dim even in broad daylight, with a heavy smell of mint filling the air, compressing the other scents. Lin Xi’s legs went weak as soon as he entered, and he couldn’t stand up straight.

Lin Xi knocked on the door. “Pei Jiashu, are you in there? Say something.”

The only response was a loud thumping sound, like someone had fallen off the bed.

“I came to see if you were dead.” Seeing that Pei Jiashu hadn’t opened the door for a long time, Lin Xi said angrily.

Lin Xi calculated that it was the second day after they had said goodbye. “So you just locked yourself in here alone?”

“Be good, go back to your parents’ house. I can get through the estrus period alone,” Pei Jiashu said to Lin Xi.

Pei Jiashu’s words were an indirect admission of Lin Xi’s concern. The thought that he hadn’t noticed Pei Jiashu’s condition at all and had been out having fun these past few days, leaving Pei Jiashu to endure it alone, made his heart clench as if it were being gripped by an invisible hand. And those missing clothes were now piled up on the bed, with some clothes falling on the floor, probably when Pei Jiashu had fallen off the bed just now.

Lin Xi checked Pei Jiashu’s body. There were some small bumps and bruises, all of which had turned black and purple, standing out against his fair skin.

Lin Xi released soothing pheromones while teasing Pei Jiashu. “You’ve taken off more clothes than I did when I was allergic. Remember to wash my clothes when your estrus period is over.”
