MFIMM Chapter 52

Estrus Period
Lin Xi didn’t think too much and went home. After all, it was none of his business who Pei Jiashu went out with or where he went during the New Year. He also wanted to go out and have fun with his friends.
It had been a long time since he had seen his university roommates. After graduation, they had gone their separate ways. Usually, everyone was too busy to get away, but the New Year’s holiday finally allowed them to meet up.
Eating, drinking, and having fun were all on the agenda, and with the addition of Lin Xi’s high school classmates and childhood friends, his schedule was basically full from New Year’s Day to Friday.
Pei Jiashu, on the other hand, was nowhere to be heard.
Lin Xi looked at the messages he had sent to Pei Jiashu. They had been like stones sinking into the sea for the past two days, with no one responding at all.
Even if Pei Jiashu was out partying, he should at least send him a message back.
Lin Xi couldn’t help but feel a little worried.
But when he thought about it, he didn’t actually know any of Pei Jiashu’s friends. Apart from Assistant Song, they didn’t seem to have any common friends.
Lin Xi quickly asked Assistant Song for the contact information of Pei Jiashu’s friends.
He called them one by one, but the conclusion was always the same: they had never seen Pei Jiashu. Not only had they not seen him, but they couldn’t get in touch with him either.
Lin Xi started to panic. He secretly called the butler at the Pei Family Old House, but Pei Jiashu wasn’t there either.
Where could Pei Jiashu have gone, a grown man?
Lin Xi grabbed his coat in a panic and ran out. Lin’s mother called out to him from the living room, but Lin Xi responded hastily and took a taxi to their home.
All the way, Lin Xi kept calling Pei Jiashu, but the phone went from ringing to being switched off, with no one answering.
Lin Xi pressed the elevator button anxiously and opened the fingerprint lock.
The room was dim even in broad daylight, with a heavy smell of mint filling the air, compressing the other scents. Lin Xi’s legs went weak as soon as he entered, and he couldn’t stand up straight.
Such a strong pheromone concentration meant that Pei Jiashu’s estrus period had been triggered.
Lin Xi’s heart tightened, but the breath he had been holding finally eased.
He bit his tongue to stay rational. The living room looked like it had been ransacked, with many things swept onto the floor. The kitchen was even more of a mess.
Lin Xi followed the scent to find Pei Jiashu’s location, but the strongest smell wasn’t coming from Pei Jiashu’s second floor, but was lingering on the first floor.
He finally stopped in front of his own bedroom door.
Lin Xi knocked on the door. “Pei Jiashu, are you in there? Say something.”
The only response was a loud thumping sound, like someone had fallen off the bed.
Lin Xi anxiously grabbed the doorknob, wanting to force his way in, but found that the door was locked from the inside.
He patted the door anxiously, hitting it several times. “Pei Jiashu, open the door for me.”
Lin Xi heard footsteps inside, moving from far away to closer, gradually stopping on the other side of the door.
Pei Jiashu’s hand was on the door, wanting to press the lock, but he forcibly restrained himself and said to Lin Xi, “What are you doing here?”
“I came to see if you were dead.” Seeing that Pei Jiashu hadn’t opened the door for a long time, Lin Xi said angrily.
Pei Jiashu wasn’t even in the mood for banter at this point. He said to Lin Xi, “You’ve already seen, I’m fine.”
“Open the door and let me take a look. Otherwise, how will I know if you’re okay?” Lin Xi didn’t even bother to think about why Pei Jiashu was staying in his room. He just wanted to make sure with his own eyes that Pei Jiashu was alright.
Pei Jiashu, however, seemed determined not to meet him, leaning against the door panel. “If you can smell my pheromones, you should know my current state, so don’t challenge me carelessly.”
Lin Xi couldn’t win against Pei Jiashu, and angrily patted the door a few times to vent his frustration.
“Then why didn’t you answer my phone, and you didn’t reply to my messages either.” Lin Xi felt a little aggrieved. Even when Pei Jiashu was busy with work before, he would always take the time to reply to his WeChat.
Pei Jiashu listened to Lin Xi’s voice. The estrus period had infinitely amplified his senses. He could now smell the faint honey scent on Lin Xi’s body, like a sweet honey cake that made him want to devour him.
One of his hands gripped the doorknob, while the other gripped his own wrist, with instinct and reason in a tug-of-war.
“I didn’t look at my phone,” Pei Jiashu explained.
Lin Xi heard Pei Jiashu’s lowered voice and could hear the weakness in it.
Originally, Lin Xi had wanted to slam the door and leave because of Pei Jiashu’s several rejections, but he stayed because of this sentence. He asked Pei Jiashu, “When did your estrus period start?”
“The day before yesterday,” Pei Jiashu said truthfully.
Lin Xi calculated that it was the second day after they had said goodbye. “So you just locked yourself in here alone?”
“Be good, go back to your parents’ house. I can get through the estrus period alone,” Pei Jiashu said to Lin Xi.
Pei Jiashu’s words were an indirect admission of Lin Xi’s concern. The thought that he hadn’t noticed Pei Jiashu’s condition at all and had been out having fun these past few days, leaving Pei Jiashu to endure it alone, made his heart clench as if it were being gripped by an invisible hand. The sourness made Lin Xi’s nose tingle.
“Pei Jiashu, I have a high compatibility with you. If you let me in, I can soothe your estrus period,” Lin Xi said, patting the door.
Pei Jiashu almost agreed immediately. He leaned against the door. “You should also know that if you come in to soothe me, some things that you don’t want to happen might happen. Leave quickly before my patience runs out.”
“Damn it.” Lin Xi really couldn’t stand Pei Jiashu’s awkwardness. He kicked the door a few times. “What are you thinking? As long as you open this door, I can help you. Those things can only be discussed after you open the door for me.”
“Besides, it wouldn’t matter even if you temporarily marked me, anyway, I’ve bitten you several times.”
Pei Jiashu: “It’s not the same…”
“What’s not the same? You helped me, so I want to help you too.” Lin Xi interrupted Pei Jiashu. “Open the door, or I’ll keep banging. Anyway, my current salary is more than enough to buy a door.”
Pei Jiashu was stunned. He really didn’t expect Lin Xi to be so fierce.
His hand uncontrollably opened the door. Lin Xi was about to slam into the door, but who knew that the door would suddenly open? He staggered and fell into Pei Jiashu’s arms.
Pei Jiashu’s hands loosely held his waist.
The pheromone concentration in the room was even higher than Lin Xi had imagined. He even felt a sense of shortness of breath, collapsing into Pei Jiashu’s arms. Pei Jiashu’s hands, after smelling the scent on Lin Xi’s body, tightened even more, as if he wanted to melt Lin Xi into his bones.
Lin Xi struggled out of his arms. He saw that his room was also a mess at this time, with some things thrown on the floor. His walk-in closet was wide open, and all the clothes inside were gone.
And those missing clothes were now piled up on the bed, with some clothes falling on the floor, probably when Pei Jiashu had fallen off the bed just now.
Lin Xi checked Pei Jiashu’s body. There were some small bumps and bruises, all of which had turned black and purple, standing out against his fair skin.
Lin Xi released soothing pheromones while teasing Pei Jiashu. “You’ve taken off more clothes than I did when I was allergic. Remember to wash my clothes when your estrus period is over.”
If it were normal times, Pei Jiashu would probably have retorted him, but Pei Jiashu during his estrus period carefully nodded, like a big dog afraid of being abandoned by its owner.
This Pei Jiashu looked a little pitiful, especially when he thought that he had been locking himself in his room alone for so many years.
It was supposed to be a holiday for reunion.
Lin Xi couldn’t describe his feelings. He could only hug Pei Jiashu, patting his back like he was patting a baby.
“Why did you come back here? Weren’t you going to stay at the old house?” Lin Xi asked.
Pei Jiashu was responsive. “Because you left, and I didn’t want to stay there either.”
Lin Xi’s heart trembled. The butler had just told him that Pei Jiashu had been scolded by Pei Yuebin for leaving the old house.
Pei Jiashu’s stomach rumbled at the right time. Lin Xi remembered the tragic state of the kitchen and looked up to ask him, “Have you eaten these past few days?”
Pei Jiashu shook his head. “I drank nutritional supplements.”
“Or should I go prepare something for you to eat?” Lin Xi said to Pei Jiashu. He wanted to go to the kitchen to see if there was anything to eat, but Pei Jiashu refused to let go of him.
As long as Lin Xi moved, he would hug Lin Xi tightly, burying his face in Lin Xi’s neck and saying, “Don’t go.”
Making it impossible for Lin Xi to move a step.
“Then let’s go together, okay?” Lin Xi rarely had so much patience, and just followed Pei Jiashu, this oversized pendant, step by step to the kitchen.
The kitchen was already so dirty that it was unrecognizable. He didn’t know what Pei Jiashu had done here.
Lin Xi covered his eyes with his hands, unwilling to believe the scene before him.
He simply opened his phone and wanted to order takeout, but Pei Jiashu kept a close eye on his phone, his eyes like a puppy ready to be abandoned by its owner at any moment.
Seeing this, Lin Xi touched Pei Jiashu’s head. Pei Jiashu not only didn’t dodge, but also actively rubbed against Lin Xi’s palm.
“If your estrus period ends and you remember all this, won’t you want to strangle me?” Lin Xi couldn’t help but think.
The two of them sat on the sofa, waiting for the takeout to arrive.
Pei Jiashu let Lin Xi sit in his arms, and he wrapped his arms and legs around Lin Xi, not giving Lin Xi any space to leave.
His chest was pressed against Lin Xi’s back, and Lin Xi could even feel Pei Jiashu’s vibrating heartbeat, as well as the thing that had been pressed against his lower back.
Estrus period alphas get excited when they touch omegas.
Lin Xi was originally afraid of something happening, but now it seemed that Pei Jiashu really didn’t like him.
He didn’t know whether he should breathe a sigh of relief or reflect on whether he really didn’t have any charm.
The takeout from the city center was delivered quickly. Lin Xi wanted to get out of Pei Jiashu’s embrace to get it, but Pei Jiashu hugged his waist tightly and wouldn’t let him go.
“I’ll go get the food.”
“Together.”
Lin Xi could only take this large pendant to get the takeout. The delivery man hadn’t left yet. Looking at the two of them, Pei Jiashu immediately showed aggression and pulled Lin Xi behind him.
Lin Xi quickly pulled Pei Jiashu away, took the takeout, and closed the door.
But the takeout in his hand was snatched by Pei Jiashu and placed in the entrance hall. Lin Xi was also picked up by Pei Jiashu and sat on the cabinet in the entrance hall.
The world spun, and before Lin Xi could react, he was completely surrounded by Pei Jiashu.
The thick, somewhat bitter mint scent washed over him like a tide, and Pei Jiashu’s body also pressed down.
“You’re not allowed to look at anyone else, you can only look at me.”
