The Beauty Is Seducing Me Again Chapter 17
byChapter 17: 017 “Sister, you’re back.”
Su Man and Qin Siyu joked around, only giving Shen Qing’an terrible ideas.
“Isn’t this great? You two are sleeping separately now. Find a night with heavy rain, strong winds, thunder, and lightning, then run over and knock on her door. Just tell her you’re afraid of the thunder and can’t sleep, and you want her to sleep with you.”
The more Su Man spoke, the better she thought her idea was; it was practically perfect: “If you spend enough time together, your feelings will naturally deepen.”
Shen Qing’an gave her a cold look. “Stop filling my head with your trashy, suggestive nonsense.”
“Oh, where am I being suggestive?” Su Man truly felt wronged; she was being quite serious when she offered the advice. “It’s purely about sleeping together. I’m not telling you to force yourself on her. Don’t let your own mind wander.”
Shen Qing’an immediately rejected it. “No.”
Su Man was instantly disappointed. “Oh.”
Damn it, her idea was clearly brilliant.
“In another week, it will be time for university to start, right? The number of times you can see her will probably be even less since she’ll be living on campus.” A thought flashed through Qin Siyu’s mind. She said, “University classes are light. You can pull some strings then to get her permission to live off-campus, and you can pick her up and drop her off every day.”
“Going back and forth, rain or shine, even the worst relationship should spark some fire.”
Under the influence of alcohol, Shen Qing’an’s thoughts were a bit muddled, but she was still trying to consider the feasibility of Qin Siyu’s suggestion.
The method was indeed good.
If possible, Shen Qing’an even wanted to buy a large apartment in Yunjing University and let Chen Xiaonuan move in, making it easier for her to spend time with Chen Xiaonuan.
Shen Qing’an’s eyes fell on the wine she was swirling in her hand, and her voice was very low. “We’ll talk about it after she starts school.”
“Fine, you make the decision. If you need us to step in and help, just call us directly.” Su Man looked serious, her eyes full of righteousness. “We will go through fire and water for a friend; it’s our duty.”
When Shen Qing’an heard her say this, she felt a headache coming on. “Just don’t mess things up.”
Su Man: “…”
She had so little faith in her. Fine, very fine.
The ship of friendship was sinking fast.
It wasn’t until late at night that the three of them left the bar.
Before Su Man left, she didn’t forget to give Shen Qing’an an ambiguous look of ‘Go for it, I’m rooting for you,’ clearly hoping Shen Qing’an would take advantage of her drunken state tonight and do something to the girl.
Shen Qing’an: “…”
She didn’t understand why Su Man, who was a well-known art gallery owner, was constantly spouting suggestive nonsense. Even the paintings she chose to exhibit in her gallery were provocative.
She called it the beauty of the human form.
In any case, Shen Qing’an couldn’t appreciate it or accept it.
Tonight seemed like a mistake. She shouldn’t have called these two out to give her advice.
Shen Qing’an sat in the back seat and didn’t immediately tell the driver to start the car. She leaned back against the soft seat, watching the brightly lit yet blurry city nightscape outside the window.
Like.
This word echoed repeatedly in her mind.
The uncontrollable heartbeats, the inexplicable heat, the strong impulse to get closer, that absurd yet real dream… all of it was brought to her by Chen Xiaonuan.
Shen Qing’an thought that the self-control she prided herself on had completely disintegrated after meeting Chen Xiaonuan, leaving her with no way to break the deadlock.
Shen Qing’an closed her eyes and rubbed her aching temples.
Was the road to wooing her wife long?
Perhaps.
Since she had confirmed her feelings for Chen Xiaonuan, Shen Qing’an was definitely not someone who would give up easily. She was unwilling; she didn’t want to just be an older sister.
*
Late at night, the Shen Family Villa was quiet, with only a few corridor lights emitting a soft glow.
Having drunk too much, her temples felt a bit swollen.
Shen Qing’an pushed open the heavy entrance door, walking in with the faint glimmer of night dew and a light scent of alcohol. She was about to go straight upstairs when her gaze caught sight of the living room and she paused.
A floor lamp was still lit there.
An orange-yellow halo enveloped a corner of the sofa, and the TV screen was still on, silently playing a late-night program. Curled up on the sofa, a petite figure was sleeping soundly.
It was Chen Xiaonuan.
The alcohol prompted Shen Qing’an’s muddled brain to start thinking. She didn’t understand why Chen Xiaonuan was sleeping here.
She subconsciously lightened her steps and, as if guided by a ghost, walked toward the sofa.
Only when she got closer did Shen Qing’an clearly see Chen Xiaonuan’s sleeping face.
Chen Xiaonuan was lying on her side, hugging a soft pillow. A cute red mark was pressed onto her cheek, her long eyelashes rested quietly, and her breathing was even.
The TV remote control had fallen by her hand; she must have fallen asleep while watching TV.
She looked exactly like a kitten waiting for its owner to return but unable to fight off sleep, radiating defenseless softness.
Shen Qing’an’s heart felt as if something had lightly scratched it, leaving a tingling, numb, and tender feeling.
She didn’t wake Chen Xiaonuan but sat down on the other side of the sofa, quietly watching her.
The leather sofa made a slight sound.
Chen Xiaonuan, who wasn’t sleeping deeply, was disturbed by the subtle movement. Her eyelashes fluttered, and she groggily opened her eyes. Her gaze first focused blankly on the TV screen, then shifted to the figure beside her.
Chen Xiaonuan hadn’t fully woken up from her sleep, and her voice was soft and sweet as she mumbled, “Sister, you’re back.”
She confirmed that Shen Qing’an had truly returned and that she wasn’t dreaming.
Chen Xiaonuan tried to sit up, but the sleepiness in her body resisted. She felt weak and limp, and she ended up leaning entirely against Shen Qing’an.
“Mmm…” Chen Xiaonuan instinctively rubbed against her, finding a comfortable position, and let out a soft whimper like a small animal.
Shen Qing’an’s body instantly froze.
The girl’s soft hair brushed against her jawline, carrying a faint, clean scent of gardenia. Her warm body, pressed against her through the thin silk nightgown, transmitted that soft sensation again, clearly and intensely.
It was more direct and more lethal than that night.
The alcohol played a miraculous role at this moment. Instead of numbing Shen Qing’an’s senses, it made all her perceptions more sensitive, magnifying every feeling.
She could clearly feel every curve of the girl, feel the warm breath brushing against the skin of her neck, and the sudden, uncontrolled pounding of her heart.
And the heat of her blood accelerating.
Shen Qing’an didn’t dare to move, every muscle in her body was tense, and she instinctively held her breath.
Chen Xiaonuan, leaning against Shen Qing’an, finally regained full consciousness. She tried hard to sniff and confirmed a very strange smell.
It was so strange that Chen Xiaonuan wanted to cover her nose; it smelled bad, not at all like her fragrant sister.
“Sister.” Chen Xiaonuan was still leaning on Shen Qing’an’s shoulder, unwilling to move away. She lifted her head, looking up at her with her small face. “Sister, the smell on you is so unpleasant, it stinks.”
Shen Qing’an: “…”
She had absolutely not expected Chen Xiaonuan to say that.
Awkwardness and a hint of imperceptible embarrassment surged in her heart. Shen Qing’an turned her head away unnaturally and whispered, “I drank a little wine tonight.”
Chen Xiaonuan nodded, seemingly understanding. “Oh… no wonder Sister came back so late tonight. So you were out socializing.”
She could distinguish the smell of alcohol, but there was another smell.
She sniffed again carefully, like a puppy, and then frowned. “There’s another smell. Sister, you smoked.”
Shen Qing’an hadn’t expected her nose to be so sharp.
While drinking at the bar, she had broken her rule and smoked one cigarette because she was troubled. The smell should have been very faint; even she could barely detect it.
Being stared at by the girl, Shen Qing’an actually felt like she was a child caught doing something wrong. She cleared her throat uncomfortably. “I only smoked one.”
Chen Xiaonuan’s eyebrows completely knitted into a small knot. In her understanding, smoking and drinking were not good habits and were bad for the body. She hadn’t expected Shen Qing’an to drink and smoke; she didn’t look like someone who would do those things at all.
“Did Sister encounter something upsetting recently?” Chen Xiaonuan tilted her head, looking at Shen Qing’an with great concern. “Why did you suddenly start smoking and drinking? If you encounter something upsetting, you should talk about it, don’t keep it bottled up, or you’ll get depressed.”
“If Sister doesn’t want to tell me, you can tell Auntie, or you can talk to a good friend. Just don’t bear bad emotions alone. You need to vent them out, after all, there’s nothing worse than the sky falling.”
The girl’s gaze was pure and direct, and the concern in her tone was undisguised, like a mirror reflecting Shen Qing’an’s current inner turmoil… and the source of her unspeakable troubles.
Shen Qing’an met those eyes full of worry, and her throat felt clogged.
What could she tell Chen Xiaonuan?
Should she say that the source of her trouble was her, that she had developed inappropriate feelings for her, and that she needed alcohol and nicotine to numb herself?
After a long moment, Shen Qing’an’s voice was a little hoarse. “It’s nothing serious, just a little bothersome.”
“What kind of trouble is it? Can you tell me?” Chen Xiaonuan looked innocent and eager. “Although I can’t help Sister with anything, I can help Sister relieve her mood!”
Seeing her like this, Shen Qing’an almost laughed.
A complex emotion flashed across Shen Qing’an’s eyes. She raised her hand and gently rubbed Chen Xiaonuan’s messy hair.
“Later…” Shen Qing’an’s voice was low, carrying a hint of post-drinking tipsiness. “I’ll tell you later.”
A warm sensation came from the top of her head. Chen Xiaonuan was stunned for a moment, and a warm current inexplicably spread from her head, making her heart skip a beat, and her cheeks feel slightly warm.
Sister’s hand was so warm.
“Oh… O-okay,” Chen Xiaonuan stammered in response.
“It’s very late.” Shen Qing’an withdrew her hand, her fingertips still retaining the feel of the soft hair. She stood up. “Don’t sleep on the sofa; you’ll catch a cold. Go back to your room to sleep.”
Chen Xiaonuan quickly stood up. In fact, she had only fallen asleep watching TV in the living room because she was waiting for Shen Qing’an to return.
“Good night, Sister.”
“Good night.”
Just as Shen Qing’an was about to open the door to the master bedroom, Chen Xiaonuan’s voice came from behind her.
“Sister, smoking is bad for your health, and the smell is also very unpleasant. Can you not smoke anymore?”
Shen Qing’an couldn’t describe her feelings. She looked at Chen Xiaonuan’s bright eyes and answered without thinking, “I can.”
Chen Xiaonuan touched her head, where the warmth of Shen Qing’an’s touch seemed to linger. She smiled warmly. “Then good night, Sister. Sweet dreams.”
The door to the guest room gently closed.
