Chapter 29: Called the Wrong Husband

    Chapter Twenty-Nine

Pei Huaixue was held in Gu Minghe’s arms. After being fed porridge and taking his medicine, the effects kicked in, and he drifted into a deep sleep.

During this time, Gu Minghe continuously and gently wiped his forehead with alcohol to bring his temperature down, ensuring he wouldn’t feel too uncomfortable while sleeping.

This level of meticulous and thoughtful care stunned the viewers in the live stream.

-Even if this is acting, I believe it…

-Gu Minghe’s gaze toward Pei Huaixue is just overflowing with love!

-So Actor Gu really came onto the show to find a partner!

-Pei Huaixue seems less annoying when he’s with Gu Minghe.

Gu Minghe stayed by the bedside all day, carefully looking after Pei Huaixue without leaving.

When Pei Huaixue woke up, the sky was already dark; he had slept for an entire day.

He groggily opened his eyes, feeling sticky and uncomfortable from the sweat. Subconsciously, he spoke, “Husband, carry me to the bath…”

His tone was soft and lazy, clearly not fully awake.

As soon as the words left his mouth, the air in the room fell silent.

The man standing by the bed turned around with an awkward expression, looking toward Gu Minghe, who had just appeared at the doorway.

Gu Minghe had just received a work call and, fearing he would wake Pei Huaixue, had stepped outside to take it, leaving the door slightly ajar. He hadn’t expected that in just that short time, he would be “cuckolded.”

Gu Yanchen, upon learning that Pei Huaixue was sick, rushed back after finishing his work to see if he was feeling better.

Seeing the door wasn’t closed and Gu Minghe was outside on the phone, he walked straight in.

Just as he reached the bedside, Pei Huaixue half-opened his eyes and called him “Husband.”

This wasn’t the first time Pei Huaixue had called him that. The last time, when Gu Yanchen went to wake him up from a lazy sleep, he had been called that unintentionally.

Gu Yanchen knew, of course, that Pei Huaixue had mistaken him for someone else because he wasn’t fully conscious.

He turned to Gu Minghe, who had just finished his call and returned, and explained, “Don’t misunderstand, he must still be half-asleep.”

Gu Minghe’s face was cold, his eyes fixed darkly on Gu Yanchen. He snapped, “Get out.”

Gu Yanchen gritted his teeth. If they weren’t live streaming, he truly wanted to fight his rebellious younger brother and remind him who was the boss.

Meeting Gu Minghe’s murderous gaze, Gu Yanchen reluctantly left.

As soon as he was gone, the bedroom door slammed shut with a loud bang.

The sound startled Pei Huaixue on the bed, waking him completely.

He also realized that he had called the wrong husband just now…

He buried himself under the covers like an ostrich, afraid to look at Gu Minghe, fearing he would see sadness and hurt in his eyes.

Although it was unintentional, Gu Minghe was extremely jealous. Calling Gu Yanchen “Husband” right in front of him was like stabbing a knife into Gu Minghe’s heart. The more Pei Huaixue thought about it, the guiltier he felt. He curled up into a ball, hiding inside to repent.

The bullet screen was also shocked by his earth-shattering “Husband.”

-Pei Huaixue actually called Gu Yanchen ‘Husband’ right in front of Gu Minghe. What kind of hellish scene is this?!

-So Pei Huaixue still likes Gu Yanchen? Otherwise, he wouldn’t secretly call him ‘Husband.’

-He called him that once before, and now again. What exactly is his relationship with Gu Yanchen?

-Gu Minghe needs to step up his game. Pei Huaixue clearly hasn’t fallen for him yet.

-Actor Gu’s face is so dark and terrifying! I’ve never seen him look so scary! If they weren’t live streaming, I feel like he might have fought Gu Yanchen!

-He won’t take his anger out on Pei Huaixue, will he?

Gu Minghe looked at the figure hiding under the covers, afraid to come out. He walked over and gently patted the lump. “Don’t smother yourself in there, it’s bad for your breathing.”

At his words, the person under the blanket cautiously lifted a corner, revealing a pair of beautiful eyes. “Gu Minghe, I’m so sweaty. Can you carry me to the bath?”

Hearing this, Gu Minghe raised an eyebrow.

He called Gu Yanchen “Husband,” but called him by his full name. He was petty enough to want to refuse, but Pei Huaixue gently rubbed his head against his arm. The soft hair felt like a feather brushing against his heart. His heart softened, and before Pei Huaixue could speak again, he picked him up and carried him to the bathroom.

This left the viewers desperate, wishing they could transform into the bathroom faucet!

-Why are they going into the bathroom again? Is there something my esteemed membership can’t see?!

-Ahhh, this is too sweet! He needs to be carried even to bathe. What kind of kitten is this, asking for cuddles?

-Gu Minghe accepts every single one of Pei Huaixue’s requests unconditionally! This is too much pampering!

-Their interactions are so natural. Gu Minghe’s movements when holding Pei Huaixue are a little too practiced!

-Is Pei Huaixue trying to juggle both brothers? You can’t be too greedy, or you might end up with neither.

Inside the bathroom, the sound of rushing water began.

Pei Huaixue’s sweat-soaked clothes were quickly removed.

Gu Minghe adjusted the water temperature and began helping Pei Huaixue bathe.

Pei Huaixue looked at Gu Minghe, who was expressionless, helping him rinse and scrub his back like a robot. Remembering the blunder just now, he knew Gu Minghe was still bothered by it.

He had no choice but to explain, “I mistook you for someone else just now.”

    “I know.”

“I didn’t mean to call Gu Yanchen ‘Husband.'”

    “Yes, but you still did.”

Fine, the smell of vinegar was strong.

Pei Huaixue blinked. Water droplets clung to his long, curled lashes. He said innocently, “Then what should I do?”

“You have to compensate me,” Gu Minghe said seriously.

“Hmm, how do I compensate you?”

As soon as Pei Huaixue finished speaking, he was lifted and pressed against the wet wall. He tilted his head back, and his delicate, small throat was suddenly captured. He was so sensitive that his whole body trembled, his hands weakly clinging to the man’s strong, broad back, terrified of falling.

    “Ha… is this enough compensation?”

He gasped softly, his waist going weak from the kisses.

The showerhead had long been tossed aside, and hot water sprayed everywhere, soaking both their bodies.

Pei Huaixue was naked, but Gu Minghe was fully dressed.

He looked down at himself and felt this was unfair. He reached out to pull at Gu Minghe’s clothes, but the man stopped his restless hands.

Gu Minghe’s eyes were red, and he said in a hoarse voice, “Call me Husband.”

“Husband…” Pei Huaixue called out softly and sweetly, then continued trying to strip the man in front of him, but was stopped again.

    Pei Huaixue became unhappy.

He pouted, complaining, “I won’t call you Husband anymore.”

“Why not?” Gu Minghe’s gaze darkened.

“Hmph, I don’t have a husband right now, so how can I casually call someone else ‘Husband’? If my future husband finds out, he’ll get angry and jealous, so I can’t call you Husband.”

Pei Huaixue’s reasoning was sound, but his hands instinctively tightened around Gu Minghe.

Gu Minghe chuckled softly. “Baby is right.”

He gently lifted the person higher, and the kisses continued to rain down, making Pei Huaixue dizzy again.

“Baby shouldn’t casually call anyone else ‘Husband.'”

    “Good baby.”

Pei Huaixue’s body, already overheated from the fever, flushed several shades redder under Gu Minghe’s constant praise. His pale skin was stained with a peach-like pink, beautiful like a brilliant treasure.

He shyly buried his face in Gu Minghe’s neck, forbidding him from saying anything more.

The netizens in the live stream waited and waited, but Gu Minghe still hadn’t emerged. Finally, they sensed something was wrong.

-He just carried him in to bathe, why hasn’t Gu Minghe come out yet?

-Could it be that they decided to bathe together?!

-Holy crap, a鸳鸯浴 (lovers’ bath)?! Are they progressing this fast??

-Others are still in the ambiguous stage of a dating show, shyly holding hands and texting, but this couple seems to have skipped certain steps and gone straight into the post-marriage phase?!

-They’ve been in there so long, are they actually doing it inside?

-Pei Huaixue still has a fever! Gu Minghe, you beast, don’t wear Xuexue out!!

The bullet screen instantly filled with various sensitive word warnings.

The excessive scale caused constant alerts to pop up in the live stream.

After an unknown amount of time, the bathroom door finally opened.

Gu Minghe emerged, holding a clean, fragrant Pei Huaixue wrapped in a bath towel.

Gu Minghe’s clothes, however, were soaked through.

He didn’t look disheveled; instead, he looked quite satisfied.

Pei Huaixue, on the other hand, was exhausted and sleeping soundly nestled in his arms.

After placing him on the bed, Gu Minghe returned to the bathroom to take his own shower.

-Judging by Actor Gu’s expression, he clearly ate very well in there.

-Damn it, Gu Minghe is secretly feasting behind our backs. I want a bite of fragrant, soft Pei Huaixue too.

-So, how far have they actually progressed?

-Is Gu-Pei going to lock down their CP status?

-They bathed together. Even if Pei Huaixue still likes Gu Yanchen, he should give up on him. After all, he’s been chasing a cold shoulder, and Gu Minghe treats him so well. Pei Huaixue must be moved.

    -Support Gu-Pei locking it down!

-We’ll know by who Pei Huaixue sends his text message to.

Before the live stream ended, Pei Huaixue was woken up by the staff through his earpiece to send his text message.

Every day, his message was automatically sent to Gu Yanchen.

This had become like homework for him, a form of muscle memory.

Although every time he sent it, a deep, dark gaze would appear behind him, watching him, Pei Huaixue tried hard to ignore that look for the sake of the mission and sent the message.

His Points had now accumulated to over eight thousand.

According to the original plot, Gu Yanchen and Su Jin were supposed to confirm their relationship on the last day of the dating show. He either had to hold out until the last day to receive a large Points reward all at once, or gather ten thousand Points early and end the mission sooner.

He certainly wanted to finish early, but with Gu Minghe present, the difficulty of his mission had increased.

Su Jin was also a particularly stubborn person who liked to avoid things. Even though he and Gu Yanchen had already slept together, and Gu Yanchen had come to the dating show to pursue him, the harder the pursuit, the more Su Jin wanted to run away.

He was afraid that years of friendship would be ruined by love.

Only through the Vicious Cannon Fodder’s assistance, which created a sense of crisis, would Su Jin recognize his true feelings and take a step forward.

    Pei Huaixue felt helpless.

If only everyone could be as fast as him and Gu Minghe—confessing on day one, kissing on day two, and sleeping together on day three.

He and Gu Minghe were also childhood sweethearts turned lovers, and he was never afraid that if they broke up, they wouldn’t be friends anymore.

Look at them now—they were divorced, yet they were still kissing!
