Chapter 7

Pei Jiashu massaged his throbbing temples, beginning to rethink whether he had made a mistake in choosing his fake marriage partner.

Lin Xi blankly sat up in bed, his messy hair sticking up like a chicken coop. He met the menacing gaze before him and quickly rolled to the other side of the bed, clutching the blanket.

“What… what are you doing in my room?” Lin Xi asked nervously.

Pei Jiashu, accused instead, was amused. He tossed the pillow back onto Lin Xi’s bed and scoffed, “I have no interest in an omega like you. But you better clean up this pigsty.”

“Pigsty—” Lin Xi looked around the room. Aside from a few things he hadn’t had time to put away, it was hardly a pigsty. This man was always indirectly insulting him.

“If this is a pigsty, then you’re a pig, the biggest pig,” Lin Xi shouted at Pei Jiashu. He jumped out of bed, not even bothering to put on shoes, and pushed Pei Jiashu out.

Pei Jiashu leaned against the door, looking at Lin Xi, and asked, “Are you going to eat?”

Lin Xi looked at him suspiciously. Was Pei Jiashu being kind enough to buy him food again? He had slept until evening and was indeed quite hungry.

    “Did you buy me food?”

    “No.”

“…” Several black lines appeared on Lin Xi’s forehead. He knew Pei Jiashu wouldn’t be that nice to him. “Then why are you asking?”

    “Just asking.”

Without another thought, Lin Xi slammed the door shut. He quickly tidied up the room and walked out, only to find Pei Jiashu cooking in the kitchen.

The kitchen was semi-open, with an island counter.

Pei Jiashu was still in his shirt, not having changed into loungewear, and was wearing a gray apron, skillfully tossing fried rice in the wok.

From Lin Xi’s perspective, he could only see Pei Jiashu’s slightly bulging back muscles and forearm muscles. The bulging veins on his white skin looked like winding snakes, and he couldn’t help but swallow.

It was said that the most attractive moments for a man were when he was working seriously and cooking.

But it would be better if it weren’t Pei Jiashu.

Perhaps his gaze lingered on Pei Jiashu for too long, or perhaps Pei Jiashu had noticed him the moment he entered the kitchen.

Pei Jiashu suddenly turned his head and asked him, “Want to eat?”

Pei Jiashu had his usual gentle smile on his face, but it was somehow different. The curve of his eyes was slightly bent, and his figure was clearly reflected in his pupils. Lin Xi nodded as if bewitched.

But Pei Jiashu lowered his head and let out a muffled laugh, and when he looked up again, the smile on his face had completely disappeared. He coldly said, “No.”

Lin Xi clenched his fist, wishing he could punch Pei Jiashu’s annoying face right now.

    “Who cares about your food.”

“Really?” Pei Jiashu looked at Lin Xi taking out his phone and reminded him as if sensing his intentions, “But deliveries can’t come in here. If you want to order takeout, you can only pick it up at the gate.”

Lin Xi thought for a moment. Assistant Song had taken quite some time driving from the gate to the underground garage at noon.

His eyes went dark, and his stomach growled in protest.

Pei Jiashu’s rice smelled so good. He angrily poked at his phone. It was just walking to the gate, right? He could do it.

After ordering, he unceremoniously lay down on the sofa, turned on the huge screen TV, and randomly started a drama.

Pei Jiashu quietly ate at the dining table, listening to the sound coming from the TV. His ears twitched slightly. The house had never been so lively since he moved in.

After washing the dishes, Pei Jiashu rarely lingered in the living room, “Didn’t your family teach you how to cook?”

Lin Xi seemed to think the pillows on the sofa were not comfortable enough to hug, kicked them aside, and brought a pink pig out of the room.

He lazily said to Pei Jiashu, “I just graduated from university. I usually ate at school. At most, I could only cook instant noodles.”

After speaking, he suddenly looked up from the TV, his eyes full of curiosity, “But you look quite rich. Don’t you hire nannies or housekeepers to cook for you every meal? You don’t look like someone who would cook.”

“I don’t like strangers in my house, and I don’t like strange things appearing in my house. Take your pig back to your room later.”

Pei Jiashu’s mouth twitched when he saw the pink pig.

“Tch.” Lin Xi covered the pig’s ears, “Piggy, don’t listen, it’s a bad review.”

After a long while, Lin Xi sighed and said, “My dad has always done the cooking at home. My mom doesn’t cook well. My dad always said that alphas have to learn how to cook to please their wives, so he didn’t expect me to know how to cook. I used to think I could marry someone who was gentle and cooked delicious food.”

“That’s a pity. You’re already married to me.” Pei Jiashu’s voice was devoid of emotion.

Lin Xi followed his words, “It’s okay, it’s only for five years anyway. When we get divorced, I’ll immediately go find someone who is gentle and cooks delicious food.”

Pei Jiashu didn’t say anything this time. He slowly stood up from the sofa and scoffed, “Then I wish you and I can both get what we want.”

Soon after, Lin Xi’s delivery called. He ignored Pei Jiashu and got up to go get his takeout.

It was quite far from here to the gate. He walked for a full ten minutes before seeing the gate, panting slightly. He asked the security guard, “Security guard, did a delivery guy leave my takeout here just now? Did you see it?”

The security guard looked at him blankly, “Sir, what’s your room number?”

Lin Xi reported his room number, and the security guard said, “Our community has a special property butler who will deliver your parcels to your door. You don’t need to come out to pick them up.”

“What?” Lin Xi felt like the sky was falling. In other words, he had just brushed shoulders with his delivery, and now his takeout had been delivered to his door, but he had to walk another ten minutes back.

Damn Pei Jiashu! Hypocritical and ill-intentioned.

Walking home, he saw that his takeout had indeed been hijacked by Pei Jiashu. Pei Jiashu was sitting in a chair, the takeout openly displayed in front of him.

Lin Xi walked over grumpily and grabbed the takeout.

“Hey, you’re doing this on purpose, wanting me to run for nothing!” Lin Xi became angrier and angrier. But the person sitting there calmly said, “I don’t order takeout. I didn’t know the property could deliver.”

    I believe you.

Pei Jiashu had unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, loosely revealing his collarbone. His hands were placed on the black marble table, his slender fingers interlaced.

Lin Xi, thinking that he had walked back and forth for almost twenty minutes because of Pei Jiashu’s words, angrily grabbed Pei Jiashu’s hand that was waving in front of him and bit him hard on the back of his hand.

Sharp teeth bit into his skin. Pei Jiashu finally lost his composure and cursed, “Are you a dog?” He shook off Lin Xi, and a row of neat teeth marks had been left on the back of his hand, with shiny saliva on them.

Pei Jiashu looked at the saliva and couldn’t help but grab Lin Xi’s collar, pulling his whole person over. He rubbed his fingers on Lin Xi’s clothes, wrinkling his brows as he wiped the saliva clean.

Lin Xi struggled, but Pei Jiashu’s grip was like iron tongs. Those hands released him, but climbed up towards his chest, until his hand was about to touch the gland patch on Lin Xi’s neck. Lin Xi’s whole body bristled, and his legs trembled as he retreated.

“Heh.” Pei Jiashu’s movements stopped, and his fingers pinched the area where Lin Xi had bitten him, “Now you know to be afraid? Why didn’t you know to be afraid when you provoked me just now?”

“This… this is different! And it’s all your fault for lying to me first.” Lin Xi’s voice became lower and lower. He had bitten Pei Jiashu in the heat of the moment, and now he regretted it to the core.

“Behave yourself if you want to stay here.” Pei Jiashu left these words and went upstairs. The teeth marks on his hand were throbbing faintly. He had a premonition that Lin Xi would make this “home” even more chaotic.

Before long, Lin Xi had completely forgotten what had just happened. Seemingly disliking the drama he had been watching earlier, he switched to a variety show, laughing as he ate.

Pei Jiashu was in the study on the second floor, working on unfinished tasks, but he could occasionally hear loud laughter from downstairs.

He closed the doors and windows of the study and put on noise-canceling headphones. The world was finally quiet.

After finishing his meal, Lin Xi turned off the TV and returned to his room. The live streaming equipment on the table was already set up. He touched it here and there, itching to start, and turned on the live stream.

Although he had few fans, they were all loyal. As soon as they saw the news that he was live, they quickly flooded into the live stream room.

[Good evening, wife. Why are you so sudden today?]

[Licking the screen at Lin Xi’s beauty. How can someone be so good-looking without makeup?]

[Lin Xi, did you move? The background behind you has changed.]

“Yes, I recently signed with a company and moved near the company.” Lin Xi said without blushing or skipping a beat. He couldn’t tell his fans that he had moved into his “husband’s” house.

[Lin Xi actually signed with Jiashang. So amazing! If you become popular in the future, we’ll be veteran fans.]

[Who wants to fight me for Lin Xi’s wife? Watch me draw my sword!]

[Lin Xi, I heard that your company’s boss is super, unbelievably handsome and a very good person. Have you met him?]

The smile on Lin Xi’s face froze. Thinking of the six hundred yuan that had been deducted from him today, he said with a fake smile, “I met him. He’s unbelievably handsome and a very good person.”

[I feel like Lin Xi is being threatened.]

    [Plus one]

Seeing that things were about to develop in the direction of deduction, Lin Xi couldn’t help but say, “Alright, alright, let’s start with the makeup tutorial today. I’ll teach you a ‘face that everyone loves at interviews’ look.”

He took out his cosmetics from his luggage. The live streaming equipment was top-notch, and even the downy hair on his face was clearly visible.

The comments section exploded with excitement.

[What is my wife saying? I can only see his mouth moving. It’s red and plump, and it looks so kissable.]

[Is no one saying that Lin Xi’s camera is super high-definition today? And he’s constantly doing close-ups of his face. I’m so happy.]

[How can this anchor be so good-looking? What kind of taste is this?]

[Upstairs, don’t run away. What are you saying?]

[Don’t you guys think the music in this live stream is very hard to listen to? It’s heavy metal music…]

[Sorry, brother. I’ve been poisoned by Lin Xi’s taste, and I’m fine with these songs.]

However, someone upstairs wasn’t fine with it. Pei Jiashu covered his ears and couldn’t bear it anymore. He went downstairs and knocked on Lin Xi’s door.

“What? I’m live streaming.” Lin Xi hurriedly stood up from his chair, opened the door, and quickly closed it, afraid that the people in the live stream would discover that he was living in another man’s house.

Pei Jiashu covered his ears, standing here, the music inside was even clearer, “Don’t play music. I want to sleep.”
